Men Here Illegally Assault Cops & Get Right Out Without Bail

Two illegal foreigners attacked two of New York’s finest, and they’re back on the street. The Manhattan prosecutors cut them loose without bail. Brian Joseph, 24, and Jose Gonzalez, 19, were arrested Sunday after fighting with cops on traffic patrol at about 9:50 PM. They beat one officer, hurled a moped at the other, and […] The post Men Here Illegally Assault Cops & Get Right Out Without Bail appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Donald Trump in Chicago Fielding Attack Questions

Trump took the stage at the National Association of Black Journalists Convention in Chicago, Illinois. The ABC News race-baiting journalist began by attacking him with a Gotcha question that was more of a statement. The Left will harshly criticize him for telling the truth. That’s all he did, was tell the truth. TRUMP: YOU’RE FAKE […] The post Donald Trump in Chicago Fielding Attack Questions appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Trump Speaks At Black Journalists Conference In Chicago; Harris Skips Event

Former President Donald Trump flew into Chicago on Wednesday to speak at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Conference, while Vice President Kamala Harris declined an invitation reportedly due to scheduling conflicts. After a delay due to apparent audio equipment issues, Trump finally took the stage around 1:15 p.m. CT for a discussion led by ABC News reporter Rachel Scott, Semafor reporter Kadia Goba, and Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner. Scott started the interview by asking Trump to address the controversy around his invite to the NABJ conference and his negative comments directed at black Democrats over the years. “First of all, I don’t think I’ve been asked a question in such a horrible manner, first question. You don’t even say ‘Hello, how are you,” Trump replied. “Are you with ABC? Because I think they are a fake news network, a terrible network.” “I love the black population of this country,” he added. “I’ve done so much for the black population of this country. … I have been the best president for the black population since Abraham Lincoln,” Trump said. OFF THE RAILS! TRUMP: “I don’t think I’ve ever been asked a question in such a horrible manner, first question. You don’t even say ‘Hello, how are you.’ Are you with ABC? Because I think they are a fake news network, a terrible network.” pic.twitter.com/9Prmozw2fE — Breaking911 (@Breaking911) July 31, 2024 The former president focused on addressing illegal immigration, the economy, and inflation and how those issues are affecting black Americans under the Biden administration. “The inflation is absolutely destroying our middle class, our working class, virtually every class. Inflation is a disaster in our country,” he said, adding, “People can’t buy houses. They no longer have the American Dream. Young people, young black people, they don’t have the American Dream anymore.” To address high inflation, Trump said, “We have to bring down the cost of energy. … This was all started by a bad energy policy by Joe Biden.” Vice President Harris asked the conference organizers if she could appear for the fireside chat over Zoom, but she was denied that request. Shortly before Trump took the stage at the conference, he posted on Truth Social that he was being told that Harris would be appearing at the event via Zoom. “They told me and Crazy Kamala Harris that you could not do this Event with ZOOM — It is not allowed or acceptable! She declined, and I am getting ready to land in Chicago in order to be there. Now I am told that she is doing the Event on ZOOM. WHAT’S GOING ON HERE?” Trump asked. NABJ President Ken Lemon released a statement, saying his team was “in conversation with the Harris for President campaign team to schedule a Q&A session between Vice President Harris and NABJ, either in person or virtually, at some point in September.” Lemon’s statement suggests that Harris appearing virtually at Wednesday’s conference was a possibility, but the event organizers were informed earlier this week “that Harris would not be available in person or virtually during our Convention.” The statement also addresses apparent blowback from some NABJ members about the conference inviting Trump to speak. “While we acknowledge the concerns expressed by our members, we believe it is important for us to provide our members with the opportunity to hear directly from candidates and hold them accountable,” the statement added. “We also want to provide our members with the facts.” Trump blasted Harris in an earlier post for skipping the conference, writing, “Crazy Kamala disrespectfully refused to attend the National Association of Black Journalists Conference, but I am on my way to meet with them now in Chicago. Because of which, she’ll probably end up doing, she has no choice, but remember—it is only for that reason!” As the former president’s Trump Force One was preparing to land in Chicago, he added, “Getting ready to land in Chicago — unlike Crazy Kamala!”

New Video Appears To Show Person Running Along Roof Right Before Trump Assassination Attempt

New video has surfaced that shows what appears to be a figure running along the roof just prior to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on July 13. In the clip posted Wednesday on X, former President Trump can be seen standing at the podium at the beginning of his Butler rally. In the background of the footage, which was taken from behind the former president, a person appears to be moving across the roof of the American Glass Research (AGR) building. The video was obtained by Fox News and filmed by James Copenhaver, who was shot twice and critically wounded in the assassination attempt on the former president, Fox News reported. The eyewitness video was taken at 6:08 p.m. and appears to show shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks just minutes before he opened fire, hitting Trump in the side of the head, killing rally-goer Corey Comperatore, and injuring two others, Copenhaver and David Dutch. Questions have been raised about how Crooks managed to get onto the rooftop of the AGR building, therefore gaining a direct line of sight to Trump. BREAKING: New eyewitness video shows figure on roof just moments before Trump was almost killed pic.twitter.com/fw82Z4J9nh — Breaking911 (@Breaking911) July 31, 2024 A Secret Service sniper shot and killed Crooks while other personnel rushed to protect Trump and escort him off the stage — but not before the former president was hit in the ear. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned last week, one day after testifying before the House as she faced backlash over the security failure underlying the Trump rally shooting. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas then announced that Ronald Rowe, the Secret Service’s deputy director, would become acting director. On Tuesday, Rowe said it was clear to him that “other protective enhancements could have strengthened our security” at the rally and listed some directives he made, as previously reported. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP The acting director said he ordered the “expanded” use of drones to detect elevated threats and directed resources to “facilitate” communications, particularly with state and local partners. Rowe said he directed protective detail requests to be approved “expeditiously” and ordered the “maximum use” of requested personnel at protective sites to address “this heightened security environment.” The Secret Service’s Office of Professional Responsibility is conducting a review, and any employee shown to have violated agency protocols “will be held accountable to our disciplinary process,” Rowe said. Rowe also declared that he instructed staff to provide “full cooperation and respond expeditiously on a continuing basis” to congressional investigations. Daniel Chaitin contributed to this piece. Senate Approves Child Online Safety Legislation

Senate Approves Child Online Safety Legislation

On Tuesday, the Democrat-led Senate passed legislation that seeks to shore up protections for children on the internet. In a bipartisan display, 91 senators voted in favor of the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Action (COPPA) 2.0. Three senators opposed the bills while six members did not cast votes. “The Senate kept its promise to parents and passed the Kids Online Safety Act ‘KOSA’ and the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act ‘COPPA 2.0,'” Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in a post to X. “The most important update to federal laws protecting kids on the internet in decades The House must pass them now.” KOSA would “require platforms to enable the strongest privacy settings by default, force platforms to prevent and mitigate specific dangers to minors, provide parents and educators new controls to help protect children, and require independent audits and research into social media companies,” according to a press release from the office of Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), who introduced the bill alongside Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT). The press release also said they “first introduced the Kids Online Safety Act in February 2022 following reporting by the Wall Street Journal and after spearheading a series of five subcommittee hearings with social media companies and advocates on the repeated failures by tech giants to protect kids on their platforms.” A press release from the office of Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) said COPPA 2.0, which Cassidy and Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) unveiled to update the original COPPA bill from 1998 that directed the Federal Trade Commission to enforce online privacy for minors, would “[b]uild on COPPA by prohibiting internet companies from collecting personal information from users who are 13 to 16 years old without their consent” and “[b]an targeted advertising to children and teens.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP COPPA 2.0 would further “[r]evise COPPA’s ‘actual knowledge’ standard to close the loophole that allows covered platforms to ignore kids and teens on their site; Create an ‘Eraser Button’ by requiring companies to permit users to eliminate personal information from a child or teen when technologically feasible; and Establish data minimization rules to prohibit the excessive collection of children and teens’ data,” the press release added. Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT), Rand Paul (R-KY), and Ron Wyden (D-OR) comprised the trio who rejected the legislation. They each offered explanations for opposing KOSA in particular, raising concerns over free speech and censorship. “Government mandates and censorship will not protect children online,” Paul said in a post to X, adding, “The internet may pose new problems but there is an age old solution to this issue. Free minds & parental guidance are the best means to protect our children online.” In a post to X of his own, Lee said he was “proud to have introduced the SCREEN Act, which would require pornographic websites to adopt real age-verification for visitors,” but “it was blocked from consideration and did not receive a vote” when he offered the legislation as an amendment to KOSA. Wyden said he feared KOSA “could be used to sue services that offer privacy-enhancing technologies like encryption or anonymity features that are essential to young people’s ability to communicate securely and privately without being spied on by predators online” and took “seriously concerns voiced by the American Civil Liberties Union, Fight for the Future, and LGBTQ+ teens and advocates that a future MAGA administration could still use this bill to pressure companies to censor gay, trans and reproductive health information.” The bills now head to the GOP-controlled House, which is in recess for the remainder of the summer. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) reportedly told CNBC earlier this month that he loved “the idea” behind them. “We’ll be looking at the details of the exact legislation, but I suspect it’ll have a lot of support,” he added. President Joe Biden urged the House to quickly pass COSA. “While my Administration has taken important steps to address the harms of social media and online platforms, we need action by Congress to protect our kids online and hold Big Tech accountable for the national experiment they are running on our children for profit,” he said in a statement.

Trump Torches ABC News’ Rachel Scott For ‘Very Rude Introduction’ After Asking ‘Very Nasty Question’

Former President Donald Trump slammed left-wing journalist Rachel Scott during an interview at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Conference on Wednesday for introducing Trump by asking him an extremely hostile question at the start of the event. Scott opened the event by highlighting negative things that Trump has said about black people throughout the years, completely removing the context from the remarks that Trump made in the past and suggesting that Trump made the remarks because those whom he was criticizing were black. “Why should black voters trust you after you have used language like that?” Scott asked. “Well, first of all, I don’t think I’ve ever been asked the question in such a horrible manner, a first question,” Trump responded. “You don’t even say, ‘Hello, how are you?’ Are you with ABC? Because I think they’re a fake news network, a terrible network. And I think it’s disgraceful, I came here in good spirit.” Trump highlighted the things that he has done for the black community, including creating opportunity zones with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) and providing funding to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). “I think it’s a very rude introduction,” he added. “I don’t know exactly [why] you would do something like that. And let me go a step further. I was invited here and I was told my opponent, whether it was Biden or Kamala, I was told my opponent was going to be here. It turned out my opponent isn’t here. You invited me under false pretense and then you said you can’t do it with Zoom. Well, where’s Zoom? She’s going to do it with Zoom and she’s not coming. And then you were half an hour late. Just so we understand, I have too much respect for you [points to the audience] to be late.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Trump said that he thought Scott’s question was “a very nasty question” and that she was a “disgrace” for beginning the event in such a “hostile manner.” WATCH: Here’s the full exchange on the insane first question at the #NABJ convention by ABC’s Rachel Scott…. Acting Secret Service Director Blames Local Law Enforcement for Key Failure in Trump Shooting

On July 13, 2024, former President Donald Trump narrowly avoided an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, resulting in one death and multiple injuries. The Senate Judiciary Committee has since held hearings scrutinizing the incident, revealing significant missteps by both local law enforcement and federal agencies. FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony initially cast doubt on whether Trump was hit by a bullet, suggesting it could have been shrapnel. This statement was quickly corrected, confirming that Trump had indeed been struck by a bullet, leading to further frustration and distrust among lawmakers and the public. "Then why did your agency *DELETE* the email??" BREAKING: Senator @MarshaBlackburn confronts Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe about a *DELETED* Counter-Sniper's email calling out the agency's lack of accountability over the Trump assassination attempt. "This agency… pic.twitter.com/n1uLvJq4da — Kyle Becker (@kylenabecker) July 30, 2024 Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe Jr. placed significant blame on local law enforcement, highlighting their failure to adequately communicate and respond to the threat posed by the would-be assassin, Thomas Crook. Evidence presented at the hearing indicated that authorities had identified Crook as a suspicious individual nearly 100 minutes before the shooting. Despite this, crucial warnings were not effectively relayed to the Secret Service, allowing Crook to get dangerously close to the stage. NEW TRUMP ASSASSINATION VIDEO DESTROYS SECRET SERVICE NARRATIVE: Shooter Thomas Crooks can be seen CLEARLY lurking on the rooftop minutes before shooting The Secret Service has held that snipers could NOT see him over roofline. This is proven FALSE!pic.twitter.com/DzWzdIvHmb — Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) July 31, 2024 Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) criticized the response timeline, revealing that local officers had identified and photographed Crook, sharing these details in group messages without promptly alerting the Secret Service. Grassley’s investigation showed that despite early identification, Crook was allowed to remain near the venue, eventually opening fire during Trump’s speech and causing chaos and casualties . The fallout from the incident has intensified calls for reforms within both local and federal law enforcement agencies. Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) condemned the perceived dishonesty from the FBI, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability. Marshall’s statements reflect a growing sentiment among conservative lawmakers who argue that political bias within federal agencies has compromised their effectiveness and integrity. As the investigation continues, the demand for clearer protocols and improved interagency communication is paramount. The incident underscores the critical need for a coordinated response to security threats, especially at high-profile political events. With the 2024 election approaching, ensuring the safety of candidates and the public remains a top priority for lawmakers and law enforcement alike.
