Laura admitted to missing Lynch while celebrating his 79th birthday. The heartwarming photo featuring them both showed Laura listening to him intently with a child-like smile on her face. “Happy Birthday Tidbit. I will love and miss you every day for the rest of my life,” she wrote.

Laura Dern and David Lynch’s relationship
The creative partnership between Laura and Lynch spanned decades since Lynch cast a 17-year-old Laura in the 1986 mystery thriller Blue Velvet. They reunited for the 1990 film Wild at Heart, where Laura starred alongside Nicolas Cage. That same year, the duo collaborated on the avant-garde concert performance Industrial Symphony No. 1.

Lynch continued to tap into Laura’s talent, casting her in his experimental film Inland Empire in 2006 and later in the 2017 revival of his cult-favorite series Twin Peaks. The late icon often challenged her to take on roles that defy expectations, ensuring she avoided being typecast. One of his most memorable gestures came in 2006 when he campaigned for Laura to receive an Oscar nomination for her performance in Inland Empire.
