IRS Makes HUGE Ruling On Church Endorsements

The IRS finally did something right. In a new court filing, the IRS has stated that churches can now endorse political candidates to their congregations. The move by the IRS came after President Trump repeatedly called for the Johnson Amendment to be repealed. In case you’re unfamiliar with the Johnson Amendment, it’s “a provision in the U.S. tax code that prohibits 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations, such as charities and churches, from endorsing or opposing political candidates.” The New York Times had these details to report on the IRS’s decision: The I.R.S. said on Monday that churches and other houses of worship can endorse political candidates to their congregations, carving out an exemption in a decades-old ban on political activity by tax-exempt nonprofits. The agency made that statement in a court filing intended to settle a lawsuit filed by two Texas churches and an association of Christian broadcasters. The plaintiffs that sued the I.R.S. had previously asked a federal court in Texas to create an even broader exemption — to rule that all nonprofits, religious and secular, were free to endorse candidates to their members. That would have erased a bedrock idea of American nonprofit law: that tax-exempt groups cannot be used as tools of any campaign. Instead, the I.R.S. agreed to a narrower carveout — one that experts in nonprofit law said might sharply increase politicking in churches, even though it mainly seemed to formalize what already seemed to be the agency’s unspoken policy. The agency said that if a house of worship endorsed a candidate to its congregants, the I.R.S. would view that not as campaigning but as a private matter, like “a family discussion concerning candidates.” “Thus, communications from a house of worship to its congregation in connection with religious services through its usual channels of communication on matters of faith do not run afoul of the Johnson Amendment as properly interpreted,” the agency said, in a motion filed jointly with the plaintiffs. The IRS says it will not remove your church’s 501c3 over candidate endorsements from the pulpit.https://t.co/bvjM5i9QsB — Jon Whitehead (@jrwhitehead) July 8, 2025 CBS reported on Trump’s previous comments on the Johnson Amendment: President Trump has said he wanted to get rid of the Johnson Amendment and signed an executive order in 2017 directing Treasury to disregard the rule. “I will get rid of and totally destroy the Johnson Amendment and allow our representatives of faith to speak freely and without fear of retribution,” Trump said at a National Prayer Breakfast in 2017, which is a high-profile event bringing together faith leaders, politicians and dignitaries. Earlier this year, Republican lawmakers introduced legislation to scrap the Johnson Amendment. Watch Trump here: PRESIDENT TRUMP: I think it’s just an incredible job that you do. And sometimes you’re not appreciated by the Fake News Media. Sometimes you’re scorned by the Fake News Media… We’re going to try to get rid of the Johnson Amendment permanently so that you have a voice. pic.twitter.com/y5vbFpNonG — Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) October 28, 2024 And again: SHOTS FIRED!TRUMP: “I will get rid of and TOTALLY DESTROY the Johnson Amendment” pic.twitter.com/J4QfNixkQs — TrumpSoldier (@DaveNYviii) February 2, 2017

Governor Gavin Newsom’s Latest Move Shows He’s Eyeing A 2028 Presidential Run

Governor Gavin Newsom’s Latest Move Shows He’s Eyeing A 2028 Presidential Run

Democrat Governor of California Gavin Newsom has not officially announced he’s running for president in 2028, but for the last several months, he’s been making moves that hint he’s interested in making a run. His latest move continues that trend. The South Carolina Democratic Party has announced that Newsom will make a two-day trip to the state to speak with voters. Newsom’s trip is quite strategic, considering South Carolina is where the Democratic primaries begin. Politico had these details to report on Newsom’s trip to South Carolina: California Gov. Gavin Newsom will meet with voters across South Carolina in a two-day trip through the state next week, further fueling speculation that the Democratic governor is preparing for a 2028 presidential run. The South Carolina Democratic Party — which announced the trip Thursday — is marketing the series of meet-and-greets as an opportunity for the governor to meet with communities impacted by natural disasters and “speak to the urgent need for federal support and investment” in the wake of Hurricane Helene and the Los Angeles wildfires. Newsom traveled to the state in January 2024 to stump for former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris in the run-up to the presidential election. He received a lukewarm reception from some voters skeptical of his liberal reputation, POLITICO reported at the time. The state has held a key role in recent nominating contests as the first state in the South to vote. The Democratic National Committee — under Biden — elevated it to be the first sanctioned primary contest in 2024, and the state is fighting to hold onto its favored status in the presidential selection process. “For two days, Governor Newsom will listen to local concerns, share proven solutions on jobs, health care, and rural infrastructure, and spotlight South Carolinians who are already driving progress in their hometowns,” the SCDP said in a press release. Yeah, folks, it’s happening. pic.twitter.com/4p71fPjF8s — Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) July 7, 2025 Last month, Newsom challenged Vice President JD Vance to a debate just hours after Vance visited California. Take a look: Hey @JDVance — nice of you to finally make it out to California. Since you’re so eager to talk about me, how about saying it to my face? Let’s debate. Time and place? — Gavin Newsom (@GavinNewsom) June 20, 2025 Fox News had more details to share on the callout: California Gov. Gavin Newsom challenged Vice President JD Vance to face off in a debate. “Hey @JDVance — nice of you to finally make it out to California. Since you’re so eager to talk about me, how about saying it to my face? Let’s debate. Time and place?” the Democratic governor said in a Friday post on his @GavinNewsom X account. So far, the vice president has not replied on the social media platform to Newsom’s challenge. The vice president lambasted the Golden State governor and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass while delivering remarks in Los Angeles on Friday. Vance said that the governor “is endangering law enforcement,” adding, “The law enforcement officials themselves tell me as much.” Newsom communications director Izzy Gardon pushed back, calling Vance “a liar” in an email to Fox News Digital on Saturday. “Jose Vance is a liar. The Vice President’s claim is categorically false. There is no evidence to support his made-up claim — and we challenge him to produce any. The Governor has consistently condemned violence, including against law enforcement officers, and has made his stance clear over and over again. Here are at least a dozen examples,” Gardon wrote, providing a list of more than a dozen links to posts on the @CAgovernor X account. One of the posts reads, “Los Angeles: don’t take Trump’s bait. Trump wants chaos and he’s instigated violence. Those who assault law enforcement or cause property damage will risk arrest. Stay peaceful. Stay focused. Don’t give him the excuse he’s looking for.”

Federal Magistrate Says Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan Is NOT Entitled to Judicial Immunity For Obstructing ICE

Federal Magistrate Says Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan Is NOT Entitled to Judicial Immunity For Obstructing ICE

In a blow to Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan’s effort to get her case dismissed, a federal magistrate has just said she is not entitled to judicial immunity for obstructing ICE agents. Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph is recommending that Dugan’s case proceed to trial and that her motion to dismiss be denied. Take a look: Judge Dugan Update: Magistrate Judge recommends that case proceeds to trial, Dugan does not have immunity, and her motion to dismiss should be denied. The recommendation will now be considered by the trial judge. /1 pic.twitter.com/wF63dFWOVR — Dan Lennington (@DanLennington) July 8, 2025 Judge Joseph wrote that judicial immunity does not apply to criminal charges, like the ones Judge Dugan is facing for attempting to conceal an illegal immigrant in her courtroom from immigration authorities. Here’s a breakdown of the magistrate judge’s recommendation: Magistrate Judge recommends denying dismissal U.S. Magistrate Nancy Joseph ruled that judicial immunity, which applies in civil cases, does not extend to criminal charges Judge Dugan faces two charges: concealing an individual to prevent arrest (misdemeanor) and obstruction of proceedings (felony), potentially up to six years in prison and $350,000 in fines Factual disputes about whether she was performing judicial duties or violating federal law must be decided by a jury Judicial immunity does not block criminal prosecution The magistrate emphasized that immunity shields judges from civil suits, not criminal charges, in cases where laws may have been broken Prosecutors argued that claiming immunity for criminal interference would place judges “above the law” They also maintain her actions—directing a defendant through a private exit to evade ICE—went beyond official judicial duties Now, keep in mind that this is a non-binding recommendation. Ultimately, the choice to dismiss or proceed with the case against Dugan is up to U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman — a liberal Clinton appointee. At this time, no trial date has been set. Per AP News: U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Joseph on Monday recommended against dropping the charges. The ultimate decision is up to U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman, who can accept the other judge’s recommendation or reject it. “We are disappointed in the magistrate judge’s non-binding recommendation, and we will appeal it,” Dugan attorney Steven Biskupic, a former federal prosecutor, said in a statement. “This is only one step in what we expect will be a long journey to preserve the independence and integrity of our courts.”

JUST IN: Ten Individuals ARRESTED, Charged With Attempted MURDER For Planned Ambush of Texas ICE Agents

Ten suspects have been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with a horrific July 4th planned ambush on ICE agents in Alvarado, Texas. Watch U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson announce the charges against them here: Acting U.S. Attorney Nancy Larson announces attempted murder charges against ten individuals involved in a coordinated attack on ICE officers in Alvarado, Texas: “It was a planned ambush with the intent to kill ICE corrections officers.” pic.twitter.com/8zu1M32BTx — Rapid Response 47 (@RapidResponse47) July 8, 2025 These left-wing sickos lured ICE agents out using graffiti and fireworks, then opened fire. One officer was hit in the neck, but he survived and is now in recovery. Here’s a summary of everything we know so far about the attack: What happened: On the night of July 4, at around 10:30–11 p.m., a group of 10–12 individuals in military-style or all-black clothing launched a coordinated attack on the Prairieland ICE Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. They used fireworks and graffiti (e.g., “ICE pig,” “traitor”) to lure security personnel outside Ambush and shooting: During the attack, at least one Alvarado police officer responded and was shot in the neck. He was flown to a Fort Worth hospital, treated, and is expected to recover Fire exchanged: Simultaneously, another shooter in the woods opened fire on unarmed ICE corrections officers, discharging approximately 20–30 rounds. An AR-style rifle was found jammed at the scene Arrests and charges: Federal and local authorities apprehended 11 suspects (10 charged with attempted murder and multiple firearm counts; 1 charged with obstruction/conspiracy). Some were wearing body armor and carrying weapons, fireworks, flyers, and protest paraphernalia including a “Resist Fascism. Fight Oligarchy” flag Official response: The DOJ and FBI characterize the incident as a “coordinated and targeted attack” on law enforcement, with federal charges filed; the Department of Justice is monitoring the situation closely and pursuing a zero-tolerance policy for assaults on DHS facilities Officer condition: The wounded officer is expected to recover fully and no other injuries were reported during the incident All of the ten suspects are now facing a sentence of 10 years to life in prison. One additional suspect who was arrested on lesser charges faces up to 10 years in prison. Per CBS News: Ten suspects have been charged with three counts of attempted murder of a federal officer and three counts of discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. Cameron Arnold, Savannah Batten, Nathan Baumann, Zachary Evetts, Joy Gibson, Bradford Morris, Maricela Rueda, Seth Sikes, Elizabeth Soto and Ines Soto each face a mandatory 10 years, up to life in prison sentence. An 11th suspect has been charged with obstruction of justice and conspiracy to allegedly attempt to conceal and destroy evidence connected to the ambush. That suspect faces up to 10 years in prison. Mugshots of these individuals have been released: Mugshot release of the 10 charged with murder (1 other individual is charged separately) In addition to federal charges (announced below) all are booked on terrorism charged by Alvarado Police, some are charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder as well https://t.co/WVBRkqT07K pic.twitter.com/w8c8wjRov1 — AntifaWatch (@AntifaWatch2) July 8, 2025 And, here are some photos from the scene of the crime: NEW: TEN people charged by Feds with attempted murder in horrifying ambush at ICE facility in Alvarado, TX on 4th of July. This marks TWO ambushes on ICE facilities in Texas between Friday and Monday. pic.twitter.com/avfSKYmDTk — Matt Finn (@MattFinnFNC) July 8, 2025 These degenerates should be held to the fullest extent of the law. Give them life and make an example out of them. This type of stuff needs to stop entirely. But, it doesn’t stop with the crazies themselves. Just today, Fox News released a disturbing story about the escalating call for political violence among Democrats. Here’s an excerpt from that: “Our own base is telling us that what we’re doing is not good enough… [that] there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public,” one such lawmaker said. Another said their constituents are convinced that “civility isn’t working” and that they should prepare for “violence… to fight to protect our democracy.” A third lawmaker described some of the messages from people online as “crazy ****,” saying that some told them to “storm the White House and stuff like that.” Another lawmaker compared Democratic voters to the “Roman coliseum.” “People just want more and more of this spectacle,” the lawmaker said. Other constituents have insisted that lawmakers take on the risk themselves, with one lawmaker saying they were told they should be willing to get “shot.” “What I have seen is a demand that we get ourselves arrested intentionally or allow ourselves to be victims of violence, and… a lot of times that’s coming from economically very secure White people,” another lawmaker said. Democrats who have been pushing their violent, spiteful rhetoric for years absolutely contributed to this. They have blood on their hands. It needs to end. What are your thoughts?
