Boys Hailed As Heroes After Stopping Burglary At Beloved Ice Cream Shop

If you’ve ever heard the phrase “kindness begets kindness,” then this story is for you.
Aaron Roesch opened Aunt Jamie’s Frozen Custard & Waffles in St. Louis just a month ago. In that time, he’s become a real hit in the neighborhood, particularly with kids. Aaron’s friendliness paid off when two of his regular customers noticed something wasn’t right at Aunt Jamie’s. Adonis, 9, and 10-year-old Jayceon “JC,” told Fox 2 they walked to Aunt Jamie’s, but say the door closed. While looking at the ice cream shop, the boys noticed something was wrong. What they did next took a lot of bravery.
Adonis And JC Saw A Broken Window At Aunt Jamie’s
“We came out here to try to buy some ice cream, and his window was just shattered,” Adonis told Fox 2. “So we just started hearing noise, and I said, ‘Who’s in here?’”
Not wanting anyone to get hurt at Aunt Jamie’s, Adonis called Aaron to let him know what was happening. But he didn’t answer, so Adonis called the police instead. The two young boys saw the burglar inside and stayed there until the police arrived. Thankfully, they apprehended the suspect, and the kids stayed safe.
“If I didn’t have a friendship with these kids, that guy would have walked away scot-free,” Aaron said.
JC told the news station that his friend Aaron didn’t deserve any trouble.
“I don’t know why people do this to him… he is a nice guy, he shouldn’t be treated how people treat him,” JC said.
The story touched Fox 2 viewers’ hearts. They shared their pride in the comment section.
“Caring parenting at its finest great job parents,” someone wrote.
“Awesome job boys, stepping up and doing the right thing, good to know there are parents still trying to bring their children up right,” another person agreed.
“I hope the police made sure the boys got their ice cream,” a fan cheered. “Heroes they are! Great job and thank you, boys.”
Congratulations to Adonis and JC for their bravery and to Aaron for making Aunt Jamie’s a friendly and safe place.
