Fox Reporter Who ‘Debunked’ Criticism Of Vaccine Was Fired After Missing Work Because Vaccine Made Him Sick

A former Fox News producer is suing the network‚ saying it fired him due to his “refusal to report false information‚” such as concerns about harmful effects of COVID vaccines. But Fox News says Jason Donner was fired for infractions including not showing up for work — which Donner blames‚ ironically‚ on the fact that the COVID vaccine made him sick for more than a week. Donner‚ who was a Capitol Hill producer‚ filed a lawsuit in D.C. court in September saying Fox discriminated against him “as a result of Mr. Donner speaking out against the false news stories being published by Fox News and his political affiliation.” One of those stories came in June 2021‚ when Donner was assigned to run a story on Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) raising questions about COVID vaccines. “Donner stated that it was dangerous to cover the story without interviewing a doctor for the opposing point of view‚” the lawsuit said.  “Forced to cover the press conference‚ Donner reported accurately on the issue and thereby debunked/fact-checked each of Senator Johnson’s claims in his required story pitch. He was praised by fellow Fox staffers for presenting the facts but raised the ire of management.” According to a FoxNews.com article‚ by other reporters‚ on June 28 Johnson held a press conference with people “who experienced adverse reactions to the vaccines and experienced ‘refusal or reluctance’ from their doctors to acknowledge that their symptoms might be tied to the vaccine.” Johnson said he was “pro-vaccine” but held the hearing because people who did experience ill effects were “having a hard time getting their truths communicated… without being censored.” He wrote to Pfizer and Moderna asking them to provide data about adverse reactions. Donner had other complaints. On January 6‚ 2021‚ when in Donner’s view Fox’s on-air comments did not sufficiently condemn what his lawsuit calls an “insurrection‚” he called Fox’s control room and said‚ “I don’t want to hear any of this f—ing sh—t on our air ever again because you’re gonna get us all killed.”  He said there were “reports of shots fired” — which was likely the sound of a police officer killing an unarmed protester. In October 2021‚ Donner complained to management about Tucker Carlson’s coverage of January 6 and worked “on a story debunking the false claims.” By 2022‚ Fox management said Donner was creating a “toxic environment” and needed “more self-awareness‚” the lawsuit said. “Fox News’ management was pushing a far right-wing agenda in the news division‚ and Donner would not comply with their demands‚” the lawsuit said. In September of that year‚ Donner was fired‚ with Fox allegedly telling him it was because he was late for work and did not show up for work. Donner said‚ ironically‚ that that’s because he had taken the COVID vaccine and had a severe adverse reaction — of the sort he didn’t want Sen. Johnson talking about without “debunking” it.  “On September 26‚ 2022‚ Donner called in sick because he was recovering from the COVID vaccine that he had recently received. Donner had received the COVID vaccine the previous week‚ but fell ill from it. Despite being ill‚ he continued to work because he did not want to leave his coworkers short-handed. Nonetheless‚ by September 26‚ 2022‚ he was too ill to continue to work and so he called in sick. His body gave out on him because he had kept working while ill‚” the lawsuit said. “On September 27‚ 2022‚ Donner’s supervisor… accused Donner of being irresponsible and challenged Donner’s work ethic‚ despite the fact that Donner worked past 9pm three nights in the preceding week while ill from the COVID vaccine. Essentially‚ [supervisor NuNu] Japaridze faulted Donner for calling in sick the day before when he was recovering from the COVID vaccine. The call ended with Japaridze hanging up on Donner‚” the lawsuit said. The next day‚ the D.C. Bureau Chief ”told Donner that he was fired because he was late for work and did not show up for work (presumably referring to September 26‚ 2022 when Donner called in sick)‚” the lawsuit said‚ alleging that “this was a pretextual firing based on Donner’s political views and affiliation.” The lawsuit was filed in D.C. Superior Court‚ invoking the D.C. Human Rights Act‚ on September 27‚ and was moved to federal court on November 13. Fox and Donner’s lawyer did not return requests for comment.

Speaker Johnson Announces Public Release Of January 6 Footage

The GOP-led House began on Friday to release tens of thousands of hours of video footage from January 6‚ 2021 — the day of the U.S. Capitol breach — to the public. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA)‚ who is less than a month into the job‚ announced the rolling disclosure of more than 40‚000 hours of footage to a website. His office said the footage will not include a small portion of video that may contain sensitive security information or information that could lead to retaliation against private citizens. “To restore America’s trust and faith in their Government we must have transparency. This is another step towards keeping the promises I made when I was elected to be your Speaker‚” Johnson said in a post to X that shared a link to a House Administration Committee webpage with dozens of video files already posted. Some Republican lawmakers and others have long pressed for the release of security footage of the day when a crowd of people entered the U.S. Capitol‚ disrupting lawmakers who were meeting to certify President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory. Proponents of disclosure have argued a disclosure would show a different side to the mainstream narrative about January 6 that mainly focused on the violence that took place. Johnson’s predecessor in the speaker’s role‚ Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA)‚ did share with then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson roughly 41‚000 hours of video earlier this year‚ after which Carlson aired previously unseen security footage of January 6 that also showed police officers appearing to stand by passively as people poured into the Capitol‚ drawing a sharp contrast to the more chaotic scenes often put on curated display by the January 6 Committee during its hearings. Some criticized the disclosure to Carlson. Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS)‚ who served as chairman of the January 6 Committee‚ warned of the potential security risks. The head of the Capitol Police criticized Carlon’s airing of a small portion of the footage as misleading and cherry-picked. And President Joe Biden scolded House Republicans‚ saying that he hoped they felt “ashamed for what was done to undermine our law enforcement.” Various members of the media and January 6 defendants successfully gained restricted access to the footage in the fall using terminals overseen by the House Administration Committee. Johnson said in his statement on Friday that a public viewing room will “ensure every citizen can view every minute of the videos uncensored” while the online roll-out takes place. The speaker also thanked Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA)‚ the chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight for the Committee on House Administration‚ for working quickly to upload the videos online. In addition‚ Johnson said processing the videos will involve blurring out the faces of private citizens in yet-to-be-released tapes to prevent retaliation and “segregating” an estimated 5% of the footage that may involve “sensitive security information related to the building architecture.”

Star NFL QB Goes Down With Season-Ending Injury Months After Landing Record-Breaking Contract

Joe Burrow‚ the talented young quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals‚ will be out for the remainder of the NFL season after tearing a ligament in his wrist during his team’s Thursday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens.  The third-year quarterback out of LSU left in the second quarter of Thursday’s game after throwing a touchdown pass to put the Bengals up 10-7. The Bengals said Burrow was injured after a hit on a previous play from Ravens linebacker Jadeveon Clowney. Burrow was in visible pain after throwing a touchdown pass to end the drive and said he felt a pop. The team says Joe Burrow's injury happened after getting tackled by Jadeveon Clowney. Burrow managed to throw a TD despite of that before leaving. Jake Browning will likely take over at QB for the rest of the season.pic.twitter.com/pNyS4wmXLmhttps://t.co/3zaupVp5Jj pic.twitter.com/ufCUDXW1xw — Dov Kleiman (@NFL_DovKleiman) November 17‚ 2023 Moments later‚ the 26-year-old quarterback was seen attempting to throw on the sidelines before his team’s next offensive drive‚ but after one try at throwing a ball‚ he went down in pain. “I was just going to tape it up and give it a shot‚” Burrow said‚ according to ESPN. “I just couldn’t.” Bengals head coach Zac Talyor said Burrow would need surgery to repair the torn ligament‚ but tried to remain optimistic after his team fell to 5-5 on the season. “This season is far from over‚” he said. Bengals backup quarterback Jake Browning took Burrow’s place running the offense and finished the game with 68 yards and a touchdown‚ connecting on eight of his 14 passes. The Bengals would go on to fall to the Ravens 20-34. Burrow’s season-ending injury has also caused some controversy as the NFL is now investigating the Bengals after the team posted a video of Burrow getting off the team bus in Baltimore with an apparent cast on the wrist that he eventually ended up injuring. The league is looking into why the Bengals did not list Burrow on its injury report for the week‚ which requires teams to list all players with “reportable injuries.” CHECK OUT THE DAILY WIRE BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING GUIDE The team later deleted the post showing the apparent cast on Burrow’s throwing hand‚ but the same video was posted by Cincinnati news outlet WCPO 9. Lots of talk about a deleted #Bengals post‚ which showed Joe Burrow wearing some type of brace or sleeve on his right wrist. 🎥 Here’s video of Burrow getting off the team bus in Baltimore. Not a perfectly clear shot‚ but you can definitely see it on his hand.@WCPO pic.twitter.com/XcqX6oMODA — Caleb Noe (@CalebNoeTV) November 16‚ 2023 Taylor said he wasn’t aware of any injury ailing Burrow before the game. Burrow signed a record-breaking contract extension just as the 2023-24 season got underway. The deal‚ a five-year extension worth $275 million‚ is the highest-ever annual value NFL salary in the league’s history coming in at $55 million a year. The Bengals quarterback took the franchise to its third-ever Super Bowl appearance in 2022‚ which ended in a 20-23 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was selected first overall by Cincinnati in the 2020 NFL draft after leading his LSU Tigers to a National Championship as a senior.

Trump Dominates New Hampshire Polls‚ Cementing Front-Runner Status for GOP Nomination

In a striking display of political resilience‚ former President Donald Trump has established a commanding lead in the New Hampshire polls‚ outpacing his closest rival‚ former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley‚ by a substantial 28 points. This significant margin underscores Trump’s enduring influence within the Republican Party and positions him as the clear front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination. Despite a crowded field of contenders‚ Trump’s dominance in New Hampshire is a testament to his unwavering base of support. Approximately 35 percent of the state’s electorate considers Haley as either their first or second choice‚ yet Trump’s combined first and second-choice support soars to an impressive 54 percent. This indicates a solidified loyalty among his supporters that other candidates have yet to challenge effectively. BREAKING: President Biden categorically rejects polls showing that he is trailing former President Donald Trump in swing states. WATCH.pic.twitter.com/WgIgpcmZpr — Simon Ateba (@simonateba) November 9‚ 2023 Haley‚ while trailing significantly‚ shows potential to broaden her appeal‚ with 60 percent of New Hampshire voters expressing satisfaction or enthusiasm at the prospect of her winning the nomination. Should she achieve this‚ Haley would make history as the first woman and first woman of color to secure the Republican nomination. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis‚ another notable figure in the race‚ currently finds himself in fifth place in New Hampshire. However‚ when considering voters’ first and second choices‚ DeSantis climbs to third place‚ capturing 27 percent of the vote. This suggests that while he may not be the top pick for many‚ he remains a viable alternative for a sizable portion of the electorate. What do the New York Times‚ CNN‚ Morning Consult/Bloomberg‚ and Emerson all have in common? Their polls show Pres. Trump beating Joe Biden either nationally or in swing states.@LaCivitaC breaks down why Trump is so well positioned to end the failed Biden presidency. pic.twitter.com/3GmpORphAU — Daniel Baldwin (@baldwin_daniel_) November 10‚ 2023 The New Hampshire primary‚ set for January 23‚ will follow closely on the heels of the Iowa caucuses. Historically‚ New Hampshire voters have often diverged from Iowa’s choices‚ except when an incumbent is running. This year’s primary could prove pivotal in shaping the trajectory of the Republican race‚ particularly given Trump’s current 30-point lead over DeSantis in Iowa polling. Trump’s campaign is unique in modern American politics‚ as no one-term president has attempted a comeback just four years after leaving office. His efforts are being closely watched‚ as they may redefine the political landscape and set new precedents for future elections. The enthusiasm for Trump among likely voters remains robust‚ with 41 percent expressing eagerness for his nomination. In comparison‚ enthusiasm levels for Haley and DeSantis stand at 20 percent and 16 percent‚ respectively. This enthusiasm gap may prove crucial as the primaries approach and candidates vie for the hearts and minds of Republican voters. As the primary season intensifies‚ Trump’s lead in New Hampshire serves as a barometer of his continued clout. His ability to maintain such a lead amidst a diverse field of Republicans signals a party still very much aligned with his vision and leadership style. The upcoming primaries will undoubtedly be a litmus test for the Republican Party’s direction and its commitment to Trump’s agenda. With the New Hampshire electorate’s preferences now coming into sharper focus‚ the stage is set for a spirited contest that will shape the future of the GOP and the country. In conclusion‚ Trump’s formidable presence in the New Hampshire polls is a clear indication of his sustained popularity within the Republican Party. As candidates continue to jockey for position‚ Trump’s lead serves as a reminder of his potential to once again capture the GOP nomination and possibly the White House.
