BREAKING: Dozens More Arrested in Cities Church Invasion Case

A total of 39 people now face charges in the anti-ICE invasion of Cities Church in St. Paul last month, according to a superseding indictment that the federal district court unsealed Friday. “YOU CANNOT ATTACK A HOUSE OF WORSHIP,” Attorney General Pam Bondi wrote on X after the court unsealed the indictment. “If you do so, you cannot hide from us—we will find you, arrest you, and prosecute you.” Bondi announced that federal agents had already arrested 25 of the 30 new defendants included in the new indictment. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon, who leads the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division, wrote, “I was up in the early hours of this morning to monitor the arrests in this case and keep [Pam Bondi] informed. Super proud of my colleagues in the criminal section of the Civil Rights Division and our local prosecutors in Minneapolis for this rapid and precise work!” The indictment includes the nine people already arrested and charged, but adds another 30 individuals who allegedly deprived congregants of their rights. ?BREAKINGTHIRTY-NINE individuals now face charges for the invasion of Cities ChurchHere's the superseding indictment.?1/7 pic.twitter.com/EbK7gqUGdM— Tyler O'Neil (@Tyler2ONeil) February 27, 2026 Doug Wardlow, director of litigation for True North Legal, the firm representing Cities Church, welcomed the arrests. “It shows just how serious the department is about protecting houses of worship,” Wardlow told The Daily Signal in a phone call Friday. “It underscores just how large and disruptive the invasion of Cities Church really was.” His official statement, first provided to The Daily Signal, noted that the indictment “sends a clear message: houses of worship are off limits for those who would use chaos and intimidation to advance a political agenda.” “The invasion of Cities Church was a planned, coordinated effort to disrupt a worship service and interfere with religious exercise that placed congregants, including children, in fear for their lives,” the attorney added. “The First Amendment does not give anyone—regardless of profession, prominence, or politics—license to storm a church and intimidate, threaten, and terrorize families and children worshipping inside.” According to the superseding indictment, filed Thursday, agitators planned a “takeover style attack,” with some agitators posing as congregants sitting down in the sanctuary to worship and others planning to enter after the commotion began. Cities Church invaders superseding indictmentDownload Nekima Levy Armstrong, who has admitted her leadership role in the event, began the disruption. At her direction, “other co-conspirators immediately joined in by yelling and blowing whistles in a takeover attack on the church, all of which quickly caused the situation in the church to become chaotic, menacing, and traumatizing to church members.” Former CNN host Don Lemon, who also faces charges in the attack, claims he was there as a journalist and not to take part in the disruption. Both Lemon and Armstrong have pleaded not guilty. Agitators said they targeted the church because one of its pastors also works for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The Church Invasion A federal grand jury previously indicted nine people, including Armstrong, on two charges: violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which also protects access to churches; and violating the Ku Klux Klan Act, which criminalizes efforts to deprive Americans of their fundamental rights—in this case, the right to the free exercise of religion. According to the indictment, between 20 and 40 agitators, who claimed to be opposing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, refused to leave when asked and shouted, “Who shut this down? We shut this down!” The indictment also mentions that agitators screamed at crying children, blocked parents from getting to their children in Sunday School, and that one agitator told a child his parents were Nazis and going to hell. The new indictment includes the original charges, but brings them against 30 more defendants. It also adds some new information. For instance, the indictment states that on Jan. 17, the night before the church invasion, Chauntyll Louisa Allen and Satara Diann Strong Allen “conducted reconnaissance around the Cities Church in preparation for the next day’s takeover operation at the church and made a video documenting their observations.” According to the indictment, the two defendants noted “the location of parking areas, where they could ‘pull up,’ and [Allen noted] that ‘my thoughts are to be able to clog up this whole alleyway right here.” Obstructing access is a key aspect of a FACE Act violation. This is a breaking news story and will be updated. The post BREAKING: Dozens More Arrested in Cities Church Invasion Case appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Darcy PANICS Over CBS Brass Buying Warner Bros. Discovery, Fears CNN Turning MAGA

Darcy PANICS Over CBS Brass Buying Warner Bros. Discovery, Fears CNN Turning MAGA

Status founder Oliver Darcy lost his noodle Thursday night in his newsletter over Netflix backing out of its proposal to purchase Warner Bros. Discovery and its litany of properties that include CNN, paving the way for the bid from David Ellison’s Paramount Skydance (which includes CBS). Darcy argued “CNN staffers have every reason to be worried” and predicted it’ll undergo a “MAGA-fication” akin to what he said has happened at CBS. Back in reality, though, anyone who’s watched CBS News thus far under Bari Weiss would find that, outside of the first few weeks of Tony Dokoupil’s CBS Evening News, nothing has changed in terms of its tone and tenor. It has still, day after day, exudes liberal bias. Darcy said near the top of his piece “CNN Braces for Ellison’s Control” that, chiefly among the changes, the merger “landed like a meteor” at CNN as, along with the reality it “all but guarantees brutal layoffs,” “alarm bells went off as staffers began to panic over the suddenly very real prospect that they could be working for Bari Weiss before the end of the year.” Darcy dished plenty of anonymous sources looking for fainting couches: Within minutes of the news crossing the wire, my phone lit up with messages from anxious employees fretting about the future. ‘We are doomed,’ one staffer candidly said. “We are f**ked,” said another. “Everybody is reeling about the obvious things,” said a third.” “The panic at CNN right now is off the charts,” one insider told Status of the larger mood that had arrested the network. Of course, he validated their concerns: “CNN staffers have every reason to be worried about the future. What is unfolding is as plain as day. Trump, who has despised CNN more than another other institution throughout his political career, wants to neuter the network. He wants to break it.” After citing Trump’s past comments about Warner Bros. Discovery being up for sale and claiming he has White House sources that told him the administration was ebullient Thursday about Paramount Skydance’s triumph, Darcy argued this was a conspiracy all along that “Trump...helped all but deliver CNN into the hands of an ally.” Democrat strategist and D.C. Huddle co-host Dan Turrentine explained the real reason on X Thursday night: As I said on @theDChuddle this morning, Paramount put on a master class in DC bully ball influence. I used work with the Larry’s Oracle team when a tech lobbyist. They were incredibly sophisticated and potent. Son clearly learned well. Combined with the deep pockets, it was a… — dan turrentine (@danturrentine) February 26, 2026 Such nuance doesn’t exist in the DNA and his farcical underlings. Instead, we’re left with this statement divorced from reality that Ellison “has already demonstrated a willingness to steer the news outlet under his control, CBS News, into more MAGA-friendly waters” and thus “it’s quite obvious” CNN will suffer the same fate. Darcy even mourned CNN as it’s currently constructed, pitching yet another mini-fit over the fact that Scott Jennings is still allowed to exist and that CNN isn’t like it was during the snarky, condescending, and venomous days of Jeff Zucker: To be sure, CNN under WBD has already retreated from the aggressive Zucker-era postured that enraged Trump. The network has platformed bad-faith MAGA pundits like Scott Jennings. It has increasingly aired Trump’s live remarks, filled with lies, at length. And more. That’s not to say CNN has become friendly to Trump—some anchors remain tough as always—but the fire that had once defined the organization has undeniably dimmed. Even that hasn’t satisfied Trump, who demands total loyalty. With Ellison in charge, the changes are likely to be far more dramatic. If staffers didn’t like the Chris Licht era, wait until Weiss is steering the ship. Reiterating “layoffs also loom” because “CNN will almost certainly be merged in some fashion with CBS News, creating enormous duplication across the two operations” and insinuated some may leave like Anderson Cooper, whom he said “didn’t want to work for Weiss” and thus ducked out of 60 Minutes. He closed by also mourning the possibility a second CNN streaming platform in CNN All-Access could go the way of CNN+ and reiterating this fear porn that illustrated the disgustingly partisan nature of CNN staffers that they’re more worried about “the MAGA-fication of CNN” than layoffs  But as for his claims about CBS News now being MAGA TV, he and his fellow media reporters at every outlet from Variety to The Washington Post, The Wrap, etc. seem to ignore, which is CBS’s recent track record. We could take this any number of places, such as their multiple contributions to the liberal media’s lynch mob against the U.S. men’s hockey team (here, here, and here) or their negative reactions to President Trump’s State of the Union. Or we could cite the examples of bias by omission on stories such as pro-democracy newspaperman Jimmy Lai being sent to jail by the Chinese Community Party for what will be a death sentence, the raw sewage bursting into the Potomac, a report the Biden administration spied on Susie Wiles, or that an Obama White House counselor quit her job at Goldman Sachs due to close ties to Jeffrey Epstein. There are also plenty of rampant ideological fluffing as well, such as softball interviews alongside liberal historian Jon Meacham and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson or fawning over Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance. On issue after issue, the ideological needle has yet to consistently move toward the center at CBS and there’s nothing Darcy et al can do to claim otherwise.

Teen robbers open fire on victim behind Texas Family Dollar, but victim also has a gun — and turns the tables lethally

Armed teenage robbers opened fire at a victim behind a Family Dollar in Beaumont, Texas, last week, police said. But the victim also had a gun and turned the tables — lethally.'I just think that it's sad that our babies are just dying left and right, and nobody's doing anything.'Police said its investigation — helped by witness accounts and video surveillance — determined that Jayson January and Brenden Earnest, both 17, as well as two juveniles acted together in a plot to rob the victim near Avenue B and Harriot last Friday, KFDM-TV reported. All four suspects attacked the robbery target and fired shots at him, police told the station. However, the victim also was armed and returned fire at the suspects, KFDM reported. One of the suspects — January — was hit by gunfire and died in a grassy field near the store, the station said.KLVI-AM reported Monday that Earnest turned himself in and was charged with aggravated robbery — but the two juveniles, ages 15 and 16, were still at large.Earnest was being held at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on a $1 million bond for the aggravated robbery charge as well as a $10,000 bond for unlawfully carrying a weapon, jail officials told KMBT-TV.By Wednesday, the two juveniles also turned themselves in, police told KBTV-TV, adding that there had been warrants out for them on aggravated assault charges.RELATED: DA reacts to store clerk fatally shooting 16-year-old armed robber: 'Once somebody puts a gun in your face, the rules change' Detectives are continuing to investigate and complete their findings so the case can be submitted to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, KBTV said. One woman reacting to the incident told KFDM during an on-camera interview that "I just think that it's sad that our babies are just dying left and right, and nobody's doing anything." The woman asked, "What are they doing about these kids getting out of school and being in the streets during school times?" She also declared, "Something is not right here. Make it make sense."Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

CNN's biggest nightmare is one step closer to finally coming true

CNN may be forced to move toward the middle as a result of a likely incoming brand merger.Netflix has reportedly bowed out of a bidding war in which the company was the final barrier to a takeover of the massive entity that is CNN's parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery.'We have to start by looking honestly at ourselves.'Paramount Skydance looks poised to take over the Warner company, and that could mean big shake-ups at CNN. Paramount's gigantic banner controls CBS television networks, including CBS News. News junkies will recall that when Paramount acquired the Free Press, staffers were short-circuiting over reporter Bari Weiss being named editor in chief of CBS News.If Paramount controls CNN, Weiss or someone similar could be tapped to oversee it.Weiss' pro-Israel, anti-child genital mutilation, and billionaire-backed media landscape has upset some of the farthest-left reaches of the news world, though she shares many liberal views. For example, she is pro-gay-marriage, but against men in women's sports. Many of Weiss' disagreements with the neo-left were outlined when she vacated her role at the New York Times. In her resignation letter, she described the paper as becoming a "performance space" where stories are chosen and told in a way to satisfy "the narrowest of audiences."RELATED: Shellenberger: '60 Minutes' segment paused by Weiss led by reporter with history of 'biased and inaccurate reporting' Weiss alleged she was called a "Nazi" at the paper despite being Jewish and recalled sample pieces from the Times like one that praised the Soviet Union's space program for its "diversity."Weiss' outlook on left-wing news would likely ruffle feathers at CNN if she were to take the lead. Brian Stelter, a former CNN anchor and the current chief media analyst for CNN Worldwide, shared remarks to that effect about the likely takeover in a Friday newsletter for the network. Stelter wrote that CNN employees and viewers have "serious concerns" about whether the network would maintain its "editorial independence" if Paramount takes the reins. However, Weiss' approach at CBS News is seemingly noncontroversial."We have to start by looking honestly at ourselves. We are not producing a product that enough people want," she said in January, per Deadline. She also addressed ideological bias at the company, telling employees their job is to "present people with the fullest picture — and the strongest voices on all sides of an issue — and then trust them to make up their own minds."Still this outlook has resulted in further resignations.Despite getting dirty looks from some liberals, Weiss is not exactly the apple of the right-wing eye, either.RELATED: Furious liberals blame Bari Weiss takeover at CBS after Democrat leader fumbles tough question on 'Face the Nation' Photo by Michele Crowe/CBS News/Getty Images Weiss claims to be a "centrist," supported the national anthem protests that occurred in the NFL, and also wants to keep abortion legal. Additionally, she admitted to voting for Republican Mitt Romney as well as Democrats Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. The 41-year-old has received significant mockery from comedians over the $150 million purchase of her Substack page, while conservatives like Megyn Kelly have accused Weiss of trying to "create more enemies" by labeling others "anti-Semites."At the end of the day, Paramount Skydance's alleged "superior proposal" to buy Warner Bros. is all but completed, but still not finalized. If and when it is, viewers will find out which direction CNN is truly headed in.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Team USA players interrogated by woke Canadian media over Trump call — 'Why would you laugh?'

A Canadian sports reporter blamed the internet for backlash she received over her questions to American hockey players.Members of Team USA men's Olympic hockey team have been lectured by media members for days now after laughing at a joke made by President Trump over the phone.'If we were to do it again, I think we wouldn't do that, and we made a mistake.'Trump called the team in the locker room after their gold medal win on Sunday and made a joke that has offended woke reporters, seemingly worldwide."We're going to have to bring the women's team," the president joked about the Team USA women, who also won gold. He added that he "probably would be impeached" if he didn't.For daring to laugh, U.S. players have been subjected to struggle sessions in their individual markets from hockey reporters. Seemingly the worst of such examples has come out of Canada's capital, where Americans Jake Sanderson and Brady Tkachuk play for the Ottawa Senators. Both players were given a browbeating from TSN reporter Claire Hanna, a Canadian who lists her pronouns as "she/her" on her X page.Sanderson told reporters that while he thought things had been "blown out of proportion a little bit," he still thought it was a "mistake" to laugh at the president's joke."We have nothing but the utmost respect for the women. We had a lounge in the village that we were hanging out with them all the time, watching other events," Sanderson said. That answer was not good enough, though, and Hanna sought further clarification."Do you understand in the moment how much it could hurt a team to hear them kind of just be put down that way?" the female reporter asked."If we were to do it again, I think we wouldn't do that, and we made a mistake. But again, I think it kind of got blown out of proportion a little bit," Sanderson answered.RELATED: Boston Bruins players cave over Trump phone call: 'Certainly sorry' — 'we should have reacted differently' The scrum of reporters was incessant with questions about the Trump call and the players' subsequent visit to the White House and State of the Union address.Tkachuk was not spared from these queries, explaining that only 15 minutes after leaving the ice with the gold medal, "You have the president of the United States calling you. You just can't really believe [it].""You're still riding the high of being a world champ, and for the president to take time and call ...," Tkachuk trailed off before sharing a memory from the Olympics.Still, no amount of positive reinforcement about the women's team could save Tkachuk, as Hanna soon asked, "Do you understand how they could feel pretty put down by that moment?"I get it," Tkachuk replied. "I have no really other comments other than, you know, for the things that we can control, and that was, you know, we supported them, they supported us. Can't control what other people say. That's just kind of life itself." With Tkachuk praising the women's team and saying they were clearly the best squad in the tournament, most would think that Tkachuk had touched on the narrative enough, but Hanna again pressed forward.RELATED: Team USA captain goes full feminist over Trump's 'distasteful' invitation: 'It's a great teaching point' '"So then why would you laugh when they got invited?" the reporter asked."I don't really have an answer, honestly," an exhausted Tkachuk stated. "It was just a whirlwind of a moment that you can't really control what somebody says, and I guess caught off guard a little bit. "The American reiterated, "When you're talking to the president 10 minutes after you just achieve your dream, it's just the fact that you're talking to him. It's just, you can't really believe where your life's at, that you're talking to the president of the United States after you just won a gold medal."Hanna, seemingly shrugging off a bevy of backlash, wrote on X, "I see the internet is angry today." This only garnered more disgruntled fan remarks.Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!
