Miley Cyrus Was Once Blamed For Smoking On The ‘Hannah Montana’ Set… But It Was Really Her Dad

Lots of good, clean fun going on at Disney, eh? It seems to be a trend that when child stars leave their respective networks, they all have a “rebellious” phase where they act out, wear scandalous clothes, and party like there is no tomorrow. If they also kickstart their music career through the network, their music reflects this experimental phase. But let’s be honest… growing up, we all went through a wild phase; most of us were not living in the public eye. While Lindsay Lohan, Brittany Spears, Amanda Bynes, Bella Thorne, and more all fall into this category of child stars gone wild. When I think about someone like Justin Bieber, I’m surprised he’s turned out as well as he has. But an artist who comes to mind who, more or less, grew out of her rebellious phase is Miley Cyrus. But based on some recent news that Cyrus shared, apparently, she was being blamed for being wild long before her wild days actually started. Miley Cyrus got her start by playing the character Hannah Montana on the hit Disney show, and it was a family affair with her father starring as her dad on screen, too. Heck, even her legendary godmother Dolly Parton made an appearance on the show. Recently, Miley stopped by her mom and sister, Brandi’s, podcast, Sorry We’re Cyrus, and the trio took a walk down memory lane, revisiting the Hannah Montana days. At one point during their conversation, Miley was asked what memory still makes her laugh, and if I were Miley, I think this moment would still make me laugh, too. At one point during filming, the production team got very upset when the smell of the devil’s lettuce started to stink up the set. When they started asking around who was responsible for it, some thought it was Miley’s doing. However, it was not…. “Dad smoking pot, and everyone blaming me for it. What? It’s hilarious.”  Miley then jokes that it was before the days her mom began smoking, so he was hiding it from her. “And he wasn’t sharing because that was because Tish wasn’t toking yet.”  Tish then shares that she was getting calls from the set claiming that Billy Ray was lighting up, and she was appalled. She didn’t believe him and told the producers that it was Mitchel Musso. “It WAS Mitchel Musso. It was Mitchel Musso. It was both.” Miley quickly fired back at her mom. When filming the show, Miley was merely 13 years old. But apparently, the cast was getting down like they were much older than their years. HA, what a trip. I’m sure the former producers at the show love hearing this come out all these years later. Especially after that whole Nickelodeon documentary… If you want to hear it for yourself, she shares this information around the 1-hour, 7-minute mark. Dolly Parton & Mötley Crüe Team Up To Reimagine The Band’s 1985 Hit “Home Sweet Home” In An Effort To Raise Money For Charity

Dolly Parton & Mötley Crüe Team Up To Reimagine The Band’s 1985 Hit “Home Sweet Home” In An Effort To Raise Money For Charity

Dölly Crüe? I’m here for it… Today, the queen Dolly Parton  teamed up with Mötley Crüe to reimagine their 1985 hit “Home Sweet Home” in an effort to raise money for Covenant House, which provides safe shelter, meals and more to help youth experiencing homelessness, and a portion of sales from this song will go directly to that charity. Of course, Dolly has been leaning into her rock sensibilities much more over the last several years, which was evidenced on her 2023 Rockstar album, which featured mostly covers of rock classics along with features from legends like Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Mick Fleetwood, Steve Perry and so many more. Actually, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist John 5 lent their talents on the song “Bygones” with Dolly, so she said she was thrilled to return the favor for the 40th anniversary of ‘Home Sweet Home’ in such a meaningful way: “It was an honor and a joy working in the studio on Mötley Crüe’s 40th Anniversary re-release of ‘Home Sweet Home.’ I was so pleased that they would ask me to sing on such a classic.” The band called it a “career high” to have an icon like Dolly on this special edition of “Home Sweet Home”: “For an icon like Dolly Parton to sing on a song that has not only meant so much to us but to all the fans through the years, is a career high that means a lot to us. We couldn’t be happier to celebrate the 40th anniversary of ‘Home Sweet Home’ in this special way, and we’re excited to share this version of the song with all the Dolly and Mötley fans around the world. That we were able to unite with Dolly to raise awareness for homeless youth and the amazing work of Covenant House, which provides them safe housing and care, makes it even more special. We hope you’ll enjoy ‘Home Sweet Home’ featuring Dolly Parton as much as Dolly and we enjoyed creating it.” This song is part of a collection of singles coming on September 12th, which is called From the Beginning, and it’s also the same day that the band will kick off their 10-show residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas. Of course, the power ballad “Home Sweet Home” was originally released in 1985 on their Theatre of Pain album, and again in 1991 on their Decade of Decadence compilation album. It’s a bit of a wild pairing, but Dolly has always talked about how much her late husband Carl Dean loved rock, so I imagine she must’ve felt drawn to this in a way to honor him or feel close to him since he passed just a few months ago in March. I actually enjoyed a lot of the songs on Rockstar, and while they’re obviously not the originals (they were all much younger then, obviously), it was fun and who else other than Dolly could get that much legendary talent on one project? It was special for that reason alone… I’m a bit of rock girlie myself and I love all of that music too, so I will never be mad about something like this that includes my queen, Mrs. Dolly. You can listen to the updated version of “Home Sweet Home” below. “Home Sweet Home” “Bygones” The post Dolly Parton & Mötley Crüe Team Up To Reimagine The Band’s 1985 Hit “Home Sweet Home” In An Effort To Raise Money For Charity first appeared on Whiskey Riff.

“George’s Middle Name Is Not The F-Word, Honey” – Laci Kaye Booth & Aaron Watson Trade TikToks Over Her New Ode To The King

Technically, it is George Harvey Strait, but when you’re that hot at 70+, I think we can make an exception… A couple weeks ago, Laci Kaye Booth released a new single called “George ****** Strait,” which is a tip of the cowboy hat, so to speak, to the timeless appeal of handsome older men, specifically the ageless wonder that is the King of country music himself, Mr. George Strait. Laci has been making a name for herself in Nashville for years now, and while she had success with her song “Shuffle,” from her 2021 self-titled record several years ago, it was her 2024 record The Loneliest Girl In The World that really showed of her impressive writing chops and incredibly unique voice. She recently released another great song called “Daddy’s Mugshot” that’s gotten some attention on social media, but I think this new one about George Strait is just universally relatable and I’m shocked no one has put out a song like this sooner… somehow, at 73 year old, he just continues to get better with age… like a fine wine. If you disagree, you might need to get your eyes checked… So when Laci first started teasing this one, I immediately needed to hear the whole thing and I was looking forward to the release. Of course, she delivered, and I find it all to be 100% true and it’s like someone took a peak inside my brain and put it on paper: “I bet it’s Texas, the way he’s walking Tall drink of water and a ten gallon hat Faded ring on his pocket Can’t mind my business when he’s looking like that Boy, they still make ’em just like they used to He got the manners of a Southern Baptist saint He got a wrench, I got a screw loose He got me bucking right out the starting gate Lord, if I can’t have him I’ll get on my knees and pray God, give me a man that just gets better with age Like George ****** Strait” Of course, it’s all in good fun, though Laci revealed during a set at CMA Fest over the weekend that it’s caused a stir with some of her older female fans who don’t seem to appreciate the fact that she used the F-word in the title with his name… there was a bit of an uproar on Facebook, and the comments section was dicey, to say the least: “I just released it yesterday, and it’s making a lot of old biddies on Facebook mad. Cause it’s called ‘George ****** Strait.'” @lacikayebooth Live at CMA Fest #countrymusic #singersongwriter #newmusic #original #georgefingstrait #acoustic #gfs #country #femalecountry ♬ original sound – Laci Kaye Booth I hadn’t heard much else in terms of negativity about it since then, but recently, Texas country legend Aaron Watson let her have it on TikTok, and he’s pretty vocal on there when it comes to the happenings of younger country artists, so I can’t say I’m all that surprised and he usually has some pretty funny takes. But I think I’ll have to disagree with him here. I think this song is just for the girls and if you get it, you get it… and if you don’t, yeah… you might find it a little offensive, I guess. Here’s what he said: “Y’all, I just heard a new song and the title is literally ‘George ******* Strait.’ That’s the title. George’s middle name is not the F-word, honey. It’s Harvey. George Harvey Strait. Harvey. Poo poo mouth.” And Laci made her own video with his sound, mocking him criticize her, and I have to wonder how long she spent trying to get it right, because she nailed it all the way down to his mannerisms and facial expressions (which he also seems to be hamming up for comedic effect), in addition to get the words exactly right. The timing was impressive… I’m not sure if these two have ever met or anything (they’re both from Texas), but this is funny either way: @lacikayebooth #duet with @Aaron Watson #aaronwatson #georgefingstrait ♬ original sound – Aaron Watson Honestly, I can see how many find it a little bit crude and brash to say George Strait in that manner, but it’s also not uncommon for artists themselves to label things with the F-bomb, like Eric Church, for example, who used to (and still might) sell shirts that say “Eric ***** Church,” and it’s supposed to be light-hearted and funny. Sturgill Simpson famously sold a “Who The F Is Sturgill Simpson?” shirt. I get it if you don’t like that word and don’t use it, I try not to say it too much myself, but with everything else going on in this world, I hardly think it’s worth getting upset over. Plus, in my humble opinion, she just spoke the truth of what we’re all thinking. If it’s not for you because of that one word, by all means, feel free to hit “skip,” but I have a feeling Strait would be honored by the sentiment, and I absolutely love the song. At this point, I think we just need to hear his take to settle it once and for all… Laci is a real talent, and you’re going to be hearing a lot more from her and I’m excited to see she’s gaining some real traction in terms of the popularity of her music. But when you write something as honest, and true, as this song about how hot George Strait is, has always been, and continues to get, you’re bound for success and I think it’s a hit. “George ******* Strait” “Daddy’s Mugshot” The post “George’s Middle Name Is Not The F-Word, Honey” – Laci Kaye Booth & Aaron Watson Trade TikToks Over Her New Ode To The King first appeared on Whiskey Riff.
