The reboot simply shows Dr. Crane’s life after moving back to Boston.  Kelsey called Frasier 2.0 a love story and has no regrets about showing a new side to Dr. Crane after so many decades. He simply moved on from the sitcom and feels the old and new actors on ground are more than enough. Kelsey was quite disappointed but salvaged the situation by modifying the script to fit Niles’s not being present.
