While walking her dog, Margaret Zeitouny found an odd design made from pinecones in Cedarwood Park near her Massachusetts home. The pinecone art reminded Margaret of a mandala because of the concentric circles of pinecones. The placement of each row alternates the cones with bottom-to-bottom and top-to-top. In an interview with WBZ-TV CBS News, she described a mandala, “It’s a circle pattern with a repetitive design.” Unsure if the artist would continue working on the piece, she told the interviewer, “I don’t know if the artist is coming up and checking on it, but I am. I want to take a picture a day until it’s not there anymore.” She thinks the artist might be a Brandeis University student.
