Native Diné Navajo relatives are driving through the reservation at night when they encounter coyotes and owls along the way. Fearing evil, they are saved by an ancestral spirit!I received the following email from a Navajo woman from Arizona:"This happened like 15 years ago when I was 17 years old. I was with my sister, her husband, her husband's sister, and two cousins who were brothers. We were driving back from Cortez going through the mountains near Steamboat, Arizona. It was late at night and all we could see ahead of us was darkness and tall trees. We were in a medium-sized white pickup truck. I was sitting in the front with my sister and her husband, while the others were sitting in the truck bed.All of a sudden a coyote ran in front of us. We started to say a prayer - this was bad luck. We continued driving for I don't know how long when 3 more separate coyotes crossed in front of us. We were starting to become frightened. Then right after the last coyote crossed, we started seeing owls. Owls are very bad luck, because this means that someone in your family will get hurt bad. It's a Navajo thing. Well we saw 6 owls all together. The weird thing about that was there were six of us.The night grew darker and longer, but we were near home. We pulled over for some reason, so I jumped in the back and one of the cousins got up front. Not soon after that, we were like 5 minutes away from the house on a dirt road. We can see the house and we were going like 30 MPH when all of a sudden something big and black jumped in front of us. We hit that 'thing' so hard that the front of the truck crumpled up from side to side.When we realized what just happened, we got out of the truck to look around. What was weird is that this 'thing' jumped out on the right side of us, but there was this big fence blocking the whole side of the road. We went to check out the front of the truck. We looked around but saw no evidence that we hit anything other than the damage to the truck. We tried to get the truck started but it wouldn't turn over and only one headlight was working, so we shined the light out there trying to see whatever it was we hit. We couldn't find anything - no footprints or blood drops anywhere.From the distance we started hearing two people laughing and whistling, running around us and hiding in the shadows. We knew that these were 'Witch People' and we just started praying in Navajo. 15 minutes went by and they were still laughing - an evil scary laugh. Then one of the cousins decided to run back to the house to get help, since we were not far away. While we were waiting, we noticed that we could only hear one person around us. We were scared and didn't know what was going to happen. Then in the distance we saw truck lights turn on and heading towards us. We were so happy.The cousin that ran to get help told us that he was being followed while heading towards the house. He said he could hear the person running in the shadow near him. He also said that when he was running by an empty water tank, you can hear it's laughter echoing off the tank. When we got back to the house, we called the police.When the police officer showed up we told him what happened. He told us to take him where it happened. The truck was still parked there with the one headlight on. He use his flashlight to look around for whatever it was we hit, but he couldn't find anything - no footprints walking off. I mean we hit that thing so hard that it should have died, but we just couldn't find it. While we were telling the police officer what happened, we just got this strong sense like he didn't want to be there. We didn't either.The following day, we called in a medicine man to have a prayer ritual done. While we were in the hogan, he was reciting his prayer. He was using his crystal to see what happened the night before. He told us that he saw all six of us lying around the truck....dead and disfigured. He said the 'thing' was an ancestor's spirit that saved us from a certain death from the witches. When we stopped the truck, we had interrupted their ceremony and that we had angered them. They shapeshifted and chased the truck on our way home. The spirit caught up with the skinwalkers and stopped their intended attack. I will never forget that night." The submitter tells a story that they had heard from their father, who was Hungarian and had no explanation of what he saw. Can you help to identify this being?"So my father has spent most of his life in the forest. According to my grandmother, it was kind of normal that my father went "missing" for 2-3 days in their local forest at the age of 6. He spent these days walking around, enjoying nature. After my grandmother realized they couldn't really stop him it has become a regular thing. This love of nature has stayed with my father for his whole life. He still goes out hunting and camping regularly. I'm telling this to give you some context. He has spent his whole life in nature, he knows every sound and recognizes every animal at a glance.He told me this story for the first time 15 years ago. As a skeptic, I did not pay much attention to it as I believed it to be a story he came up with to entertain/scare us. I started to take it seriously because from time to time he retold this and every detail stayed the same and he was visibly nervous during his "tale." He is not easily scared, so I feel like I can trust him with this and I can believe his story.THE ENCOUNTERSo one time he spent the night in the forest with his dog (A Dachshund trained for hunting). He was walking down a road separating two parts of the forest. He then realized that his dog who walked in front of him had stopped walking and ran back to my father and sat down behind his legs. Then my father saw that someone was coming from the forest. He believed it was someone on the back of a horse because he only saw the reflections of an eye but they were too high up to be a walking person. Then he realized the eyes were way bigger than that of a normal human. He said they were the size of tennis balls and they were also really far away from each other. He noticed that the creature was looking around because the reflections disappeared and reappeared as if it was turning its head.When the creature saw my father or at least acknowledged his presence he fixed its eyes on him and came out from the trees. According to Dad, it was levitating. It was at least 50 centimeters (~20 in) off the ground. It made no sound and was skinny, but was wearing some type of robe/clothing so there was "nothing else to see" beside his eyes that appeared to be a mix of red, brown, and grey. (But since the only light was coming from the moon and stars he was not so sure about the colors) He compared it to a 'Dementor' from the Harry Potter films.The creature did not confront my father, it simply levitated across the path and disappeared into the woods on the other side. This is weirder than it seems since that side of the forest is just a narrow, 3-4 meters (~150 in) wide region of trees. After the trees, there is a concrete fence to separate the forest from the factory.After this encounter, my father turned back because he did not want to risk a second meeting. He spent the rest of the night in a different area. In the morning he went back to check for trails but the creature had not left any signs of its presence. DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—Republican Sen. Deb Fischer of Nebraska, a two-term incumbent who won previous Senate races by at least 14-point margins, is in a race too close for comfort with just 18 days to election night. Fischer holds just a one-point lead over Dan Osborn, an independent candidate who has never held public office, according to FiveThirtyEight polling averages, making the Nebraska contest the closest race in the country in terms of polling. “This race should not be close,” Randy Adkins, University of Nebraska Omaha political science professor, told the Daily Caller News Foundation in an interview. “She should be winning by a very healthy margin—and she’s not.” Osborn, backed by progressive dark money groups, has managed to put traditionally ruby-red Nebraska in play for a Democratic pick-up through his campaign’s cultivation of a unique appeal as a populist with an independent streak and military and labor union credentials. Though Fischer’s quest for a third term is significantly closer than her previous runs, the Republican incumbent’s camp is confident Fischer will continue to pull ahead as the airwaves pummel Osborn as a “Democrat in disguise” and voters learn more about the candidate’s support for liberal policies. The Fischer campaign’s latest internal polling obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation shows Fischer up by seven points with slightly more than 4.2% of voters undecided and a margin of error of 3.9%. The result marked incremental progress for Fischer’s campaign from its prior internal polling, which showed Fischer up by a similar margin but with a larger percentage of undecided voters. “This poll confirms what we saw in last week’s poll results, that Nebraskans simply don’t agree with Dan Osborn’s support for amnesty, social security for illegal immigrants, extreme abortion, VP [Kamala] Harris’ plan to end the filibuster, or Bernie Sanders,” Derek Oden, Fischer campaign manager, said in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “We expect this positive trend to continue in the closing weeks as more Nebraskans learn that Dan Osborn isn’t an independent—he’s a liberal Democrat in disguise.” The Osborn campaign’s latest internal polling shows the independent candidate up by a similar margin. The Retire Career Politicians PAC has spent more than $3 million to back Osborn’s chances of knocking off the Republican incumbent. The PAC is partly financed by the Sixteen Thirty Fund, a progressive dark money network that receives financial support from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations. Hollywood star Julia-Louis Dreyfus of “Veep” fame recently held a tele-fundraiser in support of Osborn’s candidacy. Osborn’s campaign is also fundraising on the progressive fundraising platform ActBlue. The Nebraska State Republican Party described Osborn’s campaign of wielding a “smoke and mirrors”-style strategy to ditch a Democratic label that might be considered too toxic in a predominantly red state like Nebraska where registered Republicans outnumber their Democratic neighbors 2 to 1, and warned a similar scenario could play out in other red states or districts across the country in future election cycles to try to recreate Osborn’s success. “The Democratic political strategy is going to continue to be finding a candidate that they can run as an independent, fund them through their Democratic political apparatus, and try to ride on the wave of populism,” Eric Underwood, chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party, told the Daily Caller News Foundation in an interview. “It’s not going to stop just because Dan Osborn is going to lose in Nebraska.” The Nebraska State Democratic Party notably did not run a candidate, and Osborn rejected an endorsement from the party in May. Political observers have also pointed to Fischer’s campaign getting caught flat-footed after facing a noncompetitive primary challenger and spending more time in Washington engaged in committee work than on the campaign trail. “They realize now that they’re in a very competitive race,” Adkins told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The way we know as political scientists that the Fischer campaign realizes they’re in a competitive race is because A, they’re spending a lot of money; and B, she’s back in state campaigning full time; and C, there’s outside money pouring in the state.” According to Adkins, the massive influx of outside money flowing into Nebraska to aid Fischer’s campaign suggests that national Republican groups are taking no chances of a surprise loss in the Cornhusker State. The National Republican Senatorial Campaign, Senate Republicans’ campaign arm, has spent at least $700,000 in Nebraska, including a $172,000 joint ad-buy with Fischer’s campaign. Fischer’s campaign is confident the Republican incumbent will continue to pull ahead in a race where Republican attack ads have gone increasingly negative on Osborn. “His name is Dan Osborn and he’s a radical left person,” former President Donald Trump says in an ad that Fischer’s campaign put out this week. “He’s a Bernie Sanders-type Democrat, but we want somebody that’s going to be strong, powerful, and great for our country, and it’s not going to be Dan Osborn.” Osborn privately praised Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont during a small event in Omaha in September, the Washington Examiner first reported. “I love Bernie,” Osborn said. “But the bottom line is we do have to peel off some conservatives.” The Osborn campaign previously employed a finance staffer that worked on Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign and contracted work with a firm affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America, according to a recent report from The Washington Free Beacon. Osborn has also claimed that as an independent candidate he will not caucus with either party and form his own “Independent Caucus” if elected to Washington despite every independent senator currently serving caucusing with Democrats. “He will end up caucusing with the Democratic Party,” Underwood told the Daily Caller News Foundation in an interview. “Because of his stances on some of the major issues affecting the country—whether it’s illegal immigration, Social Security, the Green New Deal—he won’t be caucusing with the Republican Party.” The Osborn campaign declined the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment when asked for more details on the candidate’s “Independent Caucus” plan. Republicans are hoping to retake control of the Senate in November after spending nearly four years in the minority following former Republican Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler’s surprise losses in the Georgia Senate runoff elections in January 2021. Gravity fed water systems have been used for many hundreds of years to haul water from one place to another. This system uses the laws of gravity to move water from point A to point B and C if necessary. There are no pumps of any sort required for this system or electricity for that matter. Gravity Fed Water Systems It is simple but it can become difficult under certain conditions such as: The distance the water has to flow to reach its destination point. The slope of the incline, which determines how fast and how easy the water flows. The size of the pipes you use and if they have to interchange. How many side extensions will be used. The type of the terrain. The gravity fed water system is used to pull the water from springs, streams, creeks, rain barrels, and rivers upstream or uphill from the water source. You can use this system to provide water to your shower, gardens, animal barns, and even your whole house if you have it set up properly. My first gravity system project consisted of an off-grid shower system for my house. This is one of the most basic and easy of all to do so I figured it would be a great place to start for beginners. Now, the system I installed for my shower didn’t pull water from a creek or anything. What I did was used a solar pump to draw my water up from the spring-fed cistern into my water barrel upstairs. I installed a barrel above the shower in order to use gravity to allow me a running shower. The house I lived in was designed for off-grid living so there was a platform built directly above the shower for this specific purpose. If you don’t have an above shower platform, no worries, you can build or buy one. The platform should be somewhere between 7-9 feet high in order to get a good pull. If you don’t have a functioning rain barrel they’re pretty easy to make, you can even use a heavy-duty 5-gallon bucket. A system that is even easier to design and set-up is a garden watering system because not all houses were designed to build on in an off-grid manner. Using this system will save money on your water bill, if you have one, let’s get to it. Rain Barrels Here is a link to an article I wrote on how to make your own rain barrel and rain catchment system using the roof of your home or shed. You can find all of the parts at most any hardware store and it’s easy to put together. So once you have your rain barrel ready you need to build some sort of lifted platform to allow the gravity to provide the water pressure you need to use your hose for the garden. One thing to keep in mind is that the further the distance the water has to travel is the higher you’ll want your platform. I use a 50-gallon barrel and it weighs over 400-pounds so your platform has to be strong enough to hold a full load. You can purchase pre-made platforms or you can build it yourself. I didn’t have to build my outdoor platform for my gardens because I had an old set of concrete steps that worked just fine for it. If your water doesn’t have to travel far you’ll only need a 3-5 foot platform that is wide enough to hold your rain barrels but you can make it as high as you need, just remember it has to hold the weight. So why do some people prefer to use gravity fed water systems instead of electric or anything else? Well, the thing is depending on the location it could actually be one of the best options available. It’s free energy. For others, it may be a case of being so far out in the woods that there is no running water. I personally choose this way because it is available and I prefer to be as self-sufficient as possible. In a survival situation if the grid goes down it will be considered a luxury to have running water! All five of The View cast members present for Friday’s episode were married, but nearly every one of their husbands should consider hiring a private investigator because they spent part of the show bragging about how easy it would be to get away with cheating on them. Unironically coming after they whined about former President Trump attending a Catholic Charities dinner since he allegedly cheated on his wife Melania, Friday moderator Joy Behar brought up how Martha Stewart recently admitted “she was unfaithful to ex-husband Andrew Stewart for decades.” Behar essentially argued that men trusting their wives to be faithful somehow meant they were “clueless and egotistical.” “I say she got away with it because men are so clueless and egotistical, they think no one would ever cheat on them!” Behar proclaimed. “So, a woman could keep a secret better than a man. That’s my opinion.”  “Oh, 100 percent,” faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin blurted out in agreement. Claiming she would “never cheat on him,” Farah Griffin proceeded to explain how she could get away with it: FARAH GRIFFIN: No. I would preface this to say: My husband is the love of my life, I would never cheat on him, but I could absolutely get away with it! The number of – BEHAR: How? Tell us, how. FARAH GRIFFIN: Purchases I’ve made he’ll never know about. I could get a new piece of furniture and it’d take him weeks to notice in our house. I've been in different states and called him and he'd like, “are at home?” Like, completely forgets where I am. Yet, I always know where he I ate that day – BEHAR: So, he’s clueless.     Interestingly, in January 2023, Farah Griffin told her fellow cast members that she could forgive her husband if he had a drunken one-night stand as long as he didn’t catch feelings for the woman, a comment she doubled down on a month later. In June of that year, she explained how to introduce another lover into a relationship. Did we mention she’s supposed to be one of the “conservatives” around the table? Pretend moderate Sara Haines talked about how her husband was so busy, with many things vying for his attention, that he would likely miss all the signs that she was cheating: I get a haircut and my husband doesn't notice. He's looking at my face. And the other thing is, Max will may coffee – there are days I've come down to the coffee machine and there's no coffee in it, it’s just hot water. Or he’ll leave the pot out and it’s all coffee on the counter. He – Like, if he doesn't finish what he's doing and pay attention he's like a little nutty. Haines also admitted to trying to manipulate his emotions during arguments and whining about it not working. “I have literally, in fights, have sat there like this going [pretends to scroll on her phone and giggling at the screen], trying to get him to say, like, ‘who are you texting?’ Doesn't care,” she huffed. The other fake Republican on the set, Ana Navarro opined that women were supposedly better at sniffing out cheaters because they’re “so much more detail oriented. Right? We will notice a stray hair on a jacket. You smell a little weird today. You know, I mean, we'll notice all sorts of things.” She then touted that her husband Al Cardenas, former head of the American Conservative Union, likely wouldn’t notice her bring a man home while he too was in the house. “Al, if he's watching football, like if he's watching the Dolphins, I could literally bring a man into the house, have him in his bed, and if the Dolphins win he could probably spend the night and Al wouldn't even know,” she said. As for Sunny Hostin, she wasn’t so sure she could get away with it. “I have a totally different experience. I mean, I’m married to someone who is very, very exacting and very specific and notices everything,” she noted. Kamala Harris, Vice President and 2024 Democrat presidential nominee, has repeatedly called for censorship of political opponents, and she just reinforced her anti-free speech platform. During a CNN radio townhall this week with Charlemagne Tha God, Harris, who has an anti-free speech track record, complained about the alleged “challenges” of “disinformation.” The presidential nominee defended her many policy failures, including economic issues, and labeled critiques of her work as disinformation. Leftists use the word to justify censorship. Harris whined about those who challenged her policy positions. “One of the biggest challenges that I face is mis- and disinformation and it’s purposeful, because it is meant to convince people that they somehow should not believe that the work that I have done has — has occurred and has meaning,” she said. But overwhelming evidence suggests that the Biden-Harris administration has used censorship to control media narratives and quash speech that is disadvantageous to the left. MRC research, the Twitter Files, evidence discovered in the Murthy v. Missouri lawsuit, and a recent letter from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg have all clearly shown that the federal government (including the White House) has colluded with foreign government entitiesand social media companies to ensure that dissenting views are censored online.  Harris is not only implicated by the efforts of the censorship industrial complex, however, she also openly pressured Big Tech to censor her Republican opponent Donald Trump no fewer than five times in 2019. For example, on September 30, 2019, Harris asserted that Twitter (now X) should censor Trump while speaking on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360. “I, frankly, think that based on [Trump’s tweets] and all we’ve seen him do before, including attacking members of Congress, that he, frankly, his Twitter account should be suspended,” she said while running for the 2020 Democrat Party nomination.  Harris added, “I think there is plenty of, of now evidence to suggest that he is irresponsible with his words in a way that could result in harm to other people, and so the privilege of using those words in that way should probably be taken from him.”  More recently, during the 2024 CBS vice presidential debate, Harris’s running mate Tim Walz tried to justify online censorship. Radio host Dan Bongino issued a strong statement to fact-check a campaign account for Vice President Kamala Harris after it claimed former President Donald Trump ended an interview early because he was tired.Bongino, who interviewed Trump on Friday, said the presidential candidate stayed longer than what was originally scheduled and had to leave because of other events that were planned for the day."Trump abruptly ends his live interview after it is reported that he is canceling interviews because he is 'exhausted': 'Off the record, I gotta get going,'" Kamala HQ posted on X."BULLS**T. For the first time in four decades, the majority of Americans said they are worse off now than they were four years ago, according to a Gallup poll released Friday. Over half, 52%, of respondents said they are not better off than they were in 2020, while 39% said they are better off, according to the poll. This is the highest rate of dissatisfaction among Americans since 1992, when 46% said they were not better off than four years prior, while 38% said their situation had improved. This trend coincides with the economic confidence index, which puts confidence at a 26-point deficit in 2024 compared to a four-point deficit in 2020, according to the poll. The ECI has remained in the negatives over the last four years, while Americans are burdened with inflation and surging prices.Because of these hardships, the economy has risen to become the top priority for Americans, according to the poll. In January 2020, only 10% of Americans said the economy is the nation's most pressing issue, compared to nearly half in October 2024. Because of the country's economic standing, Americans' confidence in the job market has reached the lowest point since the pandemic, according to the poll. Nearly three-quarters of Americans said it was a "good time" to find a job in October 2021, compared to just 44% in October 2024. The economy and immigration are tied at 21% for the most important issue, followed by 17% of respondents who said the government and 14% who said inflation is the most important, according to the poll. Concerns about the economy, immigration, and the government in general have come to a head under the Biden-Harris administration. In July, the national debt surpassed $35 trillion for the first time in American history. At the same time, the Biden-Harris administration has signed off on the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act, which approved $1.9 trillion and $750 billion in spending, respectively. The border crisis has also been on voters' minds. Over the last three and a half years alone, there have been over 8 million migrant encounters on the southern border, according to the latest data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. "Historical trends suggest that perceptions of personal well-being and economic confidence can significantly impact election outcomes," Gallup noted. The Federal Emergency Management Agency was mocked and ridiculed on social media after U.S. Customs and Border Protection posted a video meant to promote the agency's hurricane aid efforts. The video shows government workers lined up to clear out logs from a residence as a chainsaw can be heard in the background. 'What the f*** am I watching?... This right here is why government doesn't work and can't solve problems.'"Along with our partners at @FEMA, we will continue with disaster recovery as a result of Hurricane Milton. The safety of the American people is our top priority," the tweet read. The video quickly went viral on social media after critics pointed out that having 14 government workers standing around to clear out logs was one of the least efficient ways to get the work done. "And every single one of these people is drawing a full salary, pension benefits and medical benefits. While getting almost nothing done. Imagine that," responded author Mike Adams. "Is it just me or is this an insane waste of resources? Put the @cbp officers on the border to stop #fentynal and hire some folks with chainsaws -- what am I missing?!" replied Leland Vittert of NewsNation. "We can get 14 federal officers to move an 18-inch log, but we can't get one Secret Service Agent to check out a sloped roof. Sadly, that tracks," said Virginia Kruta of the Daily Wire. "What the f*** am I watching? A couple of wheelbarrows, and you could do the same job with three or four guys. This right here is why government doesn't work and can't solve problems," read another tweet. "The U.S. Customs & Border [Protection] agency in action. This has to be a troll right? FEMA and the greater government effort to help hurricane victims has been under much scrutiny, especially on social media. In one instance, a National Guard helicopter flew far too close to private aid efforts and blew tents over, leading to a PR disaster. Rumors that FEMA is using the hurricane as an excuse to seize land from homeowners led to false reports that armed militia members were "hunting" government workers.
