JD Vance Tries to Confront Kamala Harris on Wisconsin Tarmac, Inspects ‘Future Plane’ Instead

"Hopefully, it’s gonna be my plane in a few months," Vance quipped to reporters, adding that he wanted to ask Harris why she avoids answering questions from the press. "I thought you guys might be lonely because the vice president doesn’t answer questions from reporters," he remarked, taking a jab at Harris's media strategy.
Harris and Walz are currently touring battleground states, with a packed schedule of rallies aimed at boosting their campaign. In contrast, Vance's campaign has been characterized by smaller events, which he addressed during his remarks. "I’m glad to be here in Wisconsin, actually trying to persuade people to vote for us as opposed to just giving another scripted speech," he said.

The Harris campaign dismissed Vance’s actions as “weird,” with Ammar Moussa, the campaign’s director of rapid response, tweeting about Vance’s unusual behavior. "Okay just to clarify: JD Vance is flying around the country following Vice President Harris," Moussa wrote, suggesting Vance’s actions were more about seeking attention than engaging in substantive political discourse.
Vance’s impromptu press conference touched on his views about Harris’s campaign style, criticizing her for what he perceives as running a campaign "from a basement with a teleprompter." He expressed hope that Harris would start engaging more directly with the media and the public.
