Trump Says He Wants To Permanently Relocate All Gazans In Meeting With Netanyahu

President Donald Trump said during his Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Tuesday that he would like to relocate the entire population of Gaza. “All of them, we’re talking about probably 1.7 million people,” Trump said when asked how many Gazans he would like to resettle. “I think they’ll be resettled in areas where they can live a beautiful life and not be worried about dying every day.” Trump says he wants to permanently resettle all Gazans: “I think they’ll be resettled in areas where they can live a beautiful life and not be worried about dying every day.” pic.twitter.com/amrr8WWwam — Kassy Akiva (@KassyAkiva) February 4, 2025 Trump doubled down on his claim that Egypt and Jordan would not oppose his proposal to relocate Gazan refugees to their countries, despite leaders in both nations rejecting the idea. “They won’t tell me no. I want to remove all the residents of Gaza,” he responded. “It will happen.” He called Gaza a “demolition site.” “I mean, there is hardly a building standing and the ones that are are going to collapse,” Trump said. “You can’t live in Gaza right now and I think we need another location and I think it should be a location that is going to make people happy. You look over the decades and it’s all death in Gaza. This has been happening for years. It’s all death.” He added that he believes people are only in Gaza because there is no alternative. “I think that Gaza has been very unlucky for them,” Trump said. “If they had an alternative, they’d much rather not go back to Gaza and live in a beautiful, alternative that is safe.” Trump also said he does not support Israel building settlements in Gaza again, because he thinks Gaza isn’t a place for anyone to live.  President Donald Trump greets Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House: pic.twitter.com/QCoo9lfbU5 — Mary Margaret Olohan (@MaryMargOlohan) February 4, 2025 Trump said Gazans could also be resettled in several areas that would be built by other wealthy nations, who he says are willing to help. “Gaza is a guarantee that they are going to end up dying. The same thing is going to happen again. It’s happened over and over again and it’s going to happen again.” Trump said the Saudis are not demanding a Palestinian state in exchange for normalized relations with Israel. “Everyone is demanding one thing and you know what that is? Peace,” Trump said. Netanyahu’s visit comes as Trump helped to negotiate the release of hostages held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. So far, 13 of the 33 hostages slated to be released under the first phase of the deal have been freed, including American citizen Keith Siegel. Seven more Americans are still held hostage. An additional five Thai hostages were released under a separate agreement. Netanyahu was the first world leader to meet with Trump at the White House during his second term.

The Internet Decided Reese Witherspoon And Kate Winslet Weren’t Speaking. Here’s What Happened.

Reese Witherspoon shut down rumors that she and actress Kate Winslet weren’t speaking after the internet decided that the two stars had some kind of “falling out.” It all started with comments the “Legally Blonde” star made during an interview with her costar Will Ferrell for their movie “You’re Cordially Invited” for People magazine. Speaking about a time when one of the stars wished they hadn’t given a speech, Witherspoon recalled being asked by someone she called a “proper” actress if she would present an award to the unnamed star. Reese said she agreed, but mistakenly thought it was more like a roast for her — but it wasn’t. “This friend of mine, who I didn’t really know that well, but she was a very serious, proper actress, she asked me to give her an award,” the actress said. “But I had never been to this award ceremony, so I thought it was like a roast.” Reese Witherspoon took to Instagram to share that she and Kate Winslet are “good friends” and “have never had any falling out,” despite online rumors. https://t.co/TmIe5zKD0p — VANITY FAIR (@VanityFair) February 4, 2025 “So I got up and I roasted her,” she added. “The tone was British and elegant and classy. I’m still embarrassed about it. We’re not friends anymore. I’m not even kidding — we’re not friends anymore.” “I think she doesn’t like me anymore,” Witherspoon continued. “I thought it was so funny, and it was just — I had the wrong audience. It was pretty bad. Yeah. Not even kidding, she doesn’t talk to me anymore. Oh well.” So, the internet decided to do some digging and determined that it must’ve happened when the actress presented Winslet with a BAFTA/LA Cunard Britannia Award in 2007, the outlet noted. “The Morning Show” star caught wind of the speculation and decided to make clear that she and Winslet were in fact still friends, and it wasn’t the actress she mentioned in the interview. “Hey guys … just spoke to my very dear friend for years, Kate W. We laughed about this stupidity,” Witherspoon said in her Instagram Stories. “Please do not believe the internet. We are good friends and have never had any falling out.” In another post, the Oscar winner added, “This is completely UNTRUE …so silly!” Related: ‘Legally Blonde’ Star Recalls Being Chosen As Jury Foreman After Role As Law School Student

United States Will Take Over Gaza Strip, Trump Says During Netanyahu Press Conference

President Donald Trump announced during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday that the United States will take over the Gaza Strip. “The U.S. will take over the Gaza strip and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said. “We’ll own it.” Trump said the United States will be responsible for dismantling unexploded bombs and other weapons, demolishing and leveling destroyed buildings, and creating an economic development zone that will “supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.” ?President Trump announces that the U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip. “We’ll own it.” pic.twitter.com/CYe99zZD43 — Kassy Akiva (@KassyAkiva) February 5, 2025 Trump said he sees the United States having long-term ownership, and is open to sending troops if necessary. “I think we will be a great keeper of something that is very, very strong, very powerful, and very, very good for the area, not just for Israel, for the entire Middle East,” Trump said. “There will be jobs for everyone.” “Everyone I have spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land, developing and creating thousands of jobs with something that will be magnificent,” he added. He said he envisions the “world’s people” living in Gaza, including some Palestinians, after it is rebuilt. “I think the potential in the Gaza strip is unbelievable and I think representatives from all over the world will be there,” he said. He added that Gaza could become the “Riviera of the Middle East.” Netanyahu said Trump’s idea is worth paying attention to. “I think it’s something that could change history and I think it is worth pursuing this avenue,” Netanyahu said. During his Oval Office meeting with Netanyahu earlier in the day, Trump said that he plans to have the entire population of Gaza relocated. “It will happen.” He called Gaza a “demolition site,” adding that he believes people are only in Gaza because there is no alternative. Netanyahu called Trump the “greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House.” “That’s why the people of Israel have such enormous respect for you,” he added. Netanyahu thanked Trump for ceasing funding to UNRWA that has funded terrorists, removing sanctions on Israeli civilians, and renewing the maximum pressure campaign against Iran in just two weeks. “All of this in just two weeks,” Netanyahu said. “Can you imagine where we will be in four years?” Netanyahu pointed out that Iran tried to assassinate both world leaders. Earlier in the day, Trump revealed that there is a contingency plan in place in case he is ever assassinated by Iran, which includes obliterating the country. “I left instructions — if they do it, they get obliterated,” he said. “There won’t be anything left.”

Senate Confirms Pam Bondi For Attorney General

On Tuesday, the GOP-led Senate confirmed Pam Bondi to become U.S. Attorney General in President Donald Trump‘s second-term administration. The final vote was 54-46. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) was the sole Democrat to break ranks and join with Republicans in supporting the Cabinet nominee. Bondi was picked to lead the Department of Justice (DOJ) in November after Trump’s prior nominee, former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), withdrew from consideration. Trump touted Bondi’s work prosecuting violent criminals and combating drug trafficking. He added the DOJ would no longer be “weaponized” against Republicans like himself. “Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again,” Trump declared in a statement. Bondi, a former GOP attorney general of Florida who helped defend Trump during his first impeachment trial, endured one of the more hotly-contested nominations. Democrats who oppose the pick have raised concerns about Bondi siding with wealthy special interests and doing Trump’s bidding for political purposes. They demanded records from Bondi, FBI director nominee Kash Patel, and acting leaders in response to the reassignment or removal of senior DOJ officials. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said on Tuesday that Bondi’s record showed that she is “highly qualified” to serve as U.S. Attorney General. Bondi is “ready and able to serve our country well, and I know she’ll work with President Trump to restore faith in the Justice Department,” he declared. During her confirmation hearing earlier this month before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Bondi testified about prioritizing a revival of trust in the DOJ. “I will fight every day to restore confidence and integrity to the Department of Justice and each of its components,” Bondi said. “The partisanship, the weaponization, will be gone.” Bondi also made waves when she clashed with some of the committee’s Democrat members, including Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), a high-profile Trump critic. “I will never play politics,” Bondi told Schiff at one point. “You’re trying to engage me in a ‘gotcha.’ I won’t play politics with any ongoing investigation like you did.” After Democrats placed a one-week hold on the nomination, which was allowed under the rules, Bondi advanced out of committee by a 12-10 vote along party lines. Several Trump Cabinet nominees have been confirmed by the Senate, including Doug Collins, who received the nod to become Veterans Affairs secretary on Tuesday. Others are still making their way through the upper chamber, including Patel and Russell Vought, Trump’s pick to once again lead the Office of Management and Budget. Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s nominee to be director of national intelligence; and Robert F. Kennedy, the pick to be HHS secretary, both advanced out of committee on Tuesday.

Mark Zuckerberg Wants Us to Forgive, Forget Facebook’s Sins

Mark Zuckerberg Wants Us to Forgive, Forget Facebook’s Sins

Mark Zuckerberg is waging a charm offensive. His company, Meta, just agreed to pay $25 million to settle a lawsuit that President Donald Trump filed back in 2021 after being suspended by Facebook and Instagram. The settlement comes on the heels of Zuckerberg’s attendance at Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, Meta’s purported shift away from DEI, and an earlier announcement that the company is rolling back independent fact-checking and taking steps to reduce errors in its content moderation systems. Zuckerberg’s sudden pivot is a welcome change. He says that he wants to return Meta “to [its] roots around free expression.” But his past track record of broken promises is cause for deep suspicion. During the first Trump presidency, when Meta (then Facebook) faced backlash for biased censorship,  Zuckerberg told a Georgetown University audience in October of 2019that “we must continue to stand for free expression” and that in “democracy … people should decide what is credible, not tech companies … .” A year later in October 2020, weeks before the presidential election, Zuckerberg went back on his word. Facebook colluded with the FBI to suppress the New York Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story—on the spurious grounds that the story was the result of a Russian “hack-and-leak operation.” It went on to indefinitely ban Trump while he was still in office—a move that the platform rescinded only months before his historic reelection and has now paid millions to avoid further litigation over. At the same time, Facebook worked hand-in-glove with the federal government to silence skeptics who questioned the efficacy and safety of COVID-19 vaccines. Zuckerberg told a House subcommittee in 2021 that Facebook “[removed] over 12 million pieces of false content”  at the height of COVID-19. He boasted that it did “more to address misinformation than any other company” and added that he was “proud of the teams and systems … [it] built.” Zuckerberg privately admitted later that year that the company “compromise[ed]” its standards “due to pressure.” Yet, Facebook continued to suppress the Chinese “lab leak theory” and “‘vaccine [discouraging] humor posts’ until at least January 2022.” Similarly, during Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine, the company censoredthousands of posts and accounts flagged as “Russian disinformation” by the FBI and a disgraced Ukrainian intelligence agency. Those included authentic accounts of users in the U.S. as well as “@usaporusski … the official, verified, Russian-language [Instagram] account of the U.S. State Department.” Just five months later in August 2022, as Republicans were poised to retake the House, Zuckerberg made a strategic admission. He revealed on Joe Rogan’s podcast that Facebook suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story in 2020 based on guidance from the FBI. Defending the decision, he said that Meta was merely complying with tips from the FBI. In truth, however, Meta repeatedly censored speech against its own better judgment—going so far as to change its content policies—to appease the Biden administration. An investigation by the House Judiciary Committee found that Facebook officials chose to censor the laptop story without credible evidence of a leak with the knowledge that their actions could influence the 2020 election. Zuckerberg and Meta leadership concealed the overtly political motives of their censorship for years. Only after the Republican-controlled House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Zuckerberg in contempt did the company fully cooperate with the investigation and produce all evidence of Meta’s collusion with various government entities like the White House and the FBI. Even then, Zuckerberg only expressed public remorse for Meta’s censorship in August 2024, shortly before the committee released its findings and Trump won reelection. Now, with Trump’s return to office and renewed efforts to rein in Big Tech, Zuckerberg would like us all to forget Meta’s sins or at least remember them in a more favorable light. Days after Zuckerberg’s meeting with Trump in November, the company’s former head of global affairs, Nick Clegg, backtracked on Meta’s long-standing defense of its censorship practices. Clegg admittedthat Meta censored too much content by “mistake.” Zuckerberg’s scripted video—less than two weeks later—echoed the line that his platforms’ censorship was mostly just a big “mistake.” While conveniently shifting blame for political bias onto third-party fact-checkers, he claimed that the great bulk of the censorship is the result of good-faith content policies and “complex systems” that sometimes err. In an ironic twist, Zuckerberg referenced his 2019 Georgetown speech on “freedom of expression”—which he gave a year before interfering in the 2020 election by censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story. While some characterized the announcement as “Zuck finding his spine,” the better explanation is that he was afraid of being held accountable for betraying American values to appease the powerful. If Meta and Zuckerberg’s track record of broken promises teaches us anything, it’s that neither he nor his company can be trusted. Over and over, when Meta faced pressure to compromise its own standards and undermine free speech to curry political favor, it caved. Zuckerberg wants us to forget about Facebook’s betrayal of American values. For the sake of our nation and the future of free speech, Meta and its Big Tech counterparts must be held accountable. As Vice President JD Vance said just last week, Big Tech is still “very much on notice.” The post Mark Zuckerberg Wants Us to Forgive, Forget Facebook’s Sins appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Trump’s Freeze of USAID Is a Blow to Global Leftist Empire

Trump’s Freeze of USAID Is a Blow to Global Leftist Empire

The Trump administration is putting a stick of dynamite under the Deep State, and Democrats are apoplectic. On Tuesday, President Donald Trump put nearly all District of Columbia-based employees of the U.S. Agency for International Development—or USAID—on leave. According to Politico, this amounts to about 1,400 people in addition to 600 employees who were put on leave starting Sunday. This comes after the Trump administration put a 90-day freeze on all foreign assistance. Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and entrepreneur Elon Musk—who runs the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE—have spent the last few days excoriating USAID for wasting millions of taxpayer dollars on useless or downright pernicious projects around the globe. Rubio explained what the problem with USAID is in an interview with Fox News on Monday. “They have evolved into an agency that they believes that they’re not even a U.S. government agency, that they are … a global charity, that they take the taxpayer money and they spend it as a global charity, irrespective of whether it is in the national interest or not,” Rubio said. pic.twitter.com/SV79e3pYTk— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) February 4, 2025 He noted that embassies around the world complain that USAID is not only uncooperative but that it undermines the governments the U.S. wants to work with. Rubio said that the agency operates as if its master is the “globe” and not the U.S., which is a departure from the intent of the original statute that created it. Rubio, who is putting the operation of USAID under his authority, said that the goal has been to reform the agency, but right now, there is “rank insubordination.” The attitude of the employees, Rubio said, is that they work for themselves, not the American people or their elected officials. This is why the administration had to take dramatic steps to temporarily freeze the agency, Rubio explained. It’s a significant blow that’s stunned Democrats who aren’t used to Republicans challenging the Left’s unaccountable administrative machine so directly. The Left is banking heavily that it can make the USAID freeze an issue to turn the American people against the Trump administration. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. warned that DOGE and the Trump administration may not stop at USAID but might investigate …. the IRS. Let's Go! Chuck Schumer suggests if DOGE attacks USAID today, tomorrow they might target the IRS or intelligence agenciespic.twitter.com/jTCHgyPIB7— Media Research Center (@theMRC) February 4, 2025 Oh no, not the IRS! I have my doubts that the Left’s strategy on this will work. The move mostly effects a narrow band of federal workers who hardly reflect the larger American public. The Deep State #Resistance hasn’t been nearly so robust or effective as it was in 2017. Even more importantly, when Americans generally learn what USAID actually does, they aren’t likely to be upset that Trump will reboot it. USAID is a product of the Cold War in which the U.S. was engaged in a global battle against the forces of international Marxism. It was created through a 1961 executive order by President John F. Kennedy as tool of the federal government to aid to American soft power by influencing other nations with financial and other assistance. But what was the purpose of the agency once the Cold War and the Soviet threat came to an end? It’s during this post-Cold War era that U.S. foreign policy changed, and the goals often became nebulous humanitarian “democracy” promotion. Its politics veered far to the left despite operating under the guise of nonpartisanship. Organizations like USAID became enlisted in what can be described as no less than the creation of a global leftist empire. No longer would it be tailored toward narrow American interests or containing the global communist threat. Instead, it would be a conduit to siphon U.S. taxpayer dollars to various leftist projects, many of which are deeply resented by other nations. It became, at minimum, a jobs program for hordes of American left-wing activists. USAID and the various entities it funded increasingly appear to have been part of a government works program, providing meaningless employment globally to those dedicated to forwarding left-wing agitprop.— Erielle Azerrad (@politicalelle) February 4, 2025 In just the last few days, there has been increasing scrutiny into what USAID has been funding. Proponents of the agency often tout that it delivers life-saving drugs to developing countries, but that is the front for all the other explicitly ideological projects it is engaged in. For instance, the Washington Free Beacon reported that in 2023 under President Joe Biden, USAID spent $1 million “on a project to help disabled people in the Central Asian country of Tajikistan become ‘climate leaders.’” The Biden administration supercharged the efforts of USAID and the State Department to promote far-left social goals. For instance, according to The Wall Street Journal, the State Department was funding “culture grants” to promote drag queen performances in Ecuador. Meanwhile, China was investing heavily in the country’s copper mining production. The Free Beacon also reported that USAID spent millions of dollars on various diversity, equity, and inclusion projects, including a program created to “engage with indigenous-led institutions to implement an indigenous language technology program” in Guatemala where over 95% of people speak Spanish. It also spent money on groups that praised terrorists. “In November 2022, USAID sent $78,000 to the Community Development and Continuing Education Institute (CDCEI), a Palestinian activist group based in the West Bank. Its leaders praised a terrorist who murdered a U.S. military attaché as a ‘hero fighter,’” the Free Beacon reported. Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., sent a letter to USAID in October 2024 saying that some of the more than a billion dollars being used for humanitarian relief in Gaza was likely being funneled to terrorists. “As I predicted would happen from the outset, credible reporting indicates that Hamas terrorists have diverted this aid; indisputable evidence demonstrates that the aid was always at high risk of diversion,” Cotton wrote, according to Fox News Digital. Under Biden, USAID even spent money funding abortions in Africa through programs billed as AIDS relief, Fox News reported. Proponents of USAID often say that the agency is necessary to counter the influence of China, but how are we doing ourselves any favors when China is spending money on economic and resources development and we are spending money and delivering lectures about transgenderism? Perhaps most damning of all, USAID has funneled money to Chinese organizations working on coronavirus research, including the infamous Wuhan Institute of Virology. I suspect we’re gonna see a lot more of this GAO chart on how USAID — & NIH — used taxpayer-funded money to send tens of millions of dollars in awards & subawards to EcoHealth, the Chinese Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Wuhan University, & the Wuhan Institute of Virology. pic.twitter.com/RkbnINwEZV— Jerry Dunleavy IV ?? (@JerryDunleavy) February 4, 2025 And to top it all off, as my colleague Tyler O’Neil reported, USAID has worked closely with George Soros’ Open Society Institute over the years. That the United States has an agency like USAID isn’t inherently bad. There are benefits to being able to deliver aid to potential international partners and to promote American values abroad. But the current iteration of USAID isn’t really doing that. Instead, it’s operating like a rogue agency, furthering a left-wing ideological project that’s unpopular at home and abroad. Striking a blow to USAID—and at the very least, forcing it to focus on its original core mission—will be a major boon to the U.S. and a blow to the Left. It’s a win-win situation and indicative of Trump’s seriousness in going after the Deep State in his second White House go-around. The 11th Hour’s Post-Inaugural Pity Party ‘Therapy Session’ Never Ends

Ever since the inauguration two weeks ago, MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle has apparently had little else to do with her time but complain bitterly about virtually every step the new Trump Administration took. During Monday night’s airing of The 11th Hour, she and former GOP staffer Reed Galen, who is now president of The Union (an apparent subgroup of The Lincoln Project) and host of The Home Front podcast, railed incessantly against the administration’s latest moves, acting as though the world were coming to an end. True to form, though, they seemed to take some comfort in their conviction that they were right, and know so much better than all those stupid, ordinary, everyday Americans who voted Trump back in. On the administration’s strong Republican support in Congress, Ruhle asked Galen: “Are they okay with giving up their power as a co-equal branch of government?” “Yes. 100 percent,” Galen replied. “You know, without question, they are - let's see - 270 walking rubber stamps.”     He then went on to single out Senator Susan Collins of Maine for her support of Trump’s pick of Tulsi Gabbard as director of national intelligence, saying, “She knows better, but she's always known better. I guess after all these years, they still haven't learned their lesson. But, Collins has, which is, she's going to get in line now that that's in her best interest.” The topic then turned to the dismantling of USAID, begun under the auspices of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, and the two could not hide their vitriol for Musk, his plan, or any ordinary person who might take a more favorable view.  “If you are an individual American,” Galen asked rhetorically, “Do you know what USAID is?” “What it does?” or “How does it affect your life?” “No,” Ruhle replied flatly as if to represent Americans. So, according to them, average Americans were too stupid and ignorant to even know how their own government worked or where their tax dollars went. They were not, in Galen’s words, “worried about the game of thrones that Elon and Trump…are playing,” and unfortunately, “that's the thing that Republicans have been very clear on.” Things took a turn for the laughable when Galen asserted that part of the problem was that Democrats “have always had an uncomfortable relationship with power. They've been very unwilling to utilize it, they've been un- very unwilling to do the things they could when they have it.” He went on to demand Democrats ask themselves: “now you have to say, are you going to bear the consequences of utilizing whatever slivers of power you have?” “This is not to turn into a therapy session for you and me, Stephanie- but like- there is some, you know, boundaries you have to put up for yourself, right?” Galen intoned. “But the last piece is,” he concluded, “and again, this is more philosophical than anything else- we must be convinced that at the end of this, whatever else happens, we will prevail. But it's going to be pretty tough in the meantime.” “You just have to stay in the light,” agreed Ruhle. One might suppose that MSNBC could at some point stop obsessing over every action of a president and an administration they happen to dislike, and patting themselves on the back for their own purported moral and intellectual superiority, and simply report the news. The transcript is below. Click "Expand" to read it   MSNBC The 11th Hour 02/03/2025 11:50 PM [ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: RASKIN ON MUSK-WE’RE GOING TO STOP HIM] STEPHANIE RUHLE: Reed Galen joins us. He worked on a number of GOP campaigns. He's now the president of jointheunion.us and host of the- the Homefront podcast.  Reed, can we start with Republicans? Republicans in Congress. We are not hearing much from them. And what I want to understand, are they okay with giving up their power as a co-equal branch of government? REED GALEN (JOINTHEUNION.US PRESIDENT): Yes. 100 percent. You know, without question, they are - let's see - 270 walking rubber stamps. I saw a pathetic excuse for an explanation from Susan Collins of Maine today, about why she was now comfortable with Tulsi Gabbard being the Director of National Intelligence. She knows better, but she's always known better. I guess after all these years, they still haven't learned their lesson. But, Collins has, which is, she's going to get in line now that that's in her best interest. (…) 11:52 PM [ON-SCREEN HEADLINE: IS CONGRESS GIVING UP ITS POWER TO TRUMP AND MUSK?] GALEN: And then lastly, look, we have to be very clear. If you are an individual American, one, do you know what USAID is? RUHLE: No. Galen: Two, if you do, do you know what it does? And three, if you do, one, are you okay with that? And two, how does it affect your life?  And that's the thing that Republicans have been very clear on, is that the individual American who is trying to get through the day is not worried about the game of thrones that Elon and Trump and Jamie Raskin and everybody else are playing. 11:53 PM GALEN: Democrats, Stephanie, have always had an uncomfortable relationship with power. They've been very unwilling to utilize it, they've been un- very unwilling to do the things they could when they have it.  Look, they have a history. Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi's always understood it. LBJ going back, Harry Reid- like, there are Democrats who've understood it.  But now you have to say, are you going to bear the consequences of utilizing whatever slivers of power you have? (…) 11:54 PM RUHLE: So what do you say to people out there? There are voters who feel angered, they feel paralyzed right now, they're saying, “I did not vote for Elon Musk. I don't want this.” What should they be focused on? What should they do? GALEN: You- Look, there's not a great answer to this, unfortunately. The one thing I can say- and this is not to turn into a therapy session for you and me, Stephanie- but like- there is some, you know, boundaries you have to put up for yourself, right?  I was talking to somebody, a dear family friend just a little while ago- said “I'm just positively depressed, just watching things all day every day. How could this possibly happen?” They then followed up with “are my social security checks going to stop coming?” So that's a legitimate concern. But, again, there is a difference between paying attention, keeping your eyes and ears open, and diving deep, deep, deep into the crazy pool all day, every day.  There are plenty of things around us, right?
