Randy Travis Releases Heartfelt New Single “Horses In Heaven”
Randy Travis has done it again, releasing another stellar single with the help of AI.
Last year, Randy Travis surprised the country music community when he announced his first single in over a decade, “Where That Came From.” Given Travis's stroke in 2013, which left him with aphasia, many thought the possibility of the "Forever and Ever, Amen" singer creating new music was out of the question. However, with developments in AI, that thought turned into a reality.

While AI certainly has its cons, and many musicians are concerned it could replace them fully or the scary thought of someone using AI to make money off their vocals without their knowledge. This is an example where AI is being used give new life to a country music icon... at at the end of the day, it utilizes recordings of Randy's voice to digitally recreate it. Randy himself was heavily involved in the creative process of making his first single and is doing it again for his latest single, "Horses In Heaven."
When Travis announced the single, he told fans "Where That Came From" was just the beginning. He's excited about the future and about continuing to release new music.
When I began my recovery almost 12 years ago, many things changed, but one thing stayed the same – my desire to share new music and create new memories. I’m grateful to have the opportunity to continue doing that thanks to family, friends, fans, and God’s grace."

Randy Travis beautifully dedicated his new single to the gentle giants that so many of us love... horses.
But more importantly, given the tragedies that have unfolded in the past couple days, Randy Travis shared a statement before the song's release, noting that even though it does not feel right to release it with the tragic news of Warner Chappell Nashville's CEO and President's death and the horrific plane crash in D.C., he feels like this single might help some hurting souls.
"This has been an incredibly hard 24 hours. Last night, many souls were lost in the horrific plane crash in Washington, D.C., and this morning, we lost a dear member of our country music and Warner Music family, publishing giant Ben Vaughn. My prayers are with all of the people affected by these losses, including members of our team.
Tomorrow’s song release, 'Horses In Heaven,' feels like a timely reminder of God’s love and mercy and I hope it brings some comfort to those of us hurting through these tragedies. We have decided to continue with this release and promotion of it, but felt remiss to not share what’s on my heart right now... God Bless Ben, the victims of last night’s crash and all who are feeling the heaviness of this moment."

As a horse owner, this song called my name after hearing the first snippet. It's about time we got a song about how special these animals are. Don't get me wrong, I am also here for all the songs about man's best friend and how all dogs also go to heaven, but Travis' take on "Horses In Heaven" is the perfect homage to a cowboy and cowgirl's best friend.
Given Travis is a man of God, he carries religious beliefs throughout the tune, preaching through the lyrics that there are horses in heaven and God is a cowboy sporting a big ole Stetson hat. He suggests heaven is a peaceful version of the Wild West, and he depicts horses as angels watching over us as they ride with golden saddles.

This song is one that any horse lover will fall head over heels in love with. The lyrics beautifully detail what any cowboy or cowgirl hopes the afterlife looks like with their heart horse there to live peacefully forever with them.
I sure hope Randy Travis is right that there are "Horses In Heaven."
