Someone in the United States is buying MASSIVE amounts of gold. What’s going on?

Someone in the United States is buying MASSIVE amounts of gold. What’s going on?

“There's something going on with gold, and nobody really knows what it is,” says Glenn Beck, pointing to the following “must-read” tweet thread from Matt Smith: — (@) “Somebody here in the United States is buying a crapload of gold. We think (I hope) it’s the Treasury or the Central Bank,” he says. Whoever is behind the purchases — “somebody with very deep pockets” — isn’t just collecting gold notes, either. Whoever this mysterious somebody is, they’re “taking huge physical deliveries, and it's causing shortages in London,” says Glenn. What on Earth is going on? Glenn dives into two potential outcomes. Outcome #1: Trump returns the US dollar to the gold standard It’s possible that “they're preparing for a full-on gold audit,” says Glenn, noting that on the government's balance sheet, its gold assets are “valued at $45 an ounce.” However, the true value of gold as of now is actually “$2900 an ounce.” “So they're talking now about boosting the price of gold, at least market to market, but maybe even making it $5,000 an ounce. If that happens, the balance sheet starts to fall into line and our debt to GDP is not as bad as it really is right now,” Glenn explains. “We're coming to a place where we’re not going to be able to finance the debt,” he says. This effort to “reshore up our balance sheet and make ourselves healthier” is “because we're at the end of the dollar. We're at the end of this financial system.” “So this is an endgame. It’s why tariffs are being brought in,” which will “cause inflation to rise,” Glenn says. “If [tariffs] are not done exactly right,” the average person will be “punished with higher prices.” However, Donald Trump “is betting that wages will also rise because he's forcing people to keep their profits here and make jobs here.” “If everything goes right, what the trade on gold is showing us is that we may be going towards a gold-backed financial system or a gold-backed currency of some sort,” says Glenn, adding that “the FED could even be shut down.” He then explains that “the dollar could be, by design, being collapsed.” “That's exactly what the Biden administration was doing ... but they didn't have a plan to replace it other than a digital dollar and global slavery. I'm not sure what the plan is here, but it seems much more American-centric — good for America and eventually good for the rest of the world,” says Glenn. Outcome #2: Nobody owns anything He then points back to Smith’s X thread — specifically to the part where he suggests that “they’re reshoring the gold that might have been leased out.” “That’s rehypothecation” says Glenn, warning his listeners that they need to watch carefully for this word in the coming days. Rehypothecation, he explains, is when “we've taken one asset and we've counted it on several different accounting books.” If this happens, that means “no one owns anything,” says Glenn, calling it “a Ponzi scheme.” To hear his advice for the everyday American, watch the clip above. Elon Musk rips into '60 Minutes' for misleading report on firings at USAID

A "60 Minutes" report tried to drum up emotional support for employees fired from the U.S. Agency for International Development by the Trump administration, and Elon Musk fired back on social media. USAID was one of the more prominent targets of the DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency headed by Musk to root out wasteful spending and corruption. Democrats were outraged that workers were denied entry to USAID offices and accused Musk of acting unconstitutionally. 'These are folks who had decades and decades of public service serving USAID across administrations from, you know, George Bush to Obama to the first Trump administration.'The report featured an interview with Kristina Drye, a former USAID worker who was fired during the DOGE shutdown. “People are really scared," said Drye in the report. "I think that, 12 days ago, people knew where their next paycheck was coming from. They knew how they were going to pay for their kids' day care, their medical bills. And then, all gone overnight,” Drye said. Musk retweeted a screenshot from the report and disputed the characterization of the treatment of the workers. "60 Mins are such liars. As the Community Note states, all employees were offered 8 months of pay & benefits," he wrote. Drye went on to criticize the manner in which the DOGE fired the employees. "They had to leave the building. And these are folks who had decades and decades of public service serving USAID across administrations from, you know, George Bush to Obama to the first Trump administration. And they were never able to walk back in the building again," she explained. The report included complaints from a former RNC member and USAID administrator who called the accusations of corruption against the agency "nonsense." It also brought on Democratic Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware, who reiterated the accusation that the DOGE was improperly accessing private information. "I think DOGE is an unelected, unofficial, small group of young tech bros who are charging into different federal agencies getting into their core computer systems, doing things with them that at least I don't know the full details of, copying and downloading reams of data," said Coons. Musk brushed away the privacy concerns by arguing that he had access to private data after co-founding PayPal. "Bruh, if I wanted to rummage through random personal s**t, I could have done that at PAYPAL. Hello???" he wrote. Like Blaze News? Apple Maps could finally get ads soon

It's 2025, and somehow, Apple Maps still doesn't have ads. While virtually all of the competition has implemented some form of advertisements in their mobile apps, the Maps app remains ad-free. Sadly, that might not be the case for much longer. In the latest edition of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said that while there is “no timeline or active engineering being done" on Apple Maps ads, the company has recently told employees that it is "exploring" the idea of bringing ads to the platform. The ads would show up in the form of paid search results, similar to Google Maps or Yelp, where businesses can pay to have their listings show up ahead of others on relevant searches. Not only is this not the first time we've heard rumors about Apple Maps ads, but Gurman himself reported on their impending arrival nearly three years ago. Here's what Gurman claimed in a 2022 edition of his newsletter: “I believe the engineering work is already underway to launch search ads in the Apple Maps app, and we should begin to see it be implemented sometime next year." Obviously, that did not come to fruition but don't be surprised if you see sponsored results when you search in Apple's Maps apps in the coming months. Meanwhile, Apple is still working on bringing an ad-supported subscription to Apple TV+ as well. Similar to its mapping counterpart, the premium streaming service is one of the final holdouts in the industry without a cheaper ad tier on offer. Don't Miss: There won’t be an iPhone SE 4 because Apple isn’t calling it that The post Apple Maps could finally get ads soon appeared first on BGR.
