Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) was brutally mocked by political commentators after Daily Wire host Ben Shapiro lambasted him during a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday. Swalwell attempted to derail the committee hearing that featured Shapiro testifying on an alleged conspiracy to silence conservative media outlets by asking the Daily Wire host questions on unrelated policy positions. The California Democrat began his line of questioning by asking if Shapiro supported the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, a proposed set of presidential transition policies that the Left has recently focused on in an attempt to paint conservatives and Donald Trump as extremists. “The country in the last couple of weeks has talked about, googled Project 2025 … and you’re not going to get any censorship from me, so I just wanted to know from your perspective, I think it would help us understand, on just like a scale of 0-100 percent, how much do you support Project 2025?” Swalwell asked. “I think like President Trump, I haven’t looked all that deeply at Project 2025,” Shapiro replied. “But it seems that Democrats on this committee [think that] — sort of like Peter Pan and Tinkerbell — if they say Project 2025 enough, their presidential candidate becomes alive again.” Swalwell — who is best known for reportedly engaging in a romantic relationship with a suspected Chinese spy named Fang Fang — continued to pepper Shapiro with policy questions on issues such as immigration, abortion, and social security. The Daily Wire editor emeritus promptly answered Swalwell’s questions while asking the congressman why they were relevant to the topic of the hearing. The congressman then brought out a poster that displayed a 2018 quote of Shapiro calling homosexual activity “a sin.” “Yes, I’m a religious Jew. You found me out,” Shapiro said. “I agree with me. The exchange quickly went viral on social media, and numerous conservatives chimed in, applauding Shapiro’s response to Swalwell. “I want to ??? @benshapiro, but his evisceration of@RepSwalwell — which didn’t even bring up Fang Fang b/c Ben is a gentleman — was like watching a Mike Tyson-Swalwell fight. Not fair at all,” radio host Hugh Hewitt posted on X. “So ??? for Chairman @RepMcClintock for sticking the dismount on Swalwell’s forehead.” “Swalwell should have remembered that old Sean Connery line: Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight,” wrote Sean Spicer. “@benshapiro is a national treasure ?,” wrote Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen.

Archeologists announced on Tuesday that they had discovered five musket balls in Massachusetts likely fired by Patriot forces at the British during the first battle in America’s war for independence.  The National Park Service said that the musket balls were found at the North Bridge Battle site in Concord, Massachusetts, part of the Lexington and Concord battlefield. According to the archeologists, the musket balls were fired by members of a colonial militia that had mustered on April 19, 1775, to confront the British who were in Concord to confiscate a colonist ammunition store.  “It’s incredible that we can stand here and hold what amounts to just a few seconds of history that changed the world almost 250 years ago,” said Minute Man Park Ranger and historic weapons specialist Jarrad Fuoss. “These musket balls can be considered collectively as ‘The Shot Heard Round the World,’ and it is incredible that they have survived this long. It is also a poignant reminder that we are all stewards of this battlefield and are here to preserve and protect our shared history.” The discovery was made as archeologists made preparations for new improvements and restorations at the Minute Man National Historical Park. According to the National Park Service, the musket balls were found on the side of a river where the British were stationed. The musket balls were fired from the other side of the river where the colonists were coming from, according to analysis from the archeologists.  “Pulling one of those out of the ground, being able to hold it in your hand knowing the last person to touch this musket ball was ramming it down the barrel of their gun on the morning of April 19, 1775 is incredible,” Fuoss told CBS News.   On April 19, about 200 British soldiers arrived in Concord looking to confiscate ammunition and artillery pieces they believed to be stored at the home of Col. James Barrett. The British had just come from Lexington where they had fired upon a group of militiamen who had gathered on the town’s green after an unknown person fired the first shot of the war.  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Once in Concord, the British were again challenged by more militiamen after the colonists believed their homes had started being put on fire. The militiamen started marching toward the North Bridge where they were fired upon by the British and returned fire. The skirmish lasted less than three minutes with the gunfire becoming known there as “the shot heard round the world.” Even more British were killed as they retreated away from Concord.  At the end of the day, 93 Americans and 300 British were dead after what would become recognized as the first major battle of the American Revolutionary War.  Tourists to Concord will be able to see the musket balls on display on July 13. 

Kevin Costner’s second part to his western movie “Horizon: An American Saga” has been pulled from theaters ahead of its August release. In a statement from Costner’s Territory Pictures and distribution partner New Line Cinema, it was announced that “Horizon: An American Saga-Chapter 2” will not be getting a theatrical release on August 16 after the first chapter has struggled at the box office. “Territory Pictures and New Line Cinema have decided not to release ‘Horizon: Chapter 2’ on August 16 in order to give audiences a greater opportunity to discover the first installment of ‘Horizon’ over the coming weeks, including on PVOD and Max,” a spokesperson for New Line Cinema told the Hollywood Reporter. “We thank our exhibition partners for their continued support as moviegoers across the U.S. discover the film in its theatrical run,” the spokesperson added. Kevin Costner’s ‘HORIZON 2’ has had its August 16 theatrical release cancelled. The studio are hoping of allowing more time to grow the audience for the first film before releasing the second. Costner’s first of four planned films in the “Horizon: An American Saga” dropped in June. So far, it has struggled at the box office, the Hollywood Reporter reported. The film opened the weekend of June 28-30 earning only $11 million at the domestic box office by the end of the weekend, THR noted.  By the second weekend out, it had a domestic total of $22.2 million with a price tag of $100 million to make, the outlet noted. It also earned only another $3 million overseas. To help make the movie more profitable, the film will not only be released in theaters but also debut in the home on Premium VOD as early as next week, THR noted. There is no timetable yet as far as when it will be released on the streaming platform Max. The “Yellowstone” star previously downplayed the importance of box office success ahead of its release. “If we put so much pressure on that, we’re bound to be disappointed,” the actor told Entertainment Weekly. “I’m really happy that ‘Horizon’ looks like what it’s supposed to look like, and that’s the way it’ll look the rest of its life.
