Tiffany Henyard‚ the mayor of an Illinois village‚ faces accusations of shutting down local businesses if they refused to make donations to her political campaign. Henyard‚ a former burger joint owner turned politician‚ was elected mayor of Dolton‚ a village of 20‚000‚ in 2021. Lawrence Gardner‚ who runs a trucking business‚ told the New York Post she shut down his operation for refusing to make a $3‚500 payment to her political campaign. She likes nobody. If you are not doing what she say‚ if you are not doing how she’s saying to do it‚ you are a problem. She don’t like them.” Gardner said Henyard and Village of Dolton Police Chief Lewis Lacey have blocked dozens of local businesses from operating because they failed to make the required payments. The Post heard similar stories from numerous locals who claimed they had received harassment from police acting on Henyard’s orders. Belcher also said former Dolton Chief of Police Robert Collins admitted to her the mayor had asked him to target people. Henyard reportedly attends meetings dressed like a gangster character from a movie‚ but locals told the outlet her actions resemble the part. Daily Mail reports that she sparked outrage for allegedly taking a $300‚000 salary. Dolton trustees clashed with Henyard over excessive spending. WGN News reports: From Daily Mail: The village board says the problem is a matter of trust‚ with citizens and trustees being unable to vet her spending. ‘At the end of the day‚ vendors aren’t being paid. The board approved it‚ but vendors aren’t being paid‚’ Dolton trustee Jason House said. Fellow trustee Brittney Norwood added: ‘How about you be a good leader and bring [proposals] to the forefront so not just us‚ but residents and everyone else in America know how the money is being spent.’ DailyMail.com has reached out to Mayor Henyard for comment. Henyard is always snapped in tasteful‚ expensive looking outfits. She has posted photos of herself getting out of chauffeur driven SUVS‚ with one Instagram post even appearing to show her with a dog laden with jewelry. Henyard‚ who often refers to herself as ‘God’s favorite’‚ has now sparked further outrage by proposing a new law that would cap the next mayor’s salary at $25‚000‚ unless she remains in the role‚ Fox 32 reports. Many believe the proposal‚ which has been branded ‘illegal’ is an attempt to dissuade anyone from running against her in the 2025 race. Now trustees in her town have filed a lawsuit against her alleging forgery and claiming she withheld financial records. The records show the officers are paid every two weeks‚ which‚ without overtime‚ is 80 hours. But when they’re put on Henyard’s detail‚ that 80 hours balloons to well over 100 hours‚ in many cases. Other officers are putting in for 200 hours of work per pay period. And last May‚ Officer Terry Young was paid for 303 hours worked over a two-week period. That resulted in a single paycheck of more than $13‚000. “How? How does a person put in a two-week pay period 303 hours?” asked Dolton Trustee Tammy Brown. “That’s impossible. That’s impossible. Does he ever go to sleep?” There are a total of 336 hours total in two weeks‚ meaning Young was not being paid for only 33 hours over that period. Other officers on the security detail also racked up overtime paychecks in the multiple thousands of dollars. In late August‚ FOX 32 tried to question Henyard about her police detail as she went door to door in Dolton giving out water on a 100-degree day. She was surrounded by police‚ firefighters‚ public works employees and two videographers documenting her trip for Dolton’s Facebook page. Henyard ignored our questions.
