DOMESTIC. A representative of the tax-funded Muslim study association Ibn Rushd threatened riots due to non-payment of extra contributions for a Ramadan party, Sydsvenskan reports.

The man has been reported to the police for illegal threats by the city of Malmö.

The reason is that he wrote in an email that there could be riots because a contribution to a festival in connection with an Eid festival to mark the end of Ramadan was not granted.

The city of Malmö has contributed financially to the Muslim festival in Folkets park since 2013, but this year the city's contribution of SEK 200,000 was not enough to guarantee the security of the event.

The employee from Ibn Rushd announced in the email to the municipality that Muslims dissatisfied with the allowance would cause significantly greater costs for society than the 200,000 kroner.

The district manager at Ibn Rushd, Malin Novén, announces that the man has now been suspended.

Malmö City's security officer Per-Erik Ebbeståhl says that it is the individual employee, not Ibn Rushd as an organization, that is behind the email.
