If that’s Jolene, I can see why Dolly was worried. Sydney Sweeney is obviously one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood right now, both literally and figuratively. The blonde bombshell from shows like “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” recently made headlines – and stirred controversy – for her American Eagle ad campaign in which she makes a joke about her “great jeans.” The ads sent the woke mob into a spiral of calling the commercial a “Nazi dog whistle,” because apparently saying she has great jeans is code for “great genes,” which is code for white. Pure insanity. But that’s not the only ad campaign Sweeney’s been a part of recently that’s turning heads. This past Friday, the latest project from the actress dropped, a crime thriller called Americana that stars Sweeney as aspiring country star Penny Jo Poplin. And ahead of the film’s release, Sweeney channeled Dolly Parton to recreate an iconic album cover for the promo shoot. The poster features Sweeney in the style of Dolly’s Jolene album cover from 1974: And she’s not the only one throwing it back to some classic country photos. Paul Walter Hauser recreated Willie Nelson’s iconic Red Headed Stranger album cover. Simon Rex decided to go a little more recent with his tribute to Chris Stapleton and his From A Room: Volume 2 album cover from 2017. Halsey, meanwhile, posed for a nod to the Man in Black with a recreation of Johnny Cash’s The Legend of Johnny Cash cover. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know anything about the movie until these posters were released, but now I’m intrigued, so they clearly reached their target audience. A few years ago though, it seems like companies were quick to bend the knee and beg for forgiveness from the mob out of fear of losing business. Back in 2022, the actress posted some photos and videos from her mother’s 60th birthday party, and folks online spotted some people in the background wearing MAGA-style hats that said “Make Sixty Great Again.” Once again, it’s as ridiculous as it sounds. Sweeney stood firm against the criticism then too, telling everybody to calm down and stop making a political statement over a goofy hat: “You guys this is wild. President Donald Trump was asked about the ad by reporters, and after finding out she’s a Republican, it turns out he’s a big fan of it: “She’s a registered Republican? Oh, now I love her ad. Is that right, is Sydney Sweeney? You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans. That one I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that. Over the weekend, a fan who was out on the town on Music City’s most famous street got a video of a Nashville police officer standing outside of the bars, keeping an eye on things. But, you might do a double-take because he looks exactly like the “I’m A Little Crazy” singer.
