From 2015 to 2016‚ JoJo Siwa was on the show “Dance Moms” alongside her mother‚ Jessalynn Siwa. While she may not have been the best dancer‚ viewers always wanted to see more of her on screen. She has a big‚ bubbly personality and was always genuinely fun to watch. After two seasons on the show‚ she started a YouTube channel called “It’s JoJo Siwa‚” which was a kids’ show—and kids loved her. It positively exploded. She gained a huge following and even created music for kids thereafter. In January 2020‚ Siwa came out as a lesbian. There are‚ obviously‚ lesbians who grow up to marry women. The women I know who have chosen this route are often women who have been abused by men in some way‚ be it emotional or physical. They almost experience a repulsion of men for the rest of their lives. Ellen DeGeneres has talked about the sexual abuse she experienced as a child‚ and she has been married to a woman for many years now. But Siwa’s story? I have seen this story and so have you: Young girls become famous and want to break away from the child-like persona that made them famous — and they go through “a phase.” Call it a coming-of-age phase‚ per se. These girls are the Cyndi-Lauper-type girls who “just want to have fun.” They make out with other girls at a high school or college party‚ but they are not really lesbians. They grow up and out of that phase. They go on to marry a man and have children. It matters because it impacts our children and because it’s relevant to the next generation. This type of behavior becomes dangerous. These women are famous and because their phase is platformed‚ it is treated as something more than just a phase. JoJo Siwa has recently discussed on her podcast what coming out to her mother was like. She says she was 12-years-old. That’s right: 12-years-old. Do we assign meaning to anything that a 12-year-old says? Girls’ emotions are all over the place around that age when they are going through puberty; that is why people often say girls are much more difficult than boys when they are teenagers. Factually‚ a 12-year-old’s brain simply is not developed. In fact‚ it’s not developed until age 25. Then‚ in regards to the conversation between Siwa and her mom‚ Siwa says‚ “My mom actually made my coming out to her super easy.” And when “everyone kinda caught a vibe” between her and a girl who ended up becoming her first girlfriend‚ her mom asked her‚ “Do you like her as a friend or as more than a friend?” All the while‚ Siwa has lots of children’s eyes watching her every move‚ hanging on her every word. They’re the kids who fell in love with her on YouTube‚ so they’re still listening to her while she makes her lesbian journey sound fun and easy. Yet many lesbians’ journeys have been far from fun and easy. The highest domestic violence statistics exist amongst the lesbian community‚ with 43.8% of lesbian women and 61.1% of bisexual women having experienced rape‚ physical violence‚ or stalking by an intimate partner. Those are facts‚ and they are facts that JoJo Siwa is not considering while she goes through what I perceive to plausibly be a phase in her life. But on her podcast‚ she says she is looking for someone who is ready to have kids because she is “very near ready.” Siwa says‚ “That is something that I care very‚ very much about.” Now‚ I love that she is talking about wanting to have children and making that aspirational because that is actually not common in Hollywood whatsoever. However‚ she is clearly not considering the implications of being a lesbian and having children. To have children‚ she would have to go through IVF‚ a tremendously expensive‚ emotional‚ and painful process. The reality of IVF is not flippant; it is severe. Further‚ it is not guaranteed. JoJo Siwa may just be wanting to separate herself from the big bow phase‚ but the lesbian phase may be one she looks back on with regret. Perhaps she will look to some of the women who have lived lives similar to hers to learn from where they are now because her current decisions are in the public consciousness. She is influencing the children who are following her by glamorizing these decisions‚ even if unintentionally so.

California Governor Gavin Newsom‚ who is considered a rising star in the Democrat Party‚ is under fire after a report this week revealed that he pushed for a special carveout in the state’s new $20 minimum wage law that affects businesses owned by one of his top political allies and donors. Bloomberg News reported that billionaire Greg Flynn was getting a “new boost” after his chain of Panera Bread locations were exempted from a new law that forces fast food restaurants to increase their minimum wage from $16 to $20 per hour. Flynn is the largest “restaurant franchisee in the US‚ if not the world‚” the report added. Panera Bread was spared from the law because it offered “unusual exemption for chains that bake bread and sell it as a standalone item.” The report states that Newsom “pushed for that break.” The report showed the numerous connections that the two men have‚ including going to the same high school‚ Flynn donating significant sums of money to Newsom’s political campaigns‚ Flynn allegedly bragging about his easy access to Newsom‚ and Flynn buying a resort managed by a company that Newsom owned. Newsom and his office refused to disclose details about how they decided to create the carveout that benefited Newsom’s donor and only claimed that it was the “result of countless hours of negotiations with dozens of stakeholders” and was “part of the sausage-making” in politics. The report noted that Flynn‚ who has also been involved in “business dealings” with the governor‚ would not respond to questions about his connections to Newsom. Panera Bread also would not respond to requests for comment‚ according to Bloomberg. The report said that he “urged the governor’s top aides to reconsider whether fast-casual chains such as Panera should be classified as fast food‚” which ultimately went nowhere. “The Service Employees International Union‚ a labor group that was the driving force behind the bill‚ decided to accept a narrower carve-out as the talks progressed — one that would only apply to restaurants operating bakeries‚” the report added. “That position was adopted as a means of winning the governor’s support for the legislation‚ said a person with knowledge of the discussions. The rationale was the governor’s longstanding relationship with a Panera franchisee‚ the person said.” The report highlighted multiple examples of major entities in the fast food industry who were puzzled about the special carve out and who also said that law was a “devastating financial blow” to businesses. Flynn owns thousands of restaurants‚ including Applebee’s‚ Pizza Hut‚ Taco Bell‚ Wendy’s‚ Panera Bread‚ and more. The only restaurants he owns in California are Applebee’s — which is exempt from the law because it’s not a fast food restaurant — and Panera Bread.

The GOP-led House is moving ahead with plans to hold Secretary of State Antony Blinken in contempt of Congress in a dispute over documents related to the Biden administration‘s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan in 2021. Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) announced on Thursday his panel will consider a resolution that recommends the House find Blinken in contempt of Congress for his alleged refusal to comply with a subpoena issued in July. A markup session is scheduled to take place on March 7. “It has been nearly 14 months since we first requested these documents that are critical to our investigation in the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan‚” McCaul said in a statement. “The ball is in the secretary’s court – if he wants to avoid being the first Secretary of State in history to be held in contempt of Congress‚ he can provide these documents.” McCaul noted in a letter on Monday that his panel was ready to hold Blinken in contempt of Congress if the State Department did not provide requested documents‚ particularly interview notes used to draft the After-Action Review on the Afghanistan withdrawal‚ after “countless” accommodations. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters this week that the agency has provided thousands of pages of documents to the committee and made people available for transcribed interviews in recognition of the panel’s “legitimate” oversight activities. A Guatemalan national in the country illegally was arrested by Utah police on Monday for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl‚ according to police records obtained by The Daily Wire. Twenty-six-year-old Jonathan Estuardo Ruano Garcia is being held in the Utah County jail‚ and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed a detainer on him‚ the sheriff’s office told The Daily Wire. Police documents said that on Sunday night‚ a mother returned to her apartment around 11:15 p.m.‚ where her daughter was home alone. On the way in‚ she “observed an adult male leaving her apartment. The mother said the male made eye contact but then quickly walked away.” When she entered the apartment‚ she found her daughter completely naked in the hallway‚ and “the 11-year-old girl told her mother that a male she met on the internet came to the apartment and had sex with her‚” the police report said. Police used the girl’s social media history to identify Ruano Garcia‚ and quickly located him at his home. “Ruano Garcia admitted that he put his penis in her vagina and had sex with the 11 year old for 20-30 min‚” the police report said‚ and claimed he believed the girl was 13 or 14. He said he met her at a soccer game and began chatting with her online. “Ruano Garcia admitted that the chats he had with the victim turned sexual and he sent naked photos of his penis on multiple occasions‚” the police report said. Ruano Garcia was arrested for three felonies: the rape of a child‚ enticing a minor‚ and forgery. The forgery charges are because “In his wallet was a social security card that did not appear to be authentic. When asked about the social security card Ruano Garcia admitted that it was fake and that he paid money for it when he came to the United States from his county‚” police wrote. Local news station KSL first reported on the arrest. The Utah County prosecutor’s office said his first court appearance is set for Friday‚ and that court documents have not yet been filed. The sheriff’s office told The Daily Wire it notifies ICE anytime an illegal immigrant is held in jail. It is the latest instance of brutal crimes by illegal immigrants‚ who in many cases were repeatedly arrested for more minor crimes and then released by sanctuary jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with ICE. In the first half of this month‚ ICE arrested nearly 300 convicted sex predators who were illegal immigrants. A man who allegedly shot three police officers on February 14 in Washington‚ D.C.‚ is an illegal immigrant. In California‚ an illegal immigrant was convicted of felony DUI but remained in the country‚ where he then killed an 8-year-old boy while speeding in his BMW after consuming alcohol. He was released from prison after only 16 months‚ and was quickly arrested for two more DUIs‚ with the California localities in both cases releasing him on bail and refusing to cooperate with ICE. The 8-year-old boy would “100%” be alive today if the government had deported Karmjit Singh after his first conviction‚ his father told The Daily Wire. In Louisiana‚ an illegal was arrested Sunday for allegedly raping a 14-year-old and stabbing someone in the face. Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley said that illegal immigrants are hard to police because “Lack of access to data‚ false identification and language barriers put local law enforcement at a huge disadvantage. We cannot verify if an illegal alien is giving correct information as it pertains to names and date of births. It is not only a drain on police manpower‚ but a financial drain on local law enforcement’s budgets and taxpayer’s money.”

Former Republican-turned-independent Rep. Justin Amash entered the Republican Senate primary in Michigan on Thursday‚ joining a field of candidates hoping to win the seat of retiring Democratic Sen.
