On Monday, a confirmed MS-13 member who had previously been deported from the United States seven different times reportedly led police on a manhunt in Colony Ridge, the Texas development that’s become infamous for attracting illegal aliens, after he allegedly stabbed and killed a man. Luis Miguel Perez, 34, was ultimately captured in Colony Ridge after a seven-hour pursuit, according to Bluebonnet News. Perez allegedly stabbed and killed an unidentified man inside the development after a verbal altercation turned physical. The successful search came the same day Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott announced that the Texas Department of Public Safety was working with border czar Tom Homan and the Department of Homeland Security to target criminals and illegal aliens inside Colony Ridge. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deployed drones and K-9 units during the search. Perez was finally caught after he approached a woman’s home and asked her for water and a ride. The woman gave him water and Gatorade before suggesting that he go to the home of a neighbor who spoke Spanish. She then reported him to authorities, who found Perez at the neighbor’s home. The family was safely evacuated, and law enforcement successfully captured the illegal alien. Colony Ridge is a 60-square-mile development located just north of Houston. The Daily Wire has reported that it implements financial and marketing schemes to systematically attract illegal aliens. The development lures illegal alien buyers by advertising that they do not need to provide a social security number as it encourages them to “own land in the United States.” Perez is far from the only criminal illegal alien that has been caught in Colony Ridge, including multiple murder suspects wanted by the International Police, a Guatemalan human smuggler tied to a “mass casualty event,” and most recently, a previously deported illegal alien caught with 344 pounds of meth inside his trailer. Another illegal alien recently admitted to murdering a woman in Colony Ridge after luring her away from her workplace under false premises. He also worked alongside two individuals whose immigration status is unknown. The development now faces lawsuits from the Department of Justice and the Texas Attorney General and an investigation from the Environmental Protection Agency.

A man who lives in Ashland City, Tennessee, was arrested last week for allegedly saying he wanted to “burn down” the xAI supercomputer facility in Memphis because he “was very upset with Elon Musk and Donald Trump,” according to authorities. Last Thursday, Ashland City police were contacted after friends and co-workers of 25-year-old Ethan Early, a Nashville EMT, expressed concern “about some things that he was saying regarding the politics,” Ashland City Police Department Sergeant Alexis Duncan said, according to WKRN. Early was placed in the Cheatham County Jail and charged with an act of terrorism. According to the arrest affidavit, Early told a friend that “he was going to burn down one of Elon Musk’s data centers using Thermite,” WKRN reported. The 25-year-old had also allegedly purchased components to make thermite, a pyrotechnic mixture of metal powder and metal oxide that can be used to make incendiary bombs. The xAI facility in Memphis holds the largest artificial intelligence (AI) supercomputer in the world, according to VentureBeat. The supercomputer, named Colossus, is mostly powered by Nvidia processing chips and used for storage and networking to train and power Musk’s AI chatbot, Grok. Early allegedly told police that he had become “too wrapped up in politics” and that his friends ultimately talked him out of going through with the act of terrorism. He added that he was ashamed he had gotten “so carried away,” according to the affidavit. Ashland City authorities said that the components to make thermite were thrown into a dumpster last week, adding that they pose no risk since the chemicals were never combined. Musk, Trump’s most powerful and public adviser, has been criticized by Democrats and the legacy media over his influence on the Trump administration and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team seeking to drastically slash government spending. Gail Slater, President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division, is finally expected to be confirmed by the United States Senate in the coming days. From her work on the Senate staff of Vice President JD Vance to her pro-consumer bent, she’s proven she’ll be prudent and effective. In her recent confirmation hearing, Slater made it clear that she will bring the DOJ back to its evidence-based approach of targeting companies that have truly harmed competition rather than those who are merely scapegoated for macroeconomic conditions. Adherence to the facts and the law will improve antitrust enforcement, allowing the department’s staff to focus their talents where they belong — on cheaters. I believe in strong antitrust enforcement. As a lawmaker, I often joined bipartisan coalitions to encourage it when warranted. That legitimate enforcement of antitrust laws is impaired when overreach becomes the rage. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened under the Biden-Harris administration. For example, as Fox News recently highlighted, the Biden DOJ recently went after Visa’s debit card network. Are we really supposed to believe that not enough companies are competing in the debit card space? With tokenization and decentralized finance tools spreading like Georgia Kudzu, actions like this strain credibility. More likely, the Biden-Harris administration needed to deflect blame for inflation, so Visa became a political “whipping boy.” The Biden DOJ also sued property management software, blaming them for higher housing costs. Why blame supply chain issues, restrictive zoning laws, and high regulatory costs when you can just blame the software that told the American people about the rising costs of Biden’s economy, I guess? Gail Slater can fix it. In her confirmation hearing, she said she will prioritize “surgical enforcement” over reckless attacks on innovative businesses. Instead of wielding antitrust law as a blunt instrument to reshape entire industries like the Biden Antitrust Division did, she will deploy it only as a “precision tool”—intervening only where there is clear, demonstrable evidence of consumer harm. And in those cases, Gail Slater will be a warrior for consumers. By removing so many false positive cases off the Antitrust Division docket, Slater will have significantly more time to devote to the most pressing threats to free speech and collusive corporate behavior, of which there remain plenty. For example, Slater stated in her confirmation hearing that she will pay significant attention to Google. This is great news for the conservatives who have long argued that the company, as the dominant force in online search and digital advertising, has used its power to marginalize conservative perspectives, including by manipulating search algorithms, demonetizing conservative content on YouTube, and restricting access to conservative news outlets. Google could likely resolve many of these concerns by remediating the censorship it has allowed. Of course, putting the One America News Network on YouTubeTV would be a great start! Another area of enforcement that Slater highlighted as a prime example of antitrust violations deserving DOJ scrutiny is the issue of group boycotts against conservative businesses. We’ve seen the coordinated exclusion of conservative media outlets from advertising platforms through entities like the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) and NewsGuard. We’ve also seen financial institutions denying services to firearm manufacturers and faith-based organization. It is clear that when dominant players in an industry collude to exclude or financially strangle disfavored businesses, competition is not just distorted — it is intentionally sabotaged. This represents precisely the kind of collusive conduct that antitrust law was designed to address — and Slater’s DOJ will make sure these cases are treated with the seriousness they deserve. As you can see, Slater’s strategy is not to avoid enforcement — it’s to make enforcement more effective. By concentrating on cases of monopolization and exclusionary practices, the DOJ can achieve more successes and stronger legal outcomes. This kind of focused enforcement incentivizes better behavior and compliance from industry, too. When businesses know that the DOJ will act decisively where real harm exists, they are more likely to be better corporate citizens with consumer protection top of mind. This is the antitrust policy America needs — one that fosters innovation, consumer choice, and economic growth while holding genuinely bad actors accountable. A male sex offender who last year began claiming he identified as transgender told police that his “civil rights” allow him to use bathrooms that correspond with his gender identity. Richard Cox, 58, is currently facing 22 charges in Arlington County, Virginia, after he allegedly exposed himself to women and children in two different women’s locker rooms. When questioned by police, Cox, who is on the registered sex offender list for exposing his genitals to women and children in public places, insisted his “civil rights as a transgender person” allowed him to be in women’s spaces, WJLA reported last week. “My understanding of the sex offender registry, cuz I understand that they’re concerned about my history and that’s the reason they’re banning me, and my understanding of the sex offender registry – is it is a tool to be used to prevent any sort of future criminal offenses,” Cox said in police body cam footage of the encounter, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request from WJLA. “Now, my civil rights as a transgender person allows me to use a public facility including the restrooms or changing rooms that identify with my gender and you can see on my ID that I’m recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia as female. So, exercising my civil rights is not a criminal offense,” Cox is heard saying on the police body camera video. The footage is from November in Fairfax County, when a supervisor with the county parks called the police on Cox after he allegedly visited several facilities and exposed himself in the women’s locker room. As The Daily Wire previously reported, Cox was convicted of taking indecent liberties with children in Arlington in 1992. The charges stemmed from an incident during which Cox masturbated in front of children in a gymnasium. In letters he wrote after the conviction obtained by WJLA, Cox acknowledged that he has “compulsions to expose myself in public places.” Last year, Cox’s sex was listed as male in court documents but is now listed as female. In June 2024, he was charged with indecent exposure for allegedly exposing his genitals in the women’s locker room of a Planet Fitness gym, but that charge was dismissed for unknown reasons. “Nudity alone is not indecent, or we could not have public locker rooms at all,” Cox wrote in a motion to dismiss the charge against him. “And the question of whether it is indecent for a transgender person to be nude in the locker room that they identify with has also been answered by our courts, our legislatures, and public opinion, and the answer is, No. So whatever it is that my accuser calls ‘indecent,’ other than the anti-trans discrimination that she harbors in her own mind, it has not been and cannot be proven to the court.” Cox’s current charges stem from multiple incidents. He was arrested at a fitness center on December 6 for trespassing and providing a false identity, Fox 5 DC reported. He also faces charges of indecent exposure and indecent liberties with children after he allegedly exposed his genitals in the women’s locker room at this fitness center on November 30 and December 2. Cox allegedly exposed his genitals when an adult and two children were present. Some of his current charges also stem from an incident on October 21, 2024, when an unnamed victim entered the girls’ locker room and saw him allegedly exposing his genitals.
