Dana White condemns Hitler rant from UFC fighter Bryce Mitchell but stands firm on free-speech beliefs

UFC President Dana White strongly condemned fighter Bryce Mitchell's remarks about Adolf Hitler on his podcast.Mitchell was talking about X owner Elon Musk being accused of making a Roman salute during a political rally but then transitioned into how he thought Hitler was likely a "good guy" before he got into politics."I honestly think that Hitler was a good guy based upon my own research. Not my 'public education indoctrination.' I really do think before Hitler got on meth he was a guy to go fishing with," Mitchell told his co-host.On his podcast "ArkanSanity," Mitchell then stated the Nazis were attempting to prevent gender ideologies from permeating throughout their culture."[He] fought for his country, he wanted to purify it by kicking the greedy Jews out that were destroying his country and turning them all into gays. They were gaying out the kids, they were queering out the women, they were queering out the dudes."Mitchell said Hitler's use of methamphetamines and attempted invasion of Russia were his true condemnable moments. He also stated he didn't think Hitler was "the best dude ever" or was "the most trustworthy dude.""He ain't perfect; I'm not a Nazi, I'm not a Nazi, I don't love Nazis, I don't want Nazis to win the war, I'm just saying [Germans] were in a bad spot," Mitchell added.'... literally one of the dumbest human beings.'Unsurprisingly, UFC president Dana White was not pleased to hear about Mitchell's remarks.During a press conference for Power Slap, White condemned Mitchell's position, saying he and the UFC were "disgusted.""That's the problem with the internet and social media. You provide a platform for a lot of dumb, ignorant people," White said. The fight promoter was soon asked by a reporter if Mitchell would be punished by the UFC, but White stood firm on his free-speech principles."That's what everybody wants to hear about: punishments. Free speech. I don't have to love it. You don't have to love it. You know?"However, White's free-speech stance didn't get in the way of what was a strong, and rather hilarious, string of condemnations against Mitchell."I mean, what do you want me to say about it? You know how where I am with free speech. We're disgusted by it. I think he's probably one of the dumbest ... literally one of the dumbest human beings," White went on.The UFC president then recalled Mitchell's 2024 social media post about accidentally puncturing his scrotum with a power drill. — (@) "I could probably go on for 10 minutes talking about how dumb Bryce Mitchell is. But guess what: Bryce Mitchell has a podcast," White joked. He added, "Dumb people — people who are really stupid and really ignorant — can have a voice. We don't have to agree with it. We don't have to like it. I'm giving you mine and the UFC's position on what he had to say."White referred to UFC middleweight Sean Strickland as another fighter he kept on the roster despite some inflammatory comments. At the same time, Strickland had also shared his own thoughts about Mitchell on his X page. Along with several other political statements, Strickland said Mitchell had been spending too much time online."Bryce is a product of being on the internet too much. Nothing more Nothing less." — (@) Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Tulsi Gabbard's confirmation hangs in the balance

Tulsi Gabbard's confirmation hangs in the balance

Tulsi Gabbard's nomination to serve as director of national intelligence may be in jeopardy following her fiery testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday. Gabbard put on a disciplined master class during her confirmation hearing, but it may not be enough to secure the votes needed in the Senate. Assuming all Democrats vote to tank President Donald Trump's nominees, Gabbard can afford to lose only three Senate Republican votes with Vice President JD Vance casting a tie-breaking vote. One of the most likely defectors politicos have been keeping tabs on is Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, who voted to tank Pete Hegseth's nomination to the Department of Defense. Onlookers kept their eye on Collins' highly anticipated interaction with Gabbard during the hearing. Despite her historic defection, Gabbard seemed to have appeased Collins. 'People are holding their cards pretty close to the vest. But that nomination is in trouble.'While Gabbard may have cleared one hurdle, others sprung up during her hearing. Several senators, including Republican Sen. James Lankford of Oklahoma, pressed Gabbard over her past support of the NSA leaker Edward Snowden. Lankford and other lawmakers urged Gabbard to call Snowden a traitor, but Gabbard refused. That being said, she acknowledged that Snowden was a criminal and outlined a four-step plan to prevent any "Snowden-like" leaks in the future. All things considered, Gabbard performed as well as she could have. The question is whether it was enough to pull herself across the finish line.Although Lankford previously committed himself as a "yes" vote on Gabbard, he was "surprised" at the nominee's response to concerns about her Snowden stance. "I was surprised because that doesn't seem like a hard question on that," Lankford said Thursday. "It wasn't intended to be a trick question by any means." Republican Sen. Todd Young of Indiana also seems to be on the fence about Gabbard. Young pressed the nominee with a similar line of questioning, asking about her past introduction of legislation that called to pardon Snowden. "He likely endangered American lives through his action," Young said Thursday. "As a leader of the intelligence community, how do you think you would be received on some of these past actions to support or even to pardon Snowden?" While some lawmakers expressed hesitancy, Republican Sen. John Cornyn of Texas put out a statement that could only barely be described as an endorsement of Gabbard. "Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 provides that the president shall appoint officers with the advice and consent of the Senate," Cornyn said. "Having won the election decisively, I believe President Trump has earned the right to appoint his own Cabinet, absent extraordinary circumstances. Therefore, it is my intention to consent to the appointment of Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence.”Gabbard's nomination was not the first to encounter pushback. Despite the overwhelming public enthusiasm for Hegseth, he was barely confirmed thanks to Vance's vote. As it stands, it's unclear if Gabbard has enough votes to clear all the hurdles. "People are holding their cards pretty close to the vest," one Republican senator anonymously told The Hill. "But that nomination is in trouble."At the same time, just because some senators are hesitant doesn't mean they are a hard "no" on Gabbard. If there is any takeaway from previous confirmation battles like Hegseth's, it's that pressure campaigns work. Like Blaze News? Did China’s DeepSeek NUKE the American AI industry?

Did China’s DeepSeek NUKE the American AI industry?

Nvidia shares plummeted by 18% on Monday, losing $590 billion in market cap — the largest in market history — after the release of China’s new AI model, DeepSeek. “That led to panic, especially in the tech part of the stock market in the AI bubble. They’re worried that it might start to pop,” Jill Savage of “Blaze News Tonight” tells investment banker and author of “MoneyGPT” James Rickards and co-host Matthew Peterson. “What’s interesting, the Chinese DeepSeek is not necessarily better than the artificial intelligence and GPT-type applications that we have in the United States, but it is a lot faster, and that’s the key,” Rickards explains. “The companies that suffered, Nvidia in particular, are hardware manufacturers. If you can do the same work faster and with a lot fewer chips, obviously that’s going to hurt the chip manufacturers like Nvidia,” he adds. However, Rickards notes that “the Chinese have a long reputation of cheating in technology, stealing intellectual property.” “Is this thing really just as good, but much, much faster? Maybe only using 10% of the power and the processing power that we use, or were they able to cheat in the training set?” he asks. “The training set is all the material that the large language models and the artificial intelligence algorithms sort of read in order to learn how to answer questions and basically interact with humans.” “We need to learn more about it. It is a dramatic breakthrough. I don’t want to say that the Chinese did cheat, I don’t know that for a fact. I do know, they’ve done that in other cases, so I think we need to learn more,” he adds. Peterson believes this was “timed in an interesting way,” as it was right after Trump came into office. “Right, I definitely expect volatility in the U.S. stock markets now,” Rickards says, though he notes the timing means more for China. “As far as China’s concerned, their economy is in deep trouble, and there was one of their prominent economic commentators recently who wasn’t arrested, but he was told to shut up basically because he was speaking candidly about their GDP,” he explains, adding that China might even be “in a slight recession.” Want more from 'Blaze News Tonight'?To enjoy more provocative opinions, expert analysis, and breaking stories you won’t see anywhere else, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Chicago Mayor Johnson passes buck to feds over illegal alien sex offender living unchecked in city: 'That's their job'

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) passed the buck to the federal government when asked why his administration failed to prevent an illegal alien who was convicted of sex crimes from roaming the city's streets.A reporter questioned Johnson on Tuesday about the recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids led by President Donald Trump's border czar, Tom Homan. 'The problems with the sanctuary city — people like this walking the streets.'"Tom Homan showed up in Chicago and within 24 hours found a convicted sex offender who has been living in our city since 2009, flouting the sex offender registry. If he can do this, why can't you?" the reporter asked.Johnson responded, "Because that's their job.""That is their job," he continued. "The federal government has a responsibility to make sure that individuals who are undocumented who have been charged with, convicted of a crime, it is the federal government's responsibility to do their part to uphold the law. Our local police department, along with our public health department, along with our other sister agencies are working to build a better, stronger, safer Chicago, and as we've stated repeatedly, those critical investments, continue to see the results of those investment as violent crime continues to fall in Chicago."Over the weekend, ICE conducted deportation operations that resulted in the arrest of hundreds of criminal illegal aliens. Dr. Phil McGraw joined Homan and federal immigration agents in Chicago.A video posted online showed McGraw questioning a newly detained convicted child sex offender from Thailand, Sam Seda.Seda admitted to McGraw that he was not an American citizen."This is an example of sanctuary cities," Homan told McGraw. "We've got an illegal alien convicted of sex crimes involving children, and he's walking the streets of Chicago.""Again, the downfall, the problems with the sanctuary city — people like this walking the streets, rather than local law enforcement working with federal agents. This is what we're dealing with," Homan added.McGraw asked Seda whether he had been charged with sex crimes involving children."Not really," Seda replied. Seda told Homan and McGraw that he had never been deported from the U.S. before. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee announced this week that it has launched an investigation into several sanctuary cities, including Chicago, and their impact on public safety and federal immigration enforcement. As part of this investigation, the committee has invited Mayor Johnson to testify at a hearing scheduled for February 11.Additionally, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams have been asked to testify, as their cities are also subjects of the committee's ongoing probe.Like Blaze News? Chuck Todd leaves NBC News as shake-up at Dem-friendly media rolls on under Trump

Former "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd is now leaving NBC News altogether, he announced Friday."Today is my last day ... at NBC," Todd said on the Friday episode of "The Chuck ToddCast" podcast. He also added that with all the time on his hands now, he would take a "little hiatus" before delving into what he called "a few new projects" in a lengthy memo issued to staff."There's never a perfect time to leave a place that's been a professional home for so long," he wrote in the memo, according to USA Today. "So I'm grateful for the chance to get a jump start on my next chapter during this important moment."Todd clarified that he will be able to continue hosting his podcast. "'The Chuck ToddCast' is also coming with me (thank you NBC). Stay tuned for an announcement about its new home soon," the memo said.'My reporting and unique perspective of covering politics with data and history ... [are] important baselines in understanding where we were, where we are, and where we're going.'In the memo, Todd took aim at the national media — of which he has been part since 2007 — suggesting that outlets had lost their way."National media can't win trust back without having a robust partner locally, and trying to game algorithms is no way to inform and report. People are craving community, and that's something national media or the major social media companies can't do as well as local media," Todd wrote."We can't tolerate propagandists. But it doesn't mean sticking your head in the sand, either; if you ignore reality, you'll miss the biggest story."Despite his criticisms of the media, he also indicated he remains a journalistic tour de force, telling staff: "Needless to say, I do plan to continue to share my reporting and unique perspective of covering politics with data and history as important baselines in understanding where we were, where we are, and where we're going."He likewise dropped repeated hints at a bias against President Donald Trump. "I leave feeling concerned about this moment in history but reassured by the standards I and others at NBC have worked so hard to set," he said, once again patting himself on the back."This is a ripe moment," he claimed elsewhere."We're grateful for Chuck's many contributions to our political coverage during his nearly two-decade career at NBC News and for his deep commitment to 'Meet the Press' and its enduring legacy," an NBC News spokesperson said in a statement, according to Fox News. "We wish him all the best in his next endeavors."'Since the onset of the Donald Trump era, it has been the GOP in a constant state of disarray.'Though he seemingly pointed the finger at others for Americans' overall distrust of media, throughout his career, Todd has often been a participant in political activism masked as analysis. Back in February 2016, Todd predicted that Trump's brash attitude would likely "do long-term damage" to his prospects for the White House.More recently, in August, Todd wrote that "it wasn’t until Trump that the party began to organize itself more as a cult-of-personality party, rather than an institution." "Since the onset of the Donald Trump era, it has been the GOP in a constant state of disarray."Then in December, Todd openly fretted about potential industry fallout after ABC News and George Stephanopoulos settled with Trump for $15 million in connection with a defamation lawsuit. "This was stunning to me and absolutely a gut punch to anybody that works at a major media company, because I think it does set a precedent that is going to be very difficult to get out from under potentially," he said at the time.Todd, 52, first joined NBC News in 2007 and was named host of "Meet the Press" seven years later. He left that role in 2023 but remained with the network until Friday.Todd is far from the only high-profile news figure to part ways with a major news network since the beginning of the second Trump term. Norah O'Donnell left "CBS Evening News" on January 23, and Jim Acosta — perhaps best known for his irascible personality and contentious White House coverage during Trump's first term — quit CNN earlier this week rather than move to the graveyard shift.Hoda Kotb left the "Today" show on NBC days before Trump took office again on January 20.Like Blaze News? Outrage over the J6 pardons flows from malicious misinformation

Outrage over the J6 pardons flows from malicious misinformation

The post-pardon outrage from leftist pundits, politicians, and D.C. judges and prosecutors is as dramatic as it is predictable. No amount of reason or logic will stop them from rushing to the cameras to stoke fear and loathing over President Trump’s sweeping pardons and commutations for nearly every January 6 defendant. The pardons included nonviolent offenders and those who, frankly, were significantly otherwise. But every pardon and commutation was justified. Equally unsurprising, Senators Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) eagerly joined the leftist choir. But plenty of other spineless Republicans have also condemned the pardons, mostly RINOs from states or districts where voters only elect Republicans who side with Democrats half the time. Even the most unsavory characters and reprehensible actors had their constitutional rights trampled. That fundamental injustice justified Trump’s blanket pardons. Meanwhile, many in Congress remain willfully ignorant of the Biden Justice Department’s lawless prosecutions of nearly 1,600 J6ers. The scale of their indifference is not just stunning — it’s downright disconcerting. How could they ignore the blatant abuses of due process and basic legal rights? Prosecutors manufactured evidence, suborned perjury, and exaggerated or outright lied about individual behaviors. Courts handed down absurdly harsh sentences, especially compared to similar or worse crimes committed during left-wing protests and riots in the same city less than a year earlier. On top of that, J6ers in the Federal Bureau of Prisons system endured inhumane treatment for years. Sunday morning “news” programs last week were a font of ignorance and disinformation. Near the conclusion of CBS News’ “Face the Nation” interview with Vice President JD Vance, Margaret Brennan repeated a persistent media falsehood about convicted J6er Ronald “Colt” McAbee. She claimed, “Ronald McAbee hit a cop while wearing reinforced brass knuckle gloves, while he held one down on the ground while other rioters assailed the officer for over 20 seconds, causing a concussion.” Courtroom evidence and testimony contradict every word Brennan read from her prepared notes about McAbee, making her claims false and potentially defamatory. At the time, McAbee, a Tennessee deputy sheriff, wore motorcycle gloves with plastic reinforcement to protect his hands in an accident — not “brass knuckles.” He never held down a cop to allow others to cause a concussion. Two exhaustive reports for Blaze Media by my colleague Joe Hanneman expose how federal prosecutors lied, manipulated evidence, and withheld material from a judge to keep McAbee behind bars. A thorough review of video footage confirms McAbee never assaulted Metropolitan Police Department Officer Andrew Wayte, as alleged. Instead, he shielded the officer and helped him return to the police line. Vance delivered a response every Republican should learn and remember. “There’s an important issue here,” he said. “There’s what the people actually did on January 6 — we’re not saying everyone acted perfectly — and then,” he continued, “what did Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice do in unjustly prosecuting well over a thousand Americans in a politically motivated way?” Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), another waste of ample Republican flesh, told Martha Raddatz on ABC News’ “This Week,” “I think the pardons by Joe Biden were disgraceful, and I think Donald Trump has taken it to another level as well.” He didn’t stop there. “These are the two most selfish politicians in the presidency in my lifetime. Joe Biden pardoning his family proves it, and Donald Trump trying to whitewash January 6 proves it.” The real “disgraceful” and “selfish” act is Christie's desperation to stay relevant while pontificating about cases he clearly hasn’t reviewed. His criticism ignores glaring examples of Justice Department overreach and excessive sentencing by D.C. judges, making his commentary more about political positioning than legal integrity. Many GOP and Democrat legislators display blatant ignorance, but the claim that all Capitol Police and D.C. Metro Police feel “disgraced and insulted” by these pardons is false. Capitol Police officers I’ve interviewed and built relationships with over the past three years have shared a different perspective, as evidenced by the many messages in my inbox. Active-duty, retired, off-the-record, and whistleblowing Capitol Police officers have congratulated me on the dismissal of my January 6 case. They recognize the department’s failures and the “setup” that occurred that day — their words, not mine. On January 6 of this year, exactly two weeks before President Trump’s second inauguration, I entered the Capitol to cover the certification of the Electoral College vote count. Two other Blaze Media correspondents witnessed several uniformed and plainclothes Capitol Police officers recognizing and stopping me. They thanked me for exposing “the corruption of the white shirts upstairs.” Make no mistake: About 140 police officers suffered injuries from assailants wielding sticks, bats, flagpoles, and bear spray that day. Calling violent perpetrators and provocateurs “patriots” or “heroes” is wrong. But even the most unsavory characters and reprehensible actors had their constitutional rights trampled by the Justice Department, the FBI, the courts, and their prison guards. That fundamental injustice justified Trump’s blanket pardons, commutations, and case dismissals. Previously untold stories are now circulating through honest press coverage and social media revelations. These stories will gain further traction as newly appointed U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin advances his investigation and as a new House select committee, led by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), begins its work. But much remains to be done — not only to prevent another January 6 riot but also to ensure that no future administration weaponizes the legal system to attack basic rights and emasculate due process.

Pennsylvania Gov. Shapiro shoots down absurd demand from PETA: 'Come and take it'

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) shot down a risible suggestion by the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals about Groundhog Day. PETA called for officials to end the longtime tradition of using a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil to predict whether the winter will continue or end early. They said it should be replaced with a vegan cake mimicking the gender reveal trend. 'PETA is urging The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club to sprinkle some happiness into Phil’s life.' Shapiro issued a defiant challenge referring to the well-known slogan from Texas."Come and take it," he wrote on social media. PETA sent a letter to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club arguing that the club is exploiting an animal for a fake meteorological prediction. “When allowed to be themselves, groundhogs avoid humans, create intricate networks of underground burrows, communicate with one another, and even climb trees, but poor Phil is denied all of that for a tired old gimmick," read the letter from PETA President Ingrid Newkirk. “PETA is urging The Punxsutawney Groundhog Club to sprinkle some happiness into Phil’s life by retiring him and giving Groundhog Day a much-needed ‘cake makeover,'" she added. The tradition held at Gobbler’s Knob goes back 138 years and says that winter will continue for another six weeks if Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow but will end early if he doesn't see his shadow. PETA said that the "noisy announcer, screaming crowds, and flashing lights" of the event go against the natural instincts of a groundhog. The organization was mocked on social media by many."ITS [sic] LITERALLY A DAY FOR ANIMALS. That particular groundhog is like SUPER well taken care of. @peta the stupid, it burns," responded one user. "Phil has to be the most pampered animal on the Eastern Seaboard. Wtf are they worried about?" replied another. "The groundhog lives a life of luxury and works ONE DAY a year …. I’ll take his place," said another critic. Some bizarrely asked if Shapiro's message was a threat. PETA has previously suggested that Punxsutawney Phil be replaced with an artificial intelligence groundhog. Like Blaze News?
