Climate activists vandalized the iconic Wall Street Bull with green graffiti declaring “Greed = Death,” but quickly scrubbed it clean before police officers arrived at the scene. Members of the environmental activist group Extinction Rebellion defaced the bronze statue early Monday during an Earth Day demonstration, the New York Post reported. The vandals spray-painted their organization’s symbol alongside the anti-capitalist messaging on the bull while hysterically reciting climate alarmist slogans. The activists also attempted to create an image of the bull defecating on a cutout of Earth by hanging debris-filled brown stockings near the rear of the statue. The 7,100-pound Wall Street Bull, installed in 1989, has long been a symbol of American financial prosperity and a frequent target for anti-capitalist protesters. The bull has repeatedly been targeted by left-wing protesters, who see the statue as a symbol of corporate “greed” and the evils of capitalism. In 2019, a Dallas man bashed what appeared to be a heavy silver guitar into the statue while screaming “F**k Trump!,” damaging one of its horns before he was arrested by the NYPD.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) unleashed unprecedented criminal charges against members of the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, invoking a law that is best known for its use against the mafia in the fight against the foreign terror organization. Attorney General Pam Bondi and Matthew Podolsky, the Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, announced that it charged a total of 27 current and former Tren de Aragua members under the Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) for the first time ever, marking a new development in how the federal government prosecutes the cartels. The indictment, Bondi says, will decimate the criminal network’s infrastructure. “As alleged, Tren de Aragua is not just a street gang – it is a highly structured terrorist organization that has destroyed American families with brutal violence, engaged in human trafficking, and spread deadly drugs through our communities,” Bondi charged. “Today’s indictments and arrests span three states and will devastate TdA’s infrastructure as we work to completely dismantle and purge this organization from our country.” The indictment targets both current and former members of Tren de Aragua, charging them with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking conspiracy, drug trafficking conspiracy, robbery, and firearms offenses. Of the 27 individuals charged by the DOJ, 19 of them are alleged to be members of a Tren de Aragua splinter group referred to as “Anti-Tren.” The unsealed indictment outlines a number of specific charges against the alleged current and former Tren de Aragua members, accusing them of sex trafficking, drug trafficking, car jacking, and a litany of firearms charges. The DOJ also explained that the foreign terror organization has been particularly active in New York City, specifically in the Bronx and Queens. “Tren de Aragua is one of the most dangerous gangs in the country, and the NYPD has taken significant action to shut down their operations in New York City,” NYPD commissioner Jessica S. Tisch remarked. “For the first time ever, TdA is being named and charged as the criminal enterprise that it is. This isn’t just street crime—it’s organized racketeering, and this gang has shown zero regard for the safety of New Yorkers.”

Today, Variety broke the news that iwot Studios—the company that owns the rights to Jordan’s fourteen-book series across film, TV, video games, and comics—has set up its own video game division to develop a Wheel of Time AAA open-world role-playing game. The entire project will be worked on in-house and will take an estimated three years to complete. “It’s an open-world game, and it’ll be everything with The Wheel of Time, everything that is covered in the books, as well as all the backstory elements of it,” iwot Studios CEO Rick Selvage told Variety. “As we build out the world, it’ll be the entire Wheel of Time world—it’s not going to be limited to one area or another or a particular age.” This isn’t the only project iwot is working on based on their Wheel of Time rights. There’s the TV show, of course, and there’s also the prequel live-action films, the first of which is called Age of Legends, that they’re working on, as well as a 3D animated feature in development. To that end, Selvage added that the video game will “have a lot of assets from [Age of Legends] and marketing opportunities and fan integration and a lot of other things,” but that, ultimately, the game will also “cover the entire world.” The video game is still in its early days, with former Warner Bros. Games VP Craig Alexander leading the new studio.
