MRC founder and president Brent Bozell appeared Tuesday morning on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. to chat with host Stu Varney about the latest MRC study exposing the legacy media’s (ABC, CBS, NBC) insanely distorted coverage of the 2024 campaign.   Varney cued up Bozell to discuss one of the staggering findings: “Brent, your company says 84 percent of Harris’ media coverage has been positive, 89 percent of Trump’s coverage is negative. Clearly, the media is covering up for Harris.” Bozell buttressed the number with how the media are letting Harris get away with a “basement” strategy: “She hasn’t done a press conference in a month now….The answer that she’s given, I think, is for the ages. Where she promised to do an interview by the end of the month. As if somehow that’s sufficient. But what gets me on this is that the media have gone along with it.”     Bozell added that journalists “Are completely at ease with the fact that she is slapping them and saying, ‘I won’t do an interview with anybody.’ Why? They despise Donald Trump….They know that she’s not ready for primetime either. They know why she’s in the basement. They know why she doesn’t want to do interviews, because the American people will be horrified by her positions.”  Bozell then highlighted one of the stunning numbers from MRC’s latest poll: “Seventy-eight percent of Democrats have no idea that Kamala Harris’ position [that] it ought not to be a crime to cross the border illegally. In other words, her position is wide open borders, America should be the world’s parking lot. Seventy-eight percent of Democrats have no idea. What would happen, what would happen, Stuart, if Democrats simply knew that one fact? If the media simply reported that one fact? I can guarantee you that Donald Trump would be up by 20 points.” The following is the full segment as it was aired on the August 20 edition of Fox Business’s Varney & Company:  HOST STU VARNEY: Biden’s farewell speech was pushed back to 11:30 pm Eastern time. He kept talking until well after midnight. Media Research Center president Brent Bozell is with me now. How does this look, a sitting president, pushed out of primetime and having to talk after midnight? How’s that look? L. BRENT BOZELL: Well, if you wanted him inside of primetime, you got him inside of prime time. This was done deliberately. Look, Stuart, people who are wiser than me have pointed out that they knew exactly what was going to happen when Joe Biden debated Donald Trump, which is why they scheduled it early. They knew he was going to mess it up because of his age, and they knew he would get pushed out. It’s those same people who were scared to death of him speaking on primetime television last night. Because, unfortunately, you don’t know what he’s going to say or how he’s going to come across. So that’s why they put him after primetime. They can use any excuse they want to. He’s President of the United States. Seventy-eight percent of Democrats have no idea that Kamala Harris’ position on that is it ought not to be a crime to cross the border illegally. Conservative Twitter lit up Tuesday when Gov. Andy Beshear (D-Ky.) popped off on Morning Joe that J.D. Vance has no empathy for women getting abortions after being raped, and we should ”make him go through this.” Vance tweeted over the video that Beshear was a “disgusting person.” Beshear was lecturing on MSNBC that abortion policy is “just so extreme” in states like his, without exceptions for rape, incest, and “non-viable pregnancies.” Mika Brzezinski shot back: “Then on the right, governor, you have -- you have Republican candidates and Republicans talking about babies being aborted at nine months. Can you even make sense of their argument?” He replied: “Half of it is not even true.  It's just fear tactics. And it's just lying to people.” BESHEAR:  I mean, think about what some people have had to go through because of these laws. I mean, J.D. Vance calls pregnancy resulting from rape inconvenient. Like inconvenient is traffic. I mean it is -- make him go through this. I mean -- someone being violated, someone being harmed and then telling them that they don't have options after that. That fails any test of decency, of humanity. But here's the thing. It also shows they don't have any empathy at all. A president and vice president has to have empathy. You have to be able to put yourself in a position you've never been in, to try to understand somebody else. It’s false that Democrats don’t support abortion at any time? The 2020 platform was clear they opposed all restrictions. “Democrats oppose and will fight to overturn federal and state laws that create barriers to reproductive health and rights.” The new 2024 platform is more dodgy: “President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Democrats are committed to restoring the reproductive rights Trump ripped away. With a Democratic Congress, we will pass national legislation to make Roe the law of the land again.” But what does that mean? Journalists should absorb the text of the "Women's Health Protection Act" of 2021:  It is the purpose of this Act— (1) to permit health care providers to provide abortion services without limitations or requirements that single out the provision of abortion services A few hours later, Beshear appeared on MSNBC's  Andrea Mitchell Reports to clarify that he didn't mean what he said, or doubled down on it, saying Vance was "deflecting."  MITCHELL So what he's saying is that you were somehow suggesting -- he said, "What the hell is this?" Why is Andy Beshear -- he tweeted this out. "Wishing that a member of my family would get raped. A disgusting person." How do you respond to that? Is that what you were talking about? BESHEAR: Of course. It's ridiculous. But it's also deflection. J.D. Vance knows that he and Donald Trump are so wrong on this issue. And so he's trying to make himself the victim. Listen, Hadley Duvall was a victim. The women that were on the stage last night. The couple that had to go through a non-viable pregnancy are victims. As a man J.D. Vance will never have to face any of this personally. But it's sad that he lacks the empathy to be able to put himself in a different position and to understand why having exceptions, having reproductive freedom is so important in the first place. Obviously, I'd never wish harm on anyone. It just -- again, deflection. Trying to make himself and Donald Trump the victims.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s (I) running mate, Nicole Shanahan, recently stated that their 2024 presidential campaign is weighing two options, one of which includes “join[ing] forces” with former president and Republican nominee Donald Trump.During an interview on the “Impact Theory” podcast with Tom Bilyeu that was published Tuesday, Shanahan said the campaign is also considering remaining in the race to earn more than 5% of the popular vote to “establish ourselves” as a third-party alternative.Shanahan stated, “There’s two options that we’re looking at and one is staying in, forming that new party, but we run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency because we draw votes from Trump or we draw somehow more votes from Trump.”“Or, we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump,” she continued. “We walk away from that, and we explain to our base why we’re making this decision.”“Not easy. Not an easy decision,” Shanahan added.Earlier in the interview, Shanahan stated that she believes Trump’s “Achilles heel” in his first presidential term was “Big Pharma.”“I don’t think he understood that it would cripple his entire reputation and legacy as much as it did,” she said. However, Shanahan added that what she has heard from the Trump campaign recently has been “very positive.”Bilyeu then pressed Shanahan about concerns that RFK Jr. is just a “spoiler candidate” for Trump.“We did not start this campaign — I did not put in tens of millions of dollars to be a spoiler candidate. I put in tens of million of dollars to win, to fix this country, to do the right thing,” Shanahan responded.She accused a Democratic National Committee PAC of targeting the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket and “turn[ing] us into a spoiler.”“We don’t want to be a spoiler. We wanted to win. We wanted a fair shot. The DNC made that impossible for us,” Shanahan responded. “They have banned us, shadow banned us, kept us off stages, manipulated polls, used lawfare against us, sued us in every possible state. They even planted insiders into our campaign to disrupt it and to create actual legal issues for us.”“The extent by which the sabotage they’ve unleashed upon us, it’s mind-blowing. I mean, we’re still learning new ways that they have sabotaged us,” she added. “I really wanted a fair shot at this election. And I believed in the America that I, [as] a little girl, pledged allegiance to and that is not where we are today. And it’s not because of the Republican Party taking us out. It is exclusively because of the Democratic Party taking us out, and I am so disappointed I ever helped them.”Kennedy released a statement following the podcast episode’s release, saying, “As always, I am willing to talk with leaders of any political party to further the goals I have served for 40 years in my career and in this campaign.”“These are: reversing the chronic disease epidemic, ending the war machine, cleaning corporate influence out of government and toxic pollution out of the environment, protecting freedom of speech, and ending politicization of enforcement agencies,” Kennedy added.During the interview, Bilyeu also asked Shanahan, a California attorney, whether she would consider running for governor of California if they ended the presidential campaign. “I don’t know yet,” she responded. “I think I’d be happy to support somebody great to run for California governor so that we can nip this dynastic lineage in the butt.”“I would consider running as well,” Shanahan continued. “I want to be involved in California.”“I think that we could model California brilliantly as the shining example of how to bail out the catastrophic state the nation is in right now. We just model California for the rest of the federal government,” she noted.Lis Smith, a spokesperson for the Democratic Party, released a statement addressing Shanahan’s recent interview.“Nicole Shanahan isn’t even pretending to be a serious VP candidate anymore,” Smith stated, according to CNBC. “In one interview alone, she floated RFK Jr. for HHS [Health and Human Services Department] Secretary in a Trump administration, discussed her interest in running for governor of California in 2026, admitted that the Kennedy-Shanahan campaign has no path to victory, and raised the possibility of joining forces with Trump to defeat Vice President Harris.”“From the beginning of this race, we’ve said that RFK Jr. is nothing more than a spoiler for Donald Trump, and we’re glad that his running mate is finally admitting it,” Smith stated. As Kamala Harris and the Democratic National Convention descend on Chicago, so have Democratic voters — but a good portion of them are showing up to protest the DNC instead of support it. Investigative journalist for Blaze News Julio Rosas is on the ground at the DNC and has footage of pro-Palestinian protesters chanting, “DNC go home, or we’re going to bring the war home,” as they wave their Palestinian flags. “Some might say those people don’t deserve to live here. I’ll buy a one-way ticket for them to just go over to Gaza,” Sara Gonzales of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered” comments. “It’s beautiful this time of year,” Stu Burguiere adds sarcastically. “It’s basically a resort town, you know.” Another video from the protests shows what appears to be antifa members waving Palestinian flags, trans flags, and rainbow flags — while chanting and rhyming “anti-gay” with “Christian fascists go away.” “I love the fact that they’ve got a Palestinian flag next to a Pride flag. It’s so perfect,” Matthew Marsden comments. Though the protesters were yelling about “Christian fascists,” they were in Chicago to protest the DNC. “I like that they can’t make up their minds, like, who is in their party?” Gonzales laughs. “ “This is the problem,” Marsden says. “The DNC have created this, right? They kind of fractured all these groups, and while they had one bad person to look at, which was obviously the right, anything on the right was bad.” “Be careful what you wish for, because you move left, left, left, left, left, and now they know they cannot win being so extreme, so they start pulling back to the right. Well, all the people that they’ve told are victims for years and years and years, and they’re like hang on a second, you guys are the enemy,” he adds.
