They’re just not that into you. Today’s Democrats treat the American people like a spouse who has grown routine‚ sometimes ungrateful‚ and decreasingly alluring. And they cannot forgive America for running off for four years with that damn contractor. But Democrats swoon over the 8.8 million illegal aliens who they have helped invade the country on President Joe Biden’s watch. These arrivistes are like a collective paramour who blends excitement‚ the exotic and a stiff whiff of danger. And‚ before long‚ odds are that they will vote Democrat. In a word: HOT! That’s why American citizens lately feel jilted‚ if not abused by Democrats‚ even as illegals gasp beneath the gifts that the Left piles on. “More free stuff?” they must ask. “We must be dating‚ but we just wanted something casual.” New York City Mayor Eric Adams‚ a Democrat‚ just cooked up a $53 million giveaway of free debit cards for illegal alien families with kids. They will receive $1‚000 per month to buy baby supplies and food‚ including “culturally relevant” cuisine. Meanwhile‚ Adams chopped the Education Department’s food budget by $60 million. This month‚ students who enjoyed chicken thighs‚ grab-and-go salads‚ and cookies now endure cheaper fare: pizza‚ hummus and crackers‚ and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Gotham’s classrooms are 41.1% Hispanic‚ 23.7% black‚ and 16.5% of Asian descent. Schools that are only 14.7% white‚ on average‚ should expect more social justice than this. Instead‚ Adams feeds illegal aliens while depriving his voters’ children. Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey‚ also a Democrat‚ seized the Melnea A. Cass Recreational Complex in Boston’s 55.6% black Roxbury district and turned it into an illegal alien shelter. That will leave at-risk youths with one less place to avoid trouble and seniors one less spot to gather safely. According to NECN.com news‚ the expropriated facility on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will provide illegals with “wrap-around services until May 31.”  Healey‚ accompanied by Boston’s far Left Democratic Mayor Michelle Wu‚ visited the institution on Jan. 31. One local man approached Healey in front of the building and asked‚ “Maura‚ why do you think it’s OK to take away resources from the citizens of Massachusetts?” She flippantly replied‚ “We need a housing bill passed.” Sounding betrayed‚ former City Council candidate Shawn Nelson complained‚ “The only time they want us is when they want a vote‚ and as soon as they get that vote‚ they don’t need us anymore.” “Rubin Report” host Dave Rubin flew through Miami last month. “This is the state of absolute insanity happening at our airports‚” he commented via X. “I’m in the Pre-TSA line‚ where migrants don’t have to have an ID to get through security‚ and it’s their choice whether they want their picture taken.” Just snapped this pic. When the Supreme Court ruled recently that the federal government could remove razor wire on the border between Texas and Mexico that was put in place by the state of Texas‚ it set off a legal‚ political‚ and even theological debate about the federalism and border policy. Despite the ruling‚ the state of Texas has said it will continue installing the wire‚ and several states have decided to send state troopers and members of the National Guard to Texas to help the effort. Yes‚ the federal government generally has had jurisdiction over what happens at our federal border‚ but we’ve never faced a situation where the federal government was trying to tear down border barriers to make it easier to illegally enter the country. These are unique times. As Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis‚ a Republican‚ has pointed out‚ if the Constitution was intended to force states to accept illegal entry into their borders from foreign governments‚ there’s no way it would have been ratified. Since the Supreme Court decision‚ a political debate has erupted in Washington‚ D.C. An allegedly bipartisan bill called for the border to be closed if more than 5‚000 people per day illegally cross the border‚ but any support that may have once existed for the bill fell apart the moment it became public. Within Christian circles‚ the political debate has been happening in tandem with a theological debate where some appear to be arguing that allowing open borders is a matter of Christian love. On X‚ the platform formerly known as Twitter‚ Carlos A. Rodriguez‚ said‚ “100% of migrants beyond the razor fences were created in the image of God.” The implication appears to be that image bearers of God should generally be allowed to do what they want to do‚ but he can’t possibly mean that. Using the moment to take a shot at the nation’s largest Protestant denomination‚ another X user said‚ “The southern Baptist convention international mission Board budget is $282‚000‚000. And the nations are coming to the southern border but Southern Baptists want to see those people trapped in razor wire.” Setting aside the obvious slander about those who oppose illegal immigration wanting to see people trapped in razor wire‚ the assumption here seems to be that we must choose between fulfilling the Great Commission and respecting the rule of law. But this is a false choice. The Bible unquestionably endorses the idea of welcoming strangers and showing hospitality. It further calls for the just treatment of everyone‚ because they are created in the image of God (Deuteronomy 24:17). But that’s not a rebuke of national borders or a statement that people should be able to go wherever they want whenever they want. “Thou shalt not kill” and “that shalt not steal” are not in conflict‚ they are complementary. They both recognize that people have dignity and rights by virtue of their humanity‚ which include the right to life and the right to property. Nations are a way of recognizing property that is owned by a community and therefore not owned by those outside the community. This means people inside a community have privileges those outside a community do not have. Like the definition of a woman‚ this hasn’t been controversial until very recently. The book of Nehemiah is dedicated to the idea that the security that comes from walls is a sign of God’s blessing and provision. Conversely‚ the lack of walls is evidence of social decay and vulnerability. God is not troubled that the purpose of walls is to prevent some people from doing things they want to do because He knows some people desire to do things they shouldn’t do‚ like take fentanyl and victims of sex trafficking across international borders for the purpose of killing and exploiting. Of course‚ not everyone seeking to cross our border intends harm‚ but that would also be true of all the people who might want to sleep in your house tonight if they knew it was unlocked‚ but you lock it anyway. The moral arguments being made in defense of open borders aren’t much different than the left-wing moral arguments being made on a range of other issues. It all comes down to the belief that you’re not loving your neighbor if you won’t let your neighbor do whatever they want. We’re supposed to let people come into the country if they want‚ sleep on the streets if they want‚ steal iPhones from stores if they want‚ cut off their genitals if they want‚ abort their children if they want. The desire itself is the justification. The belief that some greater good could outweigh the current longing of an individual is framed as hatred or bigotry. But none of it is true. We don’t have to choose between love and order‚ and anyone who suggests otherwise may be well intended‚ but they certainly aren’t speaking for God. This story is going to vanish from the news faster than the speed of light. To nobody’s surprise‚ word just broke that the villain who shot up Lakewood Church in Houston‚ Texas is a transgender man. And the leftist media‚ who seems to believe that transgender individuals aren’t suffering from a mental illness‚ are going to try their hardest to hide that fact‚ insist that the shooter shot the church because Christians are “bigots‚” and/or just not talk about the story at all. And there are still people who think the media isn’t biased? Late Sunday afternoon‚ just before the Spanish-language service at Joe Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Texas‚ a transgender man - also know as a woman - waltzed into the church with a gun and a child and fired off as many as 12 shots before a Houston police officer and another armed agent who were working off-duty in the church‚ shot and killed the aggressor. The child was injured and rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. A 57-year-old man was also shot in the leg‚ and as of Monday both he and the child are in the hospital recovering. Now it’s become clear that the shooter‚ born a female named Genesse Ivonne Moreno‚ was transgender and went by the name Jeffery. Jeffery has a long criminal history stretching for years‚ including convictions for possession of marijuana‚ theft‚ forgery and assault.  Mugshots of “Jeffery” from years prior show her looking much more feminine than she does now as “Jeffery.” To paint even more of a picture of how far left this shooter was‚ reports indicate that Moreno’s AR-15 used in the shooting had a “Free Palestine” message scrawled on it.  Moreno’s social media accounts also connect her with the church after she posted that she’d donated to the congregation and another post was an image of a gun with directions on how to clean it.  Of course‚ the media hasn't done anything with this information. As a matter of fact‚ the media has been hush-hush about her identity. When you add the word “transgender” to that same search‚ the MSM outlets are not even shown on the first page of results. The media doesn't want you to know that the shooter was trans because remember‚ that doesn’t help push the leftist narrative that transitioning is perfectly normal.  It’s become obvious that those suffering from mental illnesses have a proclivity to act out in irrational ways‚ and have started making the list of mass shooters in greater numbers. Look at the record as of late: the Colorado Springs shooter was nonbinary‚ the Nashville school shooter was transgender as was the shooter in Aberdeen‚ as well as the gunmen in both the Denver and Iowa school shootings. And now‚ this. So when the left tells you that this whole gender ideology nonsense is normal or not affiliated with a mental illness‚ tell them they’re wrong. We have the receipts. “Wonder why the Democrats always win?” asks Sara Gonzales. Apparently the answer can be found in the 2022-23 “RNC spending versus DNC spending” stats. Sara displays the following chart from RedState‚ and it’s pretty telling: Sara immediately spots some frivolous spending on the part of the RNC. “The RNC spent nearly $300‚000 in office supplies‚ while the DNC spent a mere $45‚000‚” she scoffs. On floral arrangements‚ “the RNC spent over $70‚000‚” whereas “the DNC [spent] $795 … because apparently the left seems to understand flowers don't matter.” “Ronna Romney only travels in style‚” which is why “the RNC spent $263‚000” compared to the “DNC’s $7‚000” on limousine services‚ she mocks. However‚ for more important matters‚ such as voter file maintenance and GOTV texting‚ Sara can’t help but notice a clear lack of concern. On “voter file maintenance‚ which seems pretty important … the RNC [spent] $39‚239‚” compared to “the DNC’s nearly $236‚000‚” she criticizes. For “get-out-the-vote texting campaigns‚ which also seems really important if you want to win‚ the RNC [spent] $86‚000‚ the DNC over $1.6 million.” Unfortunately‚ that’s just the beginning. Sara pulls another round of stats revealing what the RNC has spent on “event tickets and other entertainment activities‚” as well as “private jet expenses‚” “clothing retailers‚” “donor mementos‚” and “alcohol-related expenditures‚” and it’s enough to make any conservative’s stomach turn. Islamic terrorists butchered hundreds of Christians throughout Nigeria on Christmas Eve. In their hours-long attack‚ Muslim Fulani militants gunned down Christian farmers‚ hacked up defenseless women and children with machetes‚ and torched churches. While willing to express "solidarity" with the victims‚ the European Parliament appears more than willing to displace blame from the savage ideologues responsible and to instead pin the atrocities on so-called climate change. A genocide of Christians According to Open Doors International‚ Nigeria is the sixth most brutal place in the world for Christians — bad news for its roughly 100.4 million Christian inhabitants. In and outside the country's northern Sharia states‚ Christians are routinely subjected to enforced Islamization‚ forced marriage‚ murder‚ torture‚ abduction‚ rape‚ and other ideologically motivated brutalities. Nearly 5‚000 Christians were murdered in Nigeria just last year‚ accounting for 82% of all Christians killed for their faith in 2023‚ reported the National Catholic Register. In 2022‚ Genocide Watch indicated that jihadists slaughtered 6‚000 civilians‚ mostly Christians‚ in the first three months of the year‚ then kept adding to their tally. Nigerian Bishop Wildred Anagbe of the Makurdi Diocese reckons this bloodletting amounts to a genocide‚ telling CNA that the Christian population is being "gradually and systematically" reduced by Islamists through "killings‚ kidnappings‚ torture‚ and burning of churches." Mark Lipdo‚ program coordinator at the Stefanos Foundation‚ a Christian charity that supports Nigerian Christians‚ told Christian Today‚ "These attacks are being seen by local Nigerians as a jihad‚ like the jihad of 200 years ago. This is why they are targeting Christmas and targeting churches." "What is happening is a religious war‚" added Lipdo. Genocide Watch indicated that terrorists killed over 350‚000 in Nigeria between 2009 and 2022. Climate change massacres At least 200 Christians were reportedly murdered between Dec. 23 and Christmas Day‚ 2023‚ in a series of terror attacks in 26 Christian communities in Nigeria's Central Plateau State. Other estimates put the number at over 230 dead. Magit Macham‚ who returned to the area to celebrate Christmas with his family‚ told Reuters‚ "We were taken unawares‚ and those that could run ran into the bush. A good number of those that couldn't were caught and killed with machetes." After the marauders shot his brother in the leg‚ Macham dragged him into a bush‚ where they hid for the night. Alliance Defending Freedom International noted that hundreds more were injured‚ eight churches were burned to the ground‚ and another 15‚000 people were internally displaced by the attacks. As the footage of the mass graves circulated online‚ Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Sokoto Diocese told Nigerian President Bola Tinubu‚ "You have no excuses before God or the people of Nigeria‚" reported CNA. Empty gestures Western outfits have suggested that while often acknowledged as an ethno-religious conflict‚ the attacks are largely driven by bad weather patterns. Citing nameless experts‚ Reuters floated the notion that "the conflict is based on the availability of resources rather than ethnic or religious differences." The International Crisis Group‚ whose work is supported by George Soros' Open Society Foundations and cited by the Biden State Department‚ claims that "climate change has aggravated" "farmer-herder violence." "Increasingly‚ the security implications of changing weather patterns are visible in deadly land resource disputes between farmers and herders across the continent‚" added the group. The European Parliament appears willing to similarly cast the persecution not as a sustained jihad but as a resource dispute caused by the specter of anthropogenic climate change. Members of the climate alarmist political group Green/European Free Alliance introduced a motion for a resolution last week that grossly underestimated the Christian death toll and criticized the description of the conflict in religious terms. After all‚ "several factors are to be taken into account such as competition for land fuelled by rapid climate change." The proposed resolution would have the parliament warn "against an instrumentalisation of the farmers-herders conflict for spreading religion-based hatred" and "cal[l] on the Nigerian authorities to take meaningful steps to identify and address all root causes of the violence in Plateau state‚ such as competition for scarce resources‚ environmental degradation and the disappearance of effective mediation schemes." The climate alarmists' resolution would also have called on European authorities to make African migration to Europe easier and to "ensure humanitarian assistance for those affected and displaced by the violence and climate change." The European Parliament ultimately passed a modified version of the resolution‚ which starts strong with an acknowledgement of the murder of Nigerian Christians by "Islamic terrorist groups" and the destruction of 18‚000 churches and 2‚200 Christian schools since 2009. However‚ the resolution largely reverts to the language of the climate alarmists' original draft. "Factors fuelling the clashes overlap and are rooted in‚ among other things‚ territorial disputes‚ ethnic tensions‚ access to scarce resources and environmental degradation‚" says the European resolution. The parliamentarians also acknowledged "the role of climate change‚ competition for scarce resources and the disappearance of effective mediation schemes in aggravating the farmer-herder conflict." ADF International highlighted that various parliamentarians have criticized the resolution. Bert-Jan Ruissen‚ a Dutch politician and MEP‚ stated‚ "Saying that it is a mere conflict between farmers and herders fails to acknowledge the other causes. It is Muslim extremists causing death and destruction." Hungarian politician and MEP György Hölvényi said‚ "Blinded by ideology‚ some people are totally insensitive to human suffering when it comes to Christians. The timing of the attacks‚ brutal killings‚ and destruction of churches cannot be misinterpreted and can only be understood as the persecution of Christians‚ and we should be able to say so."
