Buga Sphere Part of CIA and Pentagon Disinformation Campaign, Claims Filmmaker
Credit: XThe mysterious “BUGA Sphere,” which captured global attention during a recent event in Latin America, is now at the center of a growing controversy following explosive claims by UN-accredited investigator and filmmaker Mark Christopher Lee.
According to Lee, a confidential source close to the Pentagon has revealed that the CIA and U.S. Department of Defense have long used Central and South America as operational grounds for psychological and disinformation campaigns—often involving UFOs.
“This isn’t new,” said Lee. “The CIA and Pentagon have a documented history of experimenting with narratives in Latin America, using UFO sightings and myths as a smokescreen to deflect attention from secret weapons testing and black technology programs.”
Lee suggests that the widely-publicized BUGA Sphere may be part of this ongoing campaign—pointing to the involvement of controversial Mexican journalist and UFO promoter Jaime Maussan, who has previously been accused of promoting hoaxes.
“Maussan’s long record of dubious claims raises red flags,” said Lee. “It’s possible he’s being used—wittingly or not—as a mouthpiece in a much broader operation to manipulate public perception.”
These claims align with recent reporting by The Wall Street Journal, which suggests that U.S. defense agencies have actively cultivated UFO narratives to obscure the existence of next-generation military technologies.
Lee’s latest film, The Rendlesham UFO – The British Roswell, set to premiere at the Raindance Film Festival on June 24th, explores the UK’s most well-known UFO incident—one he now believes may also have been a cover story.
The 1980 Rendlesham Forest event, long shrouded in mystery and alleged extraterrestrial involvement, could, according to Lee, have served as a smokescreen to hide classified aerospace experiments taking place at nearby U.S. Air Force facilities.
“The closer you look, the more you realise these events often coincide with the testing of new technologies. The official stories rarely add up,” said Lee.
“That doesn’t mean all UFOs are explainable. On the contrary, there is a wide range of phenomena—some may be advanced human tech, others could be interdimensional, time-related, or even extraterrestrial. The truth is elusive and probably multifaceted.”
