A member of the French Parliament for the radical-left France Unbowed (LFI) party has sparked outrage over the weekend after saying Israeli athletes are not welcome at the Paris Olympics and calling for protests against their presence.

Virginia’s capital city this week voted to give Planned Parenthood a $1.2 million property for use as an abortion clinic. Critics say the city’s gift of the property—which is situated just steps away from a middle school—could violate its own rules. The Richmond City Council on Monday agreed to sell the acre of land, which holds an abandoned public school building, to the Virginia League of Planned Parenthood for just $10. But as the Founding Freedoms Law Center’s Josh Hetzler observed in a July 19 letter to Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney (D.), the city council did not follow the process for land sales outlined in Richmond City Code Section 8-58. That section states that the council must first vote to declare the property in question “surplus,” and then entertain competing bids. As the council did neither of those things, the Planned Parenthood deal was “unlawful,” Hetzler says. The law only allows the city to give away property in this manner if it was blighted, Hetzler added. “The property, however, has not been designated as ‘blighted’ in any sense. Therefore, the City has no authority whatsoever to sell the property to anyone for a nominal sum,” he said. Marty Jewell, a former city council member, says the Planned Parenthood sale also violates a rule stipulating that surplus property should be sold to support local schools. “You’re giving away a building for $10? This makes no sense,” he told the council Monday night. The council claimed it received an “unsolicited offer” from the Virginia League of Planned Parenthood for the property. But according to Hetzler, Planned Parenthood suggested that “Mayor Stoney’s administration worked with us to identify property.” Stoney is widely seen as a potential gubernatorial hopeful. Just 10 citizens spoke out in favor of the Planned Parenthood sale at Monday’s council meeting, while 40 opposed the deal. The council voted to approve the sale, anyway.  Hetzler was among those who spoke at the meeting. “You will likely be sued over this,” he warned the council. “Save the city the expense and time and embarrassment, and go through the process as you should by law.” One opponent noted that Richmond already has five abortion clinics, while another objected to the planned facility’s proximity to local schools. “In front of that park is going to be an 11,000 square foot abortion clinic,” she said. “I find it jarring that a clinic such of this is being opened not only in close proximity to my home, but where so many children go to school,” said a third resident, who is 39 weeks pregnant. Another speaker proposed that the council “put forth a resolution in honor of the mayor and city council’s commitment to child sacrifice.” Supporters of the sale included a woman wearing a COVID mask who boasted that she had received an abortion from Planned Parenthood. But even she conceded that the sale price was shockingly low. “Planned Parenthood could probably afford to pay a good deal more,” she said. “By all means, charge for the land.”

The coronation is complete: Kamala Harris will be the Democratic presidential nominee. Harris ran one of the worst presidential races in history back in 2019 and 2020. In fact, she dropped out before she even received a single vote in the primaries. Then, she became vice president because Joe Biden needed a black woman on the ticket. And she was terrible and her approval rating was in the low thirties. Now, because Democrats have no other place to turn, she’s consolidated her support to officially become the Democratic nominee for president of the United States. Biden has been forced out. It’s probably smart of Biden to drop at this point, given the fact that he was almost certainly going to lose to Donald Trump in November. Now, he can at least wash his hands of the election; he’s not going to be blamed for the loss. There might be some retrospective blame cast upon him if Harris ends up losing for two reasons: He picked her as vice president, and he did not get out of the way earlier to allow for a serious democratic process. Given the fact there is no democratic process and that Democrats at the party elite level have decided to simply force Harris into place, Biden is now out of the way. He is no longer the story — other than that he’s no longer the nominee and he’s still president of the United States. Within 48 hours of Biden dropping out of the race, Harris became the nominee, which suggests this was all preplanned and the reported heartburn and angst we’ve been hearing from the Democratic Party was overwrought, considering that not only did they have the support lined up for Harris, but they were also ready to go with these giant money bombs almost immediately. According to Politico Playbook, a Democratic super PAC “received $150 million in new commitments from major Democratic donors in the 24 hours since the president announced he would step aside from the race.” WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show Hundreds of millions of dollars came into play almost immediately, which suggests that this was all preplanned. This thing clicked into place far too fast for it to have been spontaneous in any way, shape, or form. According to Politico: Within hours of President Joe Biden’s bombshell news Sunday that he would not run for reelection, tens of thousands of Black women across the country — including many in New York — launched an ambitious organizing effort for Vice President Kamala Harris. Tens of thousands of participants joined the call, raising $1.5 million, according to a social media post and a participant granted anonymity to share details about what was meant to be an off-record gathering. And they provided strategy memos and talking points as they coalesce behind a candidate who would be the nation’s first female president. “We need to defend our sister everywhere,” read the meeting notes obtained by POLITICO. “It is a ‘thing’ to have MAGA world chasing you.” Organizers behind the memo urged anyone reading it to “pick at least one section or a part of a section of Project 2025 to read and become a subject matter expert in order to be armed w/ info & to support the effort that way.” Project 2025 is an expansive policy document written with input from former advisers of Donald Trump — the Republican candidate and his team have sought to distance themselves from it while Democrats dial up their warnings about what’s in it. The idea that the Democrats are going to be able to run on Project 2025 is absolutely ridiculous. I’m always amazed by the level of tribal racialism that one is able to express so long as it is intersectional in nature. If this were Win with White Men, that would obviously not be acceptable in America’s body politic. But, apparently, a group called Win with Black Women is totally fine. As it turns out, Letitia James, the corrupt attorney general of New York, has been working to gather the support of black attorneys general for Harris. Again, just tribal racialism. She announced Sunday that she and the five other black state attorneys general in the United States from Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Nevada will be part of a coalition working to back up Kamala Harris. This is the kind of campaign Harris is going to run. She is going to run an extremely intersectional campaign, a black female campaign. She’s going to run the Barack Obama 2012 playbook. The problem is Barack Obama’s 2012 playbook came on the back of Obama winning a huge election victory in 2008. You can run the intersectional playbook, but only if you win your first election by a huge margin. Democrats did not win the 2020 election by a huge margin. They actually won by an incredibly slim victory in a historically skewed election based on extraordinarily high levels of voter turnout, which was based on a change in the rules during COVID. So, they’re going to run a campaign from 2012. It is amazing to me that, instead of looking at the 2008 Barack Obama campaign, which was a huge victory, Democrats look at 2012 as the model for what they should do going forward, despite the fact Obama lost three million absolute votes between 2008 and 2012. Harris is not only a weak candidate, but her chief vulnerability is that she’s the vice president of a wildly unpopular administration. This administration does not have a list of accomplishments Americans like. It is additionally amazing to watch all these people coming out of the woodwork to declare Biden has been an amazing president. The truth is that he is a crappy president and Harris is his crappy vice president, which means she is a weak candidate. On Monday night, Harris said, “Joe Biden’s legacy of accomplishment over the past three years is unmatched in modern history. … In one term, he has already surpassed the legacy of most presidents who have served two terms in office.” Biden’s accomplishments are burning the Middle East to a crisp, lighting Ukraine on fire, destroying the economy via inflation, and destroying any possibility of building the social fabric because of his radical social policy. What is Harris’ campaign against Donald Trump going to be? She says that she’s going to prosecute Trump. This is all she’s got? Democrats have been trying this crap since 2015. Since 2015, the idea has been “Donald Trump is an out-of-the-box criminal and we are going to prosecute the case against Donald Trump.” Good luck with that.

House Speaker Mike Johnson is warning anyone who disrupts Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Wednesday address to Congress that they will be arrested. In a letter to lawmakers, Johnson emphasized congressional decorum rules and said there is a “zero-tolerance” policy for disruptions from members’ guests.  “If any disturbance does occur, the Sergeant at Arms and Capitol Police will remove the offending visitor(s) from the gallery and subject them to arrest,” Johnson wrote. Vice President Kamala Harris, now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, will not preside over Netanyahu’s speech, opting instead to attend an event for the historically-black Zeta Phi Beta sorority, the Times of Israel reported. Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Ben Cardin will preside over the joint session instead. House Speaker Mike Johnson accused Harris of “abandoning her seat” and called her absence “inexcusable.” Nearly 60 Democrats skipped Netanyahu’s last address to Congress, a 2015 speech on Iran. More lawmakers are expected to skip Wednesday’s speech in light of the war in Gaza, the Associated Press reports. Hundreds of anti-Israel protesters gathered inside the Capitol’s Cannon building on Tuesday, causing staff and interns to barricade themselves in their offices, Fox News reported. Several demonstrators were arrested.  Johnson said that there will be an increased police presence around the Capitol complex and the House Chamber.  Netanyahu is slated to speak at 2:00 p.m. EST.

The Black Lives Matter Organization has rejected the apparent anointment of Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic presidential nominee. In a tweet, the organization first listed the series of events leading up to the likely nomination of Harris, then proceeded to harshly criticize the route the Democratic Party had taken to ensure her nomination, deciding to nominate her although she had won no delegates in the primaries. “A 24-hour process of talking to party bosses is not democratic, nor is it a process Democrats should be proud of,” BLM tweeted. “We do not live in a dictatorship. Delegates are not oligarchs. Installing Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee and an unknown vice president without any public voting process would make the modern Democratic Party a party of hypocrites. It’s a philosophy that I learned really early on in my organizing career.” Cullors has said of herself and Garza, “We are trained Marxists.” BLM deleted a page from its website that had propounded a theory that would fit well within a Marxist philosophy, stating, “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.”
