MALODOROUS: NY Times Attempts to Protect Soros’s Pro-Terror Funding Stink

The New York Times scrambled to run cover for leftist billionaire George Soros after a groundbreaking report exposing his pro-terrorism funding served as the pretext for the Justice Department launching an investigation into his Open Society Foundations (OSF). The Times tried October 10 to attack the Capital Research Center’s investigative report showing that Soros had funneled at least $80 million into “groups tied to terrorism or extremist violence” both in the U.S. and abroad. The headline: "Report on Soros Cited by Justice Dept. Does Not Show Funding for Terrorism." One heavily Soros-funded group, Al-Haq, is “a nongovernmental organization (NGO) based in the West Bank” that has been “long accused of ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which the European Union and the United States designate as a foreign terrorist organization.” But The Times picked an obvious strawman and went to town with it by claiming the report “does not show evidence that Mr. Soros’s network knowingly paid for its grantees to break the law, which legal experts said would be necessary to build a criminal case.” That’s not how investigations work, and the neanderthal-brains at the ironically-dubbed newspaper of record know this. Investigations involve compiling evidence before a criminal case can be built. The CRC report is just one piece in a larger puzzle.  At the very least, the CRC report warrants an investigation to determine at a minimum whether OSF violated the tenets of its tax-exempt status, or whether an actual crime was committed at maximum. But The Times knowingly flipped the script and made it seem like a crime had to be clear-cut prima facie before any investigation can proceed. The stench of the the gaslighting from The Times had the equivalent effect of the gag-inducing reflex one experiences when opening up a putrid can of Surströmming fish: Instead, it focuses largely on what the Soros network’s grantees said, not what they did. The report, which was published Sept. 17, largely catalogs statements in which Soros grantees offered support for Palestinians in the wake of violent attacks against Israel, suggested tactics for civil disobedience and urged people to turn out for a protest aimed at blocking an Israeli ship from arriving at a port in Oakland, Calif. Would it surprise you to find out The Times lied about the contents of the CRC report? We hope not, because the Soros grantees the CRC report exposed didn’t just offer “support for Palestinians.” Talk about a whitewash. In fact, the groups openly celebrated terrorist organization Hamas’s genocide against Israel on October 7. For example, The BlackOUT Collective, part of the Soros-funded Center for Third World Organizing Hub, “produced a pro-Hamas guide that glorifies the October 7 terror attacks in Israel,” according to CRC. But that’s not all. CRC also exposed Soros for providing the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance (GGJA) with at least $150,000. The Alliance openly endorsed the Hamas-led terrorist attacks on October 7, 2023, and has acknowledged its close ties to the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, which is a front for the U.S.-designated terrorist organization PFLP.  But according to The Times spin, these are just groups that show sympathetic “support for Palestinians.” Gag us with a spoon! The newspaper proceeded to allege that “the report does not offer proof that groups that received money from the Soros-backed Open Society Foundations used those donations to commit acts of violence or terrorism.”  Proof is what happens AFTER an investigation is completed and all relevant evidence is compiled. Secondly, this misdirection by The Times completely contradicts the money-is-fungible principle. It’s the equivalent of saying: “I didn’t give money to specifically fund pro-terror activities. I just fund the groups that do it.” See the problem with that logic?   As Bongino Report content manager and Soros researcher Matt Palumbo once put it, “You can’t give money to an arsonist and then feign surprise when he uses it to fund fires.” Apparently The Times is content with helping Soros continue to fan the flames.

Childish Darcy, Sidekick Go Mean Girls on Bari Weiss, Insist Far-Left Doesn’t Hate America

Childish Darcy, Sidekick Go Mean Girls on Bari Weiss, Insist Far-Left Doesn’t Hate America

In his podcast Power Lines posted on Friday, Status founder, former CNN media reporter, and far-left defender Oliver Darcy and sidekick Jon Passantino descended into some cartoonish smears of Bari Weiss taking over as CBS News editor-in-chief, casting doubt on The Free Press’s success and arguing they have not seen any evidence to support Weiss’s claim the far-left hates America. Passantino went first with the no evidence claim, reading Weiss’s announcement last week in a condescending tone:   Like a jealous middle schooler, Passantino scoffed Weiss fired off this letter from her “tiny Substack with a few dozen staffers” and believes she can now run “one of the oldest, one of the most established, one of the biggest news organizations in the country by going after the far left and far right.” Even though Darcy and Passantino would, if they had the chance to run a TV network, make the Jeff Zucker days running CNN seem sleep-inducing, Darcy bashed Paramount SkyDance boss David Ellison for having “put in a very polarizing figure as head of CBS News” despite having “said repeatedly he did not want to politicize the company.” Darcy then obviously agreed with Passantino, explaining his argument for why, if anyone in our current political climate were to be accused of hating America, it should be President Trump (click “expand”):   That’s a really remarkable statement to make that — first of all, she offers no detail. So who is she talking about when she says the far left hates America? Um, is it Ilhan Omar? Is it AOC? Is it Zoran Mandami? I mean, who is — who is the far left that hates America? Those are, that’s a pretty striking statement for the head of a newsroom to make. And — and, you know, even, even as Donald Trump assaults our bedrock principles of things like free speech as he warps the concept of equal justice under the law by having the DOJ and FBI target his political opponents as he sends in the military into American cities and neighborhoods that — that do not want it. The local representatives are rejecting that kind of force. No one says that he hates America and you can certainly, I think, make a much better case, given all he’s doing that he has a disdain for American values and still, I’ve never heard any major newsroom leader, even the most aggressive, you know, newsrooms don’t say that Donald Trump hates America. And so, for Bari Weiss to casually kind of just be like, oh, yeah, the far left hates America. I don’t know. That’s a pretty — I would love to know more about that, Bari. Who are you referring to? Who are you referring to? That’s a really remarkable statement. And for David Ellison, who says he doesn’t want to politicize this company, that’s — that sure sounds like you’re politicizing the newsroom right off the bat. But I think that’s par for the course, right, Jon?  Darcy continued to dither away and dismiss the idea of viewing Americans on both sides as good and decent when those who support Trumpism should be clapped out of polite society:   Passantino wasn’t done fomenting Weiss hate, whining Weiss has, “in many ways stak[ed] out positions that align with Donald Trump and — and Republicans by going after supposed, you know, enemies or positions on the left...inflaming or hyperventilating about an issue...coming from...the farthest fringe...by just basically making a mountain out of a molehill[.]” Darcy pulled on this thread, bellyaching that Weiss and her team at The Free Press have, while not being part of MAGA media” chosen to affirm certain beliefs of those pesky right-wingers:   Incapable of anything but dripping condescension, Passantino dismissed Weiss’s writing bona fides and leadership as having been contained to “an opinion site” since The Free Press is “not a journalistic enterprise” where “you go to get reporting and news.” The Free Press would obviously disagree, most likely pointing to investigations such as here and here on the photos from Gaza claiming to show starving children. Following a Passantino diss of Weiss for “paint[ing] herself as a victim” at The New York Times, the two argued The Free Press has not been all that popular with their numbers artificially inflated by “wealthy white men who feel like they’re oppressed a reason to feel like they’re oppressed,” so “they fund her” (click “expand”):   DARCY: Yeah, I mean, I take issue a little bit with this as well, Jon. There’s this idea that this is like an organically created website that’s just killing it and The reality is that we don’t really know what the books are. I’d be very curious if it’s actually making money or if it’s still losing money, but this is a well-funded outlet by very wealthy people. This is not some organic news organization that took off the ground, that didn’t have any capital that found an audience and has been really killing it like that. This is something that has been funded by very wealthy people who Bari speaks to because she gives, frankly, wealthy white men who feel like they’re oppressed a reason to feel like they’re oppressed, and they fund her outlet. And so, this idea that she’s — I mean — I get — I mean, I don’t think starting any business or building any business is easy. Obviously, I respect the entrepreneurial spirit that anyone has to go and do that. But at the same time, I think there’s been false picture in the press that this thing is, she’s super digital savvy and that she’s built a business that’s making a bunch of money and reaching a bunch of people. She’s taking — she’s taken millions of dollars from other people who are funding this thing. And so, we should be clear about that as well. I, I don’t know how organic this thing is. It certainly seems very much like astroturf, you know, influence-buying to me. PASSANTINO: — yeah. So, this week at Status, we — we talked to a number of reporters or staffers who had worked with her in the past at The Free Press, and a lot of them had some interesting words to say about her management style, the style of the workplace at The Free Press, and um some of them who we spoke to did not have great words to say about how that had been going. They described a chaotic, very rushed, very last minute, you know, push to, to get, you know, stories across the finish line or,  you know, I maybe ideas on the page, and you know, some of them described a — a pretty — let’s say, you know, uncomfortable or difficult workplace environment. And — and this is for an organization of a few dozen people at this point, and I think that — that does raise real questions as to now what her management ability is going to be like with both high powered talent and a staff who is not necessarily going to be thrilled to welcome her. They’re not intentionally joining this conservative anti-woke outlet, and so, you know what? I’m one of the faithful. I am so thrilled to be here. I can cast aside that this is a startup and that things are gonna be a little challenging, you know, a little hairy at times. I’m all in. Instead, it’s, she’s coming into an established news organization like CBS and — and they’re looking at her and they’re gonna say, what? And now, you know — now, you want me to do what? I’m really curious how — how — how she functions as a manager now and — and — and now — how these, how these very skeptical talent, uh, are going to contend with her. The dissension came next when they debated whether Weiss would have any real power inside CBS and how she’ll react to the first time Trump expresses disgust with something CBS aired. In Darcy’s case, he came down on the side of not only predicting Weiss will have real power, but she would relish any chance to argue the network’s not beholden to him.  For Passantino’s part, he said the Ellisons would be uncomfortable with such a scuffle and Weiss will be no more than a figure head. Passantino also laughably said he hopes 60 Minutes would still “provide a really strong lens on the administration’s activities” and maintain “a really independent spirit”...which would in of itself be a contradiction. Both Darcy and Passantino cut their teeth in conservative media to have only turned their backs on the industry. Now, they act like we’re dangerous baboons, so they clearly have some things to work through. To see the relevant transcript from the October 10 podcast, click here.

Trump Awarded Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor and Egypt’s Order of the Nile

On Monday, in separate announcements, the presidents of Egypt and Israel each awarded U.S. President Donald Trump one of their respective country’s highest honors for his work brokering a peace agreement designed to end the war in Gaza. Pres. Trump attended peace agreement signing ceremonies in each of the two countries on Monday as the 20 surviving hostages taken by terrorist Hamas were released after more than seven hundred days in captivity. They were captured during the unprovoked October 7, 2023 attack on Israel that sparked the war. At the Knesset in Jerusalem, President Isaac Herzog informed Trump that he will award the U.S. president with the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor in recognition of his work to secure the release of the hostages and an end to the war. The formal presentation will take place in the coming months at a time and place yet to be determined. “Through his tireless efforts, President Trump has not only helped bring our loved ones home but has also laid the foundations for a new era in the Middle East built on security, cooperation, and genuine hope for a peaceful future,” Pres. Herzog said in a statement. “It will be a great honor for me to present him with the Israeli Presidential Medal of Honor.” The Presidential Medal of Honor is awarded to those who have made an outstanding contribution to the State of Israel or to humanity through their talents, service, or other means. It is the highest civilian honor awarded by the State of Israel. “President Trump’s legacy will be remembered for generations by the State of Israel and the Jewish people,” Pres. Herzog said: “From his unwavering support for the State of Israel, to the advent of the Abraham Accords which expanded the circle of peace in our region, from the two historic agreements that brought our dear hostages home and saved countless lives, to the decisive strike on Iran’s nuclear program, President Trump’s voice has always been one of courage and leadership, and of steadfast commitment to the pursuit of peace and humanity.” Also on Monday, Pres. Trump attended the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt, where he co-chaired the event with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. It was there, in the presence of leaders from nearly two dozen countries, that the Egyptian president awarded Trump with his nation’s highest state honor - the Order of the Nile, a gold collar featuring three square segments representing pharaonic symbols. Pres. El-Sisi said the award is reserved for heads of state who provide “distinguished services to humanity.” Trump’s Nile Collar was awarded in recognition of “his significant contributions to promoting peace, resolving conflicts, and most recently, his pivotal role in ending the war in Gaza,” El-Sisi’s office said in a statement. Past recipients include Nelson Mandela, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and most recently, Spain’s King Felipe VI. The peace agreements signed Monday are the first phase of a multi-stage plan to bring a permanent end to Israel’s war with Hamas and ensure peace in the region. President Donald J. Mark Levin unveils the REAL reason we’re in a government shutdown

On October 1, the U.S. government entered a partial shutdown, as Congress remains deadlocked over federal budget appropriations. On paper, a shutdown just means Congress is bickering over federal funds, but Mark Levin rips back the curtain, exposing what’s really going on behind closed doors: Democrats are fighting to slip health care for illegal immigrants into the budget. He plays a clip from “MSLSD’s” Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, during which they argue that House Speaker Mike Johnson is lying about the shutdown — specifically that Democrats are pushing to reinstate taxpayer-funded healthcare benefits for illegal aliens.“They’re lying to their own followers, saying Democrats want to shut down the government because they want to give great health care benefits to illegal immigrants. It’s a total lie,” Scarborough said. “I’m wondering where in the Bible does Mike Johnson read Jesus saying, ‘You know what? Tell the truth, except well when it might serve you well politically.”’“Why don’t you spread lies about those who are on the outskirts of society, those who are suffering right now the most? Why don’t you lie about the weakest among us, Mikey?” he spat. What Johnson has said is “absolute fact,” Levin says.“I don’t know why this should surprise anybody. Remember the big, beautiful bill eliminates this in health care and Medicaid for illegal aliens? Biden put it in. Trump took it out. The Democrats are trying to put it back,” he asserts, calling Scarborough’s Jesus insult an “attack on the fact that Mike Johnson is an evangelical Christian.”As for Scarborough’s lamentation that illegal immigrants are the “the weakest among us,” Levin counters, “Our government’s damn near bankrupt in the name of the weakest, in the name of redistributing wealth.”The shutdown, he argues, is a deliberate Democratic strategy to manufacture a crisis for political gain and to “hurt Republicans” like Johnson. Democrats are stalling a routine temporary funding bill — something that is supposed to be “non-controversial” — by pushing for health care for illegal immigrants. On top of that, they’re exaggerating the shutdown’s impact, when only a small portion of the budget is affected.“The fact of the matter is, the vast majority of the government’s open — over 80% of it. The fact of the matter is that Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are going to keep running. Government keeps collecting taxes. The veterans’ programs will continue. Food stamps continue. ... Other programs — redistributing wealth to the poor and the needy and so forth and so on — those are continuing,” he says.“The Democrats decide to use [a government shutdown] because they’re fighting among themselves, because they’re trying to empower their party. They’re trying to get their ... swagger back, and this is all they have,” Levin explains.“But it’s not going to create that much pain” because the majority of the government will continue running. “So, unless you’re so desperate to go to a national park ... or the Smithsonian or some of these other things or unless you’re a bureaucrat who’s affected by a cut or reduction, you’re not going to feel it,” he says.As the shutdown drags into its second week with no end in sight, Levin insists Democrats are playing a dangerous game, using the budget battle to score political points while most Americans carry on unaffected.Want more from Mark Levin? To enjoy more of "the Great One" — Mark Levin as you've never seen him before — subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Portland anarchists’ illegal laser plot disrupts hospital’s lifesaving helicopters

A Portland trauma hospital’s emergency helicopters were forced to divert, significantly adding to their travel time, when local anarchists threatened to “ground” aircraft with laser lights — a federal crime.Oregon Health & Science University told KGW that several air ambulance vendors refused to land on the hospital’s helipad Saturday evening because of the planned attack. The threatened interruption to air travel added 45 to 60 minutes of travel time for these emergency helicopters.'If enough lasers are pointed at the aircraft, we think it will not be able to safely stay in the air for long enough to continue to pinpoint the source for law enforcement, and numbers will make it difficult to focus on a single person.'“For most patients, that will be an acceptable delay. However, for some sensitive situations, such as unstable trauma patients, STEMIs and strokes, the delay could have real impacts,” OHSU stated.Rose City Counter-Info, an online anonymous anarchist blog based in Portland, shared a flyer advertising the protest.“You’re invited: Laser tag!” it read. “Every night for weeks, we are forced to listen to the threatening rhythm of helicopter blades as the federal regime spies on us.”The flyer encouraged readers to “mask up” and “go to a park, a field, or some other public place” to point lasers at “cop copter[s]” at 9 p.m. on Saturday.RELATED: If Trump labels Antifa a foreign terrorist organization, here's what he can do next Photo by PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty Images“It won’t take many of us to ground the helicopters!” the flyer stated. The blog post provided further instructions on how to evade law enforcement while engaging in this illegal act.“If enough lasers are pointed at the aircraft, we think it will not be able to safely stay in the air for long enough to continue to pinpoint the source for law enforcement, and numbers will make it difficult to focus on a single person,” the blog post read. “Be ready to dispose of the laser if you need to — wear gloves and clean it with alcohol in case you have to toss it in a hurry. Consider taking precautions to keep DNA off of it as well.”The Portland Police Bureau told Fox News that no laser incidents were reported that evening. However, the department said it did arrest one individual earlier in the week.RELATED: Flyer posted on Antifa-affiliated website appears to call for laser attacks on police helicopters in Portland Photo by Mathieu Lewis-Rolland/Getty ImagesThe Department of Homeland Security vowed to stop “Antifa domestic terrorists” from taking over cities.“We will bust their networks and bring every one of them to justice,” the DHS wrote in a post on X. The website that shared the flyer has also recently doxxed Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, posting photos of alleged officers and their alleged home addresses.“We put together some posters for people to slap up around town. Name and shame these Gestapo clowns. No peace. No safety. Not welcome in our town,” one blog post stated.
