Police Searching For Transgender Suspect After Two People Murdered In Home

Law enforcement officials in Utah are searching for a transgender suspect after two people were found murdered in their home this week. Just after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Washington City Police were called about shots fired in a local neighborhood, police said in a statement. “Washington City Police Officers arrived on scene and entered the residence through the front door,” the report said. “Upon entry into the home, two deceased adults (one female and one male) were located inside from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers on scene attempted life saving efforts on the two victims but efforts were unsuccessful. Upon searching the home further, no other victims and no suspects were located. From the initial investigation, it was apparent a double homicide had occurred.” Police said that they identified a single suspect in the case, Collin Troy Bailey, who they described as a “transgender male transitioning to a female and currently goes by the name of Mia Bailey.” Police said he is white, 5’10” tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has brown hair. They noted that he wears “wigs and is known to change hairstyles frequently.” He was seen leaving the area in a yellow 2014 Kia Sol with Utah License Plate U069GF. Police said that his current whereabouts are unknown and he is “considered armed and dangerous”. Police said the public should not approach him if they spot him and should instead contact law enforcement. Police did not say what the relationship was between the suspect and those in the home who were murdered. “The Washington City Police Department sends our heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family in this horrific tragedy,” the statement concluded. “We also want to thank all those who assisted with this incident, which is Washington County Sheriff’s Office, St George City Police Department, Utah Highway Patrol, Washington County Attorney’s Office, and local citizens on scene.”

Netflix Will Open Two Entertainment And Shopping Centers In 2025

Streaming giant Netflix announced on Tuesday plans to open massive entertainment complexes in two U.S. cities featuring stores, restaurants, and other experiences. The Netflix House venues have scheduled opening dates in 2025, per the promo page. One will be in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, located in the metro Philadelphia area, and the other will be in Dallas, Texas. In addition to places to eat and shop, visitors will also have access to experiential activities based on some of the most popular Netflix shows, such as “Bridgerton,” “Stranger Things,” and “Squid Game.” Both venues are being added to existing malls in spaces previously occupied by department stores. Each venue has more than 100,000 square feet and attracts a massive amount of foot traffic.  “At Netflix House, you can enjoy regularly updated immersive experiences, indulge in retail therapy, and get a taste — literally — of your favorite Netflix series and films through unique food and drink offerings,” Marian Lee, Netflix’s Chief Marketing Officer, said of the new entertainment venues.  “We’ve launched more than 50 experiences in 25 cities, and Netflix House represents the next generation of our distinctive offerings. The venues will bring our beloved stories to life in new, ever-changing, and unexpected ways.” The promo page describes Netflix House as a “fan fever dream” and already lists several options focused on some of the most popular shows. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “Imagine waltzing with your partner to an orchestral cover of a Taylor Swift song on a replica of the Bridgerton set –– and then walking around the corner to compete in the Glass Bridge challenge from Squid Game,” the description says.  “After pretending to fight for your life, you’ve worked up an appetite and want to get a bite. You see a nearby restaurant with food inspired by Netflix shows from around the world; the meal is memorable, but you still want to buy some Stranger Things merch. Luckily, there’s a shop that sells that Hellfire Club T-shirt you’ve always wanted.” Some previous Netflix live fan experiences include a live-action “Stranger Things” stageplay prequel in London, “Bridgerton” high tea, a “Knives Out” dinner theater in Toronto, and an ultimate zombie battle in Las Vegas.

Feline Fine: How Acupuncture Works, Part Three

Hi, I’m Dr. Lauren! Read my introduction to learn more about me and my two adventurous cats, Pancake and Tiller. Note: This is part three of a three-part series. Click here to read parts one and two: Feline Fine: Acupuncture in Cats, Part One Feline Fine: Acupuncture in Cats, Part Two In the final article in this series, we will take a more in depth look at how acupuncture is actually believed to work, in general, and in some of the specific conditions. Although, at present, no one fully understands how acupuncture works, there is a fairly conclusive body of both Western and Eastern research to say, unequivocally, that it does! As with any treatment modality, there will always be patients who don’t respond as predictably as others, but that is nothing new in the world of medicine. How Does Acupuncture Work? Many theories exist as to how acupuncture works: modulation of the nervous system, stimulation of fascia, and all sorts of interesting theories abound. In fact, speaking of fascia for a moment, it wasn’t until I began studying acupuncture that I had a new appreciation for this incredible substance. In vet school, we were taught it was merely a connective tissue: basically lifeless, and functioning as nothing more than a wrap holding our innards together. Today, acupuncture and many other medical modalities take advantage of the intricate complexities of fascia. Interestingly, though, and similar to general anesthesia, we simply don’t fully understand how acupuncture works: simply that it does. Pancake none the worse for wear after after her acupuncture. What Happens During an Acupuncture Session? So, what actually happens during an acupuncture session? First, you generally schedule an initial consult with a veterinary acupuncturist, to allow for your cat to be examined, and the issues for which you are seeking treatment Next the acupuncturist will determine a treatment plan. Treatment plans are very individualized and can vary widely. Just as not all vets will have the exact same approach to, say, a vomiting cat or a kitten with a fever, so too do the options vary widely with acupuncture treatments. Often, an initial treatment for a cat will involve selecting a few main acupuncture points, to get the patient used to the treatment, and to also see what effects it will have. An initial treatment may be done the same day, or a different day, from the visit. The acupuncture session itself will generally last around 20 minutes. During the session, fine gauge needles are inserted into the selected acupuncture points, these needles are often imperceptible to the person (or pet) experiencing the treatment; other times their placement is described as warm, tingling, itchy, or a dull ache. Some acupuncturists will simply insert, and leave, the needles. Others will use them for additional stimulation, either by rotating them, or even by using them to provide electroacpuncture Treatments generally occur weekly, for a selected number of weeks, after which treatments are then scaled back as needed I’ve used it quite successfully for emergency CPR in neonatal kittens, as well as for arthritis. I’ve treated one patient with a chronic limp that responded amazingly well after only a single session. It is important to remember that acupuncture isn’t a substitute for other medical therapies, but is generally best approached as a co-therapeutic modality. But acupuncture opens the door to so many new options in the treatment of so many chronic diseases, not to mention acute ones, that it leaves a world of new veterinary medicine to explore. A world that is actually around 3,000 years old. These are exciting times, indeed. Why You Should Never “Rescue” Baby Deer You Find Alone In The Wild

Why You Should Never “Rescue” Baby Deer You Find Alone In The Wild

While out walking in deer country, you just might come across what some call “lost fawns”. These deer babies are often found curled up at the base of a tree or beneath a bush, but they do not need you to rescue them.Adult deer with babies in tow have evolved a smart way to go out foraging. Instead of allowing their all legs, no balance offspring to slow them down, they stash their babies in hiding places, and fawns are expert hiders. The babies of most deer species have spots on their backs that fade as they age, and this is because they need them for camouflage when they’re young. While mom goes out foraging, the babies will curl up and remain motionless, and newborns spend more than 95 percent of their time hiding in this way. When it comes to the big game animals, this is one of two approaches observed in nature for keeping young alive. While deer are known as “hiders”, other animals like bison and bighorn sheep are “followers” as their offspring immediately get on their feet and start following mom around.Fawns are so well camouflaged wildlife photographers often report almost stepping on them by accident.Image credit: Karel Bock / Shutterstock.comDeer fawns take a more relaxed approach to early life, getting on their feet only to nurse their mothers before she goes back out into the field in search of food. Understandably, finding Bambi all alone in the big scary woods has led lots of people to fear they are in trouble and “rescue” the lone animal, but this is a big mistake.A deer mom remembers where she stashed her fawns, and if they get moved by humans there’s a chance she won’t find them again. Picking up a fawn can drastically reduce their chances of survival, and they are difficult animals to rear in captivity, so even the best of intentions to get a fawn some medical help can actually be a fatal misunderstanding.      For that reason, wildlife services strongly advise that you do not touch baby deer you spot in the wild as they are very rarely abandoned and mom is usually only a short distance away. Human presence can prevent her from returning, so it’s best to leave the fawns well alone. There are some exceptions, such as if a fawn is found next to its dead mother, is visibly injured, or is seeking out your attention and bleating in distress. In these instances, it’s best to call your local wildlife service for help so that they can properly assess the situation and work out the best next steps. They look helpless, but baby deer are expert hiders.Image credit: Todd Maertz / Shutterstock.comWhat to do if you find a baby deer alone in the woodsIn light of this, the Wildlife Aid Foundation put together three golden rules for if you find a fawn to try and prevent well-meaning members of the public from causing unintentional harm. So, if you find a deer fawn, here’s what to do:Do not touch it – the only exception to this golden rule is if the animal is in immediate danger, such as standing in the middle of the road. Touching deer fawns can increase their chance of being rejected by their mother, as she will be able to pick up the human scent.Walk away quietly – deer mothers rarely go far when they forage. Human presence may be preventing her from returning, and if you have a dog it’s best to pop it on a leash so she doesn’t get scared away.Call the experts – if you have reason to believe the animal is in real danger, such as if you have found it next to its dead mother, call your local wildlife center for assistance.Follow these rules and with a bit of luck, Bambi and mom will be just fine.
