Trump Appeals To SCOTUS To Pause Sentencing In Hush Money Case

President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court to pause his sentencing in the New York hush money case. Trump’s sentencing, scheduled for Friday morning, violates the president-elect’s presidential immunity as outlined in a Supreme Court decision in July, according to Trump’s legal team. Allowing the sentencing to move forward would be a “grave injustice and harm to the institution of the Presidency and the operations of the federal government,” Trump’s lawyers wrote. “President Trump’s legal team filed an emergency petition with the United States Supreme Court, asking the Court to correct the unjust actions by New York courts and stop the unlawful sentencing in the Manhattan D.A.’s Witch Hunt,” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said, referring to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. “The Supreme Court’s historic decision on Immunity, the Constitution, and established legal precedent mandate that this meritless hoax be immediately dismissed.” The legal filing states that the hush money case and Trump’s conviction on 34 felony counts is on poor legal footing. Part of the evidence used at trial to secure the conviction was based on official acts of the president and should have been shielded from the court. “These included, without limitation, statements issued through his official Presidential Twitter account to the American people in 2018, statements to the press in official Presidential media appearances, documentary evidence reflecting official Presidential actions, and testimony of former White House employees regarding official actions taken by President Trump during his first term as President,” the filing states. JOIN THE MOVEMENT IN ’25 WITH 25% OFF DAILYWIRE+ ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS WITH CODE DW25 The legal team also argued that legal immunity for sitting presidents covers the transition period between the election and when a president assumes office. “[T]he doctrine of sitting-President immunity shields [Trump] from criminal process during the brief but crucial period of Presidential transition, while he engages in the extraordinarily demanding task of preparing to assume the Executive power of the United States,” the filing says.d Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor ordered Bragg’s office to respond to the Trump team’s filing by 10 a.m. Thursday. The Trump team made an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court a day after a New York appeals court rejected a similar petition. In a legal filing to the appeals court, Bragg’s office argued that Trump as president-elect “has no viable claim of presidential immunity from ordinary criminal process.” Prosecutors said that Trump “is not yet engaged in any official presidential functions that would be disrupted by the sentencing.”

Five Guys Employee Goes Viral For Turning Down OnlyFans Creator: ‘I’m A Christian Man’

An OnlyFans content creator was recorded propositioning a fast food employee for sex, but she was turned down after the worker told her he was “a Christian man.” Bonnie Blue, 25, is a controversial OnlyFans creator who targets 18 and 19-year-olds to have sex with her.  Viewers had mixed reactions when Blue shared the video on her TikTok account. In the clip, the content creator enters a Five Guys branch and asks an employee where she can find “five guys” and inquires whether he’s “on the menu.” “I can’t see it on the menu, but where are the five guys from?” she asks. The worker replies, “The… huh?”  She clarifies her statement, saying, “I didn’t know if it was like a special room, or you can take me out back?” The worker again responds with confusion and says, “Uh, I don’t know what’s happening.” “What about after your shift? I mean, I’d want to give you, you know, a good rating,” she says.  The worker responds, “I’m a Christian man, and I’m waiting until marriage.”  Bonnie Blue says, “I’m asking what’s on your menu, that’s all.” He responds, “Genuinely, I feel like I’m dreaming right now. I can hand you the menu if you want.” The OF star doesn’t give up, saying, “Are you on it?” to which he replies, “No, I’m not.”  She replies, “Oh, that’s a shame.” The employee later shared the exchange on his X account, writing, “Bonnie Blue recording me at work was not on my bingo card for this year, but here we are, I guess.” Bonnie blue recording me at work was not on my bingo card for this year but here we are I guess pic.twitter.com/klBsJk0wyb — •ola• (@harry_1514) January 6, 2025 The comments were filled with support and praise for the Five Guys worker refusing her overtures. Not many are like that,” one person wrote. “My wife and I both waited for marriage too and it was definitely a lot better than being used products for others.” “this is so predatory – if this was a man, everyone would be outraged,” another commenter said. “not acceptable to do to someone at their job.” “Well done brother. God has better plans for you, have faith,” another said. In an interview with Metro last November, Blue said: “People are calling me a predator anyway. So it makes no difference if I’m a guy or a female, because my hate has been through the roof in terms of death threats and non-stop abuse.” “If I was forcing them off the street, dragging them up, then yeah, call me a predator, but it’s not the case,” she added, claiming that 18-year-olds “choose to contact her.”

Major Retailers Confirm They Are Not Selling Abortion Drug Despite Democrat Pressure

Two major retailers confirmed this week that they do not sell a popular abortion pill, despite pressure from Democratic officials to do so.  Both Kroger and Sam’s Club confirmed to The Daily Wire that they do not offer mifepristone for sale after screenshots posted online last month appeared to show the life-ending drug available for purchase. Mifepristone is now used in over half of all abortions and has been used across the country to bypass pro-life protections in Republican-led states.  The controversy emerged last month after pro-life organization Live Action reported that both Kroger and Sam’s Club had mifepristone, which is estimated to be used in over half of abortions, advertised on their websites.  An archived page from December 18 on Kroger’s website shows mifepristone listed for sale.  The company later told Live Action and The Washington Stand that the listing was a mistake. The retailer confirmed to The Daily Wire that it had never sold mifepristone, and that it was reviewing the FDA’s guidelines for the drug. “Kroger Family of Pharmacies are reviewing the FDA’s updated Mifepristone Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy drug safety program,” a company spokesman said. “We will continue to align our dispensing practices with applicable federal and state laws.”  Another screenshot from Live Action showed that Sam’s Club appeared to also have mifepristone for sale on its website. The company, a division of Walmart, also said the posting was made in error.  “Regarding reports about details on our website, we use a third-party vendor to aggregate medication pricing, and their tool provided incorrect information,” a company spokesman told The Daily Wire.  The acknowledgment comes after a group of conservative and Christian shareholders organized by the Alliance Defending Freedom urged Kroger, Walmart, Costco, and other retailers not to sell the life-ending drug. This campaign came after New York City Comptroller Brad Lander said that retailers should make the abortion drug available.  JOIN THE MOVEMENT IN ’25 WITH 25% OFF DAILYWIRE+ ANNUAL MEMBERSHIPS WITH CODE DW25 Jeremy Tedesco, the senior vice president of corporate engagement for Alliance Defending Freedom, celebrated the news, saying that it was a “great outcome” and that it could be a “really significant” change in how corporations deal with politically-charged issues.  He told The Daily Wire that abortion activists were “trying to co-opt the companies to advance their abortion agenda, regardless of what the law says. They want these companies to make abortion pills as widely available as possible.” Tedesco added that until recently ”only the Left shows up for these battles with the corporations” but now conservatives’ push to directly engage with companies was making a difference.  He said that conservatives should want to neutralize companies on the issue of abortion, and that the companies should just focus on providing quality products.  “The Left’s primary goal in all of this is to make the political process irrelevant by regulating all through what corporations do and how they behave,” he said.  Alliance Defending Freedom has yet to receive any response from the companies it wrote to.
