Rehydrating a (Raw) Freeze Dried Beef Tri Tip Sample from 2018 &; Inventory Tracking

Rehydrating a small amount of raw freeze dried Beef Tri Tip from 2018 for a lunch snack. I talk a little about our inventory tracking starting at about 5:50. Want to support this channel? Buy me a coffee :-) https://www.buymeacoffee.com/DanZm AFFILIATE LINKS &; REFERRALS ─────────────── As an Amazon Affiliate‚ I earn from qualifying purchases from the links provided. By clicking on the links‚ you can explore the products and tools I use. https://www.amazon.com/shop/schoolreports --------------------------------------------------- Harvest Right - If you are thinking of buying a freeze dryer‚ please consider supporting us by purchasing through our link. It helps us and costs you nothing! https://affiliates.harvestright.com/995.html ─────────────── Before buying a freeze dryer‚ perhaps research to find out more about the downside of the machine; some people have problems with their machine and it's big and heavy and hard to return! When trying to decide what to freeze dry you can start by asking why. Start by asking yourself this question. Why are you freeze drying food? Knowing this should help you decide what you should freeze dry first. I'm freeze drying because: Just to freeze dry leftovers? You want to make your own food for camping/backpacking? For if/when the SHTF? For a short term emergency? You have your own garden and want to freeze dry the food? You love Costco but don't have a family of 6? You are good at finding the food sales but only have 1 freezer? When you cook homemade chili just for yourself you make 10 gallons? Because you have 3 full freezers and are worried about power outages? If I knew then what I know now‚ I would have freeze dried things in a different order. Or maybe not‚ because I started freeze drying because we had 3 full freezers‚ I was thinking of getting another one‚ and I decided I should buy a walk-in freezer instead. I started looking into walk-ins and realized they were expensive to buy (even used ones) AND expensive to own and operate. Then I found out Harvest Right was making home sized freeze dryers. One of my first thoughts was "I like Mountain House!" I have used their food for backpacking almost 45 years and we even kept some in our travel trailer‚ for just in case. Freeze dried food will stay fresh for many years and be ready and waiting when you need it. We do videos showing how we are using our Harvest Right Freeze Dryer to freeze dry food for long term storage. (We have the medium size machine that we got in August of 2017) We talk about how to load and unload the freeze dryer‚ how to know if the food is dry‚ is it better to freeze dry raw food or cooked food‚ and do a few taste tests. Freeze dried food is also great for prepping or just for camping and snacking! We have been getting our Mylar bags and oxygen absorbers for PackFreshUSA.com and have been happy with the products and service we have received from them. --They are not a sponsor‚ we just like their stuff. A Prayer to Make a Positive Impact – Your Daily Prayer – February 16

A Prayer to Make a Positive ImpactBy Ashley Moore "Yes‚ I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me‚ and I in them‚ will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing." – John 15:5‚ NLT  Unable to contain my deep desire to share my story with others‚ I began writing. At first‚ my passion was fueled by the hope my experiences would offer and the opportunity to share Jesus. As I began to hone my craft‚ I discovered that people considered writing good when it could poignantly answer a question or respond to a need. But‚  I’ve concluded that the gospel is the root answer‚ the ultimate solution to every problem. You see‚ I started out writing with the end goal of sharing my story. But the Lord turned that on its head by having me focus on Him‚ His story first. Then as a byproduct‚ I've been afforded opportunities to share with others. Isn't that just like the Lord‚ though? It has been said that His kingdom is an upside-down kingdom. Meaning that to the world‚ the things of God often seem odd and a bit out of order. But it’s not God’s kingdom that is upside-down; it’s the world that has it backward.  What about you? Is there a desire God has planted in your heart? Maybe a story you want to share? Or perhaps you are in need of encouragement and looking for someone to stir your faith? Maybe you began moving toward this desire only to find your efforts futile. No one flocked to hear your story‚ read your words‚ or give any credence to your great idea. No one noticed or tried to comfort you when you needed it most. But what if instead of allowing that to thwart our desire to make an impact‚ we allowed that to drive us to the source?  Jesus spoke of this heavenly dynamic when he spoke the words in our key verse. He reminded all who listened that He is the vine. He is the supplier of life-giving transformation. He is the one who provides the nutrients through the branches to bear fruit. And just like branches‚ if we race ahead of God‚ we can busy ourselves with lots of things. But I'm afraid that they won't make much difference in eternity. Because we were never designed to survive apart from Him.  And this is good news for those of us with a desire to make a positive impact in the world around us. God has provided the pathway to do so. All we have to do is remain in Him. And oftentimes‚ when we go to Him first‚ He transforms us into people who show up in the ways we need most to comfort others with the comfort we have been given (2 Corinthians 1:4). So as you begin‚ maybe for a second or third attempt‚ to chase down a desire to make a difference‚ try God’s way instead. Before you shower others with the love and encouragement you desperately need‚ start by lingering a little longer over the Scriptures or praying a little more throughout the day. Ask God for help and make everything you do and say point others back to Him. After all‚ the biggest difference we can make in someone's life is to help them draw closer to Him‚ so we might as well practice that for ourselves.  Let's pray: Dear Lord‚ Thank you for the desire you give us to do beautiful‚ meaningful‚ and creative things in the world. And thank you that in our struggles‚ you equip us with what we need to love others well. Lord‚ forgive us when we make things all about us and neglect to point people to you. Lord‚ I pray that as we move toward making an impact‚ we would hold our desires loosely while drawing closer and closer to you. Thank you for directing our steps and sanctifying us into your image as we remain in you. Lord‚ that is the greatest impact we will ever have in the world anyways. Thank you that we reflect your image to a world of people created for communion with you.In Jesus‚ name‚ amen. STUNNING AND BRAVE: ABC News Fangirls Over Fani Willis

Among all the networks‚ it was ABC that fangirled the hardest at Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ turn on the witness stand in a hearing to determine whether her office is fit to prosecute former President Donald Trump.  Watch as World News Tonight anchor David Muir breathlessly introduced the report from Atlanta‚ making sure both to highlight the dramatic moment‚ and to remind viewers of the truest potential victim of Willis’ removal from the case: DAVID MUIR: And we do begin tonight with that stunning moment in court. The high drama playing out in Georgia late today. The prosecutor who brought the case against Donald Trump and his alleged co-conspirators taking the stand herself to defend herself. The dramatic moment when D.A. Fani Willis showed up in the courtroom today‚ insisting she wanted to testify‚ crossing the room there to the witness stand. Taking the oath. On the stand‚ Willis was defiant‚ fielding questions about alleged misconduct. At one point‚ though‚ Willis telling the lawyer‚ questioning her‚ “You're confused. You think I'm on trial‚ these people are on trial for trying to steal an election in 2020”. But could Fani Willis be removed from the case? And what happens to the case against Trump if that happens?  And there you have it- the truest and purest victim here is the case against Donald Trump. Nothing else matters‚ except that the Bad Orange Man be compelled to wear a color-coordinated jumpsuit sometime before Election Day‚ 2024. There is no other logical explanation for the shoddy coverage accorded to L’affaire Willis and Wade. You’ll recall that the networks did not originally cover the breaking allegations against Willis and Wade‚ accusing them of financial improprieties‚ to wit: Willis hiring Wade as a special prosecutor billing $250 an hour‚ and Wade turning around and taking Willis on lavish vacations and cruises. None of the allegations were covered until Willis took the stage at Mother Bethel AME church during Martin Luther King Day Weekend and defended herself from those accusations. Likewise‚ the announcement of the hearing drew no news coverage until the actual hearing featuring Willis on the stand. The coverage itself was laden with a percentage of superlatives fit for coverage of the red carpet on Oscar night. “Stunning”. “Dramatic”. “Defiant”.  The superlatives perhaps blinded folks from noticing some of the more interesting aspects of the testimony offered in court- such as the cash component of the testimony. Viewers only saw Willis’ testimony as to cash and reimbursements‚ but never heard Wade’s‚ which sounded far more damning. Correspondent Steve Osunsami closes his live hit by asserting that the removal of Willis is “a tall order”. Did ABC News even watch the same hearing as everyone else did?  Click “expand” to view the full transcript of the aforementioned report as aired on ABC World News Tonight on Thursday‚ February 15th‚ 2024: DAVID MUIR: Good evening and it's great to have you with us here on a very busy Thursday night. And we do begin tonight with that stunning moment in court. ABC's Steve Osunsami from Georgia tonight.  REPORTER: DA Willis‚ how are you feeling about your testimony?  STEVE OSUNSAMI: In a stunning change of heart‚ the Fulton County prosecutor accused of profiting from hiring her lover to help lead the election interference case against former President Trump and 18 co-conspirators walked right up to the judge and said she was ready to testify.  FANI WILLIS: I'm ready to go.  OSUNSAMI: Fani Willis called the lawyer who called her here a liar.  FANI WILLIS: It is a lie. It is a lie. It's highly offensive when someone lies on you‚ and it's highly offensive when they try.  ASHLEIGH MERCHANT: Objection…  WILLIS: Someone says you slept with somebody the first day you met them. Don't be cute with me and then think you're not going to get an answer.  OSUNSAMI: It is a rare event for a prosecutor to sit on the witness stand and take questions from the lawyers of clients she's trying to convict.  WILLIS: You're confused. You think I'm on trial. These people are on trial for trying to steal an election in 2020. I'm not on trial‚ no matter how hard you try to put me on trial.  OSUNSAMI: The attorney for one of the defendants‚ who's doing most of the digging here‚ wants her client's case thrown out and is asking the judge to remove Willis from the election interference case because she enjoyed romantic getaways that were allegedly paid for my special prosecutor Nathan Wade‚ who Willis hired.  MERCHANT: He paid for the flight and the cruise on Royal Caribbean that time?  WILLIS: So‚ yes‚ he paid. He tells me how much it is‚ and I give him the money back. If you tell me it's a G‚ then you're going to get a thousand dollars. Whatever it is. I didn't ever make him produce receipts to me. Whatever he told me it was‚ I gave him his money back.  OSUNSAMI: Willis told the court that she paid Wade the money back‚ sometimes thousands of dollars‚ in cash.  MERCHANT: You gave him cash before you ever went on that trip?  WILLIS: Uh-huh.  MERCHANT: Okay. And so when you got cash to pay him back on these trips‚ would you go to the ATM? WILLIS: No‚ lady.  MERCHANT: So the cash that you would pay him‚ you wouldn't get it out of the bank?  WILLIS: I have money at my house.  OSUNSAMI: Willis says that she and Wade ended their romantic relationship in August of last year. It was his ex-wife who helped make the relationship public during their bitter divorce by sharing receipts of some of those trips with the boss.  MERCHANT: So‚ all of the vacations she took‚ she paid you cash for?  NATHAN WADE: Yes‚ ma'am.  OSUNSAMI: One of the big arguments is over when Willis and Wade started dating. The two say it was months after she hired him. But Willis' former friend and employee‚ who says she was forced to resign‚ testified today through a video call that the two have been romantic since 2019‚ a year before the election.  STEVE SADDOW: Did you observe them do things that are common among people having a romantic relationship?  ROBIN YEARTIE: Yes.  SADDOW: Such as? Can you give us an example?  YEARTIE: Hugging‚ kissing.  MUIR: So let's bring in Steve Osunsami live from Georgia tonight. And Steve‚ aside from all of this that played out this afternoon on live television‚ the cable networks carrying it‚ the bigger picture here. What happens if the D.A. Is disqualified? Does the case against Trump and the alleged co conspirators move forward here?  OSUNSAMI: Well‚ David‚ the state could assign the case to a different prosecutor‚ who would then decide whether or not to move the case forward. But there are plenty of choices of prosecutors in the state of Georgia‚ if you're looking for one who wants to stop this. Even so‚ it would still be a tall order to remove Willis from this case. David?  MUIR: We’ll see. Steve Osunsami leading us off tonight‚ Steve‚ thank you.

New Lakewood Church Shooting Details Explain Sudden Media Disinterest

Mass shootings‚ or at least attempted mass shootings‚ are the kind of story that the media will run with for days because it helps push a policy item that is at the top of the left’s agenda: gun control. But the story has to sit just right. If any narrative element is off or if new‚ inconvenient details emerge‚ then the story has to be pulled. Such is the case with Sunday’s shooting at Lakewood church in Houston‚ Texas. You recall the initial details: armed individual wearing a trench coat enters into a church and starts shooting. Off-duty law enforcement‚ some might call them good guys with a gun‚ quickly stepped in and neutralized the shooter. Unfortunately‚ a child was shot in the head and another gentleman was grazed in the leg. Even worse for the media‚ the inconvenient details began to roll in. The shooter’s identity was a mystery‚ with both male and female identities. Which one did the shooter decide upon at the time of the shooting? It appears to have been the female identity. Additionally‚ the shooter was a migrant. Who may have voted in Texas. The story was going sour even before news of the anti-semitic writings broke. Under these circumstances‚ the corporate national media have no interest in covering a transgender church shooter. The story disappeared‚ and was quickly supplanted by the shooting at the end of the Super Bowl victory parade held for the Kansas City Chiefs. But new details have emerged in Houston. Per Houston’s CBS affiliate‚ a disturbing tranche of evidence was found at the shooter’s home. To wit: Unknown substance inside plastic bottle Sample of unknown substance from inside plastic bottle Thumb drive Texas driver license 5.56 cartridge Notebook Two white-colored bulletproof soft-shelled vests iPad Magazine containing one 9mm bullet One 9mm bullet and three .22 bullets One 9mm bullet .223 cartridge Apple cellphone Hewlett Packard laptop Green notebook White mask with “Free Gaza Trump” Printed text message Notes One .22-caliber bullet Two 5.56 cartridges Seven sheets of hand-made poster signs iPad Book titled "All Remainers are Neo-Nazis" EZ Pawn receipt One 9mm bullet and eleven 5.56 cartridges Tablet One 5.56 cartridge Those are a lot of materials‚ and perhaps even a manifesto explaining the motive. The national outlets speculated as to the motives of the shooting‚ but quickly moved on to less inconvenient stories. It would’ve also been nice to know‚ for example‚ about all the times law enforcement was called to the shooter’s home. The national media lost interest in this case as soon as the identity of the shooter was made evident.  What might be in those writings across the assorted electronica seized by law enforcement? Why the extra ammo? What’s on the poster art? A rigorous press might show an interest in covering such things and asking such questions- unfortunately‚ we haven’t had that in a long time.  Instead we get silence and get shuttled off to the next story.

Oldest bead in the Americas found in Wyoming

The oldest known bead in the Western Hemisphere has been discovered at the La Prele Mammoth site in Wyoming. Radiocarbon dating results indicate the tubular bone bead is approximately 12‚940 years old. There are very few Early Paleoindian beads known to survive‚ and most of them are not securely dated because they are made of minerals (caliche‚ hematite) rather than bone. The bone beads on the archaeological record were found in slightly more recent contexts than the La Prele example. The La Prele Mammoth site was first excavated in 1987. They uncovered a Paleoindian camp where the remains of a young Columbian mammoth had been processed using chipped stone tools. Radiocarbon dates of the mammoth bones found the site was occupied around 12‚940 years before the present. The bead was found in a hearth area of the site about 11 miles from the mammoth remains. Stone flake tools‚ bone needles and the butchered and burned remains of prehistoric bison were unearthed there‚ but the bead was not derived from bison bones. Researchers employed zooarchaeology by mass spectrometry (ZooMS) to identify the animal the bone came from‚ and the material turned out to be lagomorph bone‚ most likely from a hare rather than a rabbit. This finding represents the first secure evidence for the use of hares during the Clovis period‚ which refers to a prehistoric era in North America‚ particularly prominent about 12‚000 years ago. It’s named after the Clovis archaeological site in New Mexico‚ where distinctive stone tools were discovered. The bead is about 7 millimeters in length‚ and its internal diameter averages 1.6 millimeters. The research team considered the possibility that the bead could have been the result of carnivore consumption and digestion and not created by humans; however‚ carnivores were not common on this site‚ and the artifact was recovered 1 meter from a dense scatter of other cultural materials. Additionally‚ the grooves on the outside of the bead are consistent with creation by humans‚ either with stones or their teeth. Beads like this one were likely used to decorate their bodies or clothing. The findings have been published in the journal Scientific Reports and can be read in full here.
