Singer Katy Perry is being investigated by authorities for allegedly filming a music video on Spanish islands without proper authorization. During a video shoot for the pop star’s new song “Lifetimes,” Perry can be seen dancing on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera and in nightclubs. Her video shoot was partially filmed on the uninhabited island of S’Espalmador, which contains sand dunes that the Spanish government says have “great ecological value,” according to the BBC. The outlet reported that the dunes are “protected.” Local government officials issued a press release saying the celebrity did not seek permission to film in that location. However, the crime would not be classified as “environmental infringement” because parties can be granted access to the area with prior authorization. Spanish officials are reportedly investigating possible damage to the dunes. President Joe Biden is preparing to speak at the upcoming Democratic National Convention — but according to a Wednesday report from POLITICO, he is still angry at the power players in his party, some of whom he blames for forcing him out of the 2024 presidential race. Biden, 81, announced his exit after a disastrous debate performance in late June spurred intense pressure — much of it from within the Democratic Party — for him to step aside and open the door for a younger candidate. Within days, Vice President Kamala Harris had been elevated to fill his position on the 2024 ticket — despite having never won a single primary vote on her own. According to his campaign, Trump will hold a press conference at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, at 4:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. Trump’s last press conference was last week, when he spent more than an hour talking with journalists at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, and he spoke with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on X Spaces for roughly two hours on Monday. Trump’s willingness to take on questions, whether they be from reporters or tech billionaires, makes for a stark contrast with Harris, who has for the most part avoided taking questions during the more than three weeks of her presidential campaign that began after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race following a fumbling debate performance. I want us to get an interview scheduled before the end of the month,” she said. Minimizing press exposure appears to be working for Harris as polls generally show her performing better against Trump than Biden was doing before he stepped aside. However, as pollster Brent Buchanan recently explained to The Daily Wire, the overall picture is likely to look different by mid-September — after the so-called “honeymoon” period — as voters get to see more of Harris talking without the help of a teleprompter during the upcoming ABC News debate.
