Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended a previously deported illegal alien from El Salvador who was wanted in his home country for crimes against humanity including human trafficking. ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) in Boston, Massachusetts arrested the unnamed 50-year-old illegal alien on the wealthy island of Martha’s Vineyard. “This Salvadoran fugitive is wanted by authorities in his native country to face some extremely serious and disturbing allegations,” ERO Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde explained in a statement. “He attempted to hide out in Massachusetts and escape the law in his home country. He posed a substantial threat to the residents of Martha’s Vineyard,” Hyde added. “ERO Boston will continue to prioritize public safety in all of our New England communities by arresting and removing egregious noncitizen offenders.” The illegal alien was deported in 1995 after he illegally entered the United States in 1994. He was then later convicted of disorderly conduct in Portland, Maine in 2003, and arrested again in 2009 in Framingham, Massachusetts by Boston ERO. He was arrested yet again in 2010 by Boston ERO and deported in 2011. ICE did not state when the unnamed illegal alien reentered the United States. The arrest comes after Boston ERO apprehended four illegal aliens in Nantucket in September, each of whom had been charged with sex crimes. Of the four, two of them had been charged with sex crimes against children. Data released by ICE indicates that as many as 425,000 convicted criminals could currently be residing in the United States illegally. Concerns about illegal alien crime hit a fever pitch following the deaths of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, Rachel Morin, and Laken Riley among others, each of whom is believed to have been killed by illegal aliens. The flurry of illegal alien arrests by Boston ERO and the wave of migrant crime come amid an unprecedented crisis on both the southern and the northern borders. More than 10 million people have crossed the border under the Biden-Harris administration, with an estimated 1.7 million illegal immigrant gotaways recorded since Biden was inaugurated in 2021. There were a total of 415,000 reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 during the Trump administration.

California teachers union members pushed their views on the Israel-Hamas war on students, posing questions such as “What does Palestinian freedom mean to you?” and “How are you engaged with the Palestinian freedom struggle?” documents shared with The Daily Wire show. Documents obtained by Parents Defending Education through a public records request show a sustained effort by California teachers to push anti-Israel views in public schools, particularly after October 7. On October 25, just weeks after Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel, a teacher emailed her students to tell them that she would be speaking before the school board to call “for an end to the invasion and attack on Gaza,” and that “If you’d like to speak out on this important issue you can sign up.” The following month, Tania Kappner, a teacher and leader of the By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) faction of the National Education Association (NEA), offered extra credit to students who agreed to “use this slide deck to learn more about the current war in Gaza and write a paragraph.” Kappner is a longtime Israel critic who in February communicated with the Revolutionary Community Party, documents show. “This is yet another data point exposing how the hate we are seeing on college campuses is being taught in K-12 classrooms,” Michele Exner, Senior Advisor at Parents Defending Education, told The Daily Wire. “These radical teachers are using school resources to fuel a disturbing cycle of propaganda and hate that is creating a generation of students filled with antisemitism and anti-America sentiments.” Kappner is a longtime crusader against Israel, introducing a union resolution in 2021 that said Israel was committing “ethnic cleansing” and calling on the United States to stop “arming and supporting” Israel. Kappner said she was inspired when the longshoremen’s union refused to unload cargo from an Israeli-owned ship in Oakland, which Vice President Kamala Harris considers her hometown. In February 2024, a representative of the Revolutionary Community Party emailed Kappner to ask whether the communist group “could visit one of your classes with an overall topic of what a rare time we are facing in the year 2024… from Gaza to the elections.”  Kappner responded, “Just marched in SF today! I no longer work at the high school level and now work online. Glad you are organizing for Gaza, but I don’t have a classroom available.” Kappner has repeatedly run for the NEA’s executive committee. In 2022, her campaign flier said she wanted “mandatory masking” and to “Defeat the Right-wing Trump movement.” A 2023 flier said she was running for NEA vice president as part of a slate “committed to building integrated, militant, mass action,” and that “Our labor, student, civil rights, and immigrant rights movement must build mass unified action and strike to win.” Kappner did not respond to questions from The Daily Wire, including a request to view the “slide deck.” Kappner is not the only California teacher found to have pushed anti-Israel views in the classroom. On April 30, Nicoletta Karam — an Oakland teacher who has written books about “The 9/11 Backlash” and “A Cross-Dressing Burlesque Farce”— wrote to colleagues to share “May 1st Day of Solidarity with Palestine Curriculum Materials” for “anyone wanting to give students a May 1st update about Gaza.” The resources included a “Palestine loss of land map,” “college protest and divestment demands,” and a link to Arab news source Al Jazeera about calls to arrest Israel’s leadership. Karam and her colleagues worked at Sojourner Truth Independent Study, a K-12 program where Oakland students don’t have to attend school in person at all, and only 12% are proficient in math. Adarene Hoag, who ran for NEA treasurer on the BAMN slate and worked as a Resource Specialist at the school, distributed the materials to teachers. Hoag also shared a document titled “Educational Resources on Palestine Gathered & Created by Members of the Oakland Education Association” that aims to push views on Palestine with books such as “P is for Palestine” for children just learning to read, “Colonialism, in Regards to Palestine” for middle schoolers, and a “Settler Colonialism Worksheet” for high schoolers, in addition to views such as “Gaza Fights for Freedom,” “Why is Israel called an apartheid state?” and “Abolition Means No More War.” Mark Airgood, who ran for NEA president on the BAMN slate, also replied to Karam’s email thanking her. Airgood was photographed in 2021 protesting against school re-opening, with a sign saying it would lead to “dead children” and directing people to BAMN.com. With COVID over, the BAMN website now rails against Israel and seemingly praises Hezbollah, saying “Victory to the Palestinian Struggle Against Israel and Imperialism By Any Means Necessary! Victory to the Lebanese Resistance to All Israeli Attacks By Any Means Necessary!” It adds, “Renew the Palestinian intifada!” On December 6, the OEA for Palestine caucus, another faction within the teachers union, held an online “teach-in” for students and staff, followed by “Q&A from students.” It noted that participants must be signed in to their official school online accounts in order to access the materials. A document for students watching the webinar had them write down “What does Palestinian freedom mean to you? How are you engaged with the Palestinian freedom struggle?” John Sasaki, a spokesman for Oakland Unified, told The Daily Wire that teachers are told that “With regard to local and national elections, staff members are not allowed to pressure students or tell them to support one candidate over another, and that includes through posters in physical or online instructional spaces or wearing clothing that has campaign imagery on it. School employees are reminded that it’s our schools’ responsibility to teach young people how to think, not what to think.” He said that applies “to political speech outside campaign season.”

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy provoked a testy response from Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre during a Monday briefing, eventually prompting her to pack up her binder and walk out of the room. Doocy pressed Jean-Pierre on Vice President Kamala Harris’ weekend post announcing more than $150 million in aid going to Lebanon, noting that American citizens across the southeastern United States had not yet fully realized the breadth of the damage wrought by Hurricane Helene — and that the Biden-Harris administration had already announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) did not have sufficient funding to last through the remainder of hurricane season. I just mentioned $200 million to folks who are impacted in the area. And I just shared with you that people are deciding not to —” Jean-Pierre attempted to pivot, suggesting that the real problem was Republicans who suggested FEMA was not doing enough to help, which caused people who might need help to not ask for it. Doocy recalled Biden’s letter to Congress, which asked for more funding to be allocated to FEMA as the agency was running short. “The president’s letter is not misinformation. Would you agree?” Doocy pressed. “No, the way you’re asking me the question is misinformation. There is money that we are allocating to the impacted areas. And there’s money there to help people who truly need it. There are survivors who need the funding, who need the funding, and it’s there,” Jean-Pierre insisted. “You can’t call a question that you don’t like ‘misinformation,'” Doocy pushed back. “I actually said we have the money available to help survivors of Hurricane Helene and also Hurricane Milton. Now, there’s going to be a shortfall, right? Because we don’t know how bad Hurricane Milton is going to be. And so, we’re going to need additional funding,” she said again. “That’s exactly what I just asked about, and you said it was misinformation,” Doocy protested. “What you’re asking me is why Congress needs to come back and do their job. That’s what you’re asking me. Congress needs to come back and do their job and provide extra assistance, extra funding to disaster relief fund,” Jean-Pierre said, packing up her binder. “That’s what Congress needs to do, and we’re gonna continue to urge that. You may not want that, but that’s ok. That’s what this president wants, and that’s what the vice president wants.” With that, she walked out of the briefing, taking no more questions.

Gotta appeal to that Ilhan Omar base.” Omar — who represents the state’s 5th district — has come under fire for her criticism of Israel, as previously reported. Earlier this summer, Omar slammed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after he was invited to speak to Congress. Of the roughly 251 hostages taken by the terrorist group on that day, officials say that 64 are still being held alive alongside the bodies of another 33 of whom are deceased. The other 154 hostages have been either rescued or released, or their bodies have been recovered, as previously reported.
