White Stripes Top 10 Songs
The duo, White Stripes, hailed from Detroit in the late ’90s. Former Country/Rock drummer (with Goober and the Peas) turned guitarist/vocalist, Jack White (born John “Jack” Anthony Gillis) and drummer Meg White used Punk and Blues as their base while incorporating Folk and Art Rock. Jack worked with several area groups on his way to becoming a highly eclectic and emotive songwriter. The idea for White Stripes was to create simple, basic Rock. Done.

The video features a spectacular array of visual effects as it follows The White Stripes from a talk show performance to a late-night drive back to an apartment. #4. Ball And Biscuit
This song was released as a single from “The White Stripes Greatest Hits.” At over 7 minutes long, it is the longest studio recording by the band.
It references the “seventh son” which may have been inspired by White’s own family situation; he was the seventh and final son in a family of nine children. The “seventh son” is thought to possess supernatural powers.

The music video is a Lego animation directed by Michael Gondry with his son featured at the beginning of the video, building Lego blocks. The White Stripes couldn’t strike a deal with Lego, so they had to buy a large number of Lego boxes for the video.

#1. Seven Nation Army
The guitar riff was devised by White while the White Stripes were on the Australian leg of their tour in ’02. He played the riff for an executive with Third Man, the White Stripes’ record label, who felt White could “do better.” White later recalled that the executive “didn’t even think that rhythm was that great, either”.
The song won Best Rock Song at the 46th Annual Grammy Awards on its way to becoming a major sports anthem.
