(@ScooterCasterNY) June 22, 2024 Bowman’s challenger entered the primary in part due to Bowman’s opposition to Israel and controversial statements he’s made about Israel’s war in Gaza. The New York congressman has been critical of Israel, even after the Hamas terrorist attack on Oct. 7. He has accused Israel of committing a genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. At a political rally last November, Bowman questioned whether Hamas terrorists actually raped women or killed babies. “There was propaganda used in the beginning of the siege,” Bowman said Nov. 17 at a pro-Palestinian rally, according to a TikTok video reported on by Politico. “There’s still no evidence of beheaded babies or raped women. But they still keep using that lie [for] propaganda.” After initially refusing to address those comments, Bowman reversed himself and condemned the rapes committed by Hamas. In the weeks and days just before the primary vote, Bowman began to change his stance on the Israel-Palestine issue and apologized for the remarks he made about Hamas not committing rape. “Immediately, when the U.N. provided additional evidence, I voted to condemn the sexual violence,” Bowman said a week before the election, according to the Hill. “I apologize for my comments, and now, we’re continuing to do the work to fight sexual violence and domestic violence in all its forms.” Bowman has had other contentious moments and scandals during his time in office. He was censured by Congress following an incident in which he pulled a fire alarm in a congressional office building just before a House vote in late September. The fire alarm nearly delayed a vote on a continuing resolution that, if not passed, would have shut down part of the government. Bowman said he pulled the alarm by mistake and that he thought the lever was a method to open the door and exit the building. According to district law, pulling a fire alarm falsely and intentionally is punishable by a fine or up to six months in jail. He was told to pay a $1,000 fine and apologize to the Capitol Police. In January, the Daily Beast unearthed blog posts from when Bowman was a New York high school principal who promoted 9/11 conspiracy theories. The blog posts prompted J Street, a left-wing Jewish advocacy organization, to pull its support. “When the rhetoric, the framing, and the approach go too far, that’s where we are going to hold our line,” J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami said in an interview with the Forward. “And that’s when we felt that Bowman crossed the line here.” Bowman said he regretted writing the posts. AOC Ditched a Scheduled Appearance with Jamaal Bowman This Afternoon

The Media Research Center-led Free Speech Alliance is urging a key congressional committee to once and for all defund the Biden regime's censorship schemes. In a letter to House Appropriations Committee Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) Tuesday, the Free Speech Alliance called on the committee to zero out funding for Biden-led agencies running anti-American, anti-free speech operations. The Free Speech Alliance specifically called out the White House and the U.S. departments of Commerce, Defense, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Justice, State and Treasury, as well as the National Science Foundation. “The Biden administration has been brazen in its efforts to censor political opposition under the guise of mis-, mal-, and disinformation,” read the letter, signed by 18 prominent members of the Alliance. “We applaud you for making the protection of free speech rights a top priority by defunding the Biden censorship regime.” Coalition members commended the House Appropriations Committee for having already zeroed in on Biden’s assault on free speech. The pro-free speech groups added, “Because this censorship is ubiquitous, we are pleased that you have incorporated blanket language to prohibit any form of censorship of US citizens. We would encourage your committee to adopt this blanket language across all bills and to continue fighting against the left’s effort to silence free speech rights.” Read the full letter here.  

A woman may face hate charges for an alleged attack on a Palestinian-American family at the pool of an apartment complex, according to Texas police. Witnesses said that the family was enjoying the pool at the complex on May 19 when 42-year-old Elizabeth Wolf confronted them and demanded to know where they were from. 'Tell her I will kill her, and I will kill her whole family.' The Euless Police Department said officers responded to a report of a disturbance between two women, and when they arrived, a witness told them, "A woman who was very intoxicated had tried to drown a child and argued with the child’s mother."The mother of the child told police that Wolf had accused them of not being American and also questioned whether the children were actually hers. A spokesperson of the Texas chapter of the Council on Islamic American Relations called for the incident to be prosecuted as a hate crime in a release to the media on Saturday. "The alleged attacker reportedly approached the mother with racist interrogations then jumped into the swimming pool and grabbed the children to the deep end of the pool to allegedly drown them," the council said.They claimed that the woman was able to jump into the pool and that her son was able to escape, but the daughter's head was forced underwater. "The alleged attacker snatched off the mother’s head scarf and used it to beat the mother as well as kicking her to keep her away while forcing her daughter’s head underwater," CAIR added. 'I don’t know where to go to feel safe with my kids.' The mother of the child spoke to CAIR about the incident and offered additional details of her version of the story. She said that a bystander she described as an African-American man rushed in to help the woman's daughter. Wolf allegedly yelled, "Tell her I will kill her, and I will kill her whole family," as she was being handcuffed by police. "We are American citizens, originally from Palestine, and I don’t know where to go to feel safe with my kids," said the mother in a statement released by CAIR. "My country is facing a war, and we are facing that hate here. My daughter is traumatized," she continued, "whenever I open the apartment door, she runs away and hides, telling me she is afraid the lady will come and immerse her head in the water again. Also, my husband’s employment is jeopardized, due to having to leave work to accompany me and our four kids whenever we have appointments and errands to run."Wolf was charged for attempted murder and injury to a child. She posted $25,000 as bond for the attempted murder charge and $15,000 for the child injury charge. Police did not indicate whether the woman lived at the apartment complex. The White House released a statement about the alleged incident. "I am deeply disturbed by the reports of an attempted drowning of a 3-year-old Palestinian-American at a neighborhood pool," read the statement attributed to Biden. "No child should ever be subjected to a violent attack, and my heart goes out to the family." The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office said it was considering hate crime charges against the woman. Euless is a suburb in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with about 51,000 residents.
