A 50-year-old illegal immigrant was arrested and charged after allegedly fatally shooting two sisters in the head in their Dallas-area home last week and also shooting his daughter in the arm.  Police booked Jose Santiago Chairez at the Dallas County Jail on charges of capital murder of multiple persons and aggravated assault. Sisters Catalina Andrade Valdez‚ 47‚ and Merced Andrade Bailon‚ 43‚ were found dead in their home in Farmers Branch‚ Texas‚ last Friday after police responded to a call around 4:20 a.m.‚ according to the Dallas Morning News.  The suspect’s daughter was also in the home when the fatal shooting occurred and survived after being shot in the arm. She told police that she and the sisters were shot by her father. Chairez is being held without bond because he is believed to be in the U.S. illegally‚ according to jail records‚ Fox 4 reported.   Valdez and Bailon “were two sisters who were best friends &; were beautiful individuals who loved their family &; were so devoted to them‚” according to Bailon’s daughter Jasmin‚ who set up a GoFundMe to help pay for memorial service costs.   It remains unclear how Chairez knew the sisters as police continue their investigation into the alleged double homicide.  As illegal border crossings continue to rise at record levels under the Biden administration‚ communities across the nation have dealt with the consequences of dangerous criminals making their way into the U.S.  Last month‚ a Honduran man who had been deported twice was charged with murder in Tennessee after the body of a man was found in a burnt-out vehicle in Nashville. The illegal immigrant suspect was a gang member with Sur 13‚ a transnational criminal organization‚ according to the New Orleans office of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.  In August‚ an illegal immigrant and convicted murderer from Brazil was arrested in the small beach town of Rye‚ New Hampshire. The 29-year-old man had previously been convicted of 11 murders in Brazil. Sergeant Michael Kunovich died after attempting to arrest the suspect who resisted and began fighting with the officer‚ attempting to grab his taser and “arm[ing] himself with a pocket knife.”  

Actress Julianna Margulies had some harsh words of condemnation for Hamas supporters who are also proponents of the LGBT social movement‚ saying their stance is contradictory. The 57-year-old “The Morning Show” star made the comments during an appearance on Andy Ostroy’s “Back Room” podcast.  “It’s those kids who are spewing anti-Semitic hate that have no idea if they stepped foot in an Islamic country‚ these people who want us to call them ‘they/them’ or whatever they want us to call them‚ which I have respectfully really made a point of doing. Retired Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court Sandra Day O’Connor passed away on Friday morning. She was 93 years old. O’Connor‚ who made history as the first woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court when she was appointed by former President Ronald Reagan in 1981‚ died in Phoenix‚ Arizona‚ from complications related to advanced dementia and a respiratory illness. O’Connor retired in 2006 after serving nearly a quarter of a century on the nation’s highest court. She is survived by her three sons‚ Scott‚ Brian‚ and Jay; and by her six grandchildren: Courtney‚ Adam‚ Keely‚ Weston‚ Dylan‚ and Luke. “A daughter of the American Southwest‚ Sandra Day O’Connor blazed an historic trail as our Nation’s first female Justice‚” said Chief Justice John Roberts. “She met that challenge with undaunted determination‚ indisputable ability‚ and engaging candor. Actress Felicity Huffman is breaking her silence on her involvement in a college admissions scandal which included dozens of parents using bribery and cheating to help get their children into elite institutions.  Huffman served 11 days in jail in 2019 and completed 250 hours of community service after it was discovered that she paid $15‚000 to William “Rick” Singer so he would falsify her daughter’s SAT results. The Oscar-nominated actress said she didn’t set out to cheat‚ but was rather encouraged by Singer‚ who told her it was the only way for her daughter Sophia to be accepted into a top-tier school. “People assume that I went into this looking for a way to cheat the system and making proverbial criminal deals in back alleys‚ but that was not the case‚” Huffman said during an interview with ABC-7 Eyewitness News that aired Thursday. “I worked with a highly recommended college counselor named Rick Singer. I worked with him for a year and trusted him implicitly. And he recommended programs and tutors and he was the expert. And after a year‚ he started to say‚ ‘Your daughter is not going to get into any of the colleges that she wants to.’ And so‚ I believed him.” The “Desperate Housewives” alum said she participated in the crimes for the benefit of her daughter.  “When he slowly started to present the criminal scheme‚ it seemed like — and I know this seems crazy at the time — that that was my only option to give my daughter a future‚” Huffman told the outlet. “I know hindsight is 20/20 but it felt like I would be a bad mother if I didn’t do it. Singer was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison and fined $10 million for orchestrating the college admissions scheme. A federal investigation dubbed “Operation Varsity Blues” discovered that Singer collected more than $25 million from his wealthy clients and payed out bribes totaling more than $7 million to exam proctors‚ college administrators‚ and athletic coaches. “Full House” actress Lori Loughlin also participated in the scheme‚ allegedly paying more than $500‚000 to have her two daughters accepted into USC as members of the rowing team despite neither of them ever participating in the sport.
