July 1st, 2008: Pearl Jam Raise Millions

On this day sixteen years ago, Pearl Jam raised $3 million for the Robin Hood Foundation, an anti-poverty charity, by playing a private benefit show at New York’s Beacon Theater. Pearl Jam rolled through an eclectic set before a capacity crowd of 2,800 – with floor-level seat tickets running as high a $2,250. The group played seated for the first five songs, which included covers of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” and Bob Dylan’s “Masters Of War.” Then they shifted to their normal set which featured “Even Flow.” “Down” and even “Last Kiss.” Following two encores, the band wrapped up the evening with a cover of The Who’s “Baba O’ Riley.” ### The post July 1st, 2008: Pearl Jam Raise Millions appeared first on RockinTown.
