The number of human beings living in freezers in the United States now outnumbers the population of Dallas, Texas. “Estimates place the number of frozen embryos at greater than 1.5 million,” reported the March 2022 edition of Fertility and Sterility, a journal published by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. According to the latest Census Bureau estimate, Dallas had a population of 1,302,868 in 2023. How did all these human beings—conceived in the United States of America—end up locked in freezers? The ASRM has published a booklet explaining in vitro fertilization and why it results in human beings being frozen. “IVF is a method of assisted reproduction in which a man’s sperm and a woman’s eggs are combined outside of the body in a laboratory dish,” says the ASRM booklet. “One or more fertilized eggs (embryos) may be transferred into the women’s uterus, where they may implant in the uterine lining and develop,” it says. “Excess embryos may be cryopreserved (frozen) for future use.” These embryos created outside the womb for implantation in a mother—or for freezing—can undergo genetic testing before their fate is determined. “Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is a form of prenatal diagnosis that is performed on early embryos created by in vitro fertilization,” explains an article published in 2014 by the Journal of Clinical Medicine. This procedure can be used for eugenic purposes. “It is solely a diagnostic procedure that can identify whether a specific embryo carries a single gene disorder for which the couple is at-risk or a chromosome abnormality that could lead to either failed implantation, subsequent miscarriage, or the birth of a child with physical and/or developmental disability,” the journal article says. “This information is used by the couple and their physicians to make decisions on which embryo(s) should be transferred to the uterus and will with high likelihood result in a normal pregnancy,” it says. “The greater the number of embryos created, the greater the chance that genetically normal embryos can be identified,” says the journal article. “The level of selection is that of choosing which embryos can be transferred in a fresh IVF cycle or cryopreserved for future use, versus those predicted to be affected with an abnormality.” The procedure can also be used to select the sex of the human being who is allowed to move forward in life rather than move to a freezer. “PGD can be used to select the sex of an embryo, either to avoid a genetic disease in males caused by a mutation on the X chromosome (X-linked disease) or simply to satisfy the gender preference of the future parents,” explains the article in the Journal of Clinical Medicine. “When PGD for sex selection is done in the absence of medical indications, it is often referred to as ‘non-medical sex selection’ or ‘social sexing,’” says the journal. “According to the survey, 42% of IVF clinics have provided PGD for non-medical sex selection.” The Daily Mail reported in 2012 that in Great Britain, as of that year, “[m]ore than 1.7 million embryos prepared with the aim of helping women become pregnant have been thrown away since records began 21 years ago.” It is not science fiction to assume that medical science will someday—and, perhaps, in the not-too-distant future—develop the technology to not only conceive a child in a laboratory dish but then gestate those who are deemed genetically desirable all the way to viability in an artificial womb. In a nation that ignores the natural law, the procreation of children could be completely divorced from the traditional family. On Feb. 18, President Donald Trump issued an executive order to promote IVF. “[I]t is the policy of my Administration to ensure reliable access to IVF treatment, including by easing unnecessary statutory or regulatory burdens to make IVF treatment drastically more affordable,” he said in this order. “Within 90 days of the date of this order,” he said, “the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy shall submit to the President a list of policy recommendations on protecting IVF access and aggressively reducing out-of-pocket and health plan costs for IVF treatment.” This executive order said nothing about preventing IVF from being used for sex selection or eugenics. Nor did it say anything about preventing human embryos from being discarded or stored away in freezers. The Declaration of Independence said that “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” IVF, which does not treat human lives equally and does not respect every human being’s right to life, violates this principle. A variety of fundamental issues impacted the result of November’s presidential election, but one of the most pronounced factors was public safety. Crime has spiked in many regions of the U.S. over the past several years, with the policies of Biden the administration, leftist elected leaders, and soft-on-crime prosecutors exacerbating the situation at every turn. Now that President Donald Trump is back in the White House, however, some of those leftists are beginning to reconsider their party’s stance on criminal justice. Rahm Emanuel, who served as Chicago’s mayor prior to taking on the role of Barack Obama’s first White House chief of staff, weighed in on the ramifications of such “permissiveness” during a recent appearance on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.” As Breitbart reported, he offered a candid assessment of the situation in response to the host’s question about current Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s abysmally low approval rating: “Look, this is — we were talking about this a little earlier, you have also the mayor of New York not doing well, obviously, other things also here in Los Angeles, not doing well, the mayor here. Look, — and then you’ve got mayors, like the mayor of San Francisco and other cities that are doing well. So, I would say, look, there is a general rule. I had this when I was mayor: Safe streets, strong schools, stable finances, focus on those three things and your city’s going to be fine. We’ve gone through five years where people became way too permissive as a culture, they were all — which is why everything’s locked up at Walgreens and CVS. And that is a disaster. According to a September 2023 NPR interview between host Steve Inskeep and Retail Industry Leaders Association Vice President Khris Hamlin: HAMLIN: It absolutely is. You know, when – right now, we’re seeing a wave of this activity. And, you know, it kind of stems back to the penalties that sit around us. That makes retailers a target for this activity because of the leniency when it comes to the penalties that these individuals will face if apprehended. INSKEEP: Is that any different than it used to be? HAMLIN: You know, I got to say, you know, when you look at this, things have become very easy for individuals to be able to take their stolen goods and to be able to resell them. And I think that the opportunity to be able to turn around those goods on marketplaces is what’s making it much more easier – or much more a target for retailers and much more easier for these individuals to think that it’s, you know, an easy way to be able to make a quick dollar out there. INSKEEP: So you think the incentives have changed somewhat. But why is it getting so bad that some retailers would just say, listen, I’m not doing this particular location at all; I’m out of here? HAMLIN: Very good question. You know, when you think about what the retailers have to keep in mind is the safety of their employees, the safety of their consumers and their ability to maintain that safe shopping and working environment. And so retailers are faced with that tough question. You know, do we continue to serve this community, or do we protect our employees and protect the good actors, the good consumers that are coming out into the marketplaces? After years of the Biden administration’s open-borders policies ushered in countless migrants in open violation of U.S. immigration law, President Donald Trump returned to the White House with a mandate to retake control of the nation’s borders. The illegal flow of migrants began to slow substantially in anticipation of Trump’s inauguration, and in the weeks since then those border-crossings have dropped to a small fraction of the number reported just a few months ago. Bringing attention to his administration’s success, Trump took to social media to declare a ceremonial victory in the war against illegal immigration. As Breitbart reported: “The Invasion of our Country is OVER,” Trump posted on his TruthSocial account, adding: The month of February, my first full month in Office, had the LOWEST number of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter our Country in History – BY FAR! There were only 8,326 apprehensions of Illegals by Border Patrol at the U.S. – Mexico Border, all of whom were quickly ejected from our Nation or, when necessary, prosecuted for crimes against the United States of America. This means that very few people came – The Invasion of our Country is OVER. In December, which was Biden’s last full month in office, 124,000 migrants were caught or arrested at U.S. borders. That 2024 number was down from 373,883 in December 2023when Biden’s deputies were spending heavily to rush in migrants from around the world. Trump continued: In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the Border is CLOSED to all Illegal Immigrants. The mobilization includes the U.S. military, which has stationed troops at the U.S.-Mexico border and uses military aircraft to deport undocumented migrants. Trump earlier declared illegal border crossings a national security priority, which enables the military to become an active partner in border enforcement. The Department of Defense on Saturday announced the deployment of an armored Stryker brigade combat team and a general-support aviation battalion to reinforce and expand current border security operations. The forces are 2,400 soldiers from Fort Carson in Colorado and around 500 service members from Fort Stewart in Georgia, CNN reported. They will arrive in the coming weeks and affirms the DOD’s “unwavering dedication to working alongside the Department of Homeland Security to secure our southern border and maintain the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of the United States,” the DOD announcement said. Immigration enforcement also increased greatly in February. DHS Secretary Kristi Noem on Wednesday announced the arrests of more than 20,000 migrants who illegally were in the United States in February. National Public Radio host Steve Inskeep spoke to the congresswoman, who won office initially during Trump’s first term, about where she and her party stand now. “To what extent is immigration, as an issue, part of your problem with working-class voters?” he asked. “I guess my question would be, what does the word ‘problem’ mean?” Ocasio-Cortez replied. “People voting for the other side and not for you,” Inskeep clarified. “I think that we have a problem on immigration because of the lack of progress that we’ve had on this issue, and as we know, Republicans weaponize that lack of progress,” AOC replied. She then referred to the purportedly bipartisan bill that Republicans have argued was “never designed to solve the problem.” “It is a problem not just for Democrats, it’s a problem for the entire country that Republicans do not want to solve,” Ocasio-Cortez argued. As The Hill reported last year, more than a dozen Democratic lawmakers supported a resolution denouncing the Biden administration’s approach to the border: It additionally says Biden “purposely violated United States immigration law,” and has operated an “open borders agenda.” The resolution passed the House in a 226-193 vote, with 13 members not participating. A total of 14 Democrats voted to pass the measure. The vote sends a message to the Biden administration as moderate Democrats increase pressure on the president to consider more strict border controls amid Congressional negotiations on border security that have come to a standstill. President Biden backed a bipartisan Senate bill last month that included extensive border security reforms, but the bill was rejected by House Republicans as too weak.
