Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is reportedly considering running for a Michigan Senate seat in 2026.

Enrique Tarrio, the former Proud Boys leader who was facing decades behind bars, spoke out on Tuesday, after President Donald Trump pardoned him and nearly all other J6 defendants hours into Trump’s second term. Tarrio was prosecuted by the Biden DOJ and convicted of the rare and serious charge of seditious conspiracy for supposed J6 involvement, though he was not even in Washington, D.C., on the day of the breach. In 2023, Tarrio was sentenced to 22 years in prison. “As my first tweet I have to give thanks to the many people that made this happen, my life was given back to me after their persistence and resilience,” he posted on X. “They didn’t do it for any other reason than love for me and this amazing country we live in.” “I want to thank God, because through Him ALL things are possible,” Tarrio said. “In Exodus Chapter 15, Verse 3, it describes God as a Man of War. He certainly showed that with us and through His guidance of President Trump. Notably, the DOJ highlighted a document outlining a Capitol takeover that was sent to Tarrio on social media platform Telegram called “1776 Returns,” though Tarrio did not directly respond to the sent document and claims he never even saw it, let alone opened it. Tarrio’s first post on X also thanked his family, specifically his mother Zuny Tarrio, whom he called a “warrior,” his fiancée, and many others, including fellow J6 defendants. Tarrio called Zachary Rehl and Ethan Nordean his “brothers” and thanked them for standing “their ground in the face of decades in prison.” Rehl and Nordean were also convicted of the rare seditious conspiracy charge. Tarrio noted that Rehl missed the birth if his daughter “because of the wicked DOJ.”  “A special place is reserved for Joe Biggs, who is currently STILL under restrictions because of a corrupt probation office that is defying the ORDERS from [Presidnet Donald Trump],” Tarrio said. California’s Santa Clara County is promoting a “rapid response” network to track Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in San Jose and other Bay Area cities, already tracking down two ICE sightings. The network logged ICE agents operating in San Jose over the weekend, with at least one detainment reported. Members of the response network received a tip that ICE was operating there before pinpointing and following the federal law enforcement agents. San Jose Councilmember Peter Ortiz joined members of the network. “I was in a car, and we just started following ICE throughout the area, documenting what we saw, documenting what we were told.” An illegal alien from Columbia residing in San Jose is believed to have been detained by ICE. The ICE effort is part of President Donald Trump’s mass deportation operation, which has targeted criminal illegal aliens in cities across the country. Critics say that the response network, which works to protect criminal illegal aliens from deportations, also puts federal law enforcement at risk during enforcement operations. The rapid response network is promoted on the Santa Clara County government website. “If you see ICE activity in Santa Clara County, you may call the Rapid Response Network,” the county’s site says. “The Rapid Response Network (RRN) in Santa Clara County is a community defense project developed to protect families from deportation threats and to provide support during and after a community member’s arrest or detention.” The network also provides suspected illegal aliens with immigration lawyers. San Jose Democratic Mayor Matt Mahan said that the city’s police department does not cooperate with ICE in any way but was notified that the federal agency would be carrying out the enforcement operations. Santa Clara County is a sanctuary county and does not allow local law enforcement to honor ICE detainers, which ICE uses to gain custody of illegal aliens who’ve been charged with a crime and taken to jail.

Rap artist Snoop Dogg clapped back at critics who took issue with him performing at one of the celebratory events ahead of the inauguration of President Donald Trump last week. The 53-year-old entertainer, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., addressed his haters via a video uploaded to Instagram on Sunday. Snoop had performed at an event called the Crypto Ball in Washington, D.C., on January 18, which is why so many followers were reacting badly. Soulja Boy and Rick Ross also performed at the event. “For all the hate, I’m going to answer with love,” Snoop said in a video recorded in his car. “Y’all can’t hate enough; I love too much. Get your life right, stop worrying about mine. I’m cool, I’m together. Still a black man. Still 100% black. All out ’til you ball out, or ’til you fall out.” While the rapper had been critical of Trump during his first term as president, Snoop seems to have changed his mind in recent years. Critics couldn’t help but point out that the artist once pretended to shoot a clown dressed as Trump in 2017 in a music video for the song “Lavender.” He also voiced his disdain in the song “M.A.C.A (Make America Crip Again),” saying, “The president say he wants to Make America Great Again, f***- that s***.” Snoop called Trump a “f***ing weirdo” on X in 2020, saying, “if you voted for him, I have no problem with that, but if you’re still with him, f*** you.” But then in recent years, the rapper seems to have changed his mind. In 2021, Trump commuted the 25-to-life sentence of Michael Harris, co-founder of Death Row Records, for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. “That’s great work for the president and his team on the way out. They did some great work while they was in there,” Snoop said at the time. Then in 2024, Snoop showed his appreciation for Trump again. “Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me,” Snoop Dogg said, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.” Other mainstream artists have also come under fire for performing at Trump’s inauguration events, including “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood, Jewel, and Nelly. “I’m not political. I’m not out here trying to tell anybody who they should vote for,” Nelly said after performing at the inaugural ball. “But what I will say is that, I respect the office. This isn’t politics. The politics, for me, is over. He won! He’s the president.”

On Tuesday, Democrats in the GOP-led Senate blocked a bill that threatens to impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) after the organization issued arrest warrants against Israeli leaders last year. Forty-five Democrats opposed breaking the filibuster, resulting in a 54-45 vote that fell short of the 60-vote threshold needed to begin debate on the bill, which passed the GOP-controlled House earlier this month. 54-45:Democrats blocked the Senate from advancing a House-passed bill to sanction the International Criminal Court for issuing an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.60 votes were needed. All these Senate Democrats have done is… — Speaker Mike Johnson (@SpeakerJohnson) January 28, 2025 Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) reportedly criticized the ICC for how “their anti-Israel bias has taken over and become too much,” but also claimed the sanctions bill was “poorly drafted” and “deeply flawed.” The legislation would “impose sanctions with respect to the International Criminal Court engaged in any effort to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute any protected person of the United States and its allies.” Penalties listed in the bill would have the president implement restrictions on transactions of property and interests within the U.S., as well as visas, admission, or parole for anyone linked to offending ICC actions. Reps. Chip Roy (R-TX) and Brian Mast (R-FL) first unveiled the sanctions bill last May, citing reports indicating the ICC was prepared to issue arrest warrants against Israeli officials in response to the war in the Gaza Strip. The ICC later issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant — as well as Hamas terror group officials — a move that got bipartisan criticism in the U.S. In the last session of Congress, the House passed the legislation only for it to be ignored by the Democrat-led Senate amid opposition by President Joe Biden. The House passed the bill again for the new term. “Last year, I committed to putting this bill on the floor when Republicans were in the majority. Today, I’m following through on that promise,” Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) declared in a post to X. Thune also included a forward-looking warning to his post, saying, “While the ICC is targeting Israeli leaders today, it could easily set its sights on Americans – and American soldiers in particular – tomorrow.”

President Donald Trump on Tuesday invited Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to a February 4 meeting, making Netanyahu the first foreign leader invited to the White House under Trump’s second administration. Netanyahu’s visit comes as Trump works to negotiate for the release of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. So far, phase one of the ceasefire has been negotiated, with seven hostages released and 26 more set to be released. The fate of the remaining 64 hostages will be addressed in the later phases of the agreement. Trump has also reversed the Biden administration’s hold on 2,000-pound bombs being delivered to Israel. “A lot of things that were ordered and paid for by Israel, but have not been sent by Biden, are now on their way!” Trump posted on social media. Trump has put pressure on Egypt and Jordan to accept refugees from Gaza, which he describes as a “demolition site.”  “You’re talking about a million and a half people, and we just clean out that whole thing,” Trump said. “I don’t know, something has to happen, but it’s literally a demolition site right now. Almost everything’s demolished and people are dying there, so I’d rather get involved with some of the Arab nations and build housing in a different location where I think they could maybe live in peace for a change.” Leaders of both Egypt and Jordan have refused any such agreement.

John Rich joined the growing backlash against Marvel star Anthony Mackie after the actor slammed America, and said he won’t be taking his kids to see Mackie’s new “Captain America: Brave New World” Disney movie.
