CBS's Drag Queen Trio Equates Catholicism With 'Brain Rot'

Some people might be inclined to roll their eyes whenever someone says, “Imagine if they said that about Islam,” but such a hypothetical was warranted on Thursday’s edition of After Midnight on CBS. Host Taylor Tomlinson welcomed a trio of drag queens to her late night “comedy” game show to equate Catholicism with “brain rot” and exchange other bits of anti-Catholic and anti-Christian sentiment. Tomlinson, who has spent the last several years trying to disassociate herself with her younger self that started her comedy career at her church, set the stage, “If there is one thing Catholics hate, it's fun. They hate more than one thing.”     After the guffaws from the audience subsided, she continued, “Case in point: Pope Francis recently warned a committee of journalists that excessive scrolling causes ‘brain rot.' Oh, okay, well, how did he know about brain rot if he isn't scrolling all night? The Pontiff doth protest too much. Panelists, how chronically online is the Pope?” When Tomlinson assembled a panel of three drag queens, it was easy to predict where such a question would go. BenDeLaCreme went first, “So much that he has brain rot, or, sorry, Catholicism. I always get these two confused. Next up was the contestant with the sacrilegious pun name, Peaches Christ, who answered, “He is online so much that he calls shirtless pictures of Jesus thirst traps.” Finally, there was Jinkx Monsoon, who broke out the Italian accent despite the Pope being from Argentina, “He lost the Vatican in online poker. And now he has to sell a the pope rings on the Etsy.” When CBS decided to hire Tomlinson less than two years ago for a less political comedy game show, they had an opportunity to do something different and reach out to non-liberal audiences. Instead, they chose to do this. After Midnight is executive produced by Stephen and Evelyn Colbert, but despite his audience with the Pope, Colbert’s relationship with the religious left often prioritizes the “left” part. Here is a transcript for the January 30-taped show: CBS After Midnight 1/31/2025 12:49 AM ET TAYLOR TOMLINSON: If there is one thing Catholics hate, it's fun. They hate more than one thing. Case in point: Pope Francis recently warned a committee of journalists that excessive scrolling causes “brain rot.” Oh, okay, well, how did he know about brain rot if he isn't scrolling all night? The Pontiff doth protest too much. Panelists, how chronically online is the Pope? DeLa. BENDELACREME: So much that he has brain rot, or, sorry, Catholicism. I always get these two confused. TOMLINSON: Peaches. PEACHES CHRIST: He is online so much that he calls shirtless pictures of Jesus thirst traps. TOMLINSON: Jinkx. JINKX MONSOON: He lost the Vatican in online poker. And now he has to sell [ITALIAN ACCENT] a the pope rings on the Etsy.

He’s Gone for Good: The Worst of NBC’s Chuck Todd

It’s official! Chuck Todd is finally donezo at NBC!  According to Variety, the longtime NBC News correspondent and former moderator of Meet the Press is leaving the network for good: “Chuck Todd, the former Meet the Press moderator, is leaving NBC News, he told colleagues in a memo issued Friday, a move he’s making in order to pursue ventures outside the NBCUniversal empire.”  The writing was on the wall when Todd was replaced by Kristen Welker as moderator of Meet the Press back in 2023.  Todd had been moderator of the Sunday roundtable show since 2014 and in that time he put down a pretty big stamp of his own liberal bias on NBC’s political programming.  During his tenure Todd called the conservative Supreme Court “rigged,” attacked Republicans for having “blood on their hands” on COVID and blamed 2nd Amendment supporters for mass shootings. Todd also repeatedly pushed progressive takes and promoted liberal heroes like former Vice President Al Gore.  NewsBusters Media Editor Bill D’Agostino did his best to condense the worst of Todd in this brief montage.      It was a tough job sorting through his large file on NewsBusters but the following are just a few of his most egregious attacks on conservatives and his praise of progressives since 2014:   Trump Win Will Turn GOP Into a “Kleptocracy”     “My greatest fear about this election is if Trump wins…for a generation is what they believe this is how you conduct yourself in politics, and that this will cement this for a generation. I fear the transactional nature of him could actually turn the party into a kleptocracy if we’re not careful. And one thing about political parties when they lose, they end up trying to emulate the party that wins….While Democrats have been trying to be the anti-version of this — losing two out of three there’s going to be its own reckoning inside left that could have some saying, ‘Hey, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em’....whether it’s lying or exaggerating….That is what I think is on the ballot about our politics going forward for another half-generation.”— NBC News chief political analyst Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press, November 3, 2024.   Todd’s Turn to Compare Trump to Hitler “How did such a civilized nation like Germany end up bringing a tyrant like Adolf Hitler to power? Why wasn’t he stopped sooner? Why did it take a global war to stop him? Why did the German people usher him in, in the first place? Why didn’t the German people rise up themselves and stop him and the Nazis?...This recent history is what has motivated so many entities in American politics to make decisions on their own to confront the perceived threat of Trump. The lesson we all have taken from history is to stand up to tyrants, not to cower…. It’s the Republican Party members who are either going to have to do it or lose their careers trying. Because one day, association with Trump won’t be a golden ticket to winning a GOP primary, but a mark of shame in the history books. Let’s hope we won’t need to build new museums or exhibits to prove to the American public we’ve learned a lesson.”— Former NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd in a January 5, 2023 NBCNews.com article.   Hey Chuck! Isn’t the “Ugly” Part the Fact That the Bidens Are Rejecting a Child?  “[New York Times columnist] Maureen Dowd….had a pretty tough piece on Joe Biden’s — it was about sort of the Biden family isn’t acknowledging all of Hunter Biden’s children. ‘It’s seven grandkids, Mr. President, not six.’ I think we all understand the personal challenge and concern and all of these things that the President has here, but his political foes see this and they’re trying to exploit. There’s no doubt, every day DeSantis or Trump tries to use Hunter to beat up Biden….It’s really kinda ugly the way it’s been done.” — Moderator Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press, July 9, 2023.   Teaching Dangers of Communism is “Politicizing”     Clip of Governor Ron DeSantis: “We’re also the first state in the country to establish every November 10, the day in our schools is earmarked to teach our students at all grade levels about the evils of communist regimes throughout history we’re going to tell the truth about Marxism and Leninism.”... Moderator Chuck Todd: “Being a Floridian, I sort of know what he’s trying to play there and all of that. But I would tell him, I went to Florida public schools, we were taught this. It was called history. It just seems like a weird politicizing — you know he’s going out of his way to politicize something.”— NBC’s Meet the Press, March 12, 2023.   Worried About IRS Expanding? You Must Be a Tax Cheat “I have never understood the resistance of extra IRS agents unless you knowingly cheat on your taxes.”— Moderator Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press, May 21. 2023.   Todd Claims Scientific Research Proves There’s More Than Two Genders     Host Chuck Todd: “How do you know? Are you confident that you know that gender is as binary as you’re describing it? Are you confident?”GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy: “I am.”Todd: “That there isn’t a spectrum?” Ramaswamy: “I am.”Todd: “Do you know this as a scientist?”Ramaswamy: “Well, there’s two X chromosomes if you're a woman, and an X and a Y that means you’re a man.” …Todd: “There is a lot of scientific research that says gender is a spectrum.”— NBC’s Meet the Press, April 30, 2023.   Republicans Putting “Party Over Country”     “He [Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin] was specifically asked by my colleague Garrett Haake about your critique of Republicans that were campaigning with [Arizona gubernatorial candidate] Kari Lake….A lot of Republicans in the last three weeks that I would describe as empathetic to what you’ve been doing, have suddenly found themselves deciding, hey party over country. What do you make of those decisions?”— Moderator Chuck Todd to Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney on NBC’s Meet the Press, October 23, 2022.   Even Al Gore Was Surprised by Chuck’s Plea for Him to Run Again     Host Chuck Todd: “I’m not going to let you go without asking you this: Australia’s election was a climate change election. And you talked about, ‘In order to get that political will.’ Jay Inslee tried to run a climate-focused campaign, and it didn’t get off the ground. Why not you, Al Gore?Former Vice President Al Gore: “Why not me, as a candidate?”Todd: “Leading a climate change presidential campaign in the future.”Gore: “Oh, well, thank you for making the suggestion. You know, I’m a recovering politician. And the longer I go without a relapse, the less likely one becomes.”— NBC’s Meet the Press, July 24, 2022.   The Court Is “Rigged,” Not “Representative” of the “Country”     “There are no more black robes….the robes are red and blue….What’s striking about Roe is it’s the first time in my lifetime that I can think of where a Supreme Court took away a right…I can’t think of another court in the last hundred years that has done this. A right that was there, taken away….We’re used to the Supreme Court granting rights….Making it [the Court] be viewed as an extraordinarily partisan institution….There really is a lot of people who believe this is a rigged Court....This Court’s make-up isn’t quote ‘fair and square.’ It isn’t really representative of where the country is and even was.”— NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd on NBC News live coverage of the Supreme Court abortion decision, June 24, 2022.   Todd Mocks Prayer, Denies “Absolute Right” to Self Defense “Does Not Exist”     “It’s become our uniquely American ritual of words after each episode of this uniquely American serial tragedy. ‘Thoughts and prayers, nothing we can do. No law would have stopped this. The real problem is mental illness. If only the victims had been armed.’...No member of Congress has been voted out of office for being too pro-gun. Not one! So until the majorities who claim they want tougher background checks and to get assault weapons off the street, vote like they mean it, we can expect to hear more calls for thoughts and prayers and that’s it. Because this current version of the Republican Party is being held hostage by a vocal minority obsessed with an absolute right that does not exist.”— Moderator Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press, May 29, 2022.   “One Party” With Its “Religious Tenet” of Gun Rights      “You have one party that has decided that the Second Amendment is almost a religious tenet and there is such a fervor on it that you cannot have sort of a logical and rational conversation.”— NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd on MSNBC’s Katy Tur Reports, May 25, 2022.   Buffalo Shooter Is “Chickens Coming Home to Roost” for GOP’s “Rhetoric”     Host Chuck Todd: “Look at the way the right tried to weaponize the idea that the DHS was going to essentially try and attempt to monitor hateful rhetoric, right?...They want to make it seem as if it’s some sort of Big Brother….This is always what the right does to appease the white supremacist movement by saying ‘Hey, free speech. Don’t touch speech.’”...Correspondent Garrett Haake: “Right, the Ministry of Disinformation they called it.”...Todd: “This is, sort of, the chickens coming home to roost. They’ve been appeasing this wing of the party for years and years and years. And now they are stuck with this group.”— Host Chuck Todd on MSNBC’s MTP Daily, May 17, 2022.   Not Logical! Voters Believe Putin Wouldn’t Have Invaded Ukraine, If Trump Was Still President  “Swing voters, Trump/Biden voters, they seem to buy the idea that [Vladimir] Putin wouldn’t have done this if [Donald] Trump was President. How does the Democratic Party answer for that? I don’t buy that, I don’t think that that matches logic, but voters do.”— Moderator Chuck Todd on NBC’s MTP Daily, March 4, 2022.   Biden’s Low Approval Ratings? Trump’s Fault!  “It seems as if there’s nothing the White House can do to improve their political standing, these days. It does feel like every week there’s another poll, a new bottom….and some of it is out of their control....His two big promises were to get COVID behind us and to get rid of Donald Trump. COVID’s not behind us and Donald Trump’s still lurking. It’s not his fault.”— Host Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press, December 12, 2021. Right-Wing Media “Misinformers” Have “Blood on Their Hands”     “The pandemic has been relentless. And since Biden tried to declare independence from it on July 4th, more than 160,000 Americans have been added to our death toll, despite vaccines being widely available. Obviously, most of those recent deaths are the unvaccinated. So the folks with blood on their hands there are the misinformers, particularly in right-wing media….The unfortunate dark reality is they [Biden administration] are fighting some powerful forces of defiance and disinformation, which have only worsened the partisan gap and human suffering.”— Host Chuck Todd on MTP Daily, November 19, 2021.   Republicans Are Usually Wrong, But There’s No Liberal Bias “We should have fought back better in the mainstream media. We shouldn’t [have] accepted the premise that there was liberal bias. We should have defended. I hear the attacks on fact checkers where they ‘fact-check Republicans six times more than they fact-check Democrats.’ Yeah. Perhaps the Republicans are being factually incorrect more often than the Democrats. We ended up in this both-sides trope. We bought into the idea that, ‘oh my God, we’re perceived as having a liberal bias.’ And I think for particularly the first decade of the century, I’d say mainstream media overcorrected. And we bought into the Fox motto of ‘balance.’ And it’s like, Jesus, there’s no balance, they need the truth.”— NBC’s Meet the Press host Chuck Todd in July 27, 2021 interview with TheVerge.com.   Biden Might Be Too Forgiving!     “He is the better angel President….Joe Biden is a forgiver. And it’s going to frustrate some Democrats at times. Because I think some of the – he is going to be more – he is going to want to figure out a way to put his arm around some of these folks in a way – even frankly when they don’t deserve it.”— NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd on MSNBC’s live coverage of Joe Biden Inauguration, January 20, 2021.   Presenting Limbaugh with Medal of Freedom = “Finger-In-the-Eye” to Democrats     “It [presenting Rush Limbaugh with Medal of Freedom] was the President trolling the Democrats....Honoring Rush Limbaugh, in that moment....to do it on the House floor was definitely a finger-in-the-eye of [Nancy] Pelosi, a finger-in-the-eye of the Democrats.”— NBC’s Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd during NBC News post-State of the Union coverage, February 4, 2020.   Trump Voters Believe in Biblical “Fairy Tales,” “Want to Be Be Lied To”      “I want to read you guys a letter to the editor that we found in the Lexington Herald-Leader. It was a fascinating attempt at trying to explain why some people support President Trump. Here’s what he says. ‘Why do good people support Trump? It’s because people have been trained, from childhood, to believe in fairy tales. This set their minds up to accept things that make them feel good. The more fairy tales and lies he tells, the better they feel. Show me a person who believes in Noah’s Ark, and I will show you a Trump voter.’ Look, this gets at something...that my executive producer likes to say, is ‘Hey, voters want to be lied to, sometimes. They don’t, they don’t always love being told hard truths.’”— Host Chuck Todd on NBC’s Meet the Press, December 29, 2019.   Chuck Todd Aids in Promotion of Antifa Violence     “Mark Bray, you are writing this book Antifa, the Anti-Fascist Handbook. Explain this movement and its roots....What do you say to those that are concerned that: ‘Hey, you’re handing – you’re allowing this – these white supremacists to claim victim hood here....What do you say to that criticism since the President is trying to essentially create a false equivalency here?... The historical aspect of fascism has only been defeated with violence. I assume this the argument you’d make, right, Mark?”— Host Chuck Todd to Antifa supporter Mark Bray on MSNBC’s MTP Daily, August 16, 2017.   Likening Trump to Hitler      Host Chuck Todd: “David, the visual, the hands go up, Trump [at rally] asks for a pledge. I was flabbergasted.”New York Times columnist David Brooks: “If we’re going to get Trump, we might as well get the Nuremberg rallies to go with it.”— NBC’s Meet the Press, March 6, 2016.

OF COURSE: Jorge Ramos Fawned Over the Woke Bishop That Called Trump Out

Former Univision anchor Jorge Ramos was once considered the most influential among Spanish-speaking media figures in the United States, and was compared to Walter Cronkite. Ramos is of course gone from Univision but still chooses to opine on the issues of the day, even if his sway within the community these days is more comparable to shouting-in-the-void Keith Olbermann. Ramos decamped to Substack after his defenestration from Univision, as appears to be the custom these days. His latest column is a paean to the woke bishop that did a performative chastisement of President Donald Trump at the prayer event subsequent to his inauguration. Ramos knows a thing or two about performative confrontation. After all, he stage-managed the heckling then-Candidate Trump’s 2015 press conference in Iowa, which helped him briefly cross over into Resistance Media stardom: PETER MANSBRIDGE, CBC: Why did you make the decision that you had to go to Iowa to confront Donald Trump? JORGE RAMOS, UNIVISION: As you know, television… television doesn't happen. Television is produced. It is created. And, so we brought three cameras, we brought microphones, and our purpose was to talk to Donald Trump. And confront Donald Trump. That was the purpose. As a journalist. MANSBRIDGE: A confrontation. RAMOS: I wanted to ask him a question- many questions, but (...) yes, it was going to be a confrontation. ...  MANSBRIDGE: You keep calling it questions, your “questions”, where in fact you didn’t ask a question. They’re statements, not questions. … MANSBRIDGE: You can not deport 11 million people … RAMOS: You can not deport 11 million… you can not deport 11 million people. … MANSBRIDGE: You can not deport 11 million… you can not deport 11 million people … RAMOS: You can not build a 1900-mile wall. … MANSBRIDGE: You can not deny citizenship to children in this country. … RAMOS: You can not deny citizenship to children in this country. … RAMOS: I confronted him on the fact that he wants to deport 11 million people, and build a wall, and deny citizenship. … RAMOS: We thought that in Dubuque, Iowa, there would be just a few journalists following the candidate. And we were right. So we showed up like two hours before, we brought three cameras, and then we made a plan. I was going to be wearing a microphone so my voice would be at the exact same level as his when we start editing … DONALD TRUMP: No, you haven’t you haven’t been called. RAMOS: I have… I have the right to ask a question. And this is...no. And this is the question. You can not deport 11 million… you can not deport 11 million people. You can not build a 1900-mile wall. You can not deny citizenship to children in this country. … RAMOS: Then we had the three cameras well-positioned, the lighting was right, and then I made a plan. (...) We planned everything. … RAMOS: TV, television doesn't happen. You create it. You produce it. It doesn't happen just like that. And that’s exactly what we did. (...) We NEEDED TO CONFRONT HIM. … CHRIS CUOMO, CNN: You wanted to get into a fight with him and you got your fight. … RAMOS: We will be judged, as journalists, by how we responded to Donald Trump. By this measure, response to Donald Trump, Bishop Budde passed with flying colors: But more than anything, she is the only person in these days of parties, pardons, threats and vengeance who has dared to confront Donald Trump frontally. "I ask you to have mercy on the people in our country who are scared now," she asked Trump, who moved uncomfortably in his seat and avoided making eye contact. "There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican and Independent families who fear for their lives." That seemed aimed directly at Trump, who during his inaugural speech just hours before had declared that the official policy of his administration would be to recognize "only two genders, man and woman." But Bishop Budde did not stop there. "The vast majority of immigrants are not criminals," the bishop told the president, without raising her voice but contradicting the Trump narrative since 2015. "I ask you to have mercy, Mr. President, on those in our communities whose children fear that they will be taken away. And that you help those who are fleeing war zones and persecution in their own lands to find compassion and welcome here." It has been almost a decade since Donald Trump went down the gilded staircase at his eponymous Tower, and Jorge Ramos is still trying to stick it to him any chance he can get. From reading the column one can glean that Ramos almost views the woke bishop as a proxy of sorts, delivering that should be his arguments during his performative confrontation of Trump. The column winds down with Ramos’s own imagined wordy heckling on an entire array of issues beyond immigration, and with his trite accusation of anyone who disagrees with his screeds as a traitor: His interventionist comments on Mexico, Panama, Canada and Greenland break all international rules. His pardons of the Jan. 6 insurrectionists at the Capitol open the doors to more political violence. His indifference to global warming puts the planet at risk. His order to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organizations leaves us more vulnerable to another pandemic. His refusal to admit he lost the 2020 elections is a giant and dangerous disinformation campaign and a terrible example for authoritarian regimes. Taking away the citizenship of children born in the United States violates the constitution and more than 200 years of tradition. And his accumulation of power -- he controls the executive branch and Congress and a majority in the Supreme Court -- threatens US democracy. The lesson provided by Bishop Budden is hard hitting. For religious people, journalists, politicians, human rights activists and advocates of cultural diversity, for defenders of the environment, and for so many others, to remain silent in the face of many of Trump's proposals is to betray themselves and betray those around them. I am relieved to only have to read these words in a Substack article. A television interview between Ramos and Bishop Budde, who speaks fluent Spanish, would have been ten times as insufferable.

Trump's new lawyers move to appeal New York criminal conviction over 'misuse' of law

President Donald Trump secured a new legal team as he moves to appeal the New York criminal conviction where a jury found him guilty of all 34 counts of falsifying business records.Earlier this month, Judge Juan Merchan sentenced Trump to an "unconditional discharge," meaning the president would not face jail time, fines, or probation supervision. While the sentencing did not interfere with Trump's ability to return to the White House for his second term, it officially solidified his felony convictions and, in doing so, allowed the appeal process to begin.'The misuse of the criminal law by the Manhattan DA to target President Trump sets a dangerous precedent.'During his sentencing, Trump called the case a "setback for New York" and its court system. "It was done to damage my reputation so I would lose the election, and obviously that didn't work," Trump stated."I got indicted over calling a legal expense a legal expense," he continued. "I just want to say I think it's an embarrassment to New York."Trump's new legal team, led by Robert Giuffra with Sullivan & Cromwell, filed a notice to appeal on Tuesday, formally starting the process.Giuffra and several other Sullivan & Cromwell attorneys — James McDonald, Morgan Ratner, Jeff Wall, and Matthew Schwartz — are expected to submit a legal brief in the coming months to make the case for an appeal of the convictions.Trump was previously represented by attorneys Todd Blanche and Emil Bove in the New York case that accused him of hiding hush-money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.Since Trump's November presidential election victory, Bove has become the acting deputy attorney general for the Department of Justice. Trump nominated Blanche as deputy attorney general. He is currently awaiting confirmation.Giuffra stated, "President Donald J. Trump's appeal is important for the rule of law, New York's reputation as a global business, financial, and legal center, as well as for the presidency and all public officials.""The misuse of the criminal law by the Manhattan DA to target President Trump sets a dangerous precedent, and we look forward to the case being dismissed on appeal," he continued. The appeal will first be heard in New York's Appellate Division court and then move to the state's highest court, the State Court of Appeals in Albany.Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg will have an opportunity to respond to Trump's argument for the appeal.Bragg's office did not respond to a request for comment from The Hill.Like Blaze News? NBA commissioner Adam Silver suggests 10-minute quarters, claims league's ratings are 'fine'

NBA commissioner Adam Silver floated several new ideas to make NBA games more globally appealing and line up with how the sport is played internationally.Silver said that while he believes fans like what they've been seeing on the court, there is room for improvement to make the game more consistent with how it's played in other countries. This included decreasing the length of a quarter from 12 minutes to 10 minutes. "The NBA is the only league that plays 48 minutes. And I would be, I am, a fan of four 10-minute quarters. I'm not sure that many others are," Silver said. The commissioner's reasoning was in direct reference to modern TV formats that he felt audiences are used to."I think that a two-hour format for a game is more consistent with, sort of, modern television habits," he said on the "Dan Patrick Show.""People in arenas aren't asking us to shorten the game. But I think as a television program, being two hours, it's Olympic basketball, it's two hours, you know, college basketball." A 40-minute game would likely help with players' complaints about "load management," a buzzword that has trended in the league for a couple seasons, referring to players wanting more rest and having to manage their output. In theory, saving eight minutes per game for 82 games is the equivalent of shaving off about 13 or 14 games, something Silver said he would be a fan of."I don't think most fans would be disappointed if it was a two-hour presentation instead of — our game is actually about two hours and fifteen minutes."'Ratings are fine.'At the same time, Silver shrugged off a couple of wild ideas from host Patrick. These included eliminating three-point shots from the in-season tournament and lighting up the court "like a pinball machine" to indicate when three-pointers are allowed. The only other suggestion Silver briefly mentioned was two free throws for a foul on a three-point shot but not in the last two minutes of the game.Silver also boldly claimed that "ratings are fine" for the NBA, a viewpoint that hasn't been shared by analysts like Colin Cowherd. The host suggested in December that NBA ratings were down as much as 48% year-over-year.Others, like Shaquille O'Neal, have disagreed with Silver's suggestion that no one has a problem with the game on the court, too.Shaq has stated multiple times that he felt an excess of three-point attempts have made the game less exciting, particularly because more long-distance shooting means less dunking.Silver fell back on the idea that he was just floating suggestions because he was asked; however, as Patrick pointed out, league owners will soon be getting together to vote on any changes. Conservative columnist kicked off British show after pointing out Dems' hypocrisy after air collision

Kurt Schlichter, an author and columnist at Townhall, got into a testy exchange with a British news host while discussing President Donald Trump's reaction to the air collision that took place at Washington, D.C.'s main commercial air hub, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.A U.S. military Black Hawk helicopter crashed into an American Airlines flight as the plane was landing, resulting in no survivors. Over 60 people died in the collision. Trump pointed to how the Obama and Biden administrations pushed the Federal Aviation Administration to diversify air traffic controllers because there were too many white men in the jobs, resulting in the industry's shortage of air traffic controllers. When Trump was asked about his comments during Thursday's White House press briefing, Trump said he knows DEI policies are partly to blame for the tragedy because he has "common sense. And, unfortunately, a lot of people don't."'I guess I'm lucky I didn't get arrested for criminal wrongthink!'"Do you think it's appropriate for the president of the United States within 24 hours, when you have 67 families grieving, is it really appropriate to indulge in this unevidenced speculation, when surely what he should be doing is encouraging the flight investigators to get to the truth?" LBC host Iain Dale asked Schlichter.Schlichter, a U.S. Army veteran and attorney, said in his career, he never had to be encouraged to do his job correctly."As for the timing, well, I'd like to see the memo about when the timing's right. All I know is every time some psychotic leftist murderer goes on a shooting spree, within 40 seconds, I get told I need to disarm myself. ... So I'm going to need to know the rule ..." Schlichter replied."Can you get this numbskull off our program, please? I never want to speak to him again," Dale interjected.
