The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Gets a Release Date

News The Umbrella Academy The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Gets a Release Date By Vanessa Armstrong | Published on February 15‚ 2024 icon-comment 0 Share New Share Twitter Facebook Pinterest RSS Feed Netflix has finally announced that we’ll see the fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy this summer. According to the streamer‚ the new episodes will be available starting on August 8‚ 2024. We also got a first look of that season‚ which you can take a gander at above. Netflix‚ via their Tudum website‚ also released a short behind-the-scenes featurette where the cast gave vague descriptors as to what we’ll see in the upcoming season. Elliot Page‚ for example‚ described the season as including “excitement‚ surprises‚ humor.” Aidan Gallagher‚ who plays Number 5‚ called out the vagueness by saying‚ “You can expect us‚ in marketing material‚ to try and dance around getting people excited without saying anything new.” In case you need a refresher‚ the end of season three saw the Hargreeves siblings thrust into another timeline by their abusive father where none of them have any powers. Will they ever get their powers back? Will they be able to avoid the destruction of the universe‚ something they seem prone to do? We’ll have to wait and see‚ as Netflix is keeping the lid tight on any plot details. In addition to Page and Gallagher‚ The Umbrella Academy stars Tom Hopper‚ David Castañeda‚ Emmy Raver-Lampman‚ Robert Sheehan‚ Justin H. Min‚ Ritu Arya‚ and Colm Feore. The fourth season will also see Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally joining the cast‚ playing college professors who get caught up in timeline shenanigans. David Cross will also be in the upcoming episodes playing Sy Grossman‚ a “business owner and family man” looking to reconnect with his estranged daughter. The first three seasons of The Umbrella Academy are now streaming on Netflix. [end-mark] The post <;i>;The Umbrella Academy<;/i>; Season 4 Gets a Release Date appeared first on Reactor.

Fantastic Facts About Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid

Based on real-life outlaws of the same names‚ George Roy Hill’s 1969 film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid pioneered the buddy-comedy genre and was a welcomed relief to the societal landscape of the Vietnam War era. Starring Hollywood heavy-weight Paul Newman and introducing a lesser-known Robert Redford‚ Butch Cassidy went on to garner four Academy Awards. As fun as the film is to watch... Source

‘Deepfake’ Danger: Children Who Exploit Other Kids Online Using Pornographic Imagery

In a show of bipartisanship outrage at a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing‚ Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin and Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham castigated the CEOs of Big Tech companies for their failure to protect children online. Durbin‚ D-Ill.‚ the panel’s chairman‚ didn’t hold back. At the Jan. 31 hearing‚ he alleged that the CEOs of Meta (parent company of  Facebook and Instagram)‚ TikTok‚ Snapchat‚ Discord and X (formerly Twitter) are in a “constant pursuit of profit over basic safety that puts our kids at risk.” He went on to warn that “social media and messaging apps have given predators powerful new tools to sexually exploit children.” The Department of Justice defines child sexual abuse material as “sexually explicit images or videos of a child’s abuse‚ rape‚ molestation and/or exploitation.” It’s already a scourge‚ but with artificial intelligence‚ it’s now easier than ever to mass produce. For a long time‚ the creation and distribution of such material relied on perverse adults‚ sophisticated technology and loose social media platform regulations to distribute. Now‚ however‚ a new culprit has emerged: other children. After years of accessing sexually explicit material‚ minors have begun to use artificial intelligence tools to create pornographic “deepfakes” of their peers and classmates. This disturbing development—children sexually exploiting other children—has been enabled by social media platforms and by easy access to pornographic websites. That’s just what many state and federal laws are designed to prevent. These AI-generated photos and videos‚ dubbed “deepfakes‚” can be produced in a matter of minutes on a multitude of apps and websites. The technology is simple. Anyone can use “face swap” on ready-to-use apps‚ such as DeepSwap and FaceSwapper‚ to place someone else’s likeness in a sexually explicit photo or video. According to an NBC review‚ websites that host deepfake sexual material are easily accessible through Google. What’s worse‚ deepfake websites known for hosting pornographic content run advertisements on messaging apps used by children‚ such as Discord. With the click of a few buttons‚ children can find themselves viewing‚ and later creating‚ deepfake pornography. Over the past several years‚ countless women have been the victims of deepfake pornography. Exploited women range from students to celebrities‚ including Taylor Swift. Heartbreaking stories have emerged of male students using this technology to bully female classmates‚ or perhaps just entertain their friends. The results can be deadly. Mia Janin‚ a 14-year-old British schoolgirl‚ was humiliated when she found her face pasted onto the body of another female. The unknown woman—a victim herself—was engaging in sexually explicit acts. To the casual onlooker‚ however‚ it looked like Mia herself was. Male classmates used AI applications to create sexual abuse material of Mia that they circulated around the school using Snapchat. Unable to bear the subsequent bullying‚ Mia took her own life. In another example‚ 14-year-old New Jersey student Francesca Mani found herself in the same situation. Male classmates used an AI photo-editing app—available on Apple and Google app stores—to generate pictures of nude women with Francesca’s face on it. The photos were distributed among minors using social media platforms and unfiltered access to smartphone app stores. In a report by Home Security Heroes on the “2023 State of Deepfakes‚” online deepfakes increased by 550% from 2019 to 2023‚ and in the past year‚ 98% of deepfake videos were found to be pornographic. Without legal restrictions‚ these numbers will only continue to rise. Children are imitators by nature‚ and they are particularly susceptible to the influence of online social media accounts. Kids naturally imitate the men and women in their life‚ beginning with their own father and mother‚ to learn what it means to be a good person. That’s a feature‚ not a bug‚ in a child’s development‚  but it can be hijacked by bad actors‚ including social media platforms. When children stumble upon sexually explicit material‚ and even learn to crave it‚ we should not be surprised to see them imitate it through their actions or AI creations. The responsibility lies first with parents to play an active role monitoring who and what their child can access online. But it doesn’t end there. The pervasive nature of these online tools requires legislators and social media platforms who are also committed to ensuring that children are protected online. As Graham‚ R-S.C.‚ the committee’s ranking member‚ said at the hearing‚ “These companies must be reined in‚ or the worst is yet to come.” Unfortunately‚ for families like Mia’s‚ it already has. Congress and parents must unite in their effort to protect children from the corrosive influence of AI-generated child sexual abuse material. Have an opinion about this article? Feral Kittens Appear Outside a Cat Sanctuary‚ Not Knowing Their Lives are About to Change

Two feral kittens appeared outside a cat sanctuary‚ not knowing that their lives were about to change. Sour Patch and HariboAsaStaff at a cat sanctuary took in a feral cat that showed up at their door‚ begging to get in. Once the cat was safe and settled‚ they noticed two kittens outside looking for their mom. They reunited them to allow the kittens to nurse until they were weaned. The feral cat was then spayed and continued to live at the sanctuary‚ while the kittens were taken to a foster home where they could socialize and learn to trust.Asa‚ who fosters for Tails High‚ an all-volunteer rescue‚ welcomed them into her care and started working on building trust with them. AsaThe feline siblings‚ Sour Patch (fluffy) and Haribo (tabby)‚ cowered in a corner with their gaze fixed intently on their foster mom.Haribo was skittish‚ but he was more open to touch‚ especially if food was involved. "I couldn't get anywhere near Sour Patch without her hissing and hiding in any corner she could find‚" Asa shared with Love Meow. AsaAfter a good night's sleep‚ Sour Patch watched as her brother lapped up a treat from Asa's hand‚ and she inched closer for a taste. "It was such a huge improvement in a short time."On day three‚ Haribo felt comfortable enough to break his silence‚ letting out his first purr - a step in the right direction. AsaSour Patch still loathed human interaction but tolerated her foster mom for food. Asa knew in her heart that someday that would change. After a week of socialization‚ instead of hiding‚ the kittens started playing with toys in front of their foster mom. AsaHaribo softened up significantly with the help of his favorite snack‚ but Sour Patch refused to let up and earned herself one-on-one snuggle sessions with Asa.Hissing in protest‚ she wasn't pleased with the arrangement‚ but a few pets soothed her worries. AsaAfter spending a whole day with Asa‚ Sour Patch learned to relax around her. "Her purr motor has been revving up faster and faster with each interaction."To further her bond with Sour Patch‚ Asa used the "purrito" method. AsaShe grabbed a soft blanket and wrapped Sour Patch like a burrito‚ rocking her gently in her arms. As she swayed back and forth‚ Sour Patch's resistance softened‚ and the wariness in her eyes melted away. She purred reluctantly‚ but her slow blinking and squinting betrayed her guarded demeanor. Asa"Over the course of the past month‚ we've been taking baby steps - starting off with petting them while they eat‚ hand feeding them‚ holding them‚ and eventually‚ they feel safe and comfortable enough to fall asleep in my arms and purr up a storm‚" Asa shared. Asa"They love to run around the house chasing each other. Haribo will join me in the kitchen if he suspects a meal is being prepared‚ and he always comes running up to me when he hears or smells food." AsaThe feral kittens have blossomed into playful indoor kitties. They have explored the whole house with confidence and even befriended the resident animals. AsaThey continue to learn to be brave with treats‚ toys‚ and plenty of love from their foster family. Now‚ they join the rest of the furry residents‚ begging for food in the kitchen.
