‘DOGE’ in the States: How Virginia’s DOGE Made 25% of Regulations and Fees ‘Disappear’

Following up on a story we shared with you on April 25th, more states are looking for their own “DOGE,” or Department of Government Efficiency. In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis launched a “DOGE task force” to audit spending, cut bureaucracy, and eliminate DEI programs. Earlier this year, the Georgia Senate passed a bill aimed at reducing costs and increasing accountability for state agencies by having them review and update rules and regulations every four years. Iowa’s Gov. Kim Reynolds announced the creation of an official state DOGE task force. Similar efforts in Kansas, Missouri, New Hampshire, North and South Carolina, and Oklahoma are looking to find those places within the bureaucracy that have become overgrown. While most DOGE’s won’t be led by someone as enigmatic as Elon Musk, they will all need direction. Virginia’s version of DOGE is the Office of Regulatory Management and has been around since 2022, when Gov. Glenn Youngkin issued Executive Order 19 creating it. Most magicians don’t want to give away the secrets to their act, but Reeve Bull, the director of Virginia’s Office of Regulatory Management, sits down with The Daily Signal to explain how he and the Virginia government agencies that he’s been working with have made nearly 25% of Virginia’s regulations and fees “disappear”: The post ‘DOGE’ in the States: How Virginia’s DOGE Made 25% of Regulations and Fees ‘Disappear’ appeared first on The Daily Signal.

In Hur Interviews, Biden Forgot Names of Jay Leno, Obama Sec Def, and Thought Africa Was a Country

Former President Joe Biden forgot the names of President Barack Obama’s former secretary of defense and comedian Jay Leno; referred to Africa as a country, not a continent; and was unaware he had in his possession a notebook with war advice in it for Obama during his interview with special counsel Robert Hur and investigators in October 2023. The Daily Signal obtained and reviewed the audio of the two interviews conducted by investigators on Oct. 8 and Oct. 9, 2023, as part of an investigation into the former president’s handling of classified documents. Transcripts of the special counsel’s interviews with Biden were released on March 12, 2024, as Hur prepared to present his findings to Congress. But because the president was prone to verbal incoherence, those who questioned Biden’s mental fitness demanded the full release of the audiotapes. Biden, however, blocked the release of the tapes by invoking executive privilege in May 2024. Now out of office, Biden’s physical and mental health appears to continue to decline. Over the weekend, it was disclosed that Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. The recorded interviews do little to help Biden counter the allegations that the former president was mentally unfit while serving as commander in chief. The First Interview: Oct. 8, 2023 During Biden’s first interview with Hur, he appears to refer to Africa as a country, rather than as a continent, without correcting himself. “And I mean, we have a chance to fundamentally change and make [sic] different and more secure that part of the world which China’s influence is seeking to be profound the same way in Africa. I mean, we have plenty of people in Africa, but guess what? We’re going to build the first transcontinental railroad across that country,” Biden said, which appeared to be a reference to the Lobito Corridor railway project partially funded by the U.S. Biden also seemed to not be able to recall when he ceased to be vice president of the U.S., which was Jan. 20, 2017. Someone in the recording has to remind him of the year. “Well, if it was 2013, um, when did I stop being vice president?” Biden asks. A person in the transcript supplies the answer of 2017.  “So, I was vice president. So, it must have come from [sic] vice president’s stuff,” Biden then said.  Biden also had to correct himself about the government office—the presidency—that he was currently occupying when discussing fundraising for his prospective presidential library.  “How could you raise money anyway while I’m a U.S. senator? I mean, [pause] a president,” Biden said. He failed to immediately recall that he was the incumbent president when discussing his future presidential library, which of course would only exist because he was a president. The Second Interview: Oct. 9, 2023 During the first interview, Biden admitted that he did not know how he was still in possession of a letter written while he was vice president to Obama, one that contained information about the White House’s strategy in Afghanistan. The letter was found in one of his notebooks in a drawer at his lake house. “I don’t recall how it got back in the book, because I sent it to the president. I gave it to the president, and this looks like the original. I don’t think there’s a copy made of it,” said Biden. Informed that he had faxed the letter and held onto the original, Biden received that as news. “Oh, OK, that’s why,” he said.  “OK, I got it. I wasn’t sure how I got—how I, whether I gave, handed it to the president. It was faxed to the president, which I had the copy?” Hur responded, “Right, you had the original.”  “Yeah, I had the original. I just put it in the book, and that was it.” said Biden. This pattern of confusion over classified materials in his possession would continue throughout Biden’s exchanges with Hur. The investigation began after troves of sensitive documents from Biden’s time as vice president to Obama were found at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., and Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware, home. Though Biden had more than five decades of experience in Washington—during which Biden served as the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, vice president, and president—he told investigators that he was unaware of the distinction between “classified” and “top secret” material. “Are you aware that among certain categories of classified information, there is ‘top secret,’ ‘secret,’ and there’s also a category of classified information called ‘confidential?’” Hur asked him. “Is that something that you’re aware of or not?” “I guess,” Biden said. “I don’t ever remember.” After a long pause, Biden said, “when I got any document that was confidential, that was meant for me to read and/or discuss with the people who sent me the memo.” Asked if he had any other documents or memos in his possession after his vice presidential term with sensitive information about Afghanistan, Biden again could not give a definitive answer. “Not knowingly,” he replied. “I mean, it wasn’t anything I consciously—there may have been something that was kept in the notebook or something, but I—unconscious.” At another point in the interview, when discussing a document about the hunt for al-Qaida mastermind Osama Bin Laden and the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan, Biden forgot the name of former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. When investigators presented Biden a document with notes from a meeting on Sept. 29, 2009, Biden struggled to remember the debate about nation-building efforts in Afghanistan once Bin Laden was caught and killed. Eventually, Biden tells the investigators that “the debate was with [now-retired Army Gen. Stanley] McChrystal and company that if somehow we defeated al-Qaida and killed Bin Laden in Pakistan,” would the United States continue its operations in Afghanistan. “The answer … was yes,” Biden said. But Biden, though answering the question, forgets the question: “What was the question?” The former president asked. When the investigators repeated the question and asked if Biden remembered the conversation, Biden replied, “Not per se, but it was a generic exchange. I remember the debate related to whether or not, um, uh, Pakistanis were—we got rid of Bin Laden in Pakistan and, uh … .” An uncomfortably long pause followed Biden’s apparent confusion about the nature of U.S. operations in Pakistan versus Afghanistan. When Biden started speaking coherently again, he forgot the name of Robert Gates, who spent nearly five years as secretary of defense under both Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. “What’s his name? From Texas, secretary of defense,” Biden asks before others in the room reply “Gates.” Biden also forgot the name of comedian and car enthusiast Jay Leno during his Oct. 9 interview. As Biden attempts to remember how and when the boxes of sensitive documents ended up in certain places in his garage, Biden starts to talk about how boxes may have moved around because his Corvette was undergoing repairs. The “Corvette was being worked on because I had to do that show with um … ,” Biden says, failing to remember the famous comedian. “Jay Leno,” someone interjects.  Remembering the name of Leno started the then 80-year-old president on another ramble. “Jay Leno—didn’t have to, but I wanted to do that show,” Biden said, then prattling on about how he would drive his Corvette to the bottom of his driveway and revving the engine. The thought of revving the engine of his Corvette seems to have led Biden to yet another tangent. One of the “best parts of being vice president and president,” Biden said, was “you get to drive all these … electric vehicles.” “Damn, they’re quick,” Biden continued. “Think about this. You had one of those big, um, uh, four by fours. The, uh, I think it’s a, uh, Ford Bronco, whatever it is, zero to 60 in 4.6 [seconds].” “By the way, you know how it works? It’s, it’s really cool!” Biden said, but investigators tried to get him back to the subject at hand. “I would love to hear much more about this, but I do have a few more questions to get to,” one investigator said. “I’ll take 30 seconds,” Biden said, overruling the investigator. “You put your foot on the brake, you hit, you hit, um, uh, a button, that’s in the … and it says, ‘launch.’ Step your foot accelerator all the way down until it gets about to six, seven grand, and all of a sudden, It’ll say ‘launch.’ All you do is take your foot off the brake. Vroom!” In February 2024, Hur released his findings in a 345-page report. Though Hur found that Biden “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials” upon leaving the Obama administration, the special counsel decided not to press charges because Biden came off like a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” which would make it difficult for a jury to convict Biden of knowingly keeping the documents. Furthermore, Hur noted that “significant limitations” to Biden’s memory became apparent over the course of the five hours of interviews. Whoopi Claims: No Biden ‘Health Cover-Up,’ Trump Could Be Deported

Clean up on aisle ABC. Far-left moderator of The View, Whoopi Goldberg was busy during Monday’s episode as she desperately tried to clean up the growing scandal surrounding former President Biden’s recently disclosed prostate cancer diagnosis. While claiming that there was no way Biden had known about the cancer while president, she went on to falsely claim that President Trump’s push to end birthright citizenship could lead to him getting rounded up by ICE and deported to Germany. “Now, this diagnosis has been met with an outpouring of support on both sides of the aisle. I mean, it was surprising to see some of the people who -- who wished them well and it made me feel better,” she proclaimed near the top of the show. She rhetorically scoffed at “claims of [a] health cover-up” by the Biden administration and worried that “this cancer diagnosis [could] add fuel to the fire.” The cast ignored the suspicious timing of the disclosure, which came the same day audio leaked of Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Hur. Audio which proved Biden’s cognitive decline since he couldn’t remember when his son Beau died and had long awkward pauses. Goldberg went on to argue, without evidence, that there was no way for Biden to have known about the cancer while president, because he would have told us already: But I want to point out to people that had this been the case while he was president, there's no way you wouldn't have known because he would have had to have these treatments. So this is not something he was carrying around or that he was hiding. But that’s not accurate. In 2021, Biden had a polyp removed during a colonoscopy and stage four cancers don’t just materialize out of nowhere. It also followed the same track that the White House did in fact try to cover-up his cognitive decline.     Later in the show, Goldberg tried to float a wishful conspiracy theory about President Trump, suggesting that his desire to end birthright citizenship was so ill-conceived that he could end up deporting himself: But that brings to an interesting point you see, because they are going to have to figure out when this takes place. Is this going to be from people from 1950 all the way to here? Because if it is, if it's from -- depending on how far back you go, the President whose dad came from Germany to Canada to the U.S. would not be able to stay. Aside from ignoring the fact Trump’s family came to America legally, Goldberg got the facts of Trump’s family history completely wrong and was forced to correct herself. “Donald Trump's dad was born here, his grandfather was not. My bad. You know, that's what we do,” she stated, failing to touch how the facts upended her point. The other cast members also had things to spout off about regarding Biden’s cancer diagnosis. Sunny Hostin made the diagnosis about Trump: I don't think this is a time for politics. But what I will say is that this administration has cut cancer funding research by 31 percent, since 2025. And the U.S., for having -- being such a wealthy country, seems to be cutting cancer research not only for our elderly, our men, but also our children. While faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin claimed she “cried” when she heard the news and scolded critics: “I think there is a way to have those conversations that's responsible, that's respectful, and then there is a way that just political like punditry and isn't helpful to anyone.” Fake Republican Ana Navarro went the disgusting route and told Biden’s critics to lick her ass: GOLDBERG: We know about his struggles and now we know about this one. And I just, again, want to commend the people who cut their tongues off and said, ‘get well soon,’ you know? Because I think that it jus- it did something for me. NAVARRO: The people that didn't cut their tongues off, I have a place where they can put them. Nothing but class from The View. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View May 19, 2025 11:03:10 a.m. Eastern (…) WHOOPI GOLDBERG: Now, this diagnosis has been met with an outpouring of support on both sides of the aisle. I mean, it was surprising to see some of the people who -- who wished them well and it made me feel better. It made me feel better about it. Because now I don't mind fighting, do you know what I mean? Because I know you're here. I know someone is in there. And it also claimed -- there's lots of claims of health cover-up. (…) 11:04:01 a.m. Eastern GOLDBERG: So will this cancer diagnosis add fuel to the fire or should politics be put aside for a minute and just let's get through this? SUNNY HOSTIN: I’ll just say – You know – I think – It – he – What he said cancer touches us all when he posted this on social media, is so true. I'm sure that every single person in this audience and at this table knows someone who has had cancer, is a survivor of cancer, or has died from cancer. One of my best friends died from breast cancer and colon cancer. So, I think that the majority of U.S. families will feel for the Bidens. I don't think this is a time for politics. But what I will say is that this administration has cut cancer funding research by 31 percent, since 2025. And the U.S., for having -- being such a wealthy country, seems to be cutting cancer research not only for our elderly, our men, but also our children. (…) 11:05:31 a.m. Eastern ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: I think that it's really uncomfortable to talk about issues of aging, of mortality, of getting older. Every family has dealt with when they see somebody they love starting to slow down or starting to slip up, getting that diagnosis, that's heartbreaking. And I think there is a way to have those conversations that's responsible, that's respectful, and then there is a way that just political like punditry and isn't helpful to anyone. Because if it is, if it's from -- depending on how far back you go, the President whose dad came from Germany to Canada to the U.S. would not be able to stay. (…) 11:29:16 a.m. Eastern GOLDBERG: I have a correction I need to make. Donald Trump's dad was born here, his grandfather was not. My bad. You know, that's what we do. If we get something wrong we correct it, because that's what adults do.

Trump signs bipartisan bill tackling 'horrific' revenge porn, AI deepfakes

President Donald Trump signed the Take It Down Act into law on Monday, a bill that toughens penalties for the distribution of revenge porn and AI-generated deepfakes. The bill was first introduced by Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota before it was additionally spearheaded by first lady Melania Trump. The bill, which passed both the House and the Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support, aims to hold both individuals and platforms accountable for distributing nonconsensual materials. 'This legislation is a powerful step forward in our efforts to ensure that every American, especially young people, can feel better protected from their image or identity being abused.'RELATED: Fiscal hawks send warning as 'big, beautiful bill' clears high-stakes vote: 'We have to do more to deliver' Photo by Kayla Bartkowski/Getty Images"The TAKE IT DOWN Act gives victims of revenge and deepfake pornography — many of whom are young girls — the ability to fight back," Cruz said in a statement. "Under our bipartisan bill, those who knowingly spread this vile material will face criminal charges, and Big Tech companies must remove exploitative content without delay.""As we worked on the TAKE IT DOWN Act, more victims courageously came forward to share their stories to help end this horrific online abuse," Cruz added. The bill criminalizes individuals and platforms that "knowingly publish" deepfakes or revenge porn and requires platforms to remove the materials within 48 hours of notification. Although the majority of states already have laws prohibiting the dissemination of this nonconsensual content, the Take It Down Act implements these regulations at the federal level. "This legislation is a powerful step forward in our efforts to ensure that every American, especially young people, can feel better protected from their image or identity being abused," Melania Trump said at a press conference before the bill signing. RELATED: Vance tells Glenn Beck Congress needs to 'get serious' about codifying DOGE cuts Photo by JIM WATSON/AFP via Getty Images"As a father of three young girls, I’m deeply concerned about the rise of deepfakes and nonconsensual intimate images in our country. It is sickening, it is harmful, and it must be stopped — and this law is a major step forward in protecting victims and restoring online accountability," Republican Rep. August Pfluger of Texas told Blaze News. "I was proud to co-lead this legislation in the House and commend Rep. Salazar, Senator Cruz, and first lady Melania Trump for their leadership in driving it across the finish line," Pfluger added. "I also thank President Trump for taking decisive action to cement this legislation into law."Like Blaze News? Tim Walz compares ICE to Nazi police and gets slapped with brutal backlash

Failed vice presidential candidate Tim Walz faced brutal criticism after accusing agents of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement of acting like Nazi police during a commencement speech. The Democratic Minnesota governor criticized President Donald Trump's immigration policies by referring to ICE as his "Gestapo" while speaking to students at the law school of the University of Minnesota. 'It is absolutely sickening to compare ICE law enforcement agents to the Gestapo.'"Some would say, 'Boy, this is getting way too political for a commencement address.' But I would argue, I wouldn’t be honoring my oath if I didn’t address this head on," Walz said Saturday."I’m gonna start with the flashing red light — Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the streets. They’re in unmarked vans, wearing masks, being shipped off to foreign torture dungeons. No chance to mount a defense. Not even a chance to kiss a loved one goodbye. Just grabbed up by masked agents, shoved into those vans and disappeared."Walz was likely referring to controversial deportations of accused gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a terrorist prison in El Salvador and of Turkish national Rumeysa Ozturk. The Department of Homeland Security responded in a scathing statement on its official social media account. "It is absolutely sickening to compare ICE law enforcement agents to the Gestapo. Attacks and demonization of ICE and our partners is wrong," read the statement. "ICE officers are now facing a 413% increase in assaults. Our message is clear: DO NOT come to this country illegally. If you do, we will arrest you, deport you and you will never return."RELATED: Feds arrest radical leftist for making threats against ICE officers and DHS Photo by Bob Riha, Jr./Getty Images Many online were bewildered and angered by the comparison to Nazi Germany, and they let Walz hear it."Gov Tim Waltz indulging in extreme Nazi talk criticizing roundups of undocumented immigrants," said Geraldo Rivera of NewsNation. "Inflammatory language helps nobody. Better to pursue injunctions preventing expulsions and demanding due process. Don’t hate on cops doing their jobs.""Dude can never resist an opportunity to show off his TDS," said Townhall columnist Dustin Grage. "Walz should either read a book on the Gestapo or shut his mouth and stop trivializing the Holocaust to score cheap political points," responded Eyal Yakoby."Attacking ICE agents with Nazi comparisons is reckless and wrong. Enforce the law? Debate policy. But don’t smear those doing their jobs," read another response. "I find that personally offensive as most of my family were murdered by the actual Nazis. Schmuck," said another detractor. The official White House rapid response account called Walz a "disgraced loser" over the comments. Trump's efforts to fulfill his promise of mass deportations have been stymied by court challenges filed by Democrats and other political opponents. Like Blaze News? Basement demons, severed goat heads & child assassination plots: Former FBI agent shares blood-chilling stories from days undercover

Retired undercover FBI agent Scott Payne spent much of his career infiltrating motorcycle gangs and white supremacist groups, including the Klan. There are no words to describe some of the horrors he’s witnessed over the years. “I'm sitting across the table from a pedophile who's hiring me to kill the kid that he molested,” he recalls from his undercover days. “There's a lot of people out there that just don't know how evil the world can be.” A rock solid faith in God, he tells Glenn Beck, is what got him through then and what helps him fight the ghosts of the past now. But he didn’t always have a relationship with God to strengthen him. In fact, there was a time in high school when dabbling in witchcraft led to a terrifying face-to-face encounter with a demon in his friend’s basement that scared him so deeply, he ran to Jesus and never looked back. But that wasn’t his last encounter with the demonic. From children pledging to shoot their own fathers and pagan rituals, Payne has seen things most of us couldn’t fathom. On this episode of “The Glenn Beck Podcast,” he shares some of his wildest stories. In 2019, Payne infiltrated “the Base” — a neo-Nazi, white supremacist group founded in 2018 that promotes accelerationist ideology, which aims to collapse society through violence and terrorism to create a white ethnostate. One event he attended, which he calls “Halloween hate camp,” involved “hand-to-hand combat training,” “firearms training,” “burning Bibles, burning American flags,” and a “ceremony of paganism” that included animal sacrifice. Some members of the group stole a goat from a nearby farm, planning to sacrifice it to Odin – the central figure in Norse mythology who is the god of both war and death. The sacrifice was meant to symbolize the kicking off of the “Wild Hunt” — a midwinter ghostly procession of spirits and supernatural beings led by Odin to destroy enemies and send mortals to the underworld. The Wild Hunt was seen as symbolic of the Base’s desire to “cleanse the world of anti-fascist non-whites.” “We're all in a circle on our knees around the goat,” says Payne. “He comes down full-fledged with the blade.” However, the blade was dull and failed to pierce the animal’s skin, so the executioner used a gun to finish the job. “You think you're done, and you're not. They go and slice the throat of the goat, fill up a big cup with its blood,” says Payne, who went by the moniker Pale Horse. The executioner then passed out acid to the group. “They chase it with the blood as part of the sacrifice,” Payne tells Glenn, noting that he was able to avoid the acid but still had to “[dip his] whole finger” in the cup and “[suck] all the blood off.” “Then, they cut the head of it off, threw its innards in the creek. Some members tried to cook it ... and then we carried the head around for, like, three more days,” he recalls. Glenn then asks the question we’re all thinking: How did you reconcile such a job given your faith? “I’m in work mode, and I know that somebody had to kick Satan out of heaven,” he says. To hear more of Payne’s wild stories, including Bibles that wouldn’t burn and the time he nearly was found out, watch the episode above.
