The groups, described by the government as “spaces where employees of similar identities can talk freely amongst themselves and come together based on shared identities,” were supposed to “eliminate” the “barriers to equity.” It advertises several invite-only groups, including for Latinx, Working While Black, and even one called Not Your Dude, which is intended for “cis women, trans women, trans men, non-binary people, and those who are otherwise marginalized (i.e., non-hegemonic masculine folks).” The Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the top intelligence agency that oversees the CIA, NSA, FBI, and elements of the Pentagon, explained in a document obtained by The Daily Wire that affinity groups led a race-based leadership development program. The African American Affinity Network and the Latino Intelligence Network hosted a leadership summit where attendees “learned about unique opportunities at other agencies” and were invited to a workshop on building a professional brand. The document also shows that employee resource groups within the intelligence community for those who are Asian or Pacific Islander have influenced how America’s intelligence apparatus refers to our foreign adversaries. The employee organizations “have been particularly successful in creating a new framework and language guidelines for how we talk about the People’s Republic of China,” the document obtained by The Daily Wire reads. The Democrat-controlled Senate aims to reconsider a failed border security bill, but House Republicans warned the legislation would be “dead on arrival” if it gets sent their way. In a “Dear Colleague” letter on Sunday, Senate Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) announced plans to resurrect “The Border Act” as a standalone measure this week after it got blocked earlier this year when linked to foreign aid. “We are hopeful this bipartisan proposal will bring serious-minded Republicans back to the table to advance this bipartisan solution for our border,” Schumer said in his letter. Although Senate Republicans and Democrats spent months hashing out the bill, which seeks to tighten up the asylum process and shore up border security to get a grip on the migrant crisis, it failed to win over most GOP lawmakers. One particular aspect of the legislation that came under fire, concerning the Border Emergency Authority, led critics to say it would allow 5,000 people a day to come into the country and up to two million illegal entries a year. Sen. James Lankford (R-OK), who led the negotiations on the GOP side, argued the claims were untrue and insisted the provision was being misinterpreted, but he and other defenders of the bill failed to muster even 50 votes. After the compromise deal tying border security to foreign aid was stymied in the Senate in February, Congress went on to pass a $95 billion package to help U.S. allies in April. With Schumer announcing the border security legislation would get a second chance as a standalone bill, House Republican leaders repeated a warning they made when the legislation was previously considered. Israeli officials fired back at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Monday after the ICC requested arrest warrants for two Israeli leaders. The ICC on Monday requested arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for allegedly committing war crimes in Gaza. The court also requested warrants for Hamas’ top leader Yahya Sinwar, top political leader Ismail Haniyeh, and military commander Mohammed Dief. Israeli officials reacted strongly to the pursuit of warrants, largely a symbolic gesture, against Netanyahu and Gallant. The warrants, if obtained, have no legal authority in most countries, including Israel and the United States. “We have not seen such a show of hypocrisy and hatred of Jews like that displayed by the court in the Hague since Nazi propaganda,” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said, according to The Times Of Israel. “The Nazis also spoke in the name of ‘morality’ and there was nothing there besides antisemitism.” “Arrest warrants for them are arrest warrants for all of us,” Smotrich added. He got a special tennis ball pinata to celebrate his eighth birthday. When the pinata was first brought into the house, Sampson checked it out but wasn’t sure exactly what he was checking out.
