Caitlin Clark’s Alleged Stalker Will Remain Behind Bars After Chaotic Hearing

WNBA star Caitlin Clark’s alleged stalker will remain behind bars following his chaotic hearing where he seemingly pleaded guilty following his arrest over the weekend. In an Indianapolis courtroom on Tuesday, 55-year-old Texas Michael Lewis had several outbursts in which he first declared he was “guilty as charged” before the judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf, NBC News reported. He yelled “Throw me the booky!” and “I’m free! I guess you got the wrong guy!” while also claiming that his name didn’t include a “Jr.” in court records, the outlet noted. During the hearing, the Marion County Superior Court Judge Angela Davis tried to read the charges against him saying he “terrorized, frightened, or threatened” Clark and caused a “reasonable fear of sexual battery.”  Lewis replied, “Can I say something?” before Davis replied, “Not yet.” Each time the Texas man would interrupt, the deputies in the court tried to get him to stop and straighten up. Caitlin Clark’s Alleged Stalker Appears In Court, Says ‘Guilty As Charged!’ | Click to read more ? https://t.co/JyDblVW0Vg — TMZ (@TMZ) January 14, 2025 When asked if the man was dealing with mental health issues, Lewis told the court, “I need my medicines.” When the judge inquired if he needed an attorney, the alleged stalker said he couldn’t afford one and that he needed his medication. He was also asked if he lived in Texas, and he replied, “Sort of, I live in my vehicle.”  The Texas man signed court orders agreeing to stay away from Clark’s home and have no contact with the Indiana Fever star. Judge Davis told him, “If you violate stay away or no contact orders, the court will revoke your bond.” The judge ordered that Lewis be held in lieu of a $50,000 bond. Lewis then replied, “I don’t want bond, bail, whatever. I’m here. I’m staying.” He was charged with one count of stalking, accused of engaging in a “course of conduct involving repeated or continuing harassment of Caitlin Clark that would cause a reasonable person to feel terrorized,” according to court documents from Marion County prosecutors. On Sunday, Lewis was arrested for felony stalking, accused of making several disturbing, sexually explicit messages and threats online against Clark, before traveling to Indianapolis where he was taken into custody, TMZ noted. Trump Praises DeSantis For Leading On His Agenda, Urges Other Governors To Follow

President-elect Donald Trump praised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) on Tuesday for calling an emergency special session so Florida could getting funding lined up so the state is ready to implement Trump’s agenda shortly after he takes office. DeSantis noted in a statement announcing the special session that Trump was elected “with a mandate to stop illegal immigration and deport illegal aliens already in our country.” “State and local officials in Florida will actively facilitate the Trump Administration’s policies against illegal immigration, and to do that we need to immediately set aside and approve the necessary funding and resources now,” DeSantis said. “As part of the special session I called for January 27, the week after President Trump is sworn in, I am calling on the legislature to appropriate funding for detention, relocation, transportation infrastructure, local law enforcement support, and everything else needed for Florida to carry out this mission.” Trump responded to the announcement: “Thank you Ron, hopefully other Governors will follow!” President-elect Trump was elected with a mandate to stop illegal immigration and deport illegal aliens already in our country. Longtime Trump immigration adviser Stephen Miller reportedly told senators on Wednesday night that they plan to use executive power toward fixing the border on the very first day. It also includes using part of the Immigration and Nationality Act that allows local law enforcement and state law enforcement to help assist ICE, according to Axios. He’s expected to begin the process of mass deportations, suspend refugee admissions, end the visa-free parole process for people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela (which allowed 530,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans to enter the United States as of August), and to roll back a memo from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas directing ICE officers to learn “the totality of the facts and circumstances” about illegal immigrant’s criminal convictions before deciding to deport them. Philadelphia Eagles’ AJ Brown Is Going Viral For A Surprising Sideline Practice

The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers on January 12th, 22-10. Of course, fans were happy to see a W for the Eagles. But they also keyed in on something more unusual happening on the sidelines. It wasn’t a cheer, funny dance, or even a screaming coach. No, fans noticed one of their favorite players doing something unexpected. Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown thought it would be a good time to read a book, and his decision went viral. Eagle-eyed Eagles fans determined AJ was reading Inner Excellence by Jim Murphy and the player isn’t ashamed. Packers are so ass AJ Brown started reading a book mid game pic.twitter.com/sk1VCl0edm— NFL Memes (@NFLHateMemes) January 13, 2025 AJ Brown Talked About The Viral Moment After The Game According to ESPN, AJ explained, “I wasn’t frustrated at all. I figured that’s what y’all probably thought. Why do you always think I be frustrated? Dang. I like to read.” He then went to X and posted pictures of the book with highlighted passages. He captioned his post, “This game is 90% mental and 10% physical for me. I bring it to every game and I read it between each drive. I use it to refocus and lock in despite what may transpire in the game good or bad. People tend to create controversy when they don’t know the truth.” Fans approved of AJ Brown as a viral book-reading player. One wrote, “If the mind is right the game will be as well. Do what you need to do to maintain your level of focus each game. Much love.” “This was awesome! Some players put on their headsets and do music. You chose a book, and I respect that. Keep doing you. Good luck in the playoffs,” someone agreed. AJ Brown’s viral moment sold a few books. This person ordered one, “Just ordered, huge game incoming for you next week.” And so did plenty more. Like this person, “Ordered my copy last night You don’t have to explain anything AJ we got you.” This story’s featured image is by Timothy Nwachukwu/Getty Images. The Mayor Of Pasadena Recalls Sweet Way Prince Harry Helped Elderly Man Affected By California Fires

Earlier this week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly opened their home in Montecito, California, to friends displaced by the fires in California. At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also shared their desire to help as many people as they can in the area trying to rebuild their lives. True to their word, Harry and Meghan showed up at the Pasadena Convention Center on January 10 to help. Albeit incognito so as not to attract too much attention to themselves and get to work. During their time there, Prince Harry made an impression on Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, People reported. Once again, the prince’s kindness shone through. Prince Harry Fulfilled A Special Request From An Elderly Victim Of The California Fires While serving food to displaced residents, Harry showed great kindness to a bedridden man. Mayor Gordo told the Pasadena Star-News, that he watched Harry in action. The prince offered him some food, but the man had a particular craving. “The gentleman said, ‘What I’d really like is a donut,'” the mayor explained, and Harry replied,” ‘There’s no doughnut here, but I will find one.’ “ Harry, who had never identified himself with the man, went in search of the sweet treat. The mayor said, “He takes off, and 10 minutes later, he returns with a doughnut. The gentleman looks up and says, ‘I guess I need my carbs and my sugar.’ That gentleman tonight is at the convention center and does not know it was Prince Harry who brought him that doughnut,” Mayor Gordo said. The man was reportedly so impressed by Prince Harry’s dedication to him and the California fires that he made a promise, “If you ever run for anything, I’ll vote for you,” Mayor Gordo said. Click to Skip Ahead Healthy Amount of Water a Cat Needs to Drink How to Make Sure Your Cat Is Drinking Water The Importance of Proper Hydration Signs Your Cat is Not Drinking Enough Water Ensuring your cat is hydrated is incredibly important for its overall well-being. Cats need to intake around 1–2 milliliters of water per kilogram of weight every hour, which for a 10-pound cat means an average of one cup of water daily. Read more in the article below to learn how to monitor your cat’s water drinking habits, encourage them, and notice any signs of insufficient water intake in cats. How Much Water Should a Cat Drink? When thinking about the ideal amount of water your cat should drink, an easy general rule of thumb is that cats should drink around half a cup of water per 5 pounds of body weight, every day.1 This will vary depending on your cat’s activity levels, and whether they eat dry or wet food. Image Credit: AnnaStills, Shutterstock How to Make Sure Your Cat Is Drinking Water Most cat parents know what it’s like to worry about their cat’s drinking habits, and there are ways you can increase the amount of water they drink during the day. Placing several water bowls around the house is a great way to promote better hydration in your cat. You should always ensure the water is fresh, cool, and free of dust or hair particles. The best areas to place the water bowls are quiet corners around the house, where your cat will feel safest. Remember that cats adore living by a routine, so once they learn the places of the water bowls, try not to change them and move them around. You can also add a cat water fountain in your home because moving water is more likely to attract your cat’s attention.2 The Importance of Proper Hydration Water is vital for our pets as much as it is for us. Water affects your cat’s whole body, ensuring healthy organ function, digestion, circulation, and proper nutrient transportation. Drinking enough water daily also ensures your cat’s kidneys run properly, flushing out toxins from the body. Poor hydration carries many health issues with it, including urinary issues, low blood pressure, and even an increased risk for constipation. Our Favorite Cat Water Fountain Making sure your cat drinks enough water can require a little creativity and the right fountain choice! A nicely made product like Hepper's Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain will encourage your cat to stay hydrated by providing fresh, flowing water. We particularly like this model because it's easy to clean and offers excellent triple filtration, multiple flow modes, and a large capacity. Signs Your Cat is Not Drinking Enough Water It can be challenging to notice whether your cat drinks enough water daily. Cats tend to find other sources of water not only in your house but in the garden and the neighborhood. This can trick pet parents into believing their cat is not staying hydrated enough and become a serious cause of worry. The best way to know that your cat is not staying hydrated is to look for any minor signs of dehydration in cats. Your cat’s appearance can tell you a lot about its hydration levels. Sunken eyes and dry pale gums can mean your cat is not drinking enough water, and another sign to look out for is “skin tenting.” The best way to check this is to take the skin on the back of your cat’s neck, just between the shoulder blades, pull it gently upward, and let go. The skin should return quickly in normal conditions, but if your cat is dehydrated, the skin will likely remain tented. Other signs of dehydration include: Lethargy and depression Elevated heart rate Dry mucous membranes Dry or firm stools Final Thoughts Hydration is a significant factor in any living creature’s life. Just like humans, our pets need to stay hydrated, too, to function normally and stay healthy. Because proper hydration affects your cat’s entire life, including their physical and mental well-being, you may worry a lot about it. While we can’t know if our cats are staying hydrated enough during the day, there are ways we can promote their water-drinking habits. We can also look out for minor signs of dehydration, such as loss of skin elasticity and dry gums and mouth. Make sure to provide your cat with enough water and ensure proper hydration before any of the more severe dehydration signs appear. See Also:  How Much Water Does a Cat Need per Day? Click to Skip Ahead How Often Should You Clean Your Cat’s Bowls? How Much Water Should Your Cat Drink? What Could Happen if You Don’t Clean the Bowl? How Often Should You Clean a Cat Water Fountain? We all know that cats need fresh water daily, but if you have a larger bowl that they don’t empty each day, how often do you need to change it out? The truth is that you need to give your cat fresh water every day, and if they don’t drink it all, you need to dump it out, clean the bowl, and then give them fresh water again. But why do you need to swap out the water every day, and what can happen if you don’t? How Often Should You Clean Your Cat’s Water and Food Bowls? While you might not think much about your cat’s food and water bowls, that doesn’t keep bacteria from forming on them. Just like you don’t want to use a dirty bowl or cup for your meals, you shouldn’t expect your cat to use one either. Because of this, you should clean their food and water bowls every single day. It might seem a little excessive, but there’s a reason you wash your dishes after each use, and your cat deserves the same thing! Image Credit: PicksArt, Shutterstock How Much Water Should Your Cat Drink? The amount of water a cat drinks out of a traditional water bowl depends on the size of your cat and the type of cat food you feed them. If you feed your cat wet cat food, it contains 70 to 80% moisture, meaning it can give your cat a lot of the fluids that they need. Overall, your cat needs about 4 ounces for every 5 pounds of body weight, meaning a 10-pound cat needs 8 ounces of water each day. But since your cat can get their water from their food or their water bowl, sometimes it can be hard to measure just how much water they’re getting. Cats can be very particular about many things, including the water they drink. The right water fountain can provide your cat with clean, fresh water. Hepper Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain Premium 304-Grade Stainless Steel - This metal cat water fountain is hygienic, with superior...Serene & Healthy Cat Drinking Fountain Experience - With whisper-quiet pumping & an advanced...Say Goodbye to Dehydration - Provide your cat with a constant source of flowing water with this... Check Price on Amazon We recommend Hepper's Stainless Steel Cat Water Fountain, an easy-to-clean model with three different flow modes, a large capacity, and effective triple filtration. This minimalist fountain runs quietly and will fit right into your home. At Catster, we’ve admired Hepper for many years and decided to take a controlling ownership interest so that we could benefit from the outstanding designs of this cool cat company! What Could Happen if You Don’t Change/Clean the Bowl Enough? You need to take the time to clean your cat’s water bowl daily, and the reason for this all comes down to the inevitable contamination with food particles, dust and bacteria. If you’re not cleaning the bowl enough, your cat may become unwell from drinking water contaminated with bacteria. Cats are also very fussy about the water they drink. If the water smells or tastes funky because it is not clean and fresh, they may drink less or not drink it at all. Not drinking enough water can also cause problems, for example putting cats at an increased risk of urinary tract issues. How Often Should You Clean a Cat Water Fountain? While you need to clean a traditional cat water bowl each day, if you have a fancier cat water fountain-style bowl, you likely don’t need to clean it quite as often as the water is moving and they generally contain filters. However, you still need to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and on average clean it and replace the water at least once a week, but often every 3 to 4 days, even if the water in the bowl lasts longer than that. These fountain-style bowls don’t collect bacteria as quickly as traditional bowls, but they don’t stay clean forever. When cleaning the bowl, dump out any water that’s still in the bowl and give them fresh water to prevent bacterial buildup. Be sure to follow guidance on how often to change and replace filters as well, which is usually every 4 weeks. Conclusion Now that you know a little more about how often you should change your cat’s water bowl and why it’s so important, all that’s left is for you to take the time to clean it. It can be a pain to adjust to at first if you don’t normally clean them that often, but once you get into a rhythm, it only takes a few minutes each day, and it goes a long way in keeping your cat healthy and safe!
