CNN: Calling the US a Republic Is “A Conspiracy Theory”

Democrats don’t like to refer to the USA as a Constitutional Republic because they are turning us into a socialist democracy. We finally have a CNN reporter spilling the beans. He ordains that calling America a Republic is “an attack on democracy.” It’s probably homophobic, xenophobic, and racist too. CNN also calls it a conspiracy […] The post CNN: Calling the US a Republic Is “A Conspiracy Theory” appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

‘It’s Just Bad Art’: Jelly Roll Talks Tattoo Regret, Says He Got Staph Infections

Country singer Jelly Roll once again discussed some regrets he has about his tattoos, including the fact that he got multiple staph infections during the process. The 40-year-old spoke on the topic during a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show.  The radio show host brought up how Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, previously did an interview in which he talked about wishing he never got some of his tattoos. “I regret 98% of these tattoos, 97, almost all of them. Like core philosophies are rooted in my life when I was 17 and now I’m 40, I’m like, ‘What the f*** was I thinking?'” When asked if his face tattoos were the ones he regretted most, Jelly Roll replied, “That’s probably one of the few I’d keep,” he said. “I love my cross, I love my slash.” “It’s these…so, listen to me…if you are out there listening this morning and you’re under the age of 25 and you are considering getting tattoos, I’d like to give you some wisdom that nobody gave me,” the singer continued. “We will spend $300 on a pair of f***ing shoes that will go bad in six months. But as soon as a motherf***** wants $400 an hour to tattoo we’re out, $1,000 an hour, no way.” He added, “I have a tattoo on my arm that I gave somebody a quarter sack of bad weed for. And it looks like a quarter sack of bad weed tattoo.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “They look decent because they’re all grouped together, so you’re like, ‘They don’t look horrible, Jelly,'” he went on. “But until you dissect them and zoom in you’re like, ‘These suck bad.’ It’s just bad art. There’s no other way to say it.” Stern brought up that sometimes tattoos are done in unhygienic environments, prompting Jelly Roll to reply, “Oh yeah, listen, I’ve gotten staph infections from bad tattoos. I’ve learned nothing.” He went on, “You talk about bull-headed. And I still went back to the same guy that gave me the staph infection. It’s crazy what you’ll do, is next level crazy.”

Surgeon General Calls For Warning Label On Social Media For Young People

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy is calling for a mandatory warning label on social media, warning users about the mental health risks for teenagers. In an opinion article for The New York Times published Monday, Murthy said he wants a surgeon general’s warning on social media platforms similar to the warning labels that appear on tobacco and alcohol products. The tobacco warnings have been shown to “increase awareness and change behavior,” Murthy said. “The mental health crisis among young people is an emergency — and social media has emerged as an important contributor,” Murthy wrote. “It is time to require a surgeon general’s warning label on social media platforms, stating that social media is associated with significant mental health harms for adolescents,” he said. “A surgeon general’s warning label, which requires congressional action, would regularly remind parents and adolescents that social media has not been proved safe.” The mental health crisis among teenagers has been partly driven by social media’s explosion over the last decade or so, during which the rates of teenage depression have skyrocketed, especially among girls. Murthy noted that adolescents who spend more than three hours on social media a day have twice the risk of anxiety and depression, and teens, on average, spend longer than this, about 4.8 hours a day on such platforms. Nearly half of teens say “social media makes them feel worse about their bodies,” he added. Murthy also called on Congress to pass legislation to protect young people from online abuse, exposure to “extreme violence” and sexual content, and to bar social media companies from collecting “sensitive data” from children and require them to limit features like push notifications, autoplay, and infinite scroll. He also said social media platforms must be required to share their data on health effects with the public and submit them to independent safety audits. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “While the platforms claim they are making their products safer, Americans need more than words. We need proof,” Murthy said. Murthy also placed some of the responsibility on parents to protect their children from the negative effects of social media, calling on them to wait until after middle school to allow their kids to use social media and not allow phones at meals and social gatherings. Murthy added that schools should also keep classrooms free of phones. “Why is it that we have failed to respond to the harms of social media when they are no less urgent or widespread than those posed by unsafe cars, planes or food?” Murthy wrote. “These harms are not a failure of willpower and parenting; they are the consequence of unleashing powerful technology without adequate safety measures, transparency or accountability.” “The moral test of any society is how well it protects its children,” he said.

‘Gold-Standard’ Poll A Bad Omen For Biden In Midwestern States

‘Gold-Standard’ Poll A Bad Omen For Biden In Midwestern States

What is widely regarded as a “gold-standard” poll in Iowa touched off a swirl of commentary on Monday about how it portends a poor showing for President Joe Biden in battleground states across the Midwest. A new Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll from J. Ann Selzer’s company, Selzer & Company, found that former President Donald Trump got 50% support among likely voters, 18 points ahead of Biden. Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. received 9% support. The findings from the new poll, which also showed Trump increasing his lead since his conviction in a hush-money trial and Biden with a net approval rating of -39 in June, prompted discussion on social media. “In 2020, Trump won Iowa by +8 points,” pollster Frank Luntz said on X in response to the results. “Now, Iowa’s best pollster shows him up +18 in the state – which is bad news for Biden in more competitive Midwestern states, like Wisconsin and Michigan.” Luntz also pointed to results from the same pollster in 2020 showing Trump with a 1-point advantage in June of that year, tying Biden in September, and breaking ahead with a 7-point lead over Biden in October. Here’s how the same pollster fared in 2020. Their final poll in October had Trump up +7, and he won by +8. https://t.co/Ww0AMjd4rI — Frank Luntz (@FrankLuntz) June 17, 2024 Meghan McCain, a conservative pundit and daughter of the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), also suggested that Biden appears to be in jeopardy of losing in Wisconsin — a state in which he narrowly defeated Trump in the 2020 election. “There is no scenario where Trump wins Iowa by 18 points but loses Wisconsin,” McCain said in a post to X. “Ann Selzer is arguably the best pollster in the country (certainly Iowa) and her polls should be taken extremely seriously.” Like in Wisconsin, Trump lost to Biden in Michigan and Pennsylvania in 2020 after he beat Hillary Clinton in those states in 2016. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “Iowa is a red state and won’t be competitive in 2024, but the gold-standard Selzer poll is still valuable for this reason: IA has had a 7-10 point delta with key battlegrounds like WI/MI/PA in the last two elections, so the size of Trump’s lead matters. (DJT won it by 8 in ’20.),” NBC News reporter Sahil Kapur observed. Polls across the country have, on average, reflected a close match-up between Trump and Biden. They are poised to face off in their first debate of the 2024 election cycle next week. Kennedy does not currently qualify for the debate, but may yet meet the criteria. Statistician Nate Silver recently floated the idea of Biden dropping out as the best option for Democrats given the president’s low approval ratings. He responded to the latest poll from Selzer & Company with a post to X that said, “It’s not a great sign for Biden that some of his worst numbers come from the best pollsters.”
