The Arlington County, Virginia, Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Tuesday to end its police department’s ability to report illegal aliens arrested for felonies and terrorist activity to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Board members couched their decision as a way to protect immigrant communities from the Trump administration’s mass deportation efforts, which, funny enough, target the types of criminals that Arlington is now protecting. Prior to this egregious decision to disregard the public’s safety, the Arlington County police department’s interaction with ICE was already restricted in the county’s “Trust Policy,” also known as “Arlington’s Commitment to Strengthening Trust with Our Immigrant Communities,” enacted in 2022 and updated last year. Section 7 of the “Trust Policy” very narrowly carved out a few exceptions for when police were allowed to report arrests of illegal aliens to ICE. These were for instances when police made arrests for felonies, gang activity, terrorism, and human trafficking. The draft document had identified the presence of these illegals as a “threat to the community.” And the county was right. Now, Section 7 is crossed out in unambiguous red ink, and terrorists and other dangerous criminals will be effectively shielded from deportation. “What the removal of Section 7 actually means is that we are not going to allow anymore that our law enforcement proactively contacts the federal government immigration authorities on any issue,” said Board Chair Takis Karantonis, a Democrat. Several so-called immigrant rights groups have been leading a yearslong pressure campaign for Arlington police to stop all contact with ICE, specifically targeting Section 7. Karantonis claimed that the community has “seen a decrease in safety” since the Trump administration has started deporting dangerous illegal aliens. Board members said immigrants are increasingly afraid to call 911 for fear of deportation—a claim, as TV station WJLA noted, that was made without supporting data. “Sending people to foreign prisons and claiming we have no way to get them back is not normal,” said Democrat Board Member Maureen Coffey, possibly referring to the recent case of alleged MS-13 gang member and wife-beater Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whom the Trump administration deported along with other gang members to a mega-prison in El Salvador. She, too, claimed that not cooperating with ICE is an issue of “public safety.” Karantonis likewise insisted that the Trump administration is “infringing on the Constitution” by denying illegal immigrants—presumably like Abrego Garcia—due process. However, keeping terrorists and gang members in the country would lead to more crimes and medical emergencies—specifically related to gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma—not less. This would especially affect immigrant populations, who are often exposed to this criminal behavior in their communities. Meanwhile, since January, the administration has arrested over 219 known or suspected terrorists in the U.S., and, according to the Department of Homeland Security, three in four of the total 66,463 aliens arrested in the first 100 days of the new administration were criminals. This includes 2,288 gang members and hundreds of sex offenders and murderers. The Trump administration’s targeted deportation of dangerous criminal aliens is exposing the far-Left’s bottom line when it comes to protecting illegal aliens. It’s not about compassion. It’s not to protect hardworking legal immigrants toiling to make a living. And it certainly has nothing to do with “public safety.” No. This system of protecting criminals who broke the law to come here can only lead to more left-leaning political supporters and more communities dependent on government handouts, effectively lining the pockets of government cronies—even at the local level. Meanwhile the coffers of many government contractors and nongovernmental organizations like Catholic Charities are being emptied. What used to be a dependable flow of government grants creating a multibillion-dollar industry facilitating entry into the United States for illegal immigrants is no more. The new administration won’t stand for the misuse of taxpayer money and seeks to undo the damage the last administration and these organizations wreaked on our communities and the economy. But the Left is angry. What it wants is a dingy, dilapidated, crime-ridden, third-world nightmare where no one will remember the Shining City on a Hill America used to be. They can gaslight us all they want about their bleeding-heart admonitions and hidden motives. But finally, Americans are on to them. Gavin Newsom projected confidence in Biden’s ability to handle the job of the presidency right after the former president’s widely criticized debate performance against his predecessor, Donald Trump, but before the then-president bowed out.“Remember: All the impacts of climate change, all the forest fires, all those floods, the drought, all these impacts—Marine One, Air Force One. I’ve spent time—hours and hours in the aggregate—on the phone with him, was just with [Biden at] a major fundraiser we did down in L.A. two weeks ago. The start of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial has exposed how sick and seedy the music mogul is. As profane as that exposure is, it’s not as profound as the true colors exposed this week of some of the nation’s elite and esteemed institutions and individuals.   We start with the former top law enforcement officer in the land. A man who has been selling himself for years as the epitome of righteousness.   Comey Calls for the Killing of the President  Former FBI Director James Comey has the Secret Service hot on his heels, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard hot to see him in handcuffs after he posted an image of shells laid out on the beach reading “86 47.” The “47” stands for the 47th president, while “86” is a familiar slang term for murder.   Translation: Murder Trump. As I reported Friday morning, Comey deleted the post, then claimed, astonishingly, “I posted earlier a picture of some shells I saw today on a beach walk, which I thought was a political message. I did not know some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I am against violence of any kind so I took the post down.”  Gabbard noted that Comey spent years prosecuting “mobsters and gangsters.” The term “86” originated as a mob term for “hit,” as in, “take him eight miles outside the city and put him six feet underground.” Pretending he didn’t know what “86” meant ranks up there with Bill Clinton not knowing what the meaning of the word “is” is, or Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson not knowing what a “woman” is.   Even Bigfoot would say, “That’s far-fetched, pal.”   With the dual posts Comey exposed himself to those who didn’t already know, as a very dangerous man and a callous, if not delusional, liar. And shameless, if this all turns out to be a stunt to promote his new crime novel “FDR Drive,” which comes out May 20.   Left to be seen is whether he’s exposed himself as a felon.   The Pulitzer Excuse Committee  The Daily Signal’s Virginia Allen did a story May 9 on how a Pulitzer Prize for commentary was awarded to Mosab Abu Toha, a man who denied a now-released Hamas hostage had been a hostage, or even the victim of the terrorist group.   The freed woman, Emily Damari, was righteously angered, publicly blasting the Pulitzer selection committee for honoring Abu Toha, and demanding an explanation and apology.  Dear Members of the @PulitzerPrizes board,My name is Emily Damari. We didn’t nominate him!”   In Richard Pryor’s classic concert film “Live on Sunset Strip” the late comedy legend riffs on the experience filming “Stir Crazy” in a high-security prison and talking to one of the lifers.   “I asked him, ‘Why’d you kill the whole family?’”   “They was home.”  Why did you award a Pulitzer to a terrorist denier? “It was in our inbox.”  Episcopal Church Refuses to Help White South African Refugees  How much grief have Christians who believe in strong borders gotten the past several years from Leftists, both secular and religious? How many times has the Bible’s Old Testament admonition to care for the stranger been used as a weapon to explain how you’re a terrible Christian if you don’t support religious groups facilitating the flow of illegal immigrants into the country?   The Episcopal Church has been assisting refugees (real and imagined) under a government contract for years. Yet this week they were exposed, not as Christ-lovers serving all in need regardless of station or status, but as anti-white activists working for a cause having nothing to do with Christ.   As the Daily Signal’s Tyler O’Neil reported, the Episcopal Church ended its partnership with the federal government rather than help a small group of white refugees fleeing genocide in South Africa.   Make no mistake. It’s because the refugees are white that the Episcopalians are refusing to come to their aid. They say so in their own words.   In a statement announcing the church’s intentions, Presiding Bishop Sean Rowe wrote:   The federal government informed Episcopal Migration Ministries that under the terms of our federal grant, we are expected to resettle white Afrikaners from South Africa whom the U.S. government has classified as refugees.  In light of our church’s steadfast commitment to racial justice and reconciliation … we are not able to take this step. The Parable of the Good Samaritan must not be in their Bible. The line “love thy neighbor” must come with an asterisk.  In refusing to help desperate people fleeing terror and death because of their skin color, the Episcopal Migration Ministries exposes itself as racist, as well as radical.  Perhaps they won’t have to answer to the government, the public, or the Afrikaner refugees, but they will ultimately have to answer to the Highest Authority.   We publish a variety of perspectives. NYT: Yumpin' Yiminy, Harvard Officials Worry Probes Could Put Them In Yail

The relationship between the United States and Israel is usually seen as “special” because of technical matters. Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East. Israel and the U.S. share vitally important intelligence and technology. But what about shared values? Shortly after America’s new ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, arrived at his post, he sat for an interview with the Christian network TBN. Huckabee, the first Evangelical Christian to hold this post, was clear that what roots him in Israel is the Bible. “3,500 years ago, God said, ‘This is my people, this is my land, this is my place, this is my purpose,’” noted our new ambassador. He later continued, “America stands with Israel.” Polling data shows that Americans with religious identity, who attend church, are much more strongly in support of Israel than Americans with no religious identity. Per Gallup, on average from 2020-2024, among American Protestants, 66% expressed more support for Israel, compared to 18% who expressed more support for the Palestinians. Among Americans with no religious identity, 34% expressed more support for Israel, compared to 43% who expressed more support for the Palestinians. Over 2020-2024, among those who said they attend church once per week, 67% expressed more support for Israel, and 17% expressed more support for the Palestinians. However, among those who never attend church, 41% expressed more support for Israel, and 37% said they express more support for the Palestinians. Gallup connects weakening support for Israel with weakening religious identity. Over 2001-2004, 32% of Americans said they attend church once per week. By 2020-2024, this was down to 23%. In the 2001-2004 period, 15% said they never attend church. By the 2020-2024 time period, this was up to 30%. So, the Bible could well be the most important dimension of the unique and special relationship between Israel and the United States. We’ve heard a lot about Make America Great Again. With all the anxiety now regarding domestic and foreign affairs, we ought to ask, “What makes America great?” One of the great speeches in American history is the speech that President Ronald Reagan delivered March 8, 1983, to the National Association of Evangelicals, in which Reagan called the Soviet Union an “evil empire.” In that speech, Reagan quoted French nobleman Alexis de Tocqueville, who wrote what many view as the greatest book ever about the United States -- “Democracy in America,” published in 1835. Tocqueville noted: “Not until I went into the churches of America and heard her pulpits enflamed with righteousness did I understand the greatness and genius of America. America is good. And if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great.” The following is the increase from 2001 to 2023 of the percentage of Americans saying the following are morally acceptable: Gay and lesbian relations, 40% to 64%; bringing a baby outside of marriage, 45% to 70%; sex outside of marriage, 53% to 72%; polygamy, 7% to 23%; doctor-assisted suicide, 49% to 53%; pornography, 30% to 39%; abortion, 42% to 52%. From 2001-2024, federal debt as a percent of GDP went from 32.8% to 96.2%, and federal spending went from 17.6% to 23.1%. The percentage of households with married parents dropped from 24% to 17.9%. And the fertility rate went from 2.03 children per woman to 1.61. The average real growth rate of the U.S. economy from 1950-1999 was 3.6% per year. From 2000-2024 it was down to 2.2%. There we have it. The way to make America great again is to make America good again. Emblazoned on the Liberty Bell is the verse, “Proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof,” taken from the Book of Leviticus in the Five Books of Moses. There is indeed a special relationship between the U.S. and Israel. The common ground between our countries is the eternal Bible.

While largely failing to have the media be held accountable for lying to the American people about President Biden’s failing mental acuity, Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson’s book Original Sin caused quite the stir on ABC’s The View. During Friday’s show, the liberal ladies were at each other’s throats as they battled over where or not it mattered that their Democratic Party lied to the American people. One of the purported conservatives even exclaimed: “We have Trump because you guys screwed this up!” Pretend independent Sara Haines finally came out as a supporter of Democrats and said her criticism came from a place of love, and that she wanted them to gain the trust of the public again: People lost trust in them because the voters were saying there was a concern. There were people across the board saying they had a concern, and the Democrats said, “no, no, over here, look over here.” They told the voters what to care about and did not listen when the voters said they cared. So, these stories come out aren't about beating a dead horse, it’s saying if they could have a fair conversation that we heard you, we saw it as they saw it, they'd be gaining some of the voters back to say, okay, we're not going to keep saying. As someone staunchly far-left, co-host Sunny Hostin rejected the idea that the Democratic Party needed to answer for their lies. “No, I don't. I think that I want to move on from why the Democratic Party lost and I want to hear from the Democratic Party about how we are going to take our country back,” she proclaimed. She wanted to know “what they are going to do to combat fascism.” And like the staunch racist that she was, she wanted to lash out at white people some more: “I want to talk about why this administration is giving refugee status to South African white Afrikaners!”     Purported conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Trump’s approval rating was at “39 percent” compared to the “27 percent” for Democrats collectively. But before she could finish her thought, moderator Joy Behar rudely interrupted to claim it wasn’t because Democrats were “being bad” but rather “because they haven't fought hard enough” against Trump. As Farah Griffin was pointing out that Biden had forgotten who George Clooney was (a friend of his), Behar defended the forgetfulness by suggesting Clooney “looks different lately. He does.” Behar eventually resorted to shouting over Farah Griffin to stop talking about Biden’s failing mental acuity, to which Farah Griffin screamed back that they as Democrats “screwed this up”: BEHAR: The ship has sailed! It's out in the ocean somewhere with Biden! It's over! Get over it! FARAH GRIFFIN: We have Trump because you guys screwed this up! With all due respect. BEHAR: Does it help to just keep going over the same material about Biden over and over again?! The View cast were part of the cover-up of Biden’s failing mental acuity. In July of 2024, moderator Whoopi Goldberg proclaimed that declared that Biden could have “pooped his pants” and she still would have held water for him. In May of 2024, Behar admitted to guest Bill Maher that she self-censors her criticism of Biden lest she help Trump get elected. The transcript is below. Just so we know, this table spends a lot of time criticizing Donald Trump and a lot of it is very valid and needs to happen, but it’s a fact his approval rating is 39 percent. HAINES: It’s higher than the Democratic Party. FARAH GRIFFIN: However Democrats is 27 percent. People felt gaslit and lied to. In 2023 – BEHAR: Wait, part of that I think the low ratings for the Democrats – I think partly – I may be making this up – is because they haven't fought hard enough. What she's talking about. Not because they’re so angry with the Democrats for being bad. FARAH GRIFFIN: That may be part of it. 77 percent of Americans in 2023 said Joe Biden was too old run again. And they were told: sit down, shut up, he is the nominee; and then when it became untenable and he stepped aside, they anointed Kamala Harris they were told. There was not a primary. There was not a democratic process. BEHAR: I know. It was a mistake. HOSTIN: I don’t think it was a mistake. FARAH GRIFFIN: And then when she lost, they said, ‘don't look backward. We're moving forward, we’re not even going to talk about why we didn’t listen to you. We had Joe Biden here last week. It was an honor to have him. I think he is a good man. It's not the job -- you don't have to recognize George Clooney. Does that give you confidence that in the middle of the night that if China is about to attack us there's a war breaking out in Iran he is the sharpest person to be able to handle that? BEHAR: Wait a second, which administration texted war plans to their brother? [Applause] Was that Joe Biden?! No! Music legend Kid Rock roasted Bruce Springsteen Thursday, then identified a possible contributing cause of America's low fertility rate. Fox News' Jesse Watters confronted Rock with footage from Springsteen's Wednesday concert in Manchester, England, where the "Born in the U.S.A." singer badmouthed the Trump administration and the president. "The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock 'n' roll in dangerous times," said Springsteen. "In my home, the America I love, the America I've written about — that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years — is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration." The geriatric rocker, whose preferred candidate for president lost in an electoral landslide last year, urged his foreign audience to "rise with us" against "authoritarianism, and let freedom ring." Springsteen kept complaining and lecturing his audience over the course of his performance, declaring, for instance, that "they're rolling back historic civil rights legislation that led to a more just and plural society," and "they're abandoning our great allies and siding with dictators against those struggling for their freedom," reported CBS News. When speaking with Watters about a sample of Springsteen's polemics, Rock expressed doubt over whether the liberal musician would similarly slam the president at a show stateside and questioned his relative quality. 'Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics.' "Let's break it down. Pound for pound, when it comes to heartland rock and roll, Bruce Springsteen's made some good songs, I'll give him that. Bob Seger smokes him any day of the week in my book," said Rock. "Bruce Springsteen is another one of these liberals who has mountains of money that so desperately wants to keep his good standing in the eyes of Hollywood and the elite but plays like this working-class guy." "His politics are so ass-backwards — just stay in Europe, Bruce," added Rock. Watters quipped, "Maybe 'The Boss' should go by 'The Employee' next time." President Donald Trump exercised less restraint than Rock in his response to the liberal performer's rant. "I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States," Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK, who fervently supported Crooked Joe Biden, a mentally incompetent FOOL, and our WORST EVER President, who came close to destroying our Country." Toward the end of his message, the president leaned harder into his insults, writing, "Springsteen is 'dumb as a rock'" — a "dried out 'prune' of a rocker (his skin is all atrophied!) The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed in a report last month that the fertility rate, only slightly higher than the record-low set in 2023, now sits at 1.6 births per woman over her lifetime. By way of contrast, in 1960, the U.S. rate was 3.7. The rate necessary for a population to maintain stability and replenish itself without requiring replacement by foreign nationals is 2.1. "It just hit me right now because who's going to sleep with these ugly ass, broke, crazy, deranged, [Trump derangement syndrome], liberal women?" continued Rock. "I mean, you look at these rallies, it's like a bunch of women that no guy wants to sleep with and a bunch of dudes that want to sleep with each other."
