As the anti-ICE riots rage on, a large group of ‘protestors’ in Los Angeles clashed with Marines who were standing guard outside a federal building. The crowd of around 500 people ambushed the steps of the building, yelling at the Marines to leave and hurling chants of “shame” their way. The Marines pushed back against the rioters, urging them to step away. They stood guard at the top of steps leading to the entrance of the Roybal federal building, which houses immigration offices and where ICE has held some undocumented detainees. The building has been a flashpoint for protesters all week. Just down the steps about 15 feet away, hundreds of protesters confronted the Marines, yelling in unison “Marines go home!” and “Shame! Shame!” Several protesters hurled insults and invectives at the Marines, who did not react. Some in the crowd were telling them to take a knee or to join their demonstration. A crowd of about 10,000 people marched between Pioneer Park and the Federal Building when shots were fired near 200 South State Street. There is a person of interest in custody. “We can confirm the shooting resulted in one person being critically injured. The patient has been taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries,” officials with the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a post. Utah News Dispatch added: A Utah News Dispatch reporter that was on scene saw the crowd scatter, with some shouting that they heard gunshots. A photojournalist also witnessed what appeared to be a victim lying in the street with several people administering aid. Soon after, the victim was seen being loaded into an ambulance.
