EIA Confirms Historic U.S. Oil Production Record

In mid-December‚ I wrote here that the U.S. had set a new annual oil production record: “The U.S. set a new annual oil production record on December 15‚ based on data from the Energy Information Administration. Although the official monthly numbers from the EIA won’t be released for a couple of months‚ we can calculate that a new record has been set based on the following analysis.” I could project that new record based on the weekly production numbers from the EIA‚ but I noted...

US led global oil production for sixth straight year in 2023

The U.S. led the world in oil production for the sixth consecutive year in 2023‚ according to a new report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Crude oil production in the U.S.‚ including condensate‚ averaged 12.9 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2023 — a level which surpassed the American and global record of 12.3 million b/d that the U.S. set in 2019. Average monthly U.S. crude oil production also reached a record high in December 2023 at more than 13.3...

Under Biden‚ US oil production is as high as it’s ever been

The US is the largest crude oil producer in the world‚ pumping out nearly 13 million barrels on average every day in 2023‚ an all-time record‚ according to new data from the US Energy Information Administration. That’s an awkward milestone for President Joe Biden‚ who has arguably done more than any modern president to facilitate America’s transition away from fossil fuels to greener alternatives. For the last six years‚ America has outstripped Russia‚ Saudi...

Boeing ERASED video of workers &;#039;fixing&;#039; Alaska Airlines door plug six months before it blew off mid flight and have no records of repairs were done‚ NTSB claims

Boeing has erased security footage showing 'repairs' being made to an Alaska Airlines flight months before a door plug blew out at 16‚000 feet sparking a massive federal probe into airline safety.  National Transportation Safety Board officials noted in a letter to the Senate Committee on Commerce‚ Science and Transportation that the Boeing 737-9 plane underwent rivet repairs in September 2023.  The door plug blew out mid-flight above Oregon...

Fani Willis hit with &;quot;difficult question&;quot; in Trump case

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis faces a "difficult question" after Judge Scott McAfee dropped three charges against former President Donald Trump in his election interference case on Wednesday‚ conservative attorney Jonathan Turley said. McAfee‚ who is overseeing the trial into Willis' lawsuit against Trump‚ quashed six charges against Trump and his co-defendants. Trump was charged with three of the counts for allegedly soliciting former Georgia House Speaker David Ralston and...

Polish farmers backtrack on fully unblocking Ukraine border crossing‚ PAP reports

WARSAW‚ March 13 (Reuters) - Polish farmers increased the number of trucks they let through the Dorohusk border crossing with Ukraine on Wednesday but backpedalled on a promise to unblock it completely‚ state news agency PAP reported on Wednesday. Protest leader Wojciech Los told PAP that the number of trucks allowed to cross had been raised to five per hour from one or two previously. He had previously said that all trucks stuck there would be allowed through as a gesture of goodwill. "...

Fans are in stitches after woman's wildly incorrect‚ whimsical 'Wheel of Fortune' guess

Is there any game show that allows contestants to royally embarrass themselves on national TV quite like “Wheel of Fortune”? There’s always someone going viral for taking a big swing and missing on a phrase that seemed pretty apparent to the casual viewer. And when you take a big loss on a “Wheel of Fortune'' word puzzle‚ there are a lot of folks shaking their heads at home. More than 8 million people watch the game show every night. The latest victim of the wheel is Gishma Tabari from Encino‚ California‚ whose fantasy-inspired whiff of a common phrase earned her a lot of groans and some support from those who thought her imagination was inspiring. The 3-word puzzle read: “TH _ _ RITI _ S _ GR _ E‚” and Tabari offered the answer‚ “The British Ogre.” The guess surprised host Pat Sajak‚ who responded‚ "Uh‚ no.” Tabari must have missed that there was a space between the R and the E in the puzzle‚ so ogre would have had to be spelled with 2 Rs.She also probably wasn’t aware that England isn’t a place known for its ogres. The correct answer was: “The Critics Agree.”The British Ogre.Umm?#WheelOfFortune #TheBritishOgre pic.twitter.com/VnYcl0p7nE— Dr. Rick (@Rick_LifeCoach) December 13‚ 2023 The answer inspired a lot of activity on X‚ where people couldn’t believe someone could come up with such a fanciful answer to a puzzle with such a straightforward solution. This woman just guessed this puzzle as The British Ogre 😂😂😂 dying laughing 🤣 so many British Ogres in show biz #WheelofFortune pic.twitter.com/2ooImWepDn— CoL* (@littleruk) December 13‚ 2023 "Oi‚ you best be off my swamp‚ mate‚ before I get properly cheesed off!" -The British Ogre #wheeloffortune— Emily (@iamem89) December 13‚ 2023 What? You’ve never heard of the British Ogre? #wheeloffortune— Emily (@iamem89) December 13‚ 2023 The British Ogre?💀💀💀 #wheeloffortune— cierra bell (@cierrabellz) December 13‚ 2023 First the British Ogre than a P?! This show never fails to LOL with contestants #wheeloffortune— Jennifer (@capzie) December 13‚ 2023 This girl guessed “The British Ogre” on wheel of fortune and the second hand embarrassment was overwhelming. She wouldn’t even look at the camera for a sec🤣😭 I feel bad but man that shit was funny— Thumser (@JeffreyThumser) December 13‚ 2023 Michael created a lovely Photoshop image of what could be the British Ogre.#WheelofFortune https://t.co/uNaDdAttl2 pic.twitter.com/sXJgeOfQPL— Michael Nge (@michaelnge283) December 13‚ 2023 Not everyone had a problem with the guess.OK‚ the puzzle was clearly THE CRITICS AGREE but to be honest I prefer THE BRITISH OGRE because the puzzles could use some more wacky originality sometimes.#WheelOfFortune— Pasha Paterson (@zer0bandwidth) December 13‚ 2023 The British Ogre sounds like a cool band name. #WheelofFortune— ᴊᴇʀᴇᴍʏ ᴊᴀᴍᴍ (@NaskarrKid) December 13‚ 2023 The incorrect guess is an opportunity for the world to learn that ogres aren’t a significant part of English folklore. Sure‚ there are characters in English myths and legends that have ogre-like qualities‚ such as Grendel from "Beowulf‚" the monstrous creature that terrorizes the mead hall of King Hrothgar. There’s also the Boggart‚ a mischievous spirit much like a hobgoblin and trolls‚ which appear in some English tales although they originate in Scandinavia. If you’re looking for ogres in Europe‚ France is the best place to go.The word ogre is of French descent and comes from the name of the Etruscan god of the underworld‚ Orcus. Orcus is a large‚ ugly‚ bearded giant who enjoys consuming human flesh. Ogres are primarily known for eating children‚ which they believe will give them eternal life.As for “Wheel of Fortune‚” the show will undergo significant changes over the next few years. The show’s host‚ Pat Sajak‚ 76‚ has announced that he is stepping down from the show at the end of the 2024 season after hosting it for 41 years. In September 2024‚ radio host and “American Idol” emcee Ryan Seacrest will take over the hosting spot.Seacrest says that changes to the show will be minimal once he takes over.“With this game show‚ it’s such a success and has been for generations‚” Seacrest said in a new interview with People. “You don’t mess with it‚ just don’t mess with it. Just get out of the way‚ say ‘good evening‚’ and let’s play.”

Mother of 7 stunned to learn the ‘Alphabet Song’ has been changed to get with the times

The oldest published version of the melody to the “Alphabet Song” was in 1761. However‚ because it’s the same melody as “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Baa Baa Black Sheep‚” it's hard to trace it to its original composer. The “Alphabet Song” is so deeply entrenched in American culture that it almost seems sacrilegious to change a piece of music that’s one of the first most of us ever learned. But after all these years‚ some educators are altering the classic melody so that there is a variation when the letters L-M-N-O-P are sung. This change shocked popular TikTokker Jessica Skube‚ who documents life raising 7 children with her 2.6 million followers. Nearly 10 million people have watched her video revealing the significant change‚ and it’s received over 56‚000 comments since first being published in late 2020."You guys‚ I have huge‚ huge‚ huge‚ huge‚ huge news‚” Skube told her followers. "I have a fifth grader‚ a fifth grader‚ a fourth grader‚ a third grader‚ a third grader‚ a first grader‚ and a preschooler and I just got news that the ‘Alphabet Song’ is changing."She then sang the updated version of the song. @jesssfamofficial Just to add to your 2020 🤯😱 because distance learning wasn’t enough!!! @ms_frazzled #abcsong #lmno #wtf #momsoftiktok The big reason for the change is that people learning English‚ whether young kids or those who speak it as a second language‚ often get confused because L-M-N-O-P can sound like one letter‚ “elemenopee." So‚ the new version breaks up that part of the alphabet‚ making the letters easier to understand. There has been a "surge" in the number of students learning English as a second language over the past decade‚ so it only makes sense to alter the song to help them learn the fundamentals of the language. It’s believed that this new version of the song was first created by a website called Dream English in 2012. This article originally appeared on 9.27.23

Wife cooks nachos for 'picky' husband who refused to eat her salmon. But she has a point.

A viral video showing a woman preparing nachos for her "picky" spouse after he refused to eat the salmon dinner she cooked has sparked a contentious debate on TikTok. The video was shared on April 26 by Brianna Greenfield (@themamabrianna on TikTok) and has since earned over 2.5 million views.Brianna is a mother of two who lives in Iowa. The video starts with Brianna grating a massive hunk of cheese with a caption that reads: “My husband didn’t eat the dinner that I made…So let’s make him some nachos.”“If I don’t feed him‚ he literally won’t eat‚” she wrote. “This used to irritate me. Now I just blame his mother for never making him try salmon‚” Greenfield wrote. The video features Meghan Trainor’s single “Mother” playing in the background. At the end of the video‚ she hands her husband a huge plate of nachos while he lies on the couch under a blanket. The video received over 11‚000 comments on TikTok‚ primarily people saying that she shouldn’t have made a second meal for her husband and that he appears to be entitled. @themamabrianna Moral of the story: always serve your kids allllll the food‚ even if they say they dont like it after the first time. 25 years from now your child’s spouse will thank you. 😉 #momsoftiktok #momtok #momlife #workingmom #sahm #marriedlife #marriage #marriagehumor #wifelife #wivesoftiktok #happywifehappylife #pickyeater #pickyhusband #nachosfordinner #wivesoftiktok #cuisinartairfryer #humpday #guesswhatdayitis🐪 #guesswhatdayitis #eattherainbow "If my husband came home after I cooked dinner and told me he wasn’t eating it to make something else I’d laugh in his face‚" Rebecca Rose wrote. "This ain't a marriage it's a caretaker internship‚" Ad Trèz added."It got worse with him wrapped in the blanket being served‚" Lauren Becker wrote. "Ohhh...now I know what people mean when they refer to 'the ick‚'" Tara Townsend commented‚ referencing the moment when people realize that their attraction to someone has turned to repulsion. However‚ Brianna believes that people are missing the point of her video. "Moral of the story: always serve your kids allllll the food‚ even if they say they don't like it after the first time. 25 years from now your child’s spouse will thank you‚" she captioned the post.Brianna wasn’t trying to paint her husband as infantile but call attention to the fact that when parents don’t expose their children to different types of food‚ they can wind up with a relatively unsophisticated palette. She knew he didn't like salmon when she made the dinner for her and her kids‚ so it wasn't a surprise that he didn't want it. “If you have parents who don’t really like to try anything new‚ you will also be exposed to fewer new foods‚” Marcia Pelchat‚ Ph.D. told Self—adding that the reverse is also true. When we have positive experiences with new foods‚ we are more likely to try unfamiliar tastes in the future.Even though many took shots at Brianna and her husband‚ they took it all in stride and aren’t bothered by people who don’t know them."Thankfully‚ my husband and I have an excellent sense of humor and know the truth (that he is a wonderful husband and even better father)‚ so we just think the reaction is genuinely entertaining‚” she told Newsweek. “Some of the rude comments are hilariously clever!"After the first video went viral‚ she posted another where she serves him macaroni and cheese‚ while he lays on the couch‚ under a blanket with numerous electronic devices around him. @themamabrianna Replying to @cokedoutsoccermom hot damn🔥 #momsoftiktok #momtok #momlife #workingmom #sahm #marriedlife #marriage #marriagehumor #wifelife #wivesoftiktok #happywifehappylife #pickyeater #pickyhusband #eattherainbow #macandcheese This article originally appeared on 7.16.23
