Kansas Lawsuits Target Websites Over Alleged Lack of Digital ID Verification

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. A legal challenge unfolding in Kansas could reshape how adult websites are held responsible for not introducing digital ID verification on their platforms. Four lawsuits filed last week target adult sites for allegedly skirting Kansas law, which demands age-verification tools. We obtained an example of one of the lawsuits for you here. The actions, brought by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) and a Kansas law firm, were filed on behalf of a 14-year-old and the child’s mother. This marks the first time a minor has sought to use such state laws to pursue damages. Unlike federal legislation, which imposes no ID age-check requirements on adult content providers, Kansas is part of a growing coalition of states implementing their own rules. Roughly 20 states have passed similar laws, with Louisiana leading the charge in 2023. Kansas followed with a statute that not only outlines standards for age verification but also grants residents the power to sue companies that fail to comply. More: Louisiana Is Pushing Digital ID. The Personal Data Of All Driver’s License Holders Have Just Been Breached. “This law gives private individuals and groups the authority to take action,” Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach told Fox News in a segment. His office filed its own suit earlier this year against an adult website, accusing it of disregarding Kansas’ age verification rules. That case remains active. According to the new lawsuits, the teenage plaintiff accessed adult content through an old laptop, despite parental efforts to prevent it. NCOSE claims the exposure was aided by algorithms and recommendation systems tied to the websites or their partners. The filings assert that such platforms funneled the child toward sexually explicit material, even though his parents had put controls in place. “The parents in this instance thought they did everything right,” NCOSE General Counsel Benjamin Bull explained. “It’s just a question of when children will gain access… unless these online platforms actually install age verification, this boy’s … what’s happened to him and what’s happened to hundreds of thousands of others is just going to continue and get worse.” More: The Digital ID and Online Age Verification Agenda One of the sites named in the lawsuits is Chaturbate, operated by Multi Media LLC. While the site claims to have age-gating features in place, the plaintiffs argue that these mechanisms are easily bypassed and fall short of Kansas’ legal threshold. Multi Media LLC disputes the claims entirely. In a statement, a spokesperson said the company’s age-verification system performed correctly and blocked the plaintiff from viewing adult content. “The platform’s ID verification age gate functioned exactly as expected,” the spokesperson said, calling the lawsuit “completely baseless.” The company also asserted it had explained the situation to the plaintiff’s attorneys months ago and is now considering seeking sanctions in response. Despite the platform’s denial, Kansas officials maintain the lawsuit’s signal that the law is having its intended impact. “Companies are being taken to task for marketing this material in a way that minors can get it,” Kobach said, adding that the availability of reliable age-check technology makes continued lapses unacceptable. The lawsuits are seeking no less than $50,000 in statutory damages for each violation, as well as compensation for harm, legal fees, and other potential remedies. The lawsuits in Kansas not only raise questions about age verification but also spotlight a broader and increasingly urgent debate over digital privacy. The push to require identity checks on adult websites has prompted concern among privacy advocates, who warn that such mandates threaten the foundation of online anonymity and expand the amount of sensitive data platforms are incentivized, or required, to collect. In states like Kansas, where the law compels adult sites to verify that visitors are adults, the most commonly suggested method is through government-issued photo identification. This practice forces users to submit highly personal information to access legal content, dramatically shifting the web from a space of pseudonymity and freedom to one of surveillance and gatekeeping. Platforms, in turn, must either build or outsource infrastructure capable of scanning, storing, and managing that data, raising the stakes in terms of both privacy and cybersecurity. When a user submits an ID to gain access to a website, the verification process doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It typically involves third-party processors or proprietary systems that handle and cross-check the data. This collection, even if ostensibly temporary or encrypted, becomes a honeypot for malicious actors. Should that data be breached, leaked, or misused, the consequences could include identity theft, public exposure of personal behavior, or even extortion, especially in a context as stigmatized as adult content consumption. Privacy advocates argue that mandatory digital ID verification schemes not only erode civil liberties but also undermine trust in online platforms. They warn that once data collection becomes normalized, companies may be tempted to retain more than what is strictly necessary or to repurpose it for advertising, analytics, or sale to third parties. The more entities that touch the data, the more entry points exist for abuse. If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Morning Joe: 'Very Troubling' If Biden Doctor Found Elevated PSA But Didn't Inform Public

Tuning into today's Morning Joe, you might understandably have expected simply an outpouring of sympathy over former President Biden's prostate cancer diagnosis, with few if any uncomfortable questions raised. Particularly so when the medical expert brought in was Dr. Zeke Emanuel, senior fellow at the left-wing Center for American Progress, and someone appointed by both Presidents Obama and Biden to White House advisory boards. Surprisingly though, the show promptly raised several tough issues on the matter.  Emanuel said that very few people, only about 7%, get first diagnosed at this late stage, when the cancer has already metastasized.  As another oncologist said on NewsNation: “This is what I typically would see in a VA hospital, where a patient hasn’t had medical attention in 10 years, presents to an emergency room with bone pain, and then they find that it’s metastatic prostate cancer.”  So imagine how surprising—or unlikely—it is that a former President of the United States wasn't diagnosed before now.  Emanuel said, given that it is metastatic at a 9 level, Biden has had the cancer for years, possibly it for as long as a decade, extending back to and even beyond the beginning of his presidency. As he put it: "He did not develop it in the last 100, 200 days. He had it while he was president. He probably had it at the start of his presidency in 2021." Joe Scarborough didn't play defense, and to the contrary, emphasized that Biden should have been tested before deciding to run for reelection. Scarborough noted that the Washington Post had located a doctor, Otis Brawley, to claim it wouldn't have been surprising if previous screenings hadn't disclosed the cancer before now. But a skeptical Scarborough responded, "questions would arise if a test would miss it that many times, especially with a spread as far as it has spread." It's a mark of how dubious Emanuel was about the situation that—four separate times—he diplomatically said it was "a little surprising" that Biden's doctors either hadn't performed the PSA test or diagnosed the cancer before now. And in his most ominous statement, Emanuel said it would be "very troubling" if the PSA test had been performed and shown elevated levels, but Biden's doctors had not revealed that to the public. Jonathan Lemire weighed in, saying that the questions surrounding Biden's cancer diagnosis will add to "a whole slew of other questions about the last few years, about his health and fitness for office." That was Lemire, also being diplomatic, describing the cover-up of Biden's acuity decline.   Note: Emanuel emphasized that many older men decide not to have the PSA test performed, and that the decision was ultimately up to Biden. Heading into the 2020 and 2024 elections, is it possible Dr. Jill nixed the tests, figuring that what the family didn't know didn't have to be disclosed—and thus couldn't prevent Joe from running? Here's the transcript. MSNBC Morning Joe 5/19/25 6:02 am EDT MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.  According to his personal office, Biden, who is 82 years old, had been experiencing symptoms and was officially diagnosed on Friday. The cancer has spread from his prostate to other tissue in his body, a source familiar with the matter tells NBC News.  . . .  JOE SCARBOROUGH: Let's bring in right now former Obama White House advisor for health policy, oncologist Dr. Zeke Emanuel. . . .  ZEKE EMANUEL: The fact is that very few people get diagnosed this advanced. About seven percent of all prostate cancer in the country gets diagnosed when you have a lesion that's in the bone and therefore it's metastatic and incurable. The prostate cancer will not go away. He will have it. That doesn't mean he's going to die from it, because there are a lot of treatments.  SCARBOROUGH: You had said that very few people have it actually diagnosed at this late stage, that that's rare.  Doesn't it take some time for prostate cancer to develop to a point where it would spread to the bones?  EMANUEL: Oh, he's had this for many years, maybe even a decade, growing there and spreading. That's right.  It's a little surprising. I look back at the records and there's no evidence that when he got his health status and the medical records were released, that he had a prostate specific antigen.  Now, it is true that a lot of people recommend not doing a prostate specific antigen after 70. But President Biden's been in public life a very long time. He was Vice President and had a lot of exams under 70. So it's a little surprising that they didn't do it, and maybe President Biden decided he didn't want the test. Many men do decide they don't want a PSA.  . . .  It's been around for a very long time in President Biden—years. Exactly how many, we don't know, obviously.  And it is a little surprising to many of us oncologists that he wasn't diagnosed earlier.  . . .  President Obama had this test. President Bush had this test. It is a little surprising that the doctor didn't take it.  And if he took it and didn't report it and it was elevated, that is another case of doctors not being straightforward with us. We've had several of them with President Trump, especially around his COVID diagnosis.  And if that is true, that would be very troubling.  . . .  SCARBOROUGH: You believe that it is likely, just for those just tuning in, you believe it is likely if this prostate cancer has spread to the bone, that he could have had it for up to a decade. But certainly, it's likely, would it be fair to say, it's likely to have had this for at least several years?  EMANUEL: Oh, more than several years. You don't get prostate cancer -- SCARBOROUGH: Again, I just want to stop you. So you're, this is not speculation. If you have prostate cancer that is spread to the bone, then he most certainly, you are saying had it when he was President of the United States.  EMANUEL: Oh, yeah. He did not develop it in the last 100, 200 days. He had it while he was president. He probably had it at the start of his presidency in 2021. Yes, I don't think there's any disagreement about that.  . . .  Most White House doctors would recommend this test to the president and would say, I think you should get it.  It's probably true. Now, the president has the ultimate decision. They just can't take his blood and, you know, not talk to him about it.  SCARBOROUGH: Yeah, but certainly, Mika, especially if you're -- we're not even talking about living another 10 years. We were talking about the decision to run another four years.  Certainly, this would be a test that would need to be taken.  EMANUEL: Either they didn't test for it, or they test for it, they didn't report it, and we didn't get the information as a public.  . . .  SCARBOROUGH: The Washington Post reports Otis Brawley, a medical oncologist at Johns Hopkins University, who treats patients with metastatic prostate cancer, said it would not be surprising if previous prostate exams or screenings while Biden was president failed to turn up indications of cancer. Quote: we need a better test.  To that, though, I would just say, Jonathan, as Zeke said, if you are having regular screenings and regular testings, as we would suspect any president would, or at least should, even over the age of 70, especially if they're going to run for another term, then, of course, questions would arise if a test would miss it that many times, especially with a spread as far as it has spread.  JONATHAN LEMIRE: Yeah, I mean, certainly not a perfect test, as the doctor said, but seems sort of improbable that a President of the United States wouldn't be tested, wouldn't have the full array of exams here.  And the questions surrounding this come, of course, at a moment when President Biden and his team and his family are facing a whole slew of other questions about the last few years, about his health and fitness for office, about his decision to run again for reelection.  And this is certainly just going to add to that.

Angel Reese and systemic pandering fuel 'black fatigue'

Angel Reese embodies the “fatigue” pervasive throughout American culture. The WNBA starlet opened her second season of professional basketball burnishing the entitled, bitter, racist, and profitable brand she’s cultivated at the expense of Caitlin Clark.Saturday afternoon, down double digits in what would become an embarrassing 35-point loss to the Indiana Fever, Reese played the victim and then unleashed her fear-inspiring, angry-black-woman routine. She tried to pick a fight with her alleged rival and the league’s meal ticket, Caitlin Clark. Ignoring the consequence of black feminism and matriarchal rulership betrays God, undermines the blessing of American citizenship, and dodges the harmful ramifications of the deconstructed family.Clark had delivered a “take” foul, striking Reese across her arms as the Chicago Sky forward attempted a layup. Reese flopped to the ground and then immediately sprung to her feet to confront Clark. Separated by a ref and Fever center Aliyah Boston, Reese pointed a finger and shouted profanities at Clark as the Fever guard walked away. The DEI-approved officiating crew huddled, looked at a replay, and somehow concluded that Clark’s common foul would be upgraded to a flagrant one. More confusingly, ESPN broadcasters Ryan Ruocco and Rebecca Lobo co-signed the upgrade. Following the game, Reese’s head coach, Tyler Marsh, added his stamp of approval, arguing that Reese’s overheated reaction was justified. A day later, the league office joined the psyop, issuing a statement that it would investigate Indiana Fever fans for hurling racist taunts at Reese. RELATED: ESPN leaves Caitlin Clark OFF top 5 women’s college basketball players list, relegates her to honorable mention Photo by Gregory Shamus/Getty ImagesOpening weekend of the WNBA perfectly encapsulated the “black fatigue” that all rational Americans have come to feel. The whole thing started when Reese shoved an Indiana Fever player to secure a rebound. She then cosplayed as victim, overselling Clark’s foul. The people in charge of supervising the game (referees) failed. They let Reese get away with an obvious shove and then over-penalized Clark on a routine play. The media empowered to hold the participants and supervisors accountable (Ruocco and Lobo) failed, too. Two white liberals, Ruocco and Lobo, protected themselves from backlash by protecting Reese. The leader of the Sky (Marsh) protected himself, too. He backed his irrational and emotional player. The league office fell for Reese’s lame excuse/racial hoax and blamed Fever fans. This is the power we’ve granted angry black women.Angel Reese epitomizes that power — the abuse of it and its negative outcomes. We’ve erected a system that rationalizes and rewards the irresponsible and angry behavior of black women and exaggerates their contributions to success.Systemic pandering is destroying America. It’s creating a fatigue that foments racial conflict. As a black man, I’m not supposed to express my black woman fatigue. It paints me as a sellout and an ally to anti-black bigots. It’s seen as a betrayal to my mother, my grandmother, my sister, my aunts, the wives of my friends and loved ones, Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Oprah Winfrey, and all the other so-called black queens.Have I sold out? Or have I researched and weighed the consequence of systemic pandering? Have I recognized that the black matriarchy sold out black men 60 years ago when it partnered with white liberal feminists and rejected the nuclear family and the patriarchy?Ignoring the consequence of black feminism and matriarchal rulership betrays God, undermines the blessing of American citizenship, and dodges the harmful ramifications of the deconstructed family. I would rather take the risks of exposing the insanity of feminism and correcting the unwise behavior of black women than continue suffering the crippling pathologies resulting from said behavior. The black woman’s embrace of masculinity, leadership, and loudness makes her position clear. She does not want a man, not a real one. She desires emasculated men, whoredom, and lesbianism. She rejects America’s patriarchal founding and does not value her American citizenship. She’s entitled, bitter, and racist. At what cost? The children she raises mostly alone are failing. They mirror her bitterness, entitlement, and bigotry. They’re easily triggered. Academic standards must be lowered to mask their lack of achievement. They’re uninterested in marriage. Highly sexualized dancing is their trademark behavior. Their most marketable skills are complaining about white people on social media, filling a DEI quota, or co-starring in black fatigue videos at airports, Carnival Cruises, school playgrounds, and Frisco, Texas, track meets.Male basketball players finance the WNBA. The league directly benefits from the patriarchy. But Reese and its players hate the patriarchy. From Richard Allen’s 1794 founding of the African Methodist Episcopal Church to Frederick Douglass to Booker T. Washington to Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X, the black man has stood as this nation’s symbolic moral conscience. The matriarchy and its offsprings rebranded “black culture” as the hub of sexual degeneracy, materialism, and bigotry. You think I’m unfair? You think I’m generalizing about a demographic that seeks clout and power from rallying around Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Karmelo Anthony? A demographic that demonizes Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, and Dr. Ben Carson? More than 90% of black women vote for the Democratic Party in every election. Democratic Party outreach to black voters consists of promoting black victimhood, black entitlement, black bitterness, and justification of anti-white racism. The three lesbian black women who founded Black Lives Matter normalized ancestor worship and necromancy (communicating with the dead) with the “say his name” chants. Ancestor worship and necromancy are strictly prohibited in the Bible. “Why consult the dead on behalf of the living?” (Isaiah 8:19).“There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination of the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).Black Lives Matter established the custom of the annual celebrations and remembrances of Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, etc. This post on X from popular Democratic Party operative Nina Turner is commonplace. It encourages black people to “never forget” victims of a race tragedy. The practice is not healthy, wise, or biblical. It’s begging people to ingest bitterness and use that as a primary motivation. It’s a mistake that promotes racism. We shouldn’t be surprised to see Angel Reese make that mistake. She’s been programmed by the matriarchy. RELATED: Angel Reese wants to become an OnlyFans model? Eileen T. Meslar/Chicago Tribune/Tribune News Service via Getty ImagesReese perfectly symbolizes the mindset of the typical American black woman. She rejects gratitude and emotes bitterness and entitlement. In a league that loses millions of dollars every season, Reese believes she’s underpaid. In a league benefitting significantly from Caitlin Clark, Reese hates the one player who might lead the league to profitability. Reese hates the player who has made her rich and famous. Reese is probably the 30th best player in the WNBA. Because of her one-sided feud with Clark, she’s arguably the second-most recognized player in the league and earning millions of dollars off the court. Male basketball players finance the WNBA. The league directly benefits from the patriarchy. But Reese and its players hate the patriarchy. Gratitude is at the foundation of a biblical worldview. Under the leadership of the black matriarchy, gratitude has all but disappeared from black culture and has been replaced by entitlement and exaggerated self-importance. Black women (and men) argue that “we built this country.” It’s an illogical claim from a demographic that has been 9% to 20% of America’s population throughout history. It’s nearly as illogical as the claim that “black women built the WNBA.” They built a league that averages $20 to $40 million in losses each year. Illogic fuels entitlement, bitterness, and bigotry. American citizenship is a blessing. People from all over the globe fight for American citizenship. Black Americans pretend our citizenship is a generational curse. American white evangelical Christians promote a religion that de-emphasizes skin color, emphasizes merit, and throws out a welcome mat to all would-be believers. Black Americans en masse support a political ideology that emphasizes skin color, undermines merit, and fights to uproot biblical traditions, principles, and morality.Anyone unfatigued isn’t paying attention, lives in fear of black women, or is foolish enough to believe white and Hispanic feminism are less deadly.

10 Best Games With Dual Protagonists

It’s often said that everyone is the protagonist of their own life’s story. That’s true enough here in the real world, but in the realm of fiction, where stories can be larger than life, it sometimes takes more than one protagonist to handle everything.
