Another crossover hit… and it just came out today. Morgan Wallen and Post Malone just released a song called “I Ain’t Comin’ Back,” which is featured on Morgan’s forthcoming album I’m the Problem that’s due out everywhere on May 16th. Of course, the pair had a massive hit with “I Had Some Help,” their first collab together that was released last year on Posty’s debut country album F-1 Trillion. The song debuted at the top of the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it would spend 6 weeks at #1, as well as the Hot Country Songs chart, where it remained for 7 weeks. The song is also nominated for Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Musical Event of the Year at the upcoming ACM Awards. It was a smash hit and crossover success by any metric, so it makes a ton of sense that they would team up again, this time for a song on Morgan’s album. “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” was written by Morgan and Post Malone along with Hardy, Ernest, Louis Bell and Ryan Vojtesak, and I think I’m already more into this one than “I Had Some Help,” but maybe that’s just because I haven’t heard it a million times over yet… Like most, if not all, songs Morgan puts out these days, this new one is already at the top of the iTunes country charts, followed directly by the other six already-released songs from the new record: They’re also at the top of the all-genre iTunes chart, and Morgan has four other songs in the top ten there as well: I won’t be surprised at all if “I Ain’t Comin’ Back” debuts at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 next week and likely stays there for more than just the first week, and it’s to be expected when two of the biggest artists in music collaborate for a second time, especially considering how much success they had already.
