Anyone For A Mini Titanosaur&;#63; New Species Is One Of The Smallest Ever Found

A new species of titanosaur has been described from Argentina. Found in rocks dating back almost 70 million years‚ the mini job has been named Titanomachya gimenezi and was 10 times smaller than its largest titanosaur relatives‚ making it one of the smallest ever described.The fossils were retrieved from Chubut Province in Patagonian Argentina where scientists have been digging in La Colonia Formation. There‚ they uncovered forelimbs‚ hindlimbs‚ and fragments of ribs and vertebrae of the mystery titanosaur species – marking the first sauropod from La Colonia Formation ever to be recognized. The fossils of Titanomachya gimenezi found in La Colonia Formation.Image credit: Gabriel LioElsewhere in Argentina‚ some of the largest dinosaurs ever to roam the Earth have been found‚ including the colossal lump that was Patagotitan mayorum. At the other end of the scale sits Titanomachya at around 7 tons in weight and – as Riley Black wrote for National Geographic – about the size of a massive cow‚ making it about 10 times smaller than Patagotitan. Titanomachya lived during the Maastrichtian‚ the last age of the Cretaceous period that preceded the mass extinction. Its fossils were retrieved from a formation that has yielded everything from hefty carnivores to plesiosaurs‚ turtles‚ and reptiles‚ but it was soon clear that this titanosaur wasn’t something they’d seen before.“The morphology of the talus – the bone responsible for distributing the force coming from the tibia on the inside of the foot – was never seen before in other titanosaurs and shows intermediate traits between the Colossosauria and Saltasauroidea lineages‚ highlighting its evolutionary importance‚” said first author Agust&;iacute;n P&;eacute;rez Moreno from CONICET and Museo de La Plata in a statement. The discovery was unearthed as part of a project on the end of the age of dinosaurs in Patagonia‚ which is funded by the National Geographic Society‚ with the support of more than 10 museums and universities in Argentina including Museo de La Plata. It aims to fill in a gap in our knowledge about the last 15 million years of the Cretaceous Period‚ and the dinosaurs and vertebrates that lived in the region during that time. It’s a period of geological time that’s historically been better studied in northern locales‚ and it’s hoped that digging into the south will enable scientists to identify extinction patterns here relative to the rest of the world. Already‚ the project is providing insights into the landscape of dinosaurs in Patagonia during the Late Cretaceous Epoch. “The discovery of Titanomachya‚ adds to previous data suggesting there was a major ecological change as the Cretaceous [Period] was coming to an end‚ marked by the downsizing of titanosaurs‚ a decrease in their abundance‚ and the predominance of other herbivorous dinosaurs‚ such as hadrosaurs on the landscape‚” said National Geographic Explorer Diego Pol in a release. “This ecological shift in herbivorous dinosaurs occurred amidst changing climates and habitats‚ as well as the advance of the Atlantic Ocean over large parts of Patagonia.”The study is published in Historical Biology.

Ol Doinyo Lengai Is The Weirdest Volcano On Earth‚ Maybe In The Solar System

Ol Doinyo Lengai is one of the weirdest volcanoes on planet Earth‚ perhaps even in the whole Solar System. While it appears typical enough from afar‚ take a peek into its northern crater and you'll see it oozes with a unique form of black lava that’s relatively cool and flows like runny motor oil. Located in the East African Rift of northern Tanzania‚ Ol Doinyo Lengai is the only active volcano known to gargle carbon-based lava‚ known as natrocarbonatite lava. There's some evidence that volcanoes on Venus may have once erupted natrocarbonatite lava too‚ but this African giant is the only known producer on Earth (at least in relatively recent times).Most volcanoes churn out lava rich in silicate minerals‚ making its melting point over 900°C (1‚652 degrees Fahrenheit). The lava of Ol Doinyo Lengai contains relatively little silica‚ but has an abundance of carbonate minerals‚ allowing the lava to enter a liquid state at just 540°C (1‚004 degrees Fahrenheit).The lack of silica makes the lava extremely viscous. When an eruption occurs‚ it looks more like a spluttering pot of black motor oil than an oozing trail of red-hot lava.Given the viscosity of its lava‚ scientists are pretty surprised the volcano can erupt so violently. Explosive eruptions often occur in other volcanoes because gas bubbles can become trapped within the gloopy lava. Nevertheless‚ it’s clear that Ol Doinyo Lengai can erupt with an intense flurry of liquidy lava‚ perhaps because it's loaded with dissolved carbon dioxide and other gases‚ making it effervescent like a fizzy soda.                                Standing at a lofty height of 2‚962 meters (9‚718 feet)‚ the volcano is armed with two craters‚ but only its northern one erupts. The latest eruption period began in April 2017 and was still bubbling away as of the latest report in March 2024. In 2009‚ volcanologists collected gas samples from Ol Doinyo Lengai to unearth the reason behind its unique carbon-based lavas. Curiously‚ they found that the makeup of gases was “indistinguishable” from those emitted along mid-ocean ridges despite the volcano being located inland‚ far from deep-sea mountain ranges.This led the researchers to conclude that the unique carbon-rich lava was being created by the melting of minerals in the Earth’s upper mantle‚ the chunky layer of rock just beneath the planet’s crust. “The chemistry and isotopic composition of the gases reveal that the CO2 is directly sourced from the upper mantle below the East African Rift‚&;quot; David Hilton‚ professor of geochemistry at Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego and coauthor of the 2009 paper‚ said in a statement.&;quot;These mantle gases allow us to infer the carbon content of the upper mantle that is producing the carbonatites to be around 300 parts per million‚ a concentration that is virtually identical to that measured below mid-ocean ridges‚&;quot; added Hilton. A bird's-eye view of Ol Doinyo Lengai taken by an astronaut onboard the International Space Station on October 6‚ 2020.Image credit: ISS/NASAThe East African Rift system upon which Ol Doinyo Lengai sits has been tectonically active for around 25 million years and remains one of the most interesting geologic hot spots in the world. Carving down the eastern side of Africa‚ it’s effectively a giant tear within the African Plate that’s drifting apart by a few millimeters per year. In millions upon millions of years‚ it could eventually split the African continent in half‚ creating a new ocean between East Africa and the remaining African Plate. This divergent plate boundary is responsible for many of the towering peaks in the region‚ including Mount Kilimanjaro‚ Mount Kenya‚ and – last but not least – Ol Doinyo Lengai.

Evidence For A Subatomic Particle Predicted By Fermi

Evidence For A Subatomic Particle Predicted By Fermi

Chinese particle physicists have announced evidence for a new subatomic particle found when the (J/psi) meson decays to a positive and negative pion pair. Although new subatomic particles are found relatively often‚ and reports of tentative discoveries are more common still‚ this one stands out because it was predicted more than 70 years ago by the great physicist Enrico Fermi.Fermi may be best known for the astronomical paradox that bears his name‚ followed by his role in the Manhattan Project‚ given renewed attention he might not have welcomed with the Oppenheimer movie. However‚ his greatest contributions to science were in subatomic physics – including the prediction of the neutrino‚ once considered fanciful but now key to our understanding of the universe. It seems another of his predictions‚ of a bound state of a proton and an antiproton‚ has been vindicated.Perhaps the most remarkable thing about this prediction is that even the particle whose decay has revealed the suspected product was not thought of during Fermi’s lifetime. It was only a decade after Fermi’s death that the first models of quarks produced the idea of a meson‚ a type of particle made up of equal numbers of quarks and antiquarks‚ rather than three quarks as they make up the familiar protons and neutrons.The (J/psi) meson‚ also written J/ψ‚ consists of a charm quark and charm antiquark. Like all mesons‚ it is unstable and doesn’t last long.It’s in observing a (J/psi) meson’s decay to positive and negative pions that the BESIII collaboration‚ composed of representatives from 80 Chinese and Western institutions‚ found signs of something that matches Fermi’s prediction.In 2013‚ the BESIII collaboration found the X(1840) resonance during J/ψ decay. However‚ on closer examination of 10 billion decays‚ they found convincing evidence of two resonances close enough together in energy that they were easy to confuse. The new resonance is designated X(1880) with an energy of 1882.1 MeV/c2. This put its mass close to the proton-antiproton mass threshold. “The proximity of its mass to the ppbar mass threshold supported the existence of a ppbar bound state‚” the authors say in a statement. Protons are symbolized in particle physics by p‚ while pbar is the antimatter counterpart of a proton. A bound state is something composed of two particles that behaves like a single entity.Improbable as the idea sounds‚ protons and antiprotons are already known to exist in protonium‚ where the two orbit their common center of mass for about a millionth of a second before annihilating each other. The new discovery suggests other bound states are possible.The process was initiated by smashing together electrons and positrons (the antimatter equivalents of electrons) at high energy and watching the tracks of the particle products and photons produced.The study is published open access in the journal Physical Review Letters.

Why The Philosophy Of Science Matters

Why The Philosophy Of Science Matters

In recent years‚ there has been a shift in the public perception of science. The COVID-19 pandemic brought with it a modest but noticeable increase in mistrust of scientists and science as an institution‚ especially in the US. According to a new editorial‚ the issue may relate to the public understanding of the philosophy of science‚ an understanding that scientists often take for granted.The main charge against scientists‚ it seems‚ is the belief that some‚ if not many‚ are unwilling to revise established ideas when contrary evidence emerges. To scientists‚ this is likely a baffling accusation. The need for flexibility and a willingness to go with the evidence is a fundamental principle of the scientific method and is surely one that everyone knows. Well‚ perhaps not.Philosophy‚ a dirty wordPhilosophy is not always popular among mainstream scientists. Celebrity scientific figures like Stephen Hawking or physicists like Lawrence Krauss have bemoaned philosophy generally‚ and the philosophy of science more specifically. According to the former‚ philosophy is “dead”‚ while Krauss is reported to regard it as an indulgence at best. However‚ there are issues with perspectives like this.A fundamental problem is that even the detractors of these topics are themselves espousing a philosophical positions‚ often without realizing it. As such‚ they assume that the philosophy of science – how we think about this thing we call science‚ how it works‚ what its explicit and implicit assumptions are‚ and how we address the epistemic and metaphysical implications of its many theories – are self-evident. Unfortunately‚ they are not‚ and it seems the shared principles of flexibility and the need to revise theories in light of new evidence are not only unclear to people‚ but may be seen as a weakness by some.As H. Holden Thorp‚ Editor-in-Chief‚ Science journals explained in his editorial:“Many scientists would be surprised to find that this idea needs to be reinforced. Science is‚ after all‚ a work in progress that changes as new findings cause revision and refinement of held interpretations. The history of science is a powerful narrative of this culture of self-correction‚ and it is the essence of science to attempt to make discoveries that change the way scientists think.”“But whenever science becomes important in the public eye‚ as with climate change and the pandemic‚ the continuous revision can become a target for those who wish to undermine scientific knowledge.”Assumptions about the scientific methodThe recent rise in mistrust in science‚ along with the increased proliferation of misinformation‚ conspiracy theories and downright lies has led many individuals to stress the value of the scientific method in our daily lives.The ability of scientists to change their minds is a strength‚ but it is often obscured‚ downplayed‚ or lost when new discoveries or developments are communicated in the public sphere. This is a problem that Professor Jim Al-Khalili recently discussed with IFLScience. The need to present an authoritative and accessible explanation for complicated phenomena or processes can lead science to be communicated as certain and fixed.                      The opposite is true‚ and the ability of scientists to willingly “eat humble pie” when the evidence requires it should be celebrated more publicly.Part of the issue here is not just with scientists‚ of course. New outlets that cover scientific news‚ especially those who lack specialists in scientific journalism‚ will often simplify stories so they lose their rough edges. As a result‚ Thorp continues‚ the caveats that often come with scientific discoveries are downplayed‚ which adds to this idea of certainty.In addition‚ as Thorp explained in his editorial‚ scientist themselves fall into the “scholastic fallacy”‚ which describes how academics often assume everyone thinks about problems the same way they do. In this case‚ scientists take for granted that the wider public understands and interprets their findings in the same way‚ and automatically understands that all findings are contingent and may be updated later.“Resetting the public’s understanding of how science works will be a big job‚ but a good place to start is with students who get science degrees‚” Thorp explained.“Unfortunately‚ most programs are full of didactic classes about scientific principles‚ with few if any requirements on the history and philosophy of science. Because many undergraduate science majors pursue careers outside of science‚ including medicine‚ a shift in curricula would ultimately produce a public that is more literate in the way that science works.”This would require a lot of work. New curricula would need to be established that take into account broader themes than can comfortably fit into already busy programs. However‚ this approach has value even beyond instilling the fundamentals of the philosophy of science into more people.It would also allow new scientists and professionals to appreciate the story of science‚ its highs and its often forgotten or ignored lows. As Subhadra Das explained to IFLScience‚ science has a weighty history filled with uncomfortable themes and moments that are often left out of public discourse and absent from scientific curricula.                      Unless we are able to address these darker subjects while also celebrating the joys of the scientific method‚ it is likely we will continue to see misunderstandings and mistrust of science and its practitioners.The editorial is published in Science.

Masters Champ Glorifies Jesus Christ on TV After Winning Golf Tournament

The Masters is one of four major professional golf tournaments and it took place this past weekend. The winner of the event‚ Scottie Scheffler‚ is receiving an abundance of praise and celebration after using his victory to glorify Jesus Christ.  American golfer Scheffler won $3‚600‚000 over the weekend and is ranked 1st in the wold for professional golfers at just 27 years old. In a video interview‚ Scheffler talked about a conversation he’d had with one of his friends before winning the tournament. “I wish that I didn’t wanna win as badly as I did‚” Scheffler recalls telling his friend.  “My buddy’s told me this morning … my victory’s secure on the cross.” Powerful words from 2024 #Masters champion Scottie Scheffler after his win on Sunday. pic.twitter.com/woRSd519r2 — Sports Spectrum (@Sports_Spectrum) April 15‚ 2024 “My buddies told me this morning: my victory’s secure on the cross‚” meaning that through Jesus’ love and God’s ultimate plan‚ Scheffler already had a real victory secured for him. Taken aback‚ Scheffler said‚ “that’s a pretty special feeling‚ to know that I’m secure for forever and it doesn’t matter whether or not I win this tournament or lose this tournament‚ my identity [in Jesus] is secure for forever.” Scheffler spoke even more about his win and how it was clearly the Lord’s plans.  CHILLS: Augusta Masters Champ and #1 ranked golfer Scottie Scheffler leaves Corporate Sports Media GASPING after using victory to glorify Jesus Christ on LIVE TV— NO ONE expected this response: &;quot;I’ve been given a gift with this talent and I use it for God’s glory.” 🔥🔥🔥 pic.twitter.com/GsjL56z4Kk — CatholicVote (@CatholicVote) April 15‚ 2024 “I believe that today’s plans were already laid out many years ago and I could do nothing to mess up those plans. I’ve been given a gift of this talent‚ and I use it for God’s glory‚” he said. Scheffler’s sentiment caused an outpouring of support. Catholic Vote‚ who posted a clip of the interview wrote “CHILLS” and insisted that he left “Corporate Sports Media GASPING” after glorifying God in his winning remarks. “Absolutely spectacular human being‚” one commented on X‚ “All Glory to God&;#33;” Another user wrote‚ “I'm beyond ecstatic about the Christian resurgence underway now. We're facing dark times as a nation and we're turning to the one that can save us‚” while one more said‚ “You are an example to all of us who are Christian on how we should conduct ourselves&;#33;” It’s refreshing to see a sports champion like Scheffler recognize that his true “win” is that he has a secure identity and future in Jesus and that God deserves the glory of any and all things we on earth consider success.

Fox News Host Notes 'MSM' Skips NPR Hubbub‚ Would Leap On Fox Insider Expose

On Sunday's MediaBuzz show on the Fox News Channel‚ host Howard Kurtz brought on ex-NPR reporter Juan Williams to recall his own in-house experience with the radical left inside NPR. Kurtz also noted most of the &;quot;mainstream&;quot; media have skipped any mention of the hubbub over NPR senior editor Uri Berliner's expose.  KURTZ: You know‚ The New York Times waited the two days and then a did a sort of 'NPR in Turmoil' piece but didn't get into any of the specifics. Nothing in The Washington Post‚ nothing at Politico‚ nothing on air at CNN or MSNBC. Doesn't that prove Berliner's point&;#63; If this had been a senior Fox person speaking out‚ I think it would have been covered nine seconds later&;#33; WILLIAMS: Oh‚ I don't think there's any question‚ I can tell you that.  The liberal dissidents inside Fox News turn to anti-Fox authors like Brian Stelter or Michael Wolff instead of going public‚ and remain anonymous until they can dish to the next Fox-hater who comes along.  Williams argued that the media‚ from NPR to Fox‚ identify with an audience‚ so NPR can boast they're not for the &;quot;Big Lie&;quot; (like Fox faced in court)‚ but the crusading for your audience against that can lead to a &;quot;blindness.&;quot; So NPR can't admit that Hunter Biden's laptop wasn't entirely fictional or a &;quot;pure distraction.&;quot; Earlier‚ Kurtz recounted how Williams was forced out of NPR in 2010 for admitting he was scared of Muslims on airplanes on Fox's O'Reilly Factor‚ which led Williams to write a book titled Muzzled: The Assault on Honest Debate. Williams underlined this was before Trump. WILLIAMS: I think what we've seen time and again at NPR is an insulated cadre of people‚ liberals‚ I think‚ for the most part who think they are right-thinking‚ they're well educated people‚ that they think they're good people‚ and it can lead‚ I think‚ to a sort of arrogance.  So someone like me‚ I think you've known me a long time. I'm no flaming conservative‚ but I am too conservative a black guy for their taste. They would say‚ well‚ why is he willing to hear this out‚ to talk to a Justice Thomas‚ to deal with black conserv -- they don't -- For them it was‚ like‚ that doesn't fit with advocacy groups who say we need to do more in terms of black American experience. You know‚ obviously‚ I've written‚ I think‚ best-selling books about the black experience in America. But it didn't fit with their understanding.  Kurtz noted that NPR now has a database to log in all of their guests by race‚ gender‚ and sexual orientation‚ which suggests a DEI database of experts. WILLIAMS: I think this has gone to an extreme but‚ again‚ you know‚ there's just an interesting angle here which is it's conservatives at NPR battling against liberals.  KURTZ: Berliner voted against Trump twice. He's not a right-winger.  WILLIAMS: Right.. What you have is sort of‚ liberals against more people trying to prove they're more liberal. That's the very conversation in that very niche media environment. And I think this is highly regrettable because from the kind of journalistic experience I've had‚ you want people challenging ideas‚ people pushing you so that you're doing your best at not only getting the facts‚ or but presenting a balanced picture to the audience.  Even back when Williams came out with his book on being muzzled‚ NPR executives forwarded a‚ well‚ &;quot;Big Lie&;quot; that NPR was ideologically diverse. NPR media reporter David Folkenflik did a story quoting NPR executive Margaret Low Smith bizarrely claiming &;quot;NPR is a stunningly open-minded place. We're deeply encouraging and in fact appreciative of different points of view. Everybody knows that we apply journalistic rigor to absolutely every story we tell.&;quot; Insert laugh track&;#33;

Following Polls Is Not Leadership

Following Polls Is Not Leadership

In the mid-‘90s‚ President Bill Clinton hired famed pollster Dick Morris to triangulate Clinton’s path to victory in 1996. Morris told Clinton that polling is not designed to tell someone what to do. Rather‚ polling is designed to tell one how to sell what they want to do. President Joe Biden has forgotten that lesson and now‚ instead of leading‚ he is being led around by his polling. Eighteen percent of Michigan Democratic voters refused to vote for Biden on Feb. 27. Thirteen percent voted &;quot;uncommitted.&;quot; The loudest of the uncommitted were Hamas supporters in Michigan who have demanded Democrats stop supporting Israel. Despite most Americans recognizing Israel’s right and need to eliminate Hamas and recover its citizens held by Hamas‚ a slim majority of Democrats and a large majority of progressive Democrats disagree. Over the past month‚ since the Michigan primary‚ Biden has slowly walked away from Israel and handed Hamas‚ a terrorist group that also wants to kill Americans‚ a victory in the press. Biden first allowed an anti-Israel resolution to pass the United Nations Security Council. Then he began more public criticisms of Israel. Now‚ the President demands Israel unilaterally stop fighting Hamas. Tragically and ironically‚ had Israel stormed into southern Gaza‚ destroyed Hamas and leveled Rafah quickly‚ the war would be over and public opinion would not have shifted so decisively against Israel. But the Israeli government attempted to humor Biden‚ move slow and minimize civilian casualties. That just bought Biden time to sell out Israel to placate American antisemites whose votes he needs. In Ukraine‚ Biden has been slow to deliver on every promise. He was slow to deliver planes. He was slow to deliver missiles. He was slow to deliver tanks. When he did deliver tanks‚ he supplied Ukraine with tanks so heavy they are getting stuck in the mud. Biden has conveniently blamed Republicans who have dragged their feet on funding Ukraine. But well before funding was an issue‚ Biden’s team never seemed in a hurry to do more than make unfulfilled promises. Now‚ to slow down the Russians‚ Ukraine has started blowing up Russian oil refineries and fuel storage facilities. The result has stymied Russian advances. Russian personnel carriers‚ tanks‚ planes‚ and other vehicles cannot get fuel. Instead of helping‚ American Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin has asked Ukraine to stop. He publicly said he was concerned about what Ukraine’s attacks could do to global fuel prices. This has everything to do with Joe Biden’s reelection chances. High fuel prices will impact food prices‚ which will drive inflation‚ which will drive down Biden’s popularity. Far be it for Ukraine to stymie the Russians when doing so could cost Joe Biden an election. Now‚ in this country‚ just the other day Joe Biden went on Univision to announce he would attempt to unilaterally secure the southern border without Congress passing new legislation. The President who thinks he can unilaterally forgive student loans does not seem to think he has the power to secure the border unilaterally‚ despite prior presidents‚ including Donald Trump‚ doing so. Going to Univision to make his case is a telling sign that‚ again‚ Biden is being led by polls. A growing body of polling data shows Hispanic voters are seriously concerned and upset about illegal immigration. Biden needs them in his coalition to stop Trump. He must crack down on illegal immigration to get their votes. So he must now do what he has insisted he could not do. He will issue executive orders to secure the border‚ something he could have done all along‚ even before the polling turned against him. So desperate to keep a non-white coalition together to stop Trump‚ Biden is even pausing a ban on menthol cigarettes. The ban‚ proposed by the FDA‚ would have gone into effect before the election. Black Americans are the top consumers of menthol cigarettes and flavored tobacco products‚ both of which would have been banned. Now‚ the products are safe‚ at least until Biden wins reelection. Leadership is doing what’s right‚ regardless of the consequences. Biden is not leading. He is being led and that makes him easily manipulated by progressive constituencies.

RFK Jr Illuminates Some Startling Details about Biden and Big Tech’s Collusion

Presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. gave the game away on how the Biden White House used fear and intimidation to push social media censorship. Kennedy Jr. appeared on the April 14 episode of Dave Rubin’s The Rubin Report. During the podcast‚ Kennedy elucidated more on his heated interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett‚ in which he categorized President Joe Biden as a worse threat to democracy than former President Donald Trump‚ much to the astonishment of the CNN host.  Kennedy used this appearance with Rubin to further justify his claims on CNN by categorizing Biden’s anti-free speech actions as a unique‚ unprecedented betrayal of the American identity‚ and that‚ unlike Trump‚ Biden has been proven to have engaged in anti-democratic activity.  Further elaborating on his CNN remarks‚ Kennedy said that “President Biden did something no other president in history‚ and a court has found this. There’s no court that’s found that President Trump tried to steal the election‚ tried to derail the election‚ or tried to start an insurrection. There may be plenty of evidence that he did that. There’s no court that has found that. But there is a court that had found that President Biden was censoring his opponents.” Kennedy is referring to a preliminary injunction issued by a district court judge against the Biden administration’s censorship operation. The judge concluded that the Biden administration had indeed threatened social media companies and ordered that certain government entities and members of the Biden administration cease threatening or directing social media companies to censor. RFK JR discusses extralegal methods Biden Administration uses to censor political opponents. Kennedy defends his comments from CNN interview with Erin Burnett and continues to argue that Biden is worse for democracy than Trump. Kennedy also talks about how the White House was… pic.twitter.com/nOk892ZJwM — Count of Monte Cristo (@MonteCristo1837) April 15‚ 2024 Kennedy then went on to explain some of Biden’s censorship activities in more detail and exposed how the operation worked. “The president had leverage to make these companies comply‚ which is they were threatening to pull antitrust laws‚ but also to pull Section 230 immunity‚” Kennedy said. “Section 230 of the Communications Act is the section that makes Facebook and‚ you know‚ the platforms immune from defamation suits.” According to Kennedy‚ without Section 230‚ social media companies would practically cease to exist‚ and he categorized its repeal as an “existential” threat to these platforms.  “The White House was threatening these platforms that if you don’t censor RFK and other people‚ that we’re gonna go after your Section 230 immunity‚ and that is existential for them‚ so of course they complied‚” he said. Earlier in the episode‚ Kennedy had warned Rubin that this kind of unconstitutional activity by the incumbent president was unlikely to stop.  “Biden has three billion dollars that he’s gonna have‚ according to the New York Times‚ for this campaign‚ probably double any campaign in history‚” Kennedy said. “But he’s not gonna use that money to amplify his voice. He’s gonna use it to try to get Trump off the ballot‚ to try and get me off the ballot‚ to try and make sure he doesn't have anyone running‚ and it’s ironic because the Democrats are all lambasting Vladimir Putin because he won 81 percent of the vote because he didn't have any opponents.” Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency‚ clarity on so-called hate speech and equal footing for conservatives.
